As Naja took on the defensive, she somewhat got aware of the others of her team going on the offensive. She noted Llexe launching herself in, and… so violent! It wouldn’t normally be an issue, honestly Naja herself was equally violent, but Naja had just thrown her target out the building specifically to avoid hurting the any part of the shop, the floor included! … She has claws on those gauntlets, huh. It did look like Llexe took a pretty bad hit, but she seemed utterly unaffected so perhaps she didn’t even need to dodge that.
Light was playing with some of them and Christopher was engaging a few outside. Meanwhile, Kiyoshi was moving to take apart some opponents with his sword… though not literally, she was observing. Somewhere out there Sam acted as a literal wall that their opponents just couldn’t escape against.
With those monsters outside, Llexe in here threatening to kill them and Kiyoshi swinging a sword with movements like a blur, it somehow came to be that the few remaining, panicked gang-members saw the muscular cyborg as their best chance. Honestly, she wasn’t sure if they were wrong. If they somehow took her down, they’d have hostages. Which, of course, was the very reason Naja placed herself here.
Two of them were running in to punch her. Their simple plan was that coming from two directions made them more likely to win. It made sense, but their style… it was untrained. This was just sad.
Rule number one of taking on multiple opponents… take them on one by one. Before they reached her, she sprung forth to meet the one on her right, fists raised to punch. He raised his fists to guard his face… so Naja punched him once in the gut with her right hand, doubling the guy before her second fist struck him him in the face, knocking him out, and the hand in his gut held onto his clothing so he didn’t fly into the wall.
The second guy pursued her to strike her from the side. Naja spun towards him, still holding attacker #1 in her right hand as her right metal foot flew up to almost strike her opponent’s head. He blocked it with his left arm, but his whole guard cracked after blocking Naja’s high-power metal leg. He shouted, and was about to career into the wall of the store’s goods… when Naja jumped from left to right leg bringing up her left leg in a swift kick into the man’s side from the other side, nullifying his movement and knocking him out. Her left hand quickly flew forth to grab him by his clothing before he fell into anything.
‘You’re safe for now, we got you,’ Naja told the couple as she gently put the two Tunnel Snakes on the floor, no harm done to the store on her expense. Nobody took her on after that.
+2 KOs. Total: 13 KOs, 3 injured, 1 winded and 1 fighting Light. 2 unaccounted for, but they’re probably pretty scared by now.
The giant was a man of few words as well, but for a different reason, it felt like to Naja. Not that it mattered. Then there was the feminine male ninja. … And, it made sense that Kiyoshi interested her- er, him. Christopher Falcon, 35th successor. Darn, that’s a long history.
Eve spoke again… and suggested something horrifying. That childish team-building activity that was sure to become exceedingly awkward!? Naja’d rather fight every single one of them in a row! She almost felt her hairs stand on end… when there was a furious knock, and they were spared from partaking in such an embarrassing activity. Naja breathed out in relief.
… So, the Tunnel Snakes were causing a stir of trouble? How bothersome of them. Well, it was about to be their unlucky day, as they were about to be hit from nowhere by the unified force of what was probably one of the most accomplished teams of fighters on the planet, formed that very same day. Much better than what Eve was about to suggest.
‘We’re on it,’ Naja told, before turning to the team. Alright, there was something here.
______
Naja was more or less in the middle of the street when she looked in and realized the man was about to punch the women. Gritting her teeth, she directed one hand behind her and charged her chi. With a powerful blast the blue chi of her Bolstered Spear shot out at nothing, propelling Naja so she was launched past the whole group of surprised thugs to land behind the main offender, leaving behind a trail of blue chi which quickly faded from visibility.
The cyborg had calculated it so she slowed down just as she approached her target from behind, and there she gripped his raised arm in a mechanized, hard grip. She swung around, twisting his arm as she threw him over her back, sending him careering out past his squad and sliding over the asphalt before finally slamming his head into a pole on the opposite side of the street.
Naja lightly rolled her shoulders for a second as her enemies processed what had just happened, before putting up her metal arms and legs in a defensive savate stance, herself between the thugs and the two women.
‘Alright… let’s warm up,’ she casually stated.
Now, with all likelihood, the rest of the team was already going through their enemies. Still, Naja just wanted to ensure she got in place to block the path to the two innocents first. Now it was just a manner of kicking and knocking out any goons trying to approach the civilians or herself while the rest finished off this barely-mentionable band of thugs.
The large man, dressed head to toe in clothing, which style was impressive. Naja could imagine some serious muscles beneath all that. She looked forward to seeing how he would fight, if he could use that body effectively. It did concern her a bit how he’d sounded when his mouth opened, but he had understood Eve well enough. Should not be a problem.
There were two other women here, both of similar height but that’s where the similarities ended. One was wrapped in head to toe in cloth, hiding herself, yet despite that her voice and mannerism was peppy. Did she have something to hide? Now that she considered it, did the resident giant? … Naja was not the kind to delve into what others might be hiding if they’d like to keep it hidden. Regardless, she sounded confident. Hm. Were she going to fight in that? That’d be a sight.
The other one was… troubling. She’d come in sleepy and unaware, and her mannerism left something to be desired. However, Naja had caught a glimpse of those scars, and that body showed promise. Hm. Alright, Naja was left simply hoping she’d perform well when put to the test, and not be… annoying.
Next was another woman. Lots of women here, huh. Could be Eve’s preference. It would annoy Naja somewhat if she had sacrificed potential power to assemble a team of women, but it hadn’t sounded like it. Then she spoke… … Wait. … No? Not a woman? Huh. Still, those sure were some formal words. Ninja, huh. Naja hoped that smaller body hid some magnificent skill.
Last was the Japanese male among them, elfin perhaps but definitely male. As expected of one from his origin, he was polite and controlled, and his English was like a native. Made her wonder, really. Still. Sword, huh. She looked forward to how he’d perform. And, of course, she was intending to perform well herself before all these other fighters.
Naja nodded as she was addressed by Eve. She also acknowledged that numbers did, in fact, mean something, but it just meant you had to be smart about it. ‘… If they control this much of the city then they’ve got the money to hire strong fighters. If they aren’t challenges themselves, they’ll bring some as soon as we start tearing them apart,’ Naja stated as she stood up, her back straight as she turned to look at the rest.
