"The assault is AI guided," he communicated to the others. "Stick to your instincts, eye the shots' trajectory and keep moving." He pushed the Baelstrom even faster, its Flight-Mode surging him ahead of his squad. He could visualize which missiles were on target to hit either himself or the others, with a skillful arc of the controls he spiraled the Baelstrom while using his vulcans in short bursts to shoot down wayward missiles. Looser ones zoomed by and energy beams lanced pass just off.
His fingers flickered across the controls, equipping his Beam Handgun from the Trikeros Kai. Not a moment later, the shield expanded to block the majority of his suit.
"Listen up, here's the plan! Kobayashi, I want you providing support. Keep your eyes on your sensors, direct Haro, and keep us alive." For a moment he quieted, taking in his overlays. "Tanaka, you're with me. Your target is the Flagship, got it. If what our sensors are telling us is correct, then we're missing folks. Quite a few actually so we hit what's in front of us. Komi..."
Ryoichi eased up on his thrusters ever so slightly, feeling out the space needed to both abandoned and save if necessary. The silence that sat between the callout became tense, so he exhaled his growing concern. The idea that this make-shift squad would have issue with his orders or suggestions. But his instincts were guiding him onward and this felt right to say and do. "I want you to do a quick check of the other Zones and retreat if needed. I leave any decisions you have to make up to you. If nothing's wrong, come back and help where you can."
As they neared the flagship, the smaller blip on the screen came into view. One of those Wing Gundams, an all white one at that. Ryoichi chuckled, remembering the Red Virgo, remembering the countless solid-colored Gunplas he'd defeated. The Wing Gundam's many white fangs rushed off towards him. They all think they're special. I wonder if he's the Imagine Victory's 'ass' pilot. A beam shot threatened to destroy his Gunpla. He pushed his thrusters hard, becoming a bolt of blue zipping left and backwards before raising out of range of the ship's artillery.
The tarnished frame of the Baelstrom hid behind the shield as he loosed beam shots off at the chasing Fangs. They were calculated, his first shot aiming to destroy two Fangs close together, while his other shots were grazing blows capable of shooting down Fangs but really meant to hit the white Wing Gundam's head or cockpit. Through the coms, Ryoichi spoke to Komi, "Take the flagship! leave 'em to me!"
When his sensors signaled a spike in plavsky particles nearby, Ryoichi reacted before finishing his thought, A sniper?! Two enemies then. A gunner and a guardian, are they shooting for me? The Baelstrom's upward momentum slowed slightly before jolting back to its peak. Alerts appeared, his left foot had been shot off. If this wasn't a space field I'd be in some trouble, he admitted. The fractured face of the suit and its flickering optics, accented by the sharpened bronze antennas on either sides of its head, gave the Baelstrom a mad expression. The Baelstrom came to a halt at a lone place in space overhead the enemies' flagship, looking down at a golden glint some odd-distance away. Then the Baelstrom's attention returned to his sensors. From on high, he could see the bottomless battlefield and knew that his presence was magnetic.
On open coms, Ryoichi spoke aloud. "What fun," he started, in that insufferably cool tone. "I can tell you're after me. Come, let's play together you two." Baiting them forward, where hopefully Kobayashi would eliminate one of them.
