Syraeia Leela “Sy-a” Inn Keeper

Dawn Haven _ “Bath House”

Snuggle Snakey times! With thr Blightborn Simmmer society's Soak

Now with 50% more blood alcohol content.

Sya was used to reading people, it was a skill that had kept her alive, a vital skill of her new trade and something most blighborn had to possess out of sheer survival. She could tell kiara was uncomfortable, or just not open and that was fine, Sya was probably. Definitely more open than she would have been had she not drunk so much and been so emotional in the past short time.

She told her story and felt safe doing it, they were similar in a sense and all had their deep scars and wounds that ran to their hearts. They all had faced the darkness and the Blights attempts to make them abandon humanity and they had not yielded to it. “Thankyou Kiara, I'm just trying my best, we just launched a new bakery, and distillery. Becky, well.. me…Vala. Are not the best to judge cooking so she runs the kitchens mostly. They seem to be popular, you're both always welcome.” Sya said proudly but also with a blush, she was not so used to praise and drank from the bottle before passing it back round the group. She knew when to use her blightborn and human staff to their strengths, she had quickly learned that she could make great advantage from both working together.

She made a surprisingly playful gesture and used her tail to splash Kiara and Orion a little, she definitely was not sober… but she smiled and her emotions had been for now, more playful and her trust evident her tail began to mirror her hand gestures more. “Hey, I cannot deny I like them taller, wrap me up and make me feel safe.” Sya's cheeky side broke though from a deeper part of her and old memory returned.

Sya mind ran back to a day long ago, a warm summer's evening when she ended up sat wrapping his hand, she had not meant to hurt him but watching him shirtless, sweating, working and hammering nails into the stables door… She had been a little too flirty and distracting as he hit his hand and took a week to lose the bruising. She had taken him back to her home and helped him much to her mothers gentle smile of her head watching her daughter so carefully wrapping his hurt hand she claimed not to be flirting with all while sitting on his lap. Being short was certainly helpful that day, she claimed it was because she needed the light, but really because she liked it.

Her mind snapped back to the present and Sya looked up at the moon and stars in the sky, of eternal night. “Who says I don't mind a pretty ssssstable girl too. Or fearsome warrior princessss herbalist… zi do no lt bite but i like to ssssnugle. My scales are very Ssssmooth and quite comfortable.” Sya said with an exaggerated hiss and a wink. After everything that happened to her she had a former lover of female kind who was hardly a problem in a world of eternal night, having been reborn from the dead and ending up a Lamia. She fiddled with a necklace a little before answering, a simple metal hammer on a leather cord, nothing fancy from a Dawn Haven market stall.

“We try, I'll expect you more often then, I can see if I can get the wine you like. I'm sure the Prince paysss you nicely. Il help lighten that Purssse. Gold is heavy, and i not mimd helping.” Sya made a cheeky proposal, not the flirty kind but forward, Sya was a little abnormal, alot abnormal as she worked also to try and control the hiss in her voice. Sya Stable…no, but she was acting more like Sya again thinks to these too, and a sign why she had worked well at the Inn.

Trying to lead Kira to safe ground was harder challenge for Sya, she did not know her well, or deeply… she was a independent person and from what Sya knew kept her own circles. “Anyone know if that … man.. was right about his claims? Surely if you think like…that…why come… here?

I'm…not sure if he is…kinda… like a few hammers short of a smithy.”
Sya asked casually though she was rather interested in the answer and they likely could see through her approach to try to sidestep an awkward moment for Kira.

“You know there's a few women who think your handsome in the rall, vampire, dark romance vibe. Even more if they knew you had Abs like those.” She brought her teasing expression back to Orion, deciding that Kira was someone who was not to be rushed into unlocking the layers. She had seen ernough to know he was certainly not a disappointing view when he came to save her.

Name: Post Captain Hamelin Le Marinier
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Nationality: Favis
Appearance: A taller man and bearded to hide the Scars from his injuries that caused his active retirement. Right eye is glass or an eyepatch depending on comfort and part of his right hand is a mechanical prostatic from a blast injury.