‘Well met, Kiyoshi,’ Naja told the blade-wielder, idly wondering if he had methods to avoid killing. It was a problem Naja’d have to struggle with herself, on their own her blows had more than enough strength to end lives, but for a weapon-wielder? Then, there was Light… who wasn’t human. Naja blinked at her a bit in surprise at this revelation, though didn’t make any sounds. After having processed her a bit, she came to the conclusion that was entirely fine. ‘It’s nice to meet you, Light,’ she replied. Then… the other woman. Llexe. A single word. It’d do. Actually, Naja respected the woman’s efficiency. If talking wasn’t her strong point, then getting it over with without a fuzz was admirable. ‘Llexe,’ Naja said, simply to affirmate that she had heard and approved. Then she prepared to speak herself.
‘I am Naja, tireuse of savate and practitioner of baji quan, as well as wielder of mechanized strength. I’m skilled and strong, no need to look out for me unless our enemies are on the same level. If any of you are interested in sparring to get to know each other better, then I’m willing to try you out when we have free time. … We’ll get by alright,’ she told the last specifically as Light bounced by, somewhat unimpressed by her attitude but it was overall harmless. She got a handshake from a metal hand, no problem. A small instinct to perform the natural Swiss greeting went through Naja’s mind, though she suppressed it. It wasn’t a thing in the states, after all. Maybe if they got to know each other better. Maybe.
Naja, dressed in a white tank-top and simple black shorts, was walking into the building with her mechanical augmentations visible for all to see. She didn’t look much at her fellow fighters, she didn’t have much reason to as of yet. The bottom of her mechanic legs still wore shoes, so she didn’t make more sound than regular as she walked. For a team of fighters all across the world, only one of them really looked as she had expected them to, which was the giant among them. However, Naja knew not to underestimate the amount of weird that could amount to power in this world. After all, she thought as she flexed her metallic fingers, she was one of the weird ones. Could it actually be that the weird outpowered the classic look? … Naja would be very disappointed if so.
So this was Eve Roulette. Indeed, knowing her age Naja found herself remarkably impressed by the woman’s appearance, instantly earning some level of respect from the cyborg. Very well. Naja sat down in one of the couches, put one leg over the other and placed her hands together, listening to the woman. She had expected the nature of their mission, ever since she’d heard she’d be heading for New Carona. 5000$... While a lot to a citizen, it wasn’t much compared to the cost of the metal limbs which Naja fought with. Add that to the money she regularly earned through missions and how big her “allowance” from her father was, and it was pocket money. Still, it proved the point. There was more where that came from, and Naja had reasons beyond money to fight.
Heh. No caring about paying for tables, apparently. … Huh. Big guy was clapping at the table being kicked apart. Or perhaps he was clapping because of her determination to clean up the city. In any case. Naja heard the plea, and intended to answer it. She just let a few others answer first.
‘I stand with you. Just let me know, who are the stronger known foes we’ll have to deal with? Are we just talking numbers, or will they be a real challenge?’ Naja leaned forward, placing her legs back straight as she did. Because she was indeed curious, who was there out there that could challenge them? What information could Eve give them? … Of course, Eve may have been getting there eventually, but Naja wanted to ask, anyway.
Mayra flew in through the smoke, flipping through and landing so that her legs bent her down into a squat, her tail slamming into the ground around her carried by the force of her jump. Then she looked ahead, and…
‘Eh?’ Mayra came to a complete stop when she arrived through the smoke, seeing Tonya and Alex and Lucifer and the blob and whatever else. None of which she actually knew. So, they were definitely firing upon one another, and there was fire and monsters and… This strangely skimpily dressed woman who asked her to state her business.
‘My business? Er, I kinda don’t have a business. I mean, I do, but it’s not my business, I do work for others occasionally, but mostly I do what I want, but that’s just free time, not business~!’ Mayra laughed a bit. ‘That aside! I’m Mayra McCullough, and I’m here to fight! I thought there’d be more. Huh. Anyway! Who should I fight!? The guy, the girl, you, all of you!? I honestly can’t tell! Hahaha!’ The scaly monster-girl smiled eagerly, standing up with the yellow patterns and her hair heating up, fire sparkling off her as she prepared to do battle looking at the confrontation between Tonya and Alex, her legs gathering power to potentially launch.
She wasn’t throwing her fire or launching just yet. She hadn’t decided on her target yet.
@Joshua Tamashii Special note on your area, AFTER you read the main post. The thing that is going on right now is using Amelia's memories. That is to say, if there's something I write that you find extremely incorrect, you may correct me. Still. This is what it'd do, so.
‘Hm. That’d be that way,’ Earl pointed in a direction. ‘You’re going to run into the path to the Silent Shrine first. From there, you can either go off the road into North Silent Forest, or head east to Highhill Town. Route 3 is either east of North Silent Forest or north of Highhill Town, you’ll need to at least step inside one or the other before reaching the route,’ Earl simply stated.
Then there was Vivia. Celebrity used Pound! … “Lightly”!
'AH!' Vivia flinched and accidentally kicked the sleeping Venonat beside her, flinching and rolling to get back onto her feet while one hand went to the place she had been pounded. 'I’m awake! I’m awake! I’m- huh,' she said, as she started looking around herself in confusion. 'Oh, right, I was…' Vivia reasoned as she remembered what she had been doing… and then frowned at Celebrity. 'You put me asleep! Don’t do that! I like being awake, okay!?' she mildly scolded, before looking up to Skylar. 'I’m sorry! What did I miss!?' she asked in a panic, looking around, seeing Skylar and Earl. 'Oh, this is…'
‘… I’m Earl,’ Earl simply stated.
'Huh. Vivia. Pleased to meet you,' Vivia stated, looking around for wherever he might have come from, having been preoccupied with Celebrity earlier but seeing the building again she was starting to remember.
‘Venonat…’ Venonat complained, getting up beside her as well. Eventually, a giggling Rotom that had just startled a Tropius into dropping into the spring and a mildly upset Scraggy trying to keep eyes on Rotom also came over.
So, what’d Skylar do?
1. Find Pokémon. Specify if you’re looking for a specific kind of Pokémon in the forest. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Move along. Eevee Sand-Attacked, and Extraordinary Leered, and Grolithe Embered. It had much of the intended effect, the Blitzles’ Defense was lowered, they scattered lightly, Ember scared them and parted the way. The way was opened to the Shiny Blitzle, and Eevee was going to commit to a Tackle… when he was hit by a sudden Quick Attack from a Blitzle straight on. In fact… the whole herd knows Quick Attack, Blitzle IS BORN with Quick Attack! Suddenly, the herd confident in its abilities, numerous (6 in total) Blitzle’s came charging forward at blinding speed, hitting Eevee and Growlithe for heavy damage when all the Blitzles came at once. The ones that targeted Extraordinary obviously flew straight past, but one of them was charging electricity, preparing to unleash Shock Wave. … Except, of course, Shock Wave immediately went to one of its companions, Lightning Rod preventing them from actually targeting Extraordinary with any electricity.
