Standing at 6'01", Daedalus is a fighter, slim but with defined muscle structure on what's left of his organic body. He has pitch-black hair that occasionally falls over his face and unusual amethyst-violet eyes. The most obvious feature of his body, however, are the prosthetic limbs that replace his entire left arm (and shoulder, see middle drawing), most of his lower right arm and both legs (feet are more compact, allowing for him to wear normal shoes). Powered by directly manipulating the magical systems within them (see magic for more details), these prosthetic limbs are made of a light-weight alloy that give them a higher resistance to physical damage and magical attacks without making them weight more than their organic counterparts.

His typical style could be very smart-casual, typically wearing a grey shirt with the sleeves rolled up past the elbow and black jeans with a black overcoat and boots. In a formal situation, the shirt would be properly buttoned with the sleeves rolled down and a black tie. His regular coat and jeans would be replaced with a formal black suit and laceless formal shoes.

Likes: Technology, teasing the prince about said technology, Chess and other strategy games, people that see past his metal parts

Dislikes: Arrogant people (mages in particular), meaningless violence, discrimination

Personality: Daedalus, for the most part, presents himself as a calm and intelligent person with a sarcastic but friendly attitude. While not overly friendly, he is a kind yet stern young man; he is willing to help those in need but he hates those that expect the world to owe them something. Respect is part of that, and is something he values greatly.

He can quickly transition to a serious and focussed demeanor when required, a skill he acquired in the military. He is deadly and cold if he needs to be, showing little remorse but willing to show mercy to a defeated enemy if they surrender. He is also highly tactical in combat, often looking for weaknesses to exploit or steps to take in order to win, with a fairly good grip on long-term strategy as well.

Background: Born in a small city on the northern most island of Temperantia and abandoned to an orphanage by uncaring parents, Daedalus was intelligent but never had any major aspirations as a child, coasting through education with high grades but inevitably enlisting with the Temperantian Marine Corps when he turned 16. He served in the Marines for 4 years, rapidly establishing himself as an effective and competent soldier before a monster suppression operation went drastically wrong due to the sudden appearance of a hoard of daemons. He lost all of his limbs and was barely recovered before he could die from his injuries. In order to save his life, and as a reward for faithful service, he was inducted into a experimental program that replaced his damaged limbs with magical-based technology. This program, a multi-national private military contractor separate from the regular military called 'Blackwatch', outfitted him with his specialised technology and he served with them under the rank of Lieutenant. Being a PMC, Blackwatch had no national allegiance and was deployed by various groups and nations, including the Fortitudian Military.

It was during one of these deployments that Daedalus became involved with Prince Adam. Hired by the Fortitudian Military to bolster the security detail of one of the prince's diplomatic trips to Temperantia, Daedalus was chosen to act as a liaison on account of being an ex-native. At one point during the trip, however, a small group from the diplomatic party found themselves being harassed by a much larger group of Temperantian locals, Loyalists that supported the Iustitian Empire and resented Fortitudio's independence. Daedalus was the only person close enough to do anything, but as things became violent he was faced with a choice: Turn against his own people to do what's right; or remain loyal to those of his nation and turn a blind eye. Unknown to him, the prince was also part of that group, incognito, and saw how he fought against his own people to defend the Fortitudian group. He reached out the mercenary and insisted that he fight by his side as one of his advisors, which the king hesitantly agreed to on account of the prince's insistence. He has since been by the prince's side for just over a year and a half.

Weapons/Tools:

• Prototype Hybrid Magi-tech Rifle- Prototype assault/sniper rifle with a 20 round magazine. A mix of modern technology and magic, this weapon functions loosely like regular firearms. A small projectile, similar to a nail in appearance, is used in the place of regular bullets, and the weapons themselves apply magic fed from Daedalus's magic supply to accelerate the bullets. In full-auto Assault Mode, the weapon applies instant repeating bursts of magic to fire the projectiles at medium range and power (like a SCAR-H in terms of damage and rate of fire). He can also transform the weapon into a semi-automatic Sniper Mode, wherein the barrel and scope extend and a bi-pod is folded down if needed. In this mode, the weapon charges up each burst of magic after every shot, which increases the power of each shot but reduces the rate of fire.
• Dual Magi-tech Pistols-Two holdout magi-tech pistols with 12-round magazines. They work using instant bursts of magic, and fire in semi-auto. They are stored in concealed quick-draw mechanisms built into his prosthetic arms, but he can detach the weapons to give to someone else if needed.
• Concealed Arm Blades - Three retracting blades built into his prosthetic arms, designed for incorporation into standard unarmed close-quarters combat. Using standard martial arts techniques, these blades make normal punches lethal.
• Retractable longsword - A fairly standard one-and-half handed long sword in function, the weapon can be folded down to a 1/4 of its original length and concealed in a compartment inside his leg. Due to the retractable construction, however, the blade is weak and must be reinforced with augment magic to resist breaking during a fight.

Magic/Abilities:
Daedalus has very little magic prowess, especially after his injury, but he specialises in two non-elemental magic types.

• Augmental - Used to control his prosthetics, he has very fine-tuned control over this type of magic which results in a physical strength superior most regular humans, able to lift and throw an average man with one hand.
• Artillery - Useful for storing his primary weapon, he also uses this type of magic to store his ammunition. This eliminates the need to re-supply as he can simply summon more ammo on the move.

Other Items:
Prototype Interceptor Motorcycle - A high-speed superbike allowing him to act as a scout for the rest of the group in the Coronam.

Other Info:
Due to his reduced amount of biological parts, he can go slightly longer without food or water than most.
