Iraleth Kyrios

Huh. She'd been expecting someone more...seasoned. Certainly not a teacher only three years older than her. And damned well not someone that tripped over his own two feet so easily. Or were academic types just this naturally scatterbrained overall? Plus he was evidently just having breakfast now. She'd concerned herself over preparing for this? Iraleth managed to keep an incredulous look off her face by virtue of the fact that at the very least, their new teacher's first day syllabus at least seemed sensible.

As for the introduction...was this truly necessary? Most of the people within this room were at least vaguely familiar with each other already. And besides, it just seemed juvenile. Still, this was their assigned instructor. Like it or not, he had authority in this situation. So after Hildegund and Chunji made their introductions, Iraleth dutifully raised her hand for a moment, lowering it once she began speaking.

"Iraleth Kyrios, age nineteen. There exists a local festival that should be taking place in this region within a moon or so. However, thanks to the ongoing blackouts, this year's celebration may be cancelled altogether. I hope to become as able a knight as possible so as to serve the church and Vaal Nero."
Renar Hagen

Cocky little bint. Renar afforded Gertrude an amused smirk. At least he understood where she was coming from. Give someone a taste of power and they think they're on top of the world. Was this why Merilla stuck her in with the Roses? To give her a taste of humility? Well, it wasn't much of his problem in the end, barring the girl's attitude.

"We're all bound to one sort of shackle or another. That's reality. If you were a free woman, would you be placed in this situation by Merilla?" His smile turned bitter.

Speaking of attitude, their latest recruit before this one was trying to salvage the situation. Hah. Good luck with that. If the demon girl didn't command mind magics, he wouldn't be able to take her seriously at all. Fortunate for her that she did, then.

"Oh, I've no problem with this fresh start of yours." Renar kept his insincere smile up as he glanced at Amy. "As to whether she does, well, I see you've so graciously volunteered to find out." Something he heard barely in earshot afforded him an opportunity to wash his hands of this whole mess for now. Let Amy deal with the little harpy. Sufficient payback for the nonsense with his cloak the last time they rode out from Candaeln. "I'm merely going to join my good friend Ser Gerard for a bite to eat. Try not to call anyone a dunce or anything sufficiently offensive in that regard, Dame Amy."

With that said, Renar turned with a swish of his cloak and made his way towards Gerard, falling in step beside him.

"Right, I tried." He murmured aside to his friend as they walked. "The bloody girl better be useful, if she's going to be like this."

Upon arrival in the kitchens, Renar's expression turned stony as he beheld who was awaiting them. Oh, Sir Parvan wasn't an issue, but...

"Edwin." He said flatly, not even affording him a knight's honorific. "Do try not to assault my ears with anything particularly idiotic this time, would you? I may test that ability to not die in here just to escape your blathering."

Am fine with Discord too, yeah.

Probably easier to figure out relationships there, but I know I'd at least be hoping for someone to be a particularly close friend to Silje. Maybe the first one she made during training? Someone she can fuss over, listen to at the end of the way, bother endlessly, you know, the works.

Maybe someone she'd try to teach a thing or two about Mist, too? Whether because the other party asked her to, or because she dictated they need the help. She might not be entirely helpful.

Will mull over more stuff once we got our crew in.

I think it'd be funny if Silje and Kalina were particularly close since they have the same issue (social incompetence) but manifest it in opposite ways. At the very least, Kalina doesn't really give a shit about being bothered if Silje's talking nonstop at her.
I'm fine with having a discord, it makes sorting stuff out faster
Iraleth Kyrios

Iraleth could feel the influx of essence from the moment she stepped into the room. She paused for a moment, taking it in. How gratuitous. At the very least, Wingram was sparing no expense in this matter. Even the facilities available in Vaal Nero's cathedral hadn't matched up to this. The half-elf resisted the urge to let out a low whistle, and continued on into the room. She found her seat easily enough, marked in the center row towards the right, and promptly sat her plated behind down in it, reaching into her bag to extract her study materials.