Level-range in the herd of Blitzles, 6-12.
Thing is, one of the Blitzle’s that had charged in towards Growlithe was the Shiny Blitzle, who had Quick Attacked alongside its companions.
So, Eevee and Growlithe are both about to faint from taking on superior numbers, though the Blitzles are unable to actually do anything about Extraordinary, ironically due to their own ability. Thing is, unable to target the Pokémon, at least one of them looks towards Erza himself.
To Joshua on the outside, having his Pokémon battle the hordes of Ghost-Pokémon summoned to break out of the Tomb… it suddenly happened that all the ghosts stopped. The Goletts froze in their advance, Honedges suddenly pulling back and Bronzors stopping in mid-air, a sudden air of truce hanging over the halls. It seemed like something had happened, something that made all the advancing forces stop. The fighting completely stopped, Joshua’s Pokémon and the ghosts stopping and staring at one another.
… There was something on the skies to the north. Was something approaching…? … It was numerous…
Aegislash stopped short and the young man’s smile dropped as Amelia spoke. It clearly wasn’t what he was expecting. They were silent as she explained their similarities. A small snort came as she said she wanted to be their friend and the people above probably didn’t know his plight. A silence hang in their end of the room as Amelia asked them to call off the attack until the negotiations were done, and then Amelia’s words to Greninja. The young man raised his chin while Aegislash floated eerily and glared at her before she turned to face him again.
‘Aeegislaash,’ the Pokémon declared. A manner of power reached out from him, and all at once, his ghosts across the tomb stopped their assault. They stopped where they stood, not moving another muscle.
‘Very well. You may speak with my master. We will hold off… until the end of your talk,’ the young man declared. ‘I have no doubt you will fail,’ he told, altogether unconvinced, yet regardless affected on some manner of level.
With that, Bronzor flew forth, and applied its Hypnosis.
As Amelia had accepted this, the felt her consciousness darken and drift away, but not before a final message. But if you can… do what I cannot. Help him.
Then, if Dawkin didn’t, if Greninja didn’t, then Cofagrigus reached forth with its many arms and grabbed Amelia before she fell, and then the room would be silent, nobody having any express reason to speak.
‘Hmpf. Foolhardy girl. I will take pleasure in seeing her expression after her failure,’ the young man said, though his expression was remarkably sour. Aegislash maintained roughly the same aura.
‘Still, we have time. After all, so many years have passed, the ones who locked us away should all be-’
Suddenly, the eyes of both Aegislash and the human widened, glaring off in the distance past Dawkin and the other amassed ghosts.
‘Aegi-!?’ Aegislash questioned in alarm.
‘No! They should… they should all be-! Why are they…!?’ the young man asked, panic and dread in his voice.
… Said the man whose feet hit the sand beside the entrance Joshua was guarding. The man was dressed in a fancy cloak-uniform in black, white and gold, an elderly man in glasses and a balding head, a Chatot placed on his shoulder. To his left was a woman of darker skin-colour in a white official uniform-dress and to his right a man in a suit, holding a book and long staff with a Pokéball etched into the middle of the spire, a huge scarf around his neck and hanging way further than any normal scarf would. The leader had ridden in on an ancient fossil bird Archeops, the woman had ridden in on a psychic bird Xatu though it had looked more like she’d been carried along by psychic power, while the scarf-man with a staff had ridden in on the ogre darner Yanmega. Behind the three of them was a group of numerous men and women dressed all in white with belts of Pokéballs on them.
‘Bravo!’ … Said the Chatot.
‘Bravo, indeed,’ said the older man with a kind smile. ‘You’ve held off the ghosts until we arrived. But, you have nothing more to fear. Let me introduce myself. I am Roderick. Leader of Team Virtue.’
‘These are my Admins, Ivory and Oscar,’ Roderick said, waving gracefully to his companions.
‘You have our gratitude,’ Ivory said, keeping her head lifted, Xatu by her side.
‘Maye the fates…’ Oscar said, weaving with his staff a bit in the air, as if he was blessing Joshua or something, Yanmega buzzing in mid-air beside him. ‘… smile brightly at you for today’s actions.’
‘The situation is now handled. We will end whatever threat has arisen within this tomb, and seal them away once again. Oscar, the chosen Pokémon is ready?’ Roderick asked, turning to his companion.
Oscar lifted and bumped the staff against the sands, looking to the Pokéball etched into the spire.
‘Ready to fulfill its destiny.’ The was something of awe in Oscar’s gaze as he looked at the Pokéball…
‘Good,’ Roderick nodded, taking out a Pokéball of his own and looking towards the assembled horde of ghosts, the men behind the three leaders of Virtue doing the same. They were making ready for battle again, in fact even staggering backwards trying to get to more easily defendable positions. ‘Men, ready for battle!’ Roderick called, completely intending on completely ignoring Joshua…
‘Blast it! This is too soon! The master is not ready…!’
Aegislash turned and glared angrily, directly at Dawkin.
‘Did YOU call for them…!?’ the young man asked, glaring right alongside the Pokémon controlling him. All of a sudden him and his Golurks and other Pokémon were in the mood to fight again, and Cofagrigus as well as Gengar made ready for battle once again.
Meanwhile, a certain daughter was peeking out through the doorway behind Aegislash’s puppet, for some reason not asleep while all the rest of the ghost’s captives were. There was all of a sudden a whole lot of pressure on Dawkin, and a battle that looked like it was about to break out all at once.
Amelia felt like she woke up with a jolt. It was by the sound of a lightning strike. It felt like she had just been woken up and all the adventuring she had just done had been a single long, extensive dream, all of it suddenly cut short…
This… was her bedroom. Her cage, the very same one she had moments ago been describing for Aegislash. … And that was another lightning strike. The sound of rain pounding against the walls and windows were echoing throughout the house. If she tried to move, each motion felt like it was taking ten times the effort, and like her heart had to work overtime to keep up.
The door suddenly struck open, almost perfectly timed with another lightning bolt. There… stood her father, glaring at her accusingly.
