Carnel Novell
Carnel sighed as he thought back to the recent events in DGO, particularly the encounter he had with Eclipse Princess. The more he did so, the more he felt unsatisfied about it. Not about the fact that it got interrupted early on, but by how powerful she seemed to him. It was more than just the level and equipment quality difference; she most likely had more experience in PVP combat than he did as well. If he were to face her again, Carnel doubted he would have come out on top. It was a depressing thought, really, but that was reality. He was weak. Of course, he would need to get stronger, and he undoubtedly would, but would it be fast enough? Would he make it before he reached 18 and got removed from Deep Ground?
If he went by along his current pace, chances were that he probably wouldn't. The time he was spending in the Bruisers was fun, and at times even insightful in doing business, but he was not making fast enough progress. Levels were coming slow, and he doubted he had enough resources for trading for useful equipment.
Carnel sighed again. DGO was down for maintenance right now, so there wasn't much he could right now to help his character. He needed to experience real life as well, anyway. Getting dressed in proper outdoor clothing, Carnel stepped out of his room to get some fresh air. As he walked, he called his part-time job for any work he could help with. After a short discussion, however, it was clear that he would have to just have to wait until his next shift. That too was disappointing, but it was not unexpected. He briefly wondered what he would do with the free time he had, then decided to wander around for the time being. Perhaps inspiration would strike him somewhere.
Walking along a path, Carnel closed his eyes, letting the sun warm him up. It was quite relaxing, being able to clear his mind a bit. It almost made him forget about his troubles. Walking into someone, however, quickly jarred him from his thoughts. After stumbling a step back, Carnel moved closer and said to the girl, "
Apologies for that, I wasn't looking where I was going. Are you alright?"
