Hi there, I just had a question. I want to make a character whose thesis involves Pokemon Moves. Would it be okay if my character had multiple Pokemon that he could use as assistants and for his sample size?

@PlatinumSkink

"No, no, standing is, un, fine. Maybe it's better like this anyway." Basil nervously scratched his neck with the full realization of what he was doing. He would have liked to have more time to figure out what he was going to say to this woman to lower his chance of being dragon feed if she didn't personally headbutt him to death with her helmet, but that was no longer in the cards. He was standing there with her full attention, and he doubted that he would get that chance again anytime soon.

"I, um, well, er..." He felt like dying. It was hard to tell what was more terrifying, standing before Landorus or standing in front of this armored woman beloved by dragons. What he really wanted to do was apologize for wasting her time and just do crawl to a corner, but then he would be a hypocrite. Amelia was right there. All that talk about being a little bit selfish and saying what you want would have looked like he was just full of it. If he wanted to her to learn then he needed to learn by example. He took a breath, cleared his throat, and said with a bit more assertiveness, "I'm going to ask something, and I understand the weight of it. More than you would think." Of course he knew, everyone knew. Team Amethyst's best clients were nobles, and their most popular 'product' were dragon types and there he was. That guilt, even though it wasn't his fault, was still branded on him.

All he could do was stand there and poke the dragon. "I want to befriend a dragon, but I know they are under your protection, and I understand why. However, I want to prove that I earnestly mean to befriend them. All that I ask is you take a chance on me and let me show my worth as a trainer and a person." Basil looked directly in her eyes, scared out of his mind, but still made eye contact with her. He couldn't back down now. If he did not show some spine then he would be crushed by her.

@PlatinumSkink@Joshua Tamashii

"Well, alright. If it's more convenient for you that way. Do as you will," was Basil's response. Clearly there was no point in pushing the issue when she was dead set on just being his sidekick for the time being. It was not exactly what he was hoping for though. Frankly, it felt weird to have anyone be a sidekick let alone someone who looked like they just barely turned eleven.

He turned his attention towards Lesley who thankfully just stood there waiting on him and probably listened in on their conversation. Well, hopefully they would have been able speak to one another without any interruption. "I'm sorry for the wait even though I was the one who asked for your time. Amelia and I just needed to have a talk, but you have my undivided attention now."

The forest deity looked at Jason with not distrust, but apprehension. Knowledge was a funny thing. At times, it may be considered more of a curse than a blessing. Once its heard, it could never be truly forgotten. That was what it was thinking as it painfully mulled it over, not like Jason would have been able to know that. Well, except that it was deep in thought because it made a face as it agonized over it. However, it looked to have come to a decision though not with great confidence.

"I travel through the ages. The concepts of past, present, and future are meaningless to me. I am untethered to the shackles of time and space like you are, or so I thought," explained Celebi. It had a grim look upon its face though in its eyes was an anxiety. This being, a creature that skipped through time, had no idea what was going on. It was scared. "I can no longer travel through Evig at any point of time. The only reason I can appear in front of you is because these shrines are my domain. The moment I try to leave I am thrusted to another point in time outside of the region," admitted Celebi.

Now time was a wibbly wobbly subject though we could only hope that Jason understood the concept of time. It was understood that time travel was essentially impossible. Time only moved forward, but one could not just jump forward through time either. Lame, yes, but the exception to the rule floated right in front of him. This thing had the power to defy the laws of nature and yet, Celebi was not allowed to exist in Evig's past, future, or present.

Helga scowled as she began to put the pieces together. "I know where this is going, and I am against it," said Helga. The Amazonian crossed her arms in disapproval. "It was already a mistake on my behalf to bring him here but involving him even further is unfair to him. Let him be on his journey. He's not ready."

"And yet he has the potential. You cannot leave the forest without protection, and I cannot travel Evig. If he is here, then it is because he was meant to be here."

Helga clicked her tongue and stared angrily at Celebi.

What does Jason do?

So, Stella received the Miracle Seed from that Oddish as a thank you gift and made her way to the Mellow Grove. It was actually quite close by; all she needed to do was take right turn not far from the entrance of the route and walked up a hill overtaken by wildflowers. Eventually she would approach a wrought iron gate with a sign that said 'Mellow Grove Graveyards.' That was the destination.