‘I heard… you snuck out again,’ he told, actual anger in his voice. ‘You went far, far away… you can’t do that. It’s not safe out there. You need to stay, right here, if I so have to…’ he took a step forward, and in his hands were chains. Chains to bind Amelia to her bed. He approached slowly, with almost guilty eyes, but… ‘You leave me no choice…’
… Now, there was a lot of negative aspects piling up in this existence, fueled by who knows what that could clearly see her memories as it did what it did, and perhaps it could have been too much for her…
Eryn ran, with Kylie shooting Fairy Wind overhead to scatter the powder released from the Butterfrees into other areas. Some of the Butterfrees flew close, but they were held off by sudden Embers from Dei as they ran, though they were quick enough to avoid actually being hit. She ran, attempting to outpace the intentions of the Butterfrees… and eventually they let her go, circling back as she was running on… but all of a sudden she was seeing light up ahead… along with even more noise of flapping wings, not those of Butterfrees, but very similar.
Deep Infested Woods
Trees stood tall. The vegetation died down. Open areas blocked only by occasional trees spread out in every direction. … There was so much less life operating at ground-level. Yet, look up, and a dance was taking place. Small shimmering lights, pursued by a flock of moths, flew about in the woods. Beneath each flock of moths was a spray of dust, landing on the dying ground beneath. A powder that gathered on the floor of the forest and made the grass die, not to grow until the following day. … There were Volbeats, found much deeper inside the woods than usual, and each was pursued by a whole flock of Dustox.
Pokédex Entry #313 – Volbeat, the Firefly Pokémon. Volbeats live in forested areas with supplies of clean water. Their tails light up in the dark or during the night to communicate, and are known to draw geometric shapes in the night sky. They're attracted to Illumise's sweet aroma.
Pokédex Entry #269 – Dustox, the Poison Moth Pokémon. A nocturnal Pokémon, known to be instinctively attracted to lights in the dark such as street lights. As it waves its wings, it spreads a dust that is a powerful poison. It eats leaves on trees for sustenance.
There were more Pokémon. Most obvious were the Kakuna with closed eyes, sleeping attached to the trees. Other Pokémon were Beedrills hiding in the crowns of the trees, gazing down at intruders and the like. In some occasional trees were Vespiquens, the whole tree filled to the brim with surrounding Combees. But, they couldn’t do anything, for in the night the Dustox poisonous infestation reigned supreme. For in the night, nothing could infest the forest floor of Deep Infested Woods for the Poison Powder covering all. It didn’t seem like there was any way to proceed.
‘The infestation of Dustox is the worst one in Infested Woods,’ A woman spoke from next to Eryn, leaned against a tree. Eryn nor her Pokémon had even noticed her. ‘Left on its own, they’d migrate to the nightly lights of Pureplain City and cover the streets in Poison Powder. Fortunately, the Illumise “Queen” directs a few of her fastest Volbeats each night to distract the Dustoxs of Deep Infested Woods. Without that, there would have been nothing preventing the Dustox infestation from spreading. We don’t know exactly why “Queen” does this, but we’re thankful for it. Makes us tolerate her troublesome antics during daytime…’ The woman sighed. ‘But because of all this trouble contained in one wood, Infested Woods needs a full-time warden. … And that’s me.’
She stood, and turned towards Eryn. Behind her, still leaning at a tree was a fox-Pokémon staring into the fire at the end of her wand.
None of the magic, might I note. Just the woman.
Pokédex Entry #655 – Delphox, the Fox Pokémon. It uses the stick it carries as a wand. Using Psychic powers, Delphox manipulates fire and can fan the flames to over 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit. By gazing into the flame at the end of its wand, Delphox can see into the future.
Delphox takes the cake for Pokémon that looks the absolute worst with their image decreased in size.
‘I’m Laurinda. And you… are very deep inside a fairly dangerous wood. What are you looking for?’
Training among one’s own Pokémon is excellent for potentially figuring out and performing combos among your Pokémon or creating excuses for pulling of wild moves or preparing for whatever’s to come. In average, Qwerty and Basilisk both benefited from this training, getting more experience and perhaps getting to know one another a bit better. However, to gain actual levels they’ll need to battle enemies from the wider world~!
With the training done, they headed off towards the Silent Shrine!
Path to Silent Shrine
This on the inside of Silent Forest. To the left and right are two different parts of the forest, the right side considerably darker due to the rain-clouds overhead. The only real sounds that can be heard is that of the wind blowing through the forest and rustling its many leaves, otherwise it feels very silent and calm. This, with of course, the exception of the trainer coming sprinting down the path in the direction of the shrine waiting at the end. On the way, he might run path small surprised-looking green bulb-Pokémon looking past him as he run, or white cloud-like beings floating by him in the wind as he dashes by.
Pokédex Entry #548 – Petilil, the Bulb Pokémon. They prefer to live areas with moist, nutrient-rich soil. They’ve been known to be used by humans to find areas suitable for planting plants. The leaves on their heads come right back when plucked off, and while extremely bitter, they’re known to refresh a tired body.
Pokédex Entry #546 – Cottonee, the Cotton Puff Pokémon. They’re extremely light and mostly go where the wind guide them. They’re known to feel more at ease in a group, so they stick together with others of its kind and resemble clouds floating about. If attacked, they shoot cotton at their attacker to distract them.
… Of course, if any of those made Valen stop his dash, then it was totally alright and he can continue his actions from here. He just doesn’t need to open the below hider. Otherwise, he was free to continue dashing, eventually reaching the opening on the end of the path, and emerge in sight of…
Silent Shrine
While not necessarily at night, it’s a shrine inside the forest. Red pillars and walls adorned with white drapes and lantern statues stand to light up the area during night, and the place is clean and so. The air feels fresh and serene, and few sounds can be heard other than that of wind blowing through the nearby trees. The Silent Shrine does hold up to its name like that. However, also can be noted, there’s basically nothing here. It’s a spot important to locals and traditions say you should be praying at the shrine before your journey. The one thing that does stand out, is that there’s a guy manning a little shop on the side, selling small souvenirs of proof of having been here as well as leaflets telling the tales of this place of tradition.
Should he enter, he’ll find the shrine to be basically the same on the inside, a place with white walls held up by red pillars, and an altar to an unknown figure in the furthest in. There, one could pray to whatever it is should one desire.
