@The Elvenqueen Viggo is fucking gorgeous and he can conquer my virgin hetero butthole anytime he likes. Aragorn less so. I personally don't like the Ranger as a character.

My preference is toward average/ugly characters (plus for Fantasy I like to douse myself in the historical styles; powdered wigs and lace and pantaloons and all!), but pretty people are fine, if that's not their entire purpose to the story. "Fangirlism" notwithstanding, why would you treat RP as nothing more than a wet dream in the written word? Why would you object to realism, which, yes, includes most people in the world being slightly above or below average, and certainly not fucking supermodels and A-list actors?

The portrait you supplied doesn't even look older though?

This is exactly what tipped me off, lol. Even with the pedostache he looks thirty at most.

If anyone wants to look at the portrait of the guy who was "too old" in full scale, I have him saved in an album on my Guild profile. I'm pretty sure Yoshitaka Amano couldn't paint an old person even if he wanted to, what with how ethereal his style is, but...fuck logic.

So, uh, yeah. We need the GM to sign off on apps, too, so that when the IC is written we can jump right in.

Now what is the appeal to Rick and Morty, Steven Universe, Adventure Time, and these other cartoons to which full-grown adults have latched themselves? Chick lied to me both about her motivations for joining the RP, and about why she wanted me to change my character. The two are interrelated: she wanted the 1x1 to blossom into her crummy little wish-fulfillment romance RP where the princess gradually falls in love with her loyal, devoted guardian-knight.

My character was too ugly for her, but her way of trying to convey this to me was by claiming he was "too old" instead.

I managed to catch her lie because the alternative portrait she offered to me was of Aragorn, who in the 2001 film was played by a 43-year-old actor, and who in the books is in his eighties due to his Numenorean lineage. Yeah, she, uh, never read the books.

I tried to stick it out but then she stopped posting in the IC. Went totally cold-shoulder on me. Which usually I hate, but honestly I was very grateful for in this case. lol.

Maybe I'll block out her name and post the screenshots. It's pretty funny in retrospect.