Classroom and book learning had never been a strength of hers. Even learning scriptures as part of her religious education had been trying, and arguably the most difficult part of her path towards becoming an Astran paladin. That only meant she had to focus and try harder. There were a few minutes left before class was supposed to begin, but it didn't hurt to prepare now.

Though it was difficult to get into the right mindset to focus when Iraleth could practically feel eyes on her every now and then. She looked up and glanced around for a moment only to catch...ah. The girl with the crippling Ethos. Otis was seemingly trying to bargain with her for a change of seating, so Iraleth only settled for dryly raising an eyebrow at Chloe, waiting to see how she would respond. What, was the other half-elf sore over Iraleth's easy defeat of her yesterday? If so, it was just karma for how Chloe had been treating those she'd defeated before Iraleth arrived on the scene.
Role-wise I think I'm settling on a gunblade frontliner. Sheet should be up within a day or two, hopefully.
Ranbu no Izayoi

In all honesty, Izayoi was more than surprised that this situation wasn't about to end in violence. For a moment, she found herself disappointed. She wouldn't have blamed Galahad a single whit should he have decided to heed his father's call, but it seemed sense won out in the end.

Still, the fact that the remainder of their party set themselves against Artorias did bring some measure of reassurance to Izayoi. Well, Arton did, at least. Eliane was simply insisting on making a nuisance of herself. Given that Izayoi wasn't the host, nor did she care about offending the aforementioned, it wasn't her problem.

"If you insist." She nodded in response to the dragoon's words, following him as the party made to leave. Her night wasn't quite over yet, if Galahad's insistence was any indication, but at least she wouldn't be spending any more of it in such intolerable company.

___

The lodge was well-furnished and empty, resembling a knight's chapterhouse more than any hunter's home of the sort. Rich tapestries and dragon skull trophies aligned the walls, with plenty of lighting by way of candles and lanterns. By the time Eliane checked her effects, she would find a note on her person that certainly hadn't been there at any point in time she'd noticed before. On inspection, it opened to reveal the Skaelian royal insignia, along with SEED's emblem. It read:

Dame Commander Laruelle,

Destroy this message upon reading its contents. For the duration of your operation, you are under SEED's purview. This will be forwarded to Overseer Baramoux at the earliest possible time. Your orders are as follows:

Every single one of your companions is of interest to the security of the Skaelian crown. If you find actionable intelligence upon any of them that would be of detriment to Skael, it is your duty to report such. Of particular note is the mercenary referred to as Arton Yule. Any discrepancies regarding him are of highest priority to call in.

Following the directive was a detailed set of instructions regarding where to send information by courier and by what channels. At the end, the command to destroy the message upon memorizing it was issued again.

By the next morning's dawn, Goug waited for the party in the lodge's common room, lifting a mug of coffee with both his hands.

"Top of the morning, kupo! There's staff with breakfast out shortly, then we ought to be on the road again. Just let me know when you want us to set off, kupo."
Shinozaki Yurie

"Ow! Bitch!" Yurie hissed in annoyance as she was bonked on the head, scowling up at D'arcmon while rubbing the spot where she was hit. Her irritation, however, was summarily forgotten about as the angels went on. The advancement of human techology wound up creating an entirely different world? What the fuck? Well, points for creativity, at least. Even if this was some sort of insane hallucination brought on by too much energy drinks and Strong Zero, what else was she going to be able to do but play along? Like it or not, this was where she was at.

These specific artificial intelligences apparently took the form of Christian imagery...what, were they derived from TempleOS's data? Still, at least this was somewhat familiar territory for her.

"Alright, saying I buy this," Yurie finally let up on her scowl at the female angel, instead looking at both in turn. "If you're all just, what, AIs? This whole potential thing. How? You want us to just screw with your registry until you're stronger? Actually, second question: which Digimon? You guys?"

She paused, looking to MagnaAngemon specifically.

"You could already hit us with a universal translator, so it can't be as easy as getting us to just open up the command line. How do you do that, anyway? And what code are you running on?"