However, before he could actually pray by the altar, there were two people standing in unconventionally fancy clothes right next it, talking to one another. One was a young girl with long cyan hair bound with a red ribbon into a ponytail wearing a green high-class something, her back was straight with the posture of a high-class secretary. The man who looked in his young twenties had red mildly spiky hair, a full suit with black tie, and he was smoking a cigarette with a bothered expression. All in all, not the attires one would usually go travelling with, and most assuredly not visiting shrines with.
‘… on the supposed “Shrine Triangle”?’ The girl asked fairly loudly, giving Valen a chance to overhear. She maintained her posture, but her face held an excited smile.
‘It was never relevant, so no.’ The man replied, gazing down at her with disinterest. Didn’t look like it was the first time he listened to her ramble about something.
‘There’s this shrine here, and there’s the Abandoned Shrine on Route 11. But, the legends of Rainrock City always refers to them as the “three shrines” of the guardian legends.’ The girl smiled wider, victory in her expression. ‘But for some reason, we only know of two, but the third is the one which is supposed to hold the secret of the guardians!’
The man raised an eyebrow as he breathed in a bit on his cigarette. ‘Oh? And so?’
‘So, since they’re the “Shrine Triangle”, I figure that we can find the last shrine ourselves! If we know where the Silent Shrine is, and where the Abandoned Shrine is, then trying to make a perfect triangle will place it either out at sea or- What I’m saying is, we can find the third shrine, we secure the guardian Pokémon that’s supposed to be there, and we achieve glory, all for Team Am-!’ The girl’s eyes shined as she went on with her plan, positively shining with ambition, when all of a sudden the guy thrust his cigarette into her mouth.
The girl’s mouth instinctively closed on the cigarette to keep it out, after which her eyes went wide in shock as her whole body recoiled and she leant away, caught in a coughing fit, trying to recover. Meanwhile, the guy… lifted his gaze and looked in roughly Valen’s direction.
‘Who goes there?’ He asked, eyes peering as he crumpled the used cigarette in his hand, while his companion was coughing badly at the side.
1. Escape. Whooops. Out of your league, retreat. 2. Hide. During the conversation, you hid to listen. He might not have noticed you. 3. Confront. For whatever reason, you wish to confront them. 4. Pass by. You’re just an unconcerned traveller. Walk by them to pray at the Silent Shrine. 5. Whatever you please. Heck, this a roleplay, who am I presenting you options!? Make your own options! XD
Claire moved down along the Mountain Valley towards…
Route 10
Route 10 is a route dedicated to the sustenance of the largest city in Isson, as well as in large part the other nearby larger cities. Throughout the route, depths of wet farmland stretch under an uncertain sky, where crops grow with unprecedented strength, supported by the might of Pokémon. The air is moist, the plants grow well, and the farmers walk around under the influence of Psychic powers. The roads in Route 10 lead in all directions, the Crossing over the waters beside Worldedge City to the Northern Landmass, through the Mountain Valley to Stillwood Village, or simply west or south to reach the farther areas.
The Pokémon walking about the fields are Drowzees, yet the air has quite a few birds. There are Spearows and Taillows gliding about feasting on the bugs these farmlands naturally attract. Digletts are used to tilt the earth to create the optimal environment for farming, Bronzongs float about causing the occasional shower of water, with Bronzors being trained to eventually evolve and join their number. Here and there walks a happy Mr. Mime or a Mime Jr., the older ones creating shields around the crops and the younger ones trying to mimic them and failing. It's quite clear from the mystical air that this is very much considered quite close to Worldedge City still.
There were a bunch of farmers in the fields as well, looking over the Pokémon and the potential threats.
Pokédex Entry #96 – Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon. It gains nourishment by consuming dreams. Fun or happy dreams are more delicious, and it can get a bad stomach from nightmares. In battle, it puts enemies to sleep and then eats their dreams. It remembers every dream it has eaten, and if you make friends with one it can show you its best dreams with psychic powers.
Pokédex Entry #21 – Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. It eats bugs in grassy areas. It cannot fly very high, but uses its wings to blow insects out of grass for easy pickings. It’s very territorial, and its reckless nature means it will stand up to even far tougher opponents to defend its claim. It has a loud cry it uses to warn other of its kind of danger.
Pokédex Entry #276 – Taillow, the Tiny Swallow Pokémon. Many Taillows are young, just leaving the nest, and may cry in loneliness at night. It feeds off bugs and crops in forests and plains. It’s a very gutsy Pokémon, known to bravely take on tough foes. It likes warmer climates and will migrate during cold seasons.
Pokédex Entry #50 – Diglett, the Mole Pokémon. They live underground and spend most of their time submerged. It’s weak to light, and will only pop up where shielded or in caves. They often exist a mere yard underground eating roots. They’re often raised on farms, because soil dug through by Digletts is left perfectly tilled for growing healthy crops.
Pokédex Entry #436 – Bronzor, the Bronze Pokémon. They were found in ancient tombs, and implements shaped like them are too. Ancient people seem to believe the pattern on their back had mysterious powers. They are closely related to mirrors in ancient writing, yet no surface of it is properly reflective. X-raying it, there’s nothing inside.
Pokédex Entry #437 – Bronzong, the Bronze Bell Pokémon. It caused a buzz when it was first dug up at a construction site after 2000 years. Dug up from the ground, these Pokémon were in ancient times revered as a bringer of rain and plentiful harvest. It can summon rain clouds, allegedly by opening portals to another world, it is said.
Pokédex Entry #439 – Mime Jr., the Mime Pokémon. It likes to gather among people. It’s known to mimic the expressions and motions of others in an attempt to understand them. In battle, it mimics its opponent in an attempt to confuse it, before quickly dashing off while they’re confused.
Pokédex Entry #122 – Mr. Mime, the Barrier Pokémon. A master pantomime, it practices constantly. It generates a mystic force from its fingers, creating an actual invisible wall by stopping air-molecules. Should it be disturbed during its act, it slaps with its broad, powerful palms. It enjoys conning people.
The cooperation here appeared to be that Digletts make the earth ready for harvest, the Bronzongs spawned the rain that gave the crops energy, and the Mr. Mimes defended the crops from things that would eat it. Then the Drowzees in Worldedge City were just so plentiful that the farmers put them to work wielding tools with their psychic abilities despite knowing their dreams are going to be so completely eaten come night.
And that’s how Route 10 worked.