@samreaper

The two men stood there and listened to what Tristan had to say sans panic attack. Well, Louis interjected while Tristan spoke. "Louis, my name is Louis," he corrected Tristan followed by a click of his tongue. Sometimes it paid to check spelling. Anyway, both men were aware of the Elusive Woods and the strange connection that Aria Eberg had with it. They were also aware that people who went in typically were never seen again, and this kid strolled in with the wild claim that he could solve that mystery all for the reward of a flower.

Ramos rubbed his chin and had a glint of recognition in his very much closed eyes. "Oho, Glory huh? And a rookie trainer? Well, that clarifies some things. A pleasure to meet you Tristan, Princess." The elderly man knelt down and patted the Riolu gently on the head with a gloved hand.

"I see you're someone of some importance," said an arm crossed Louise. He stared Tristan down trying to figure out what the kid's angle was because frankly speaking he did not buy a word the boy said. It all sounded like some charade for some bigger aim though he would never say it aloud. "Well, you're not wrong about the VIP. The mystery of that forest is eerie, but frankly, as long as no one enters that forest then I don't see why we should accept your offer. If we make an exception for you then we-"

"We'll do it," interjected Ramos.

"Wait, what?" He looked down towards the old man as if his head was one a swivel. "You can't make that decision on your own you know! We can't give them away to anyone that just asks!" Shouted the estate manager with indignance.

Ramos chuckled at the man's little temper tantrum. One could almost imagine that behind his close lids he rolled his eyes. "Oh, come on Louis. It's not like we don't have a reason not to help him. Besides, I think we could find a solution that will satisfy both sides." He turned his attention back to the rookie trainer. "Tristan, let's have a battle. I have something to ask, but I need to see if you are wheat or chaff."

What does Tristan do?

@Joshua Tamashii@Lunarlord34

"I think you can tell her. Out of all the things to worry about with her, being creeped isn't one." Freya said with an amused smile. This was the same girl that chased after a thief that attacked her and threw hands. Hell, Steph went to explore in a sewer. She glanced over to the Bogan whose eyes lit up like Wyndon when it was not covered in classic Galarian fog. "I fear the thing we have to worry about is her shortening her lifespan." Something told her she that if she took her eye off Steph then she would be even more unhinged.

Meanwhile, that unhinged girl just asked question after question and each one was less unintelligible than the last. He started to step away from her, his one good eye on the door as he looked for a chance to escape from this strange creature. Steph would feel a hand cover her mouth and of course it was Freya who had to stop her from the unrelenting bombardment of questions. "How about we let him answer your questions?"

She then turned her gaze to the old man "Can you answer?"

The old man's posture relaxed as his fight or flight instincts died. He said, "Uh, I'll do my best" and cleared his throat. "Ya see, I was up before the sun to do some early mornin' fishin' at Lake Charity. I was mindin' my business when I heard a 'BOOM,' He motioned his hands wide to mimic the sound of an explosion, "Crack in the sky high above. I saw the damn sky crack open! There was a hole of white light! I could not believe my eyes, but I saw someone fall out of it!"

It was in fact incredibly unbelievable. Freya stood there listening with an understandably skeptical look and Bo had looked like he heard the story one too many times already.

"I thought the kid died from that height, but he managed to swim to shore. From where I was, I could at least see that he was your age, sandy blonde hair. He just paced along the shore for a solid twenty, no, twenty-five minutes before anything happened. The portal had closed as soon as he fell out, so he was probably in a pickle." He rubbed his chin in thought as he did his best to recall the details. "My memory is a bit shaky, but Adrianne didn't arrive immediately. When she did she flew over with her Volcarona. I was too far to hear their conversation, but I saw her whisk him away towards Grand Glory City."

Bo said as if imploring the man to see reason, "Bary, if what you said was real then there would've been others that had seen it. Heck, it would've made the news."

"I'm tellin' you I saw what I saw! They're coverin' it up! Something blew a damn hole in the sky and that kid fell out!" He slammed his hands against the counter with a loud and very angry bang.