Has a number of miscellaneous scars from said explosion on his right side.

Personal Effects:
.455 Favis Heavy pattern Navy Revolver
Favis Diplomatic papers
Old Riggers Knife and spike.
Silver plated hip flask with Whiskey.
Navy wool overcoat.
1 glass right eye, 1 eye patch, 1 Right partial hand prosthetic
A folded bundle of small maps and a simple small metal compass.

History:

What is your job:
Former active Naval gunnery Officer and Diplomatic mission staffer from Favis..

Born into a long family of sailors from pirates to merchants and even the odd privateer down the family history it was almost expected that he would serve, sail in some way related to the sea. Hamelin did not disappoint and joined the Favis Navy as a junior midshipman when the chance was first available.

Though minor nobility their Title meant little more than a long family history, a coat of arms and a large home that cost too much to heat but they also refused to sell, a sense of pride and also the old stone building had withstood the centuries as their protector from storms, conflict and more unnumbered. It was this family that shaped the officer who rose in the Royal Flavis Navy, showing promise and being assigned first as a navigation officer until his real talent as a gunnery commander was revealed.

Success began to follow success until he was aboard the heavy dreadnought class, Hammer of Vich', a large ship clad in iron and steel, mounting the heaviest and most powerful armaments Flavis Forges and war smiths could craft. It lead the fleet forward befitting its name, fire, fury and wrath where exchanged without mercy or pause.

It was In B main turret an anti armour shell slammed into a plate already weakened by several hits from a heavy cruiser that lingered close exchanging close fire but losing it was when his world went black and his memory only returned aboard a land based hospital after the battle taken away by the the hospital ship Mercy of the Angel then to the main Naval hospital.

Victory came at a price for all, for our noble office it came high. His hand was a mass of bandages, Half his face was too. Shrapnel from the hit that buckled the turret's side sending a wave of steel into space and leaving grievous wounds and death to many. 1 man in 20 got out walking.

Decorated, promoted, His active career was over, honourable service meant he had a choice, a quiet retirement or to take what job was available and serve behind the desk instead of gunplot. Hamerlin chose to stay and soon his command was a desk in a comfortable enough office building trying to learn how to use his new hand and adapt to a single eye after a long stay in hospital.

Years passed.

Years passed and Hamerlin now held a role in the Embassy to a semi allied nation, their Naval attache, his job was not what he wanted, to have commanded warships, maybe even fleets but he had found at least a life that kept him from getting bored. He still was an expert at reading maps, able to calculate terrain, elevations, and transform the 2D into a 3D puzzle to crack complex tables and calculations easily. Those skills he kept, advising on situations and attending various events on behalf of the nation he served.

He rose to Post Captain on both seniority and merit, he was unlikely to make a flag but he had risen as far as a land based officer likely could. His rank also came with responsibilities and pressures that he had not shouldered before but privilege was never freely given.

Fire came.

Forts, defence lines and established defensive plans expected to hold the enemy for weeks, months if not drive them to utter stalemate buckled and broke far faster than anyone could have believed and soon the Capital rang with guns before even people could move to escape. The armies of the Red tide could not be held back as they began to pound the city, their batteries and heavy siege armies now able to dig, bombard and break the final defences before all was consumed.

Expecting no such army to obey the Diplomatic niceties, he grabbed what he could, his pistol and so from his drawer, stuffing ammo where he could, his knife and a few other things before he left. He would find his own way out and he believed he saw one last do or die plan in his eye. He was likely dead anyway so a small chance of success was more than none.

He had carefully studied the city and its plan, its maps, layout and what he helped would save his life. He made for his desperate plan, avoiding those places he knew would likely be main targets, and navigated his way to the last escape route he could devise.

Syraeia Leela “Sy-a” Inn Keeper

Dawn Haven _ “Bath House”

Snuggle Snakey times! With thr Blightborn Simmmer society's Soak

Now with 50% more blood alcohol content. Plus snakey secrets.