… Over there, by himself, stood a fancily dressed man with a large, winged Pokémon near him. He had long hair, an orange hat with a green feather in it, the clothes looking way too fancy to actually dress in when travelling… He was most likely part of the richer cast of Isson, definitely given the ornate sword sheathed on his side. Especially considering his Pokémon, which looked like grace incarnate as it flew. He was battling a Spearow, which looked way below the level of its opponent.
Pokédex Entry #468 – Togekiss, the Jubilee Pokémon. It is attracted to peaceful regions, bringing gifts of kindness and blessings to those who respect the rights of others and avoid needless strife. It avoids places of strife, and has as such only been seen very rarely in Isson in recent years.
He just threw a Pokéball. It failed to catch the Pokémon. He commanded Tokekiss to Air Slash to weaken the Spearow. … Spearow has fainted! … The man has broken down crying!
Well. That aside. What’s Claire doing?
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. There are people around, travellers going along Route 10 towards Freecape or Raremine, or just the farmers exists too. 4. Talk. People can be chatted with. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Weird noble with Togekiss. … If Claire sees reason to associate with this guy, suppose he could.
Connected areas: Route 13. North-west, a dark route where electric-types gather for the nearby power-plant. Leads to Bigfjord City and further west. Worldedge City. North, the largest city in Isson, divided into many districts on top of one another made possible by Mt. Edge’s crooked physics. Crossing. East, a simple bridge over to Route 18 for those who don’t want to walk through Worldedge City and Mt. Edge. Mountain Valley. West, a passage between the ranges Mt. Strength and Mt. Chill, leading directly to Stillwood Village. Freecape Town. South-east, a cliffside town with excellent view and many birds. Home of the Freecape Ferrymen. Route 8. South, a pleasant cliffside walkway with hilly terrain and great view over the waters.
Name: Nika Alea Jolanda Andres Alias: Naja Age: 28 Nationality: Swiss Gender: Female Appearance: Naja is a decently tall woman at 178 cm, 5’10’’. Due to training her entire life she’s muscular and athletic, somewhat slim at her waist but with remarkable size of chest. Her hair is long and dark, typically tied behind her so it doesn’t get in the way of fighting. She likes simple and tight clothing that consists of t-shirts and shorts, anything else is busted while she’s fighting. Her arms and legs are mechanic, making her a cyborg, albeit except her limbs she’s human.
History: Nika was born the daughter of a CEO of a super-cooperation capable of fantastic things stationed in Switzerland. However, Nika was not interested in corporate drivel, she had a big brother that was going to take over the company, anyway. She was going to live like a normal little girl. … That changed when she was kidnapped and held for ransom against her father. He paid it and the criminals held their word and let her go, but as she was hugged against her father’s chest, all Nika could think of was how her father had proved that holding her for ransom was an established way to earn money from him. She was his weakness… and damn it if she was going to be the damsel in distress again.
So she trained, in numerous different fighting styles. The one she proved the best in was savate, combining English boxing with graceful kicking techniques. Throughout her teens she proved to be an admirable combatant, winning numerous competitions and growing in aptitude. At some point she travelled to China to learn under a master of baji quan, combining the range of savate with the close-range explosive power of the chinese martial art. The same master also had her learn extensive meditative techniques so that she may one day master the arts of chi… but her master feared she was too violent a soul to ever truly learn the fine art, and should probably see a shrink instead.
Then, one day it happened. A team of villains intended on repeating the feat of kidnapping Nika and holding her for ransom against her father. It was the day she had been training for all along. Against five notorious villains, Nika managed to cripple two and snap the neck of one. Unfortunately, taking on all five at the same time proved too much and she was captured by the remaining two. Furious and vengeful, the villains mutilated her arms and legs, to prove to the world that nobody messes with them and their allies, before once again holding her for ransom. This time, however, her father hired experts to hunt down the villains and destroy them instead of paying the ransom.
However, someone had seen how capable Nika had been. How she had dealt with three out of five of those rather exceptional villains. Letting a talent like that go to waste would be a mighty shame, now, wouldn’t it? … So. In exchange for her doing their requests when they had them, they were willing to give Nika a boost. They developed cybernetic limbs for her, replacing her mutilated limbs and making cybernetic improvements where they could all across her natural body as well. They noticed her latent chi abilities, and gave her arms and legs that could use them. They then gave her missions, which she went on under a new name. Naja. … The new name is really just to disguise her past.
When she got of age she volunteered for the swiss army, went through their army training and then departed. Since then she’s been showing up at different places around the world, cleaning out towns for a combination of righteousness, money and the challenge, to see how far she can get. Occasionally she’s also acted bodyguard or assassin for the company which gave her the metal limbs she carries, but they’ve been intelligent enough to pick morally justified missions so she stayed loyal. Over the years she has garnered a reputation, one strong enough that Eve Roulette had heard of her and called upon her when New Carona needed cleaning up. Naja was more than willing to come help out.
Personality
Motivations: Pretty simple. Naja seeks a greater challenge, to beat the nerves into people who has it coming and to get paid for her work. Somewhere on her mind is a desire to break free of the debt she owes the company that made her limbs. Sexuality: Straight. Likes:
Exceptionally good food.
Her own hair and body, she’s proud of it
Guys as strong as her who’re “cool” about it
Big brother, dad, her martial arts masters
Dislikes:
Hot-shots, chads, that kind
Machines, and her reliance on them
Anger-issues and things that provoke her
Most forms of entertainment (wastes of time used to pacify a population)
People who thinks it’s okay to be five minutes late
General: Stoic and cold, but not foolhardy. She knows the value of comrades when the going gets tough. Prone to anger, albeit she’s aware this is a problem and is trying to deal with it. Will attempt to get along with others well enough. Can find things funny and smile, though it isn’t really a motion she’s used to. She doesn’t normally seek social interaction, but when she does she does so confidently and doesn’t really care what others may think of her. A decent enough woman that occasionally enjoys mild flirting but often enough has her day way too busy trying to uproot criminals. She’s competitive and enjoys a good brawl. Yupp.
Fighting Arts
Skills: Partly because of her father’s company and partly because she now has metal limbs, Naja learned a decent amount of engineering as well as metal working. She could do maintenance on herself if something’s feeling off or damaged, and that also allows her to work on many other machines if so needed. Don’t expect her to pull off a miracle, but she’s competent. She knows Swiss German, French and English.