@PlatinumSkink@Joshua Tamashii

That warm smile unfurled as he listened to this little girl speak. He heaved a sigh and looked at her with narrowed eyes before shaking his head. His words went in one ear and out the other. Weren't kids her age meant to be a bit more selfish instead of self-sacrificing or was he just used to the spoiled noble brats he was surrounded by? Amelia certainly wasn't like them; she tried so hard to be a good girl, someone that made absolutely no trouble, that she was her own worst enemy.

"Why do you insist on playing second fiddle? You can't put your journey on the backburner like that. If you want to do something, then say it." Basil unbent his knees and stood straight again. He absolutely refused to let this kid sideline herself out of some morbid sense of guilt though he also needed to follow his own advice. For all of his good intentions, his own adventure was something that he could not push to the side either. After all, it would have been in bad form to cancel his own prior commitments.

"That being said, we'll head to Stillwood Village when we conclude our own business here. That's where I am supposed to meet my companion, Anise, to follow a lead that the gym leader of Highhill gave us though we should have a bit of time before she arrives. She went home to Redcoast to prepare for her journey. We probably shouldn't get there late though. I'll explain on the way over." Basil glanced over to Lesley who was thankfully waiting ever so patiently for him to have the conversation that he insisted on having with her before it returned to Amelia. "However, I have my own business before we set off. Are you going to be okay waiting for me?"

@Joshua Tamashii@PlatinumSkink

Basil stood there and let Amelia say her piece. It was not like he did not expect some rebuttal about having him tag along on her journey, but what he had not expected was the self-degradation. He saw a lot of himself in this little girl; someone afraid to want and afraid to be trouble for others. She solved her problems by herself and lived only to be useful to others, but if someone offered their hand she would look away. To live isolated like this was not to live at all.

"You know, it's okay to be a little selfish." He knelt down to Amelia to be around her eye level. "It doesn't make you a bad person and it certainly doesn't make you a burden. It's easy for me to say, but even I have to remind myself of the same thing. Sure, my plans have now altered slightly, but again that is also okay because I want to help. That's more than reason enough." said the older trainer with a gentle smile.

"Besides, I don't want to leave you alone with David Strickland. It's not like he's a bad person, but he's a bit... much." He could only remember the rare times when he met the man himself during the rare times when David was away from work, or in actuality they were still work, for charity events, galas, and the like that he was dragged to and found him to be a lot. Actually, his son was also a lot too. Maybe it ran in the family.
@Zarkun

Celebi looked at Jason, past his shoulder to look at Helga, and then back to Jason. It tilted its head and arched a puzzle brow at his question. "What do I mean? Those who pass my trials are able to become my champion. Surely my acolyte explained it to you. Her ancestors have guarded this shrine for centuries and would only bring someone if they thought they were truly worthy."

Helga stood there, arms crossed with her eyes averting Jason's and Celebi's like a child that was caught with their hand in a cookie jar. It was very plain the see that she had not actually thought he was worthy and certainly had not expected this to be the outcome of helping him. "Look, I expected you to lose. If you did, I was going to knock you out and tell you that it was all just a dream. Who the heck would've thought that you would actually beat that thing?" said Helga as if that was a valid explanation to a kid that she potentially could've killed and the literal time traveling forest deity that floated there.

"I see... If you do not mind, I am going to take a peek into you." Celebi floated towards Jason and touched his head gently with its hand. All at once, Jason's entire life flashed before his eyes. The first time he ever opened his eyes, his first words, his first steps, and more and more memories until they all led up to his current situation. All of this happened in less than a split second and all of it was seen by this being.

The deity removed its hands from Jason and floated back to where it was before. "Ah, your name is Jason. A Seeker of Strength, yet a noble soul. You hale from Hoenn and yet you stand here before me on Evig soil. And there are more chosen children like you. How interesting," it said, pondering on what it had seen. Jason though needed a moment to recover from having his own brain flooded by memories long ago forgotten or repressed. The normal human typically would need it after experiencing their brain being ddossed.

"My apologies, I needed to assess if you are to be trusted. Something is very wrong, very, very wrong." It explained apologetically.

