It wasn't the imminent procedure that bothered him..no it was the waiting which seemed to go on forever. The stress caused by it was making his legs fidget; bounce against the floor nonstop that he had to put his hand on his knee to stop the fidgeting somewhat. Hearing the beep of the intercom helped pop the bubble of pressure threatening to strangle him; listening to the voice explained how the procedure would be taking place.
Terrence looked to the door, where the assistant entered while holding what looked to be a brace of some sort. When asked to offer an arm, he hesitated at first as he stared at the device, unsure of what to think. Yet, knowing that since he stayed went the last chance to back out and thought it best to take his glasses off to avoid having them break and placed it on the bed.
Steeling himself with one last slow exhale before standing up and held up his left arm to have the brace set against his arm and once done, the assistant had left the room.'Alright...whatever's coming....bring it.'Nodding his head; resolved to do this to the end and even if he didn't make it, then at least he would die knowing his grandfather would be well taken care of.
The silence broken once again by the beeping of the intercom as the voice spoke one last time to let them know the procedure was about to begin.
Soon the prick of a needle made him flinch, but what came next was by far the worst pain imaginable. Within seconds he was on his knees; arms holding him up from the floor as every fiber of his being convulsed from waves of pain. Each inhale only made the air burn in his throat and lungs feeling like being stabbed by thousands of sharp needles. His mouth opened; no sound came out as he was simply too overwhelmed with the endless pain causing his body to shake violently as if every cell in his body was on the very thread of breaking apart. The serum spread through his veins like poison burning so intensely, he could swear his organs were melting.
Writhing against the floor; each second of this unbearable hell felt like eternity as tears streaked his eyes. The times he tried to rebuild himself, were quickly shattered like the most brittle of glass as it spread to the very core of his being..to his very soul that threaten to shred his existence apart and all he desired at this moment was to cry...but nothing came out, leaving him completely and utterly alone to take and withstand this grueling, unending nightmare.
And yet, through it all; one small tinge of pain centering from his right hand could be felt through it all. In that instant, it all came rushing in; flooding his mind of that night...the night that had not only crushed his hand, but had taken the sole meaning of his life...the purpose that drove him to new heights. Even the searing pain wracking his body could not hope to match to that of his destroyed dreams and forcefully clenched both hands into tight fists, enough where the fingernails broke the skin.
Terrence slammed both fists against the floor with all his might through clenched teeth as the tears he had been holding out finally spilled...
Lifting his upper body up, head thrown up to let out a roaring scream.'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!....