Fighting Style: Savate is a french martial art combining English boxing with kicks. Described as “fencing with hands and feet”, it combines western boxing with precision kicks to a body’s vital points. Naja uses street-level Savate du Rue, the street-fighting version not for competition, meaning she throws in knee and elbow strikes along with locks, sweeps, throws, headbutts, and takedowns where applicable. It’s a style developed for efficiency, it bolsters great self-defense, effective on a longer range than typical boxing. It strikes with combinations and feints, keeping the opponent off-guard with sophisticated footwork.
Baji Quan is a chinese martial art focusing on making use of the strongest parts of the body. When you hit, it is with your whole body, making for exceptionally strong strikes. It actively discourages moving backwards, you always either stop the enemy where you are or advancing at the enemy. It teaches stomping in a way to overwhelm enemies of larger mass. It is a close-range high-power art called the art of courage since you need to get so close as to hit with your elbow against their ribs, but it has an excellent array of disarming guards, grips and strategies to get in that close. It relies in the impact to take down the enemy.
So, Naja uses savate baji quan. It’s a hybrid martial art which uses the long kicks and punches of savate to keep an enemy at a distance and then, when they try to break through to where savate would be weaker she switches to the close-range power of the baji quan. Then, of course, there’s her cybernetic enhancement. While the base of her body remains human, her knees and elbows are mechanic and fueled by mechanic strength, powering her up with speed and ferocity. In addition, they serve as conduits of her chi, allowing them to shoot out her latent power for distant blasts or to propel her through the air.
As for how she fights. Naja’s an adaptive fighter that has no preference between reacting and counter-attacking or charging directly at the foe if she gauges that the best available move. She has plenty of savate plays to keep enemies at range or counter-attack and baji quan disabling grips should enemies attack first, but she also has significant speed and ability to charge in close for explosive baji quan hits to take out enemies in one shot if they’re too slow.
As part of her baji quan training she got fairly accomplished using spears, swords, staffs and numerous other weapons, but she frankly prefers her fists and legs. She’s also capable with guns from her time in the army, though she’s no marksman. Naja’s waaaay more capable with her limbs than she is with any weapons.
Weaknesses: If her enemies outrange her, are faster than her or plainly are more skilled, then it doesn’t matter how strong Naja’s cybernetic enhancements make her. She needs to close the range, and if she can’t do that then she’s forced to take attacks, and her torso is still human and takes damage as a human.
Furthermore, Naja’s prone to anger. She quickly gets frustrated, annoyed or ticked off by an enemy who proves to be stubborn or taunts her during the course of a battle. This can cause her to make rash and dangerous decisions which her enemies can take advantage of, despite her otherwise being relatively intelligent.
Also, the fact her limbs are metal is a long-term weakness. It means she cannot make them stronger by sheer training, though she trains what remains of her body extensively. They also don’t naturally heal if they’re damaged, and needs to be seen my an expert.
Special Techniques:Bolstered Spear - A chi blast shot over a distance. It can also propel Naja herself in the opposite direction to attack an opponent with deadly ferocity using a baji quan technique. It takes the shape of a single burst of medium-range chi, range around a couple meters, after which the chi disperses. Doesn’t outrange an actual distance-attack, but it sure has longer range than a fist and can surprise people. Basically Lucario’s side-B, Force Palm, as it’s used in Smash Bros, though with longer range.
Thunder Axe - A kick from above enhanced with the boost of chi blasted upwards while weight, recoil and muscle all cooperate to bring Naja’s leg into what’s under. An aura of chi surrounds her leg as she kicks down, making the <hitbox> way larger than just her leg. The impact-force is probably enough to crack whatever ground is immediately beneath Naja, though it doesn’t need to be used along gravity. It’s just the most effective.
Blood Bomb - Naja reverses the chi in her limbs to charge back into her, causing a burst of chi which sends nearby enemies flying in the opposite direction. Does some damage to Naja as well, but it allows her to escape otherwise very painful situations if an enemy is about to commit to a combo on her. Also effective if she’s being surrounded, as the pulse goes in all directions. There is a delay before she can move again after the pulse, this is no combo move.
Super Arts:Surging Swords - Done at high speed. Naja surges forward at exceptional speed by bursting chi behind her, before slamming into the enemy with a kick or punch or so. Except, she hits with a controlled amount of force with constant acceleration that she constantly outpaces the speed she launched her foe, allowing her to deliver hit after hit after hit after hit after hit after hit, all while constantly accelerating both herself and the enemy. Finally, either by slamming them both against a wall or just passing above and slamming the enemy into the ground, she delivers the final blow against the enemy with the ultimate one-shot punch of baji quan, probably with significant pulse of chi amplifying it, bringing both herself and the enemy to a stop. A regular human has no place surviving a blow like that. Honestly, it damages Naja too, but Naja’s tough.

Equipment: Her arms and legs are mechanical, starting just before her elbows and knees. They were created by some super-company on par with her father’s. They enhance her strength and speed, as well as contains a conduit for her chi, which she wasn’t able to properly use without them. They have engines powered by said chi allowing her to propel her limbs or herself for stronger attacks or greater speed.
Other: I didn’t write much detail on the company that made her limbs that she owes a debt. That’s because I invite it to potentially be the same organization that’s in ANY other backstory of any other character, doesn’t even need to be a company. If she and another character are linked by whatever people these are, I think that’d be cool. I can totally rewrite parts of her backstory to make that fit.
If any character is old enough, I also invite that they might be among the experts that saved her life after she had been captured by a couple villains, or perhaps THE expert. Would be cool to potentially recognize the one who saved her life that one time. Otherwise, it is totally likely that she has ran into the other characters on any other normal missions. After all, I did make her pretty well known.

Storms were heading in towards Penrose. Tornadoes chasing towards the buildings of the public while so many Magical Girls were converging on the origin of the magic…
Lea stood in mid-air, high over the city, glaring at the incoming storms. An elfin form with butterflies leaking off her clothes and flying about her. She really didn’t want to interfere with the natural workings of this city, or show off her capabilities… but there really was too few Magical Girls fighting to defend the city against these storms. If nothing was done, then the city may be destroyed far before the Magical Girls could stop the source. This city would take damage that wouldn’t be repaired for numerous years… that just wouldn’t do. Asengav had invested in this city. Lea was NOT about to let it be destroyed because some OTHER Horror had a plan in the works!