@Sanguine Rose

With many questions for later, Faye finally had her head in the fight. Luckily, Sage was a speedy little genetically unstable pup, cat thing and leapt out of the way of a gust of sparkly, pink wind. With its hind legs, Sage kicked up a mound of dirt that hit the metal fairy square in the face. However, Sand Attack was a move that when used in a double battle it could hit two targets at once. The Tinkatink that charged towards Tilia with its mouth wide open literally ate clump of dirt. It understandably gagged, which gave the Rowlet to fly up in the air and dive bomb in retaliation.

The Tinkatink that had charged Tilia was smacked by though the damage it looked like it was barely scuffed from the blow. It glared at its annoying feathery opponent that kept to the air. A pink wind gathered around its club and the Tinkatink swung it, sending a gust of Fairy Wind up towards the Rowlet.

Meanwhile, the other Tinkatink leapt forward and swung its club down at Sage, except it missed. And it missed again, and again. This typically would've been ideal, but in reality, it wasn't. The fairy-type was attacking wildly with complete disregard for its surroundings. If not stopped, it may accidentally smash up the engine.

What does Faye do?

"Stillwood huh?" Basil mused to himself. All roads led to that village apparently, but it was good to know that there was a Minor League Gym that he could challenge to get gym badge number two while investigating the fruit that Landorus gave him. Heck, if things went to plan maybe badge number three in Raremine Town if he were to be so lucky. Maybe he should have followed Anise to Redcoast, but in a way it was fortuitous that he was in the same location as Amelia since Kalmia asked for his assistance.

Still, he had no idea how he was going to actually convince that man to help her. He had no doubt that David would have been able to make something happen, but it was a matter of incentive. What would a noble that already had everything he would ever want in return? Well, it was a problem for future Basil to deal with.

Present Basil looked at Lesley and nodded understandingly. She was a busy woman with plenty of responsibilities after all with being a gym leader of the town and the leader of a guard that protected dragons while also giving tours, so it was not like he could hold it against her. Surely, he had no need for anything else from her. "Oh, um, okay. Thanks for reffing the match." Basil said with a smile followed by a few moments of silence before his eyes widened when he remembered why he was even in Lakewatch to begin with.

"Sorry, I actually still do need to talk to you. For the sake of convenience can we walk and talk?" The young noble said hopefully before she left, otherwise he would have had to run after her. If Amelia was still there, Basil would ask, "Uh, do you want to tag along since I'm helping you out or do you have anything you want to do?"
Basil VS Eryn

@PlatinumSkink

Basil accepted the challenge, which was rather unsurprising considering they were more evenly matched than he was with Lesley. Though, it would’ve been interesting to see who was the better arm wrestler between Lesley and a Hawlucha.

Basil’s Pokedex rang then, and he picked up a call from none other than Professor Kalmia.

“Hi Professor!” Eryn called from the background when he mentioned her being there over the phone.

Eryn looked between Basil and Amelia when Basil mentioned wanting to talk after the battle, and between Basil and Lesley when he mentioned coming to speak with her. Lots of secrets today, it seemed. But, Eryn didn’t exactly want to pry. She had a whole new Pokemon to get to know now, after all, so she could worry about other things later.

At Lesley’s comment about Pokemon Centers having battle arenas out back, Eryn blinked. “Oh huh, convenient,” she said, heading to the back with the others.

In the back of the Pokemon Center was indeed a battle arena, modestly sized with a large screen overhead too.

“Alright, Atha.” Eryn got into position on one side of the arena, waving the Bagon over as she pulled a Pokeball from her belt. “You remember Dei right?” she asked, calling out said Charmander.

Dei looked around, noting Basil and his Hawlucha as well as Lesley.

“Dei, you up for a double battle with Atha here? Against Basil and his Hawlucha,” Eryn said. “I’m going to need you to show Atha the ropes here.”

Dei eyed Atha, then snorted. Atha huffed back, but with a grin Dei didn’t mirror.

“Alright, well,” Eryn said, looking to Basil across the field, “ready when you are.”

"Then I better not keep you waiting," said Basil. He tossed a Pokeball from his belt and a Darumaka appeared from a flash of white light.

