This is the interest check for Munacra: of Sorcery and Science, a game where we play as the nations and factions of the land Munacra, where tensions have sparked between nations as some have undergone an industrial revolution whilst others kling to the magical past. Players will claim land on a map and then design their nations and factions with very little overseeing from the GM. They will also create a set of heroes with which they will explore the world and act out their nations and factions actions. There will be war, diplomacy, trade and adventure.

Nation Name: Sengri Ta’hamurg (trans. Second Land of God), also known as The Remnant

Demonym: Sengrin, Sengri

People/s: 60% of the population see themselves as Sengrin, the direct descendants of the people of the ancient Ta’hamurg empire. The typical adult Sengri is about 160-180cm tall, weighs 50-90kg, has frizzy black or reddish brown hair, blue eyes and brown skin.
20% of the population see themselves as Mhring, a nomad people living in the desert. The typical adult Mhring is about 190-200cm tall, weighs 70-100kg, has straight or wavy black hair, green or brown eyes and brown skin.
The remaining 20% of the population are immigrants, traders or diplomats.

Population Scale/Nation Size: ~300.000

Government: Sengri Ta’hamurg is governed by a god king and queen. The holy royal couple decides on all major matters in the land and is surrounded by a score of councilors and ministers at all times. Local government is left to village elders and city magistrates, with the holy royal law as an ever present framework for reference. The Mhring are commonly opposed to the holy royal couple and their law, preferring to live by their own ancient laws and customs.

People of Importance: God King Nahan and God Queen Henei. Yurgai, the magistrate of Tammarid. The council of eight, consisting of the foremost of the Mhring chieftains.

Capital: Yurtihan, meaning Holy Rock, was the capital of the ancient Ta’hamurg empire and has continued to serve as such for the Second Land of God. It is an enormous city built in levels on the side of the mountain Hanin, from which Murg (God) once descended to save the world (according to Ta’hamurg mythology). 50% of the Sengrin population lives here. The city houses everything from the royal palace to arenas, military barracks and a university.

Settlements: Yurtihan, Sengri Ta’hamurgs capital, is almost exclusively built from stone.
The only other larger settlement is Tammarid (The Serpents Mouth), a trading port in the south. Tammarid consists mainly of wooden buildings and shacks, with a few stone buildings serving as official buildings.
All other Sengrin settlements, such as farms and villages, are made from wood or tents.
The Mhring have very few permanent settlements, mostly living in tents as nomads. The few permanent sites they have are built into sandstone formations in the desert.

Nation Description: Being the remnant of the once great Ta’hamurg empire, the people of Sengri Ta’hamurg have tried to preserve the ancient customs of their predecessors throughout the millennia. They build like them, speak like them, eat like them and worship the same god as they once did. It is widely believed that things were indeed better before, and that people everywhere should strive to revive the greatness of the old empire.

Religion: Murg, meaning God in the language of the Ta’hamurg, is the androgyne deity which according to the old belief descended the holy mountain of Hanin to save the world from evil and darkness. The teachings of Murg are simple: Worship Murg above all other deities, spread the faith, and do no harm to those who would not do harm to you. The holy royal couple acts as the heads of the temple, and priests called murgin relay the word of God to the masses. The great river Tamma (meaning serpent), which runs from the holy mountain to the sea in the south, is of great religious value to those of the faith.

Flora & Fauna: Vegetation in Sengri Ta’hamurg is sparse except for along the river Tamma, where it is rich and diverse. Many exotic fruits and spices can be found in the river delta around Tammarid.
Horses, goats, camels, dogs, lions and other animals accustomed to the desert and prairie can be found in Sengri Ta’hamurg. Crocodiles, large snakes, crabs, turtles and river dolphins are common in the river Tamma.
The griffon, a fantastic creature looking like a crossbreed of lion and eagle, can be found in the mountains around Yurtihan. The creature is known as Murgarakh (Godbird) to the natives. The Sengrin are eager to catch and train these magnificent creatures in the famous griffon roost of Yurtihan.

Magic: No Sengri knows how to do magic, but there are rumors that a Mhring djinnae (the Mhring word for sorceress) is currently walking the sands of the eastern desert. The djinnae are known for their ability to manipulate sand, shaping it and moving it with their will.

Tech: Sengri Ta’hamurgs technology is comparable with that of ancient Egypt. There are however modern weapons such as cannons and muskets present in the capital.

Ambitions: Sengri Ta’hamurgs ultimate ambition is to reunite the world under the protection of God once more. Peacefully if possible, but the nation would use force if necessary. It’s present goal, however, is to simply spread the word of God and trade with its neighbors.

Economy

Imports: Modern weapons, grain, lumber, iron

Exports: Spices, fish, salt, tropical fruits and plants

Army Size: 10% of the Sengrin population (the Mhring have no army)

Regular troops: Spearmen, archers, light cavalry, chariots

Navy: A small fleet of tremeres, but mostly rafts and smaller boats.
