Current TBH, I'm not surprised an Int Check got taken down. Some of the 1x1 checks I've seen are basically straight-up looking for ERP and Typef*cking almost shamelessly

Ah, I see the bots are back again with their nonsense posting.

Got my new sci-fi mecha RP up. Put a lot of work into the background of this one, and wrote out a whole setting

Cambozola is definitely A-Tier. It combines all the best parts of Brie with Blue Cheese, what's not to like.

Guess the mecha RP idea wasn't as popular or as interesting as I hoped it might be. Not much in the way of bites on that one so far, sadly

Bio

I've been roleplaying in one form or another since the late '90's. I've played as many tabletop games as I have online ones, and the quality of both has varied wildly.
I have an active imagination, and I love immersive, descriptive roleplaying. My genres of choice are sci-fi, and modern-day (with a sci-fi twist). I like RP's that mix reality with fiction, and throw an unusual and exciting twist into an otherwise normal setting - something like Stargate SG-1 would be an example, or Battle: Los Angeles. An almost recognizable world, but with some sci-fi twists.
I'm a fan of military and action-based RP's that do this especially, and they are easily my favourite - though I rarely see any that appeal to me enough - all the military RP's are too 'plain', and anything else modern day is usually fantasy or fandom.
I have a lot of fandoms, but I don't really like fandom RP's - or at least, the ones that come up. I often find them a bit lacking in ideas, or too far away from what actually makes the thing I'm a fan of enjoyable.

I don't play in free, as I find the short posts and bad spelling and grammar infuriating.

I'm 43 years old, and live in the UK, so I may not be on all the time.
I also like playing non-human characters, especially anthro ones. I dig giant robots, and I love military aircraft. I'm also a very dedicated and proud Brony and furry.

@Silverwind Blade They still fly here in the States sometimes during airshows, specially in the South. They are beautiful, I wish I could have seen them in action. But, I guess airshows are a lot more prevalent here in the states than in the Old World.

I'm surprised to hear that; everything I've read has said that all the F-111's had been retired a long time ago. I've been lucky to see B-1's at airshows which are the next nearest thing, and one of my other favourite aircraft. A bit out of scope for this RP though xD

And yeah, not surprising really. The USA is much, much bigger geographically than the UK, and with a much better year-round climate that allows for more airshows year round. Not to mention a much higher budget for putting on airshows, with or without military participation. There's a good amount here in the UK, especially from the spring to the summer, but a lot of them are small 'air festivals' locally. Still, I usually go to the biggest one in the country every year.

<snip>

This is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind and was imagining with the mention of prototype and 'never flew' aircraft, so I'd be absolutely thrilled to see a Yak-141 in the game.

F16XL
Super Viper

Would likely be a better fit with the other plane types

The F-16XL was one of the other aircraft I was considering myself, actually! It's a good choice, and a personal favourite plane, too. I know that Slypheed was originally considering it too, so it's a good choice. And I'd love to have you onboard too, you're certainly more than welcome to join us.
@Silverwind Blade I suggest trying to find one in an airshow, that and the A-4, beautiful planes and majestic in all accounts. I saw a few when an Aussie group and some diggers came here to the states for training when I was doing a FoI on a local base, and she sounded beautiful.

Unfortunately, there aren't any flying anymore since the Australians retired theirs, so I'll never get to see one flying now. But I've seen a couple of them in museums over here in the UK, and admired them since.
Snow