The little round gal looked up at Basil and then towards Eryn and her two lizards. A grin formed as she started to get a better idea of what was going on.

"Alright Cecil, Glory. Ready to show your stuff?"

He did not need an answer. Their battle-ready stances were all the answers that he needed.

Eryn nodded, glancing at Dei and Atha and noting the glints in their eyes. “Okay. Dei, let’s start with a Growl! Atha, Ember!”

The Charmander's growls caused the duo to tense up, which lowered their physical attacking power. Basil, undeterred by this, quickly retaliated. "Cecil use Rollout to punch through the Embers and hit that Bagon! Glory, into the air and use Karate Chop on the Charmander."

The Darumaka's armed popped into its body and rolled at high speeds towards the Embers with the intention of just smashing through it. Meanwhile. the Hawlucha leapt into the air and maneuvered gracefully before diving down to bring its hand down to chop Dei's head.

The Darumaka’s Rollout shredded through the Ember fairly easily, leaving Atha’s eyes wide. Eryn, though, had expected something similar given the Bagon’s inexperience.

“Atha, Rage!”

Her voice prompted the Bagon into action. Atha’s eyes glazed over, and she let out a roar, charging headfirst at the rolling Darumaka in an imitation of a headbutt. A lifetime of ramming into opponents, driven by instinct, showed its head.

Basil’s Hawlucha, on the other hand, seemed to have the speed advantage, closing the distance despite some additional aerial acrobatics.

“Dei, tank the hit and retaliate with a Smokescreen!” Eryn called, clenching her fist as she watched the Hawlucha dive.

The Hawlucha’s Karate Chop made impact, knocking Dei’s head to the floor briefly, but Dei’s eyes were open quickly, smoke in his jaws.

A belch of dark smog was spat at the Hawlucha’s face as Dei sprang out of the bird’s immediate range, giving his head a shake.

The Darumaka’s Rollout did not slow down after smashing through the sparks of flame. She just barreled down towards the Bagon that charged towards her.

Meanwhile, the Hawlucha smirked at the Charmander that briefly ate floor though it did not last for long. Its vision was soon obscured by smoke and coughed a lung out.

“Back into the air again and then use Detect!” ordered Basil. The Hawlucha jumped back up and moved nimbly in the air. That bird looked like it was about to give Dei the bird for that little trick. Its eyes glowed a gentle blue.

Atha and the Darumaka made impact. The Darumaka barely moved, but Atha was sent reeling back. The wince on her face, however, didnt stop Eryn making out the grin across her features. Her eyes, in particular, were alight with excitement, and seeing that made Eryn grin as well.

“Keep it up, Atha!” Eryn called. “And Dei, let’s switch targets. Smokescreen!”

Dei complied, spewing smoke at the Darumaka as Atha charged the balled-up fire-type again.

The Darumaka won that collision and made a sharp turn to come around towards the Bagon again though there was now a plump of smoke that made its way towards the red wrecking ball.

"Cecil, don't stop! Glory, use Aerial Ace on the the Charmander!" called out Basil.

The Hawlucha dived down towards the fire lizard again with white streaks of air coursing around it before it vanished from sight and then reappeared to dive kick Dei's head.

“Use the smoke to dodge, Atha!” Eryn called to the charging Bagon who, mid-charge, slowed for a second, then veered to the left before charging at where the Darumaka was rolling.

Dei, on the other hand, took another hit, skidding to the side. He rose with heavy breaths, scratched up but still determined to finish the fight.

Atha made impact again. Unfortunately, the nature of Rollout meant that there was no way to attack without taking damage, and Atha was left heavily damaged as well, panting where she fell.

“Alright,” Eryn said, looking between her Pokemon. “Good job you two. Let’s finish off strong. Dei, Ember! Atha, Rage!”

Dei rose first, planting himself and swelling with air before he spewed forth a stream of flame. Atha, not to be outdone, rose quickly afterwards, pawing at the ground once with each foot before running at the Darumaka anew.

“Let’s return their efforts in kind,” said Basil with a smile. “Glory, use Detect followed by Aerial Ace! Cecil keep on rolling!”