Sya listened quietly as she made herself fully comfortable letting her own tail be used to rest against and lying partly on her side, plus the amount she drank was more than enough to make the woman tipsy. Sya, Eris, Ayel had all hit her harder than one thing and all 3 had been too much to handle in such a short time. it felt strange but good as she quietly nodded and learned, she still had an innkeeper! No matter what Ayel said, it was her Inn.

She was respectful and let him tell his story unbroken, it seemed she felt more kinship to the noble advisor than she thought was possible. Kiara who always seemed more of a loner and heavily guarded, like many she probably had trauma that ran deep and ws hard to break. He had suffered similar trials and the Prince had some quiet virtues she recognised from her own experience that was more than a one off charity and a deeper aspect of his personality. As she tended to Inn and did not have such a personal relationship Sya did not access him in such a less guarded manner, when he was out and about he was the Prince, leader and entirely confident man who formed the town.

Sya looked over at them a little curious With her big blue eye, closed it and then reopened making her decision. The alcohol in her system was probably helping this, definitely helping her open this side of her. She was speaking softly and her voice switched more native to her language. “I.. I.. I am from a region that no longer exists, it's all blight, I'm probably in all certainty the last of my kin.

Thornsrock, the castle sat upon a high rocky lump I guess, the settlement below, villages about, a Border Lord, we traded with Auralia. It's all ruins and ash now.”

Sya opened up and explained in more detail so her later part made more sense, she had to explain… she had to make it make sense. “Its… not quite the same. My Father was a blacksmith, he made fine work, and likely would have prospered more somewhere in the Kingdoms.

When I… changed and woke up, well… like I am, before I changed again. He was working on a commission for a lordssss son, I have that blade, it kept me alive, when I came across the Prince too. I had to face it all alone, the woods whispered, such terrible things, i fled… i… do not enter those cursed lands. I hear the darkness there or so it seems. Its malignant and…. Wrong. I'm not sure how I made it to be honest. Just another step.”
She said her story running back to a point of Orions.

Sya did not easily admit that she could sense the blight when she was in fallen lands, they tried to lure her, make her forget her mind and humanity. It tried to drag her down into the darkness and the despair that emanated from the miles of fallen towns, dead forests and miles of twisted and corrupted farm lands.

“The Prince saved me, He gave me a chance, he seems to have a rare noble soul. I helped run the smithy book, paid people, and collected money. Inbetween distracting a cute stable boy who grew into a handsome man and a farrier.” Sya gave a sad yet also soft sigh about that memory, if the blight had not come they might have made a life together.

“He had excellent fingers and learned how to use them, comfortingly muscled to cuddle to. He grew up very nicely, tall enough to tip toe.” Sya said with a cheeky grin to Kiara, much as she did not know her well, her more playful, impulsive side came out more like the old Sya. “I'm sure you know what I mean.” She added a little more conspiratoriality to the other woman.

She paused, unsure what to say, she rarely ever was this open or detailed about her past but present company felt right, it felt therapeutic to let her secrets out. “So, I kind of took over the Inn, he seemed to think i fit, as much as fit anywhere these days. He trusted me, even as an blightborn.” Sya said with a snort, waving her tails more slender, tip out the water playfully saying hello showing her heart began to ease a little.

It also grew more animated acting alongside her emotions and actions vs hiding and being far more passive before.

Thankyou, for reminding me, i'm not a monster, even if others seem to be in shock or scared. I hope Eris remains my friend, i come to enjoy her company these past weeks. Gadez is a challenge but she is.. different. ” Sya said with deep thanks, she needed this and needed to let her feelings out. She felt calmer now and the tension visible in tail plus her bright blue eye that could not hide emotions or her mental state.

The snake woman breathed more slowly and easily as she watched them with her bright blue Single eye, more of the spark of curiosity and Sya nature that made her place the Inn.