Garrett swung into action not far behind his comrades-in-arms. The targets were clear and obvious - just the way he liked it; a simple mission with a simple objectives, and simple targets. With a howl of engines, the Sentinel sped forward, thrusters giving enough power to move in ground-effect; faster than a run and not quite flying. As Valika and R-18 went after the enemy MA's, Garrett followed in Sara's wake, engaging the heavy gun batteries.
"Good hits, Rabbit! Following your lead. Solid locks confirmed-"
Another of the heavy gun emplacements slid into view as Garrett skidded the Sentinel like a power-skater on its' cloud of flaring blue thrust. Crosshairs projected into his vision turned green as multiple missiles locked on.
"Snow, targets locked. Missiles away!"
Shoulder covers popped open and winding smoke trails blasted away from both bulky shoulder pads as armour-piercing plasma-warhead missiles screamed and corkscrewed through the air and blasted into globular, eye-searing, explosions against one of the heavy turrets, blasting it to pieces as it turned to bear.
Still skidding at high-speed, crosshairs projected into Garrett's single-eyed vision locked over targets. The lighter armoured vehicles might not have been much threat, but they were still a threat; his head-mounted vulcan cannon burst into a burbling roar, shells streaming into the vehicles hulls in clouds of dirty smoke and flame as the twin-linked guns opened fire, empty casings streaming out along with clouds of gunsmoke.
"Enemy vehicles neutralised; shifting to next targets!"
<snip>

Approved! I really like him, and look forward to having him in the game :)
I'm a big fan of the F-111 too. I always regret I never got to see one flying, especially with its 'dump-and-burn' show-stopping maneuvre at airshows.

Ah it has been a long time since I have been involved in one of your fun Ace combat inspired RP's. Count me interested in this!

Would love to have you! Make your way over to the OOC and see what it's all about <3
Hmmm...@Silverwind Blade Light combat aircraft allowed? Jet powered of course.

You mean something like a Hawk (as an example); light fighters or combat-capable trainers? By all means, yes.

Sorry I've been sitting on the fence about this rp, and then came down really ill the last couple of days.

I think I've intimidated myself put of this one a bit. The mecha one I'd feel more comfortable panting my way through, hut I just don't have the knowledge of real world military stuff, and feel like I'd hold everyone back. I'd be more comfortable doing so in a Sci-fi mecha setting...

Honest word, if I'm the player that decides if this gets off the ground then I'll do my best, but otherwise I think I might bow out and focus on other projects.

That's fair enough; we should still have enough people to keep it going, and if you'd like to join in, you would still of course be welcome.
I am still planning on going ahead with the mecha-based game, but it's just taking a bit longer to hammer out the setting and make it work than I'd like, plus I've also been busy.
Yep, trying to get stuff sorted since I just got a new project settled, also something like the F-111 Aardvark allowed? I know that is more of a multirole/strat.

The F-111 is absolutely allowed; multirole aircraft are perfectly fine. Won't all be air-to-air combat in the slightest.
The F-111 almost straddles the line between Strategic Bomber and tactical aircraft, but it's been used as both, so I don't have a problem with it. I debated choosing one myself, actually.

@Silverwind Blade Yeah sorry this weekend was crazy with a wedding and now I've gotten sick but ill look over some stuff and hopefully get somthing together or pull my interest. Again very sorry for being MIA for a bit

No problems, was just getting a bit antsy since I had a good few people on the Int Check, and then nobody seemed to follow across to the OOC. Good to see you're here now, though.
Not only did I finally get that update out, but the long overdue discord server is up!

I tried to click on the link, but it told me the invite is invalid D:
Okay I just really, really, really want to apologize for the delay. I'm actually having a bit of a hard time setting up this next bit, I'm not suuuuper familiar with GMing in sci-fi/militaristic settings and that's starting to hit me now.

I'm not trying to make excuses, this delay is pretty shameful on my part as GM, but I just want to let everyone know what's going on and that one way or another I am going to try and push something out to try and get this going and get over my personal failings here today.

Hey, don't sweat it - no one has said anything negative so far, and everyone is having fun. Don't put too much pressure on yourself, and remember to let yourself enjoy the game too.
For me personally, the relaxed pace is good, it fits in with my responsibilities and lifestyle well, and I'm patient enough to wait and glad to not be missing out on things because it's moving too quickly.
I'm dithering on this a little.
My other RP Interest Check; the fighter pilots one, got a good amount of interest to the point of getting to an OOC... aaaand now all the people bar one who were interested have disappeared.
So, that brings me back to this RP, which I was less invested/interested in, but seems to have more interest from players... IDK.
I will try and get something written up for an OOC with it, and we'll see what happens?
Really, I'd just like one of the two things I suggested to actually get somewhere...