The Hawlucha’s eyes glowed blue once again and dashed towards Dei. It maneuvered around each spark of flame that came his way before he vanished in front of the charmander’s eyes and then reappeared to drop kick it. Meanwhile, the Darumaka continued to play chicken with the Bagon, but her attack only increased in power as time went on.

This clash was the last. Hawlucha’s build seemed innately stronger by a good margin than the unevolved Charmander’s, and where Dei’s injuries seemed substantial, the Hawlucha’s seemed almost manageable. Evolution, Eryn noted, would probably be a good thing to work towards, and soon.

Similarly, Atha’s injuries seemed quite substantial as well, but given her inexperience, that much was guaranteed. Eryn’s Pokedex told her that Rollout was a move that increased in damage with successive hits, much like Rage. On a stronger Pokemon, the move was rather like a countdown.

Still, her Pokemon had held out well despite the odds, and she recalled them from where they fell with a small smile. “Good job, you two,” she whispered, then looked to Basil and his Pokemon. “Good job to you all too! We’ll have to do this again sometime.”

Basil smiled and returned both of his Pokémon to their respective Pokeballs. “Well done. Rest well you two.”

He looked up at Eryn and nodded. “I look forward to it.”

Fatali-!

Wait, wrong series.

Jason's hand delved into the chest of the flaming construct, and he could feel the fire singe his flesh, but he quickly ripped the flute piece out before the lunatic could do any serious damage to himself. The Echo dispersed into loose sparks that scattered around the ground unceremoniously. The only thing left was the smell of his burned flesh and the seared marks of dead skin that travelled from his hand up to his forearm like tendrils. One did not need to imagine how much it hurt because Jason could feel it. The burning, stinging sensation was nauseatingly painful to the point that he would feel lightheaded, but it just wasn't that. It was a throbbing pain, aching pain that crawled all the way up his arm.

However, he was still the victor and despite the fact that he landed the finishing blow his team still earned experience.

Murus is now level 17! Murus is trying to learn Curse! Do you wish to forget a move?
Lucha is now level 16! Lucha is trying to learn Encore! Do you wish to forget a move?
Sable is now level 17!

With no warning, a voice rung out. It light and sounded youthful like a young child. Jason heard it, but he did not hear it from within the shrine itself; he heard it in his head.

"A new champion?"

The space in front of him began to twist and not just air, but the light and even the room itself was almost being ripped from its seams. A green beam of light burst through followed by another and then another until light just gushed through the center of the distortion like a dam about ready to give way. It was blinding as if the sun descended upon him and blasted him with absolute radiance. All that anyone could do is cover their eyes.

He heard heavy, very recognizable footfall rush towards his location and the Amazonian ran in with a complete panic. "Kid what is going on in here?!"

The distortion grew brighter and brighter... and them it stopped. All that was left was a sphere of light. It dissipated into beads to reveal something else entirely.

Green.

A green, fairy-like creature hovered in place in front of them. It has round toeless feet, three-fingered hands, and clear wings on its back. It has a round head that comes to a curved point. It has large baby-blue eyes with thick black rings around them, and a pair of green antennae with blue tips. The creature was small, no taller than 2 feet (0.6 meters for the metrically inclined) and yet its presence had strength. The hairs on the back of Jason's neck stood up.

It had not escaped Freya that Amelia was more diminutive after what she said. The anxious bean of a girl did not exactly have the best poker face in the world. Mentally Freya kicked herself as she watched the little girl enter this downward spiral of insecurity.

"Come with me for a sec." She knelt down and grabbed the girl's arm as gently as she could before pulling her off a bit to the side while Steph pondered on the trainer that Bo mentioned. The tall girl once again kneeled down to her eye level though she had a very serious expression instead of that warm smile like she did before.

"I reacted poorly, I'm sorry Amelia. It's just if you are telling the truth then it's a bit shocking, but it's not something to be ashamed of. It's a gift. Sure, it's surprising, but it's not something that reflects poorly on you. You're a smart and kind little girl who was selected by one of the strongest trainers in the region to have a Pokedex. They see potential in you, so hold your head and be proud."

Her expression then softened back into a smile, and she patted the spooky girl's shoulder. "You do need to be careful where you say it though. There are very bad people who would take advantage of you for your abilities. Okay?"

