She's kept out of trouble by a silver tongue and something of a girlish charm about her. Her hobbies include using her bat form to snoop, and curling up with some classical literature. Her favorite author is Charlotte Bronte.

Biography:
The Ashby family is a fairly weak and diluted bloodline, though still maintain aristocratic status and is among the more dominant families of the United Kingdom, where vampire hunters are more of a problem and the vampire presence is much weaker than the states. Jackie was the middle child of her generation. Her elder brother received all the honor and responsibility. Her younger sister received the attention. Jackie was, besides keeping her out of trouble, largely left to look after herself. When she hit 30, she decided to move to New York, where it was warmer, more cosmopolitan, and the vampire presence much stronger than her native country, though she still maintains good relations to her family, her parents are secretly hopeful she'll marry into a more powerful aristocratic family while over there.
Grek was about to answer when Arjun took over and answered for him. Grek just nodded and thought 'Yep. Yep, that's about right. Not like I wanted to speak anyway.'

The talk of hatchery soured his mood a little further. Yes, some of us haven't contributed to the hatchery our entire lives. There was no need to rub it in. One day there might be a female Kobold who'd want a small, scrawny trapmaker to be the father of her children, but Grek really, really doubted it.

Grek was definitely gravitating more towards 'Alexius' than Arjun. Even if Grek found the newcomer eccentric to the point of weird, he was also something of an outlier of the tribe. He noticed that he was looking around him a little uncomfortable.

"Feeling claustrophobic? I'm sure you'll get used to it again quickly enough. Didn't take me long to stop feeling paranoid and exposed when I'm out there."

Blanc nodded solemnly. Histoire had thought this out well, too well. If she didn't have appearances to keep up, she'd have flipped out by now.

"Very well. It doesn't sound like there's a major chance of disaster. But you have to promise me something, Histoire. If Ram or Rom's signs show any sign that they're in trouble, you get them out immediately. Am I understood?"

She then turned to her little sisters, and had to force a reassuring smile. "Yes, I suppose Mina could get along with Lowee for a short while. It will be safe in her hands. Now, I need you both to promise me something too; Always stay by my side and never leave my sight, and if I get in any danger, find a safe place to hide. Those are my conditions for letting you come."
Can I get a quick run down of the aristocratic families?
Awwww yeah, I got an idea for an Aristocrat. Will make CS tomorrow
Interested and committed
Grek cocked his head and shrugged. "Well, one thing you clearly haven't learned is how to lie convincingly."

He looked down at the outstretched hand, puzzled. "I don't...I don't get it. What is this?" he mumbled as he followed the two into the tunnel.

"Well, I'm looking forward to telling the chief I've had another productive day of not making any traps. At least not finished ones....Oh!" He exclaimed as he forgot about the fake trap that was still in the forest path somewhere. "...Nevermind, I'm sure it'll be fine where it is," he though to himself.

We need to advertise that we're still open or something
Blanc folded her arms.

"I've known you all for too long to think that I have any choice in this matter. Still, we know so little about this other dimension. Is there any way to do more research before we all just jump in? I mean, what if there's something stopping us from coming back? If our little sisters are all with us, who will look after our nations?"

She spared a quick glance at Rom and Ram. She didn't want to put them in any danger, but she knew that any objection on her part that they couldn't go whilst Uni and Nepgear could, they'd cause a fuss, or sneak in with them anyway. Or both. That's why she's just suggested indirectly that the plan should be altered so that all the candidates stay behind. That way, her little sisters would be safe.
Heidi watched Peter sit beside her. She hoped that she wasn't required to make conversation. The best action to take would be to say nothing anmd act cold so that he quickly learns how she's going to act every other time they meet. Heidi did not want to have to deal with a complex social situation (every social situation to her is complicated) and was content to carry on with silence, but then he directly asked her a question; "Is this how he always is?"

Heidi's heart started beating faster. Which route should she take now? Not answering at all would be rude and would paint her as unfriendly, and while her brain knew that would be the cleanest conclusion, her heart didn't want people thinking those things about her any more than they probably already do. That said, it was clear that she needed to answer him.

That decided, how should she answer him? Mumble a monosyllabic answer, again, painting her as a little bit of an unfriendly loner? Should she smile and chat, which will make the best impression but require her to keep up that kind of behaviour with him? What should she do?

She recalled the advice Lightsmith had given her about what happens when she starts to panic like this; she just had to turn her brain off and start speaking.

All of the above happened in the blink of an eye, before she outwardly huffed in disapproval of Nightcrawler's actions. "Pretty much," she said quietly. "You eventually get used to it and ignore it."