The Windfall Sprite blew forth at magnificent speed towards the nearest tornado. Upon reaching it, she let a burst of wind blow forth against its own flow, her magic charging to disrupt the formation of the destructive weather phenomenon. It might require a few bursts, but the Magical Girl summoned her Wind-specialization and scattered it to still the air around her… and eventually it worked, that particular tornado was no more, the wind in the immediate area slowed to a stand-still. … But that was far from the only one that was approaching. If nobody stopped what was going on, Lea herself would most certainly be insufficient eventually.
‘Tsk… we don’t want to fight another Horror. Are we left to hope the powers of the local Magical Girls are enough…?’ Lea asked herself, glaring back… Wasn’t there someone…?

‘Wo-o-oaaahahahaha…!’ Mayra laughed, the scaly monster-girl looking up at the present storms from a rooftop. She had actually gotten up here in order to look at (and possibly intrude upon) the meeting with Cindy Ford, but she’d been greeted by something so much bigger! Tornadoes and promises of destruction and whatnot! ‘Awesome! This city is awesome!’ she called for herself. This last week and something she’d been staying at Su’s, mainly just being a nuisance and wanted to hang out all the time and ask all sorts of questions and wanted to get involved in every kind of fight that had been going on. But, this was something extra…!
Huh? She knew that piece of green over there, looking like a tiny fairy in the distance. ‘Oh, it’s Lea! Heeeeeeeeey, Lea!’ Mayra waved at her, utterly unconcerned. ‘Huh?’ Lea was pointing at something. First now did Mayra become aware that there was black smoke surrounding the graveyard, and a ton of Magical Girls that were heading in… ‘Oh-wow, oh-wow, oh-wow, oh-wow! It’s becoming a giant brawl!? A huge free-for-all!? That… that’s so awesome…!’ She turned and grinned at Lea, knowing that Lea probably would never allow her to go there. Mayra thought of going anyway~
Huh? Lea was staring at her. Mayra blinked in surprise, pointed at herself, then pointed at the smoke.
In the vast distance, Lea nodded to her. Mayra’s excitement, chest and eyebrows all rose high.
‘DON’T START WITHOUT ME!’ Mayra launched herself with fire straight off the building, sending herself flying across town to come crashing down into the black mist.
‘Keh-heh!’ laughed a little witch in purple and dark clothing with a small round purple/pink creature flying by her head. She was inside a building in Penrose, accessible only from the balcony outside, and currently utterly unconcerned with the storm going on outside. Within, she was furnishing with magical artifacts and weapons that she had collected over time, as well as some donated by Cindy Ford in order to buy her allegiance. ‘Soon, I’ll be ready! I’ll be opening my grand magical store in Penrose! Oooh, I should get into contact with Penrose Independant, see if I can place an add for my grand opening!’ She jumped up onto the table next to her cash register (for magical cash) and pointed up excitedly towards the ceiling.
‘Brittany Todd’s Magical Market for artifacts, weapons and divination will soon be open for public! It’ll be the best, Agatha!’ she announced to her Lesser Force patron, oh, so, happily.
‘Damn straight! Keh-heh-heh!’ Brittany laughed. She then looked around at the different shelves… ‘… Though to be honest, the shelves are still pretty bare. If only magical artifacts weren’t so rare. Keh-heh, guess they wouldn’t sell so well if they weren’t!’ And so, Brittany chuckled for herself as she stood on the register bench…
That’s when the door opened.
‘Wow! I’ve never seen so many magical artifacts in one place! This is truly a store in the making, huh?’ called a bubbly voice.
Brittany spun around and assumed an immediate fighting stance, eyes wide and alarmed. Before her stood an energetic-seeming yellow-haired short magical girl with long twin-tails and a sword on her back, pretty innocent looking, alongside the most terrifying-looking monster girl she had ever laid her eyes upon.
‘Wh-what are you doing here!? Th-the store’s not open yet!’ Brittany shouted out at them, clearly alarmed, Agatha taking a stance on her shoulder, just in case.
‘Oh, but we heard what you were setting up so we thought we’d come in and take a look!’ Josefin said with a happy tone while Taihei advanced slowly, looking around herself with a blank look on her face.
‘Come back when we’re open!’ Brittany shouted to them, now frowning. ‘I’m warning you, any attempt to steal my wares - and I’ll know, I’m Psychic Specialized - and you’ll not only face the power of my magnificent magic, but you’ll also be marked for death by Mistress Cindy, not to mention immediately targeted by the full might of the Lesser Force Agatha, right here on my shoulder!’ With that call, the purple/pink creature that was Agatha swelled to take up the majority of the available space above Brittany, pulsing with power.
‘ ’ Agatha called.
‘W-wait, hold on, that’s not-’ Josefin started, suddenly panicking and raising her hands in a panicked motion.
‘You’re misunderstanding,’ Taihei calmly stated, pulling a bag that had been wrapped around her shoulder. ‘We’re not here to be either thieves nor customers…’ she said, opening the bag’s top and turning it upside down. Brittany’s eyes went wide.
‘We want to be your suppliers,’ Taihei calmly stated, as a considerable amount of magical artifacts spilled down on the floor… Josefin giggled a bit by the side as Brittany watched the spectacle in awe. Then, the little witch smiled oh, so widely. There had to be some spirit of luck looking out for her after all.
Then an artifact at Taihei’s feet exploded and several of the other artifact’s effects also took shape, suddenly leaving Taihei 50% smaller, deaf, purple, flammable and on fire. As Taihei muttered that she should have seen that coming, a stray tornado suddenly took off the roof JUST before Lea could finish the tornado off and threw them all out on the street next to them (and obviously that also was the only building hurt by said tornado), leaving Brittany and Josefin scurrying to pick up all the artifacts while Taihei bid her farewell before her terrible luck could mess things up further. Josefin and Brittany would then start negotiating the deal by themselves.

Mariette sat silently in one of the chairs of an empty apartment, watching through small portals as the events of the day were unfolding. Held to one of her ears was a small phone, listening to the reports of what was going on across town. Lea was fighting off tornadoes, Mayra was their somewhat expendable recruit that would tip the likelihood just a bit towards their hopeful success while hopefully being tough enough not to die, Josefin and Taihei followed the tip which they’d received by phone a while earlier, and the rest…
Jelena and Victoria were backups, while Freya, Suzette and Tullia was once again preparing something as the city of Penrose was distracted. That made the second time they were setting something up while the city was distracted. If they could keep that up… well, suppose this didn’t need to be so difficult after all.
Mariette stood up. She had someone she wanted to talk to today, after all. A small warning to deliver…