As if to ruin the moment, Steph excitedly listed off her questions in her thick as hell accent, but there was one question that she should not have asked.

"Wait don't-" Bo tried to stop her, but it was too late.

Like some sort of cosmic entity with a comedic sense of timing, the door swung open and who came limping in was this bone thin, hunched over man with one normal sized eye and then one bulging eye. He only had small tuffs of hair on the sides of his head and a long, mangey grey beard that curled upwards. He was dressed in oversized blue overalls with a stained white-T underneath and black boots. This man was balancing himself with a cane. To the others, he was just a deranged old man. To Amelia, this man reeked of death.

"Did someone ask about me?!" He shouted with his high-pitched creaky floorboard of a voice.

Bo face palmed and groaned loudly. "Not again... Bary stop freaking out the customers!" Clearly this was a common occurrence.

The shopkeeper turned back to Steph with a less than joyful expression though he thankfully he was still amicable. He held his hand up and began to list out what he told Jason yesterday, lifting up a finger for each one he mentioned. "Let's see... Well, he was asking about some rumors and myths. I told him there were a bunch of slash marks on the trees in the forest and that drew out all the bug catchers for some reason. Bugs ain't my thing so you'd need to ask 'em. Then there is the unusual levels of agitation and violence from the Pokemon inhabiting the Corrupted Marsh, but that shithole is dangerous. Not a chance in hell I'm going to go in there."

He shuddered at the thought, his loose jowls and body fat wiggled like fearful jelly.

"I told him about the myth surrounding the forest and the 'Forest Deity'. How a great fire destroyed the forest and razed the villages to ash, but after praying for a miracle, the Forest Deity raised the forest that we know today from the earth and taught them how to live alongside nature. Apparently, there's a shrine, but no one has been able to find it." Bo shrugged with indifference towards the subject. Clearly, he did not believe that it existed, but if a shrine had not been seen since ancient times, then perhaps there was reason for his disbelief.

However, like fingernails scraped against a chalkboard, the crazed looking beanpole interrupted the conversation. "Why aren't ya telling them about the sky?! The sky cracked open, and a person fell out of it! That Adrianne girl was there! I saw it! A blonde boy fell out of the sky!" It sounded like the crazed ramblings of a madman. Bo tiredly looked at him and shook his head.

"Don't listen to him. The poor bastard's been Night Touched. Some say it's an omen, some same it's a curse. It happens when people are asleep. They see visions of something in their sleep, but the one constant is that they all see the moon in their dream. The effects actually vary; some people don't experience anything afterwards, but then there are people who see strange things after their dreams and then there are those like Bary. Whatever Bary saw in that dream of his shattered his psyche." He quickly explained because frankly speaking he could already guess that Steph was a foreigner was not familiar with the strange happenings of the region. Actually, even Amelia and Freya would have never heard of this strange affliction. It was not common knowledge, like someone could just look it up in this world's equivalent of WebMD and look up the symptoms.

Bo glanced over to the essentially cursed man and said, "Hey Bary, lift up your right hand."

The crazed old man lifted up his wrinkled right hand. It was skinny and veins were pushing against the skin as if they were trying to break free. On it was a black crescent moon and for Amelia, she would have sensed that it was the source of that undead energy. Amelia could get a sense that whatever it was, it was powerful. It wasn't malevolent and violent as what she had encountered in the ruins though it wasn't good and pure like whatever the source of the light in the ruins was either. It just existed like a force of nature. It was purely neutral.

"That's the sign of the Night Touched. Everyone that wakes up from those dreams all have that mark. Frankly speaking, I didn't think it was real until it happened to him."

What do Amelia and Steph do?

@CitrusArms

While this was meant to be a wild encounter, a non-violent solution was always appreciated as well.

"Odd? Odd." The Oddish nodded, however a circle with legs nods, and accepted Stella's treatment. For the sake of fairness and because it was not a severe wound, the potion was not consumed from Stella's inventory. After receiving the treatment Oddish thanked her and went on its way. However, before it did it gave her something as payment or as a thank you gift. It was a little yellowish green seed with a darker leafy ripple pattern.

Stella received a Miracle Seed!
