Ten years ago, Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm set out together to test the world's first superluminal-capable spacecraft. Their vessel passed through cosmological event, exposing them to an impossibly high dosage of unknown radiation that fundamentally restructured the crews' genetic makeup. Upon returning to earth, the four of them pledged to utilize their new abilities for the betterment of mankind, christening themselves as the Fantastic Four.

They've spent the last decade protecting humanity from all sorts of fantastical threats: the Mole Man, the Wizard, Ronan the Accuser and the Super-Skrull, Annihilus, Victor Von Doom, the Council of Reeds, Mongul, as well as a host of others. The four of them have explored a vast multitude of planets, dimensions and universes. They have discovered unimaginable truths about the nature of existence, and they have stood before cosmic entities of existential significance. Through it all they've only grown closer as a team- and a family.

Put simply, I have an itch for high-concept science fiction shenanigans that only the Fantastic Four can fill. I've been reading Johnathan Hickman's run and I'm brimming with inspiration. Its always sort of surprising how one of the oldest and most established superhero teams gets little attention in these One Universe Games, but Morden Man's foray in UOU is something I've gone back to several times while stewing on this sheet. Its just plain good.

As for the character themselves, I decided to take advantage of our longer timeline to include the team's rich history. They're all veteran heroes at this point, ready for just about anything that you could throw at them- or so they believe. I'll be putting a great deal of my focus toward the family dynamic of the Fantastic Four, especially in regards to each member's relationship with Valeria and Franklin, the Richards' kids. Something Hickman emphasizes in his run is the importance of family, and whether or not we're willing to put it before everything else- and in that run's case, before the world. That's something I'd like to touch on as well.

Oh yea, I forgot that super-taxi can just carry her over. She still hasn’t gotten web slinging for speed down yet.

If that's what ya wanna do, you can just write supes flying her over in your next post. Otherwise he's headed off to join Raven and GL.
SEASON ONE Sensation & Wonder

Brooklyn New York City

The building crumbled the moment Superboy let go. What was once the dwelling of two dozen people became a deluge of brick and broken glass. It crashed into the earth, ejecting a dust cloud across the street. Those survivors still lingering were forced to pull away, covering their faces with whatever material they had on hand- that 'dust' could shred their lungs if they inhaled too much of it. Superboy floated amidst the cloud, unaffected. He wondered what it must feel like to lose everything in one stroke, as they all had. The boy stared at them for too long, trying- and failing- to imagine it.

One of the camera drones passed between him and the crowd, cutting off the thought. 'Right. Back to work.'

He shifted his attention back to the battle raging all around them. Opening up his senses, he began to listen in on SHIELD radio chatter. That helicarrier engaging the alien mothership was having a rough time of it. Just like the first time the Dominators invaded, it became clear that conventional weapons were ineffective against their defenses. Lady Liberty could hold its attention for a time, but someone would need to step in soon. Agents inside were reporting that Spider-Man was running around a lab, too. That made him sneer. What was the web-head doing in there when the fight was out here?

Colonel Rogers had taken his team to Times Square to meet up with a handful of Avengers and some dude with a bow. That'd be the best place to stop by if he wanted to coordinate with the rest of the responders. Not his style, though: the old geezer would probably just stick him on rescue ops while the big guns got all the spotlight.

Speaking of...

"Hey, where'd all those alien freaks go?" Superboy flew up alongside where Silk was hanging. He glanced down the street, his telescopic vision taking in the utter massacre that he'd missed while his attention was absorbed with the evacuation. Hundreds of dead Chitauri lay in heaps, purple smoke drifting from their agape mouths. He felt a genuine anger rise in his chest at the sight of the giant leviathan laid on his back, apparently brought down by the same thing. The monster he'd failed to kill.

"Damn it, I had that! Who..." His gaze shifted toward the Dominator ship hanging in the sky, and the gargantuan spectral chains clasped around it. Some woman in black was holding the skull-shaped engine of destruction in place as a familiar green space cop shot right through it. Green Lantern. She was arguably the heaviest hitter on the Avengers roster, and one of the few people on earth who could give the big man a run for his money.

He glowered. "That oughta be me. I oughta be up there, not stuck with-" The words caught in his mouth as he glanced back over to Silk. Shit. Not his best look. Every bone in his body was screaming at him to just leave the newbie behind and take off to join the fight, but something kept him there...for the moment, at least. "Uh, listen, it looks like everything's finished up here. You want a ride over to Manhattan or can you get there yourself? That's where everybody else is meetin' up."
If it is directly over lower Manhattan then it’s only like, 3 miles. If it is above upper Manhattan then that’s like 15 miles. You’d still be able to see the obvious space ship on the skyline from Brooklyn.

But what is more fun? I don’t want Superboy and Silk (well mainly Silk since it is her second fight ever) to be too easy

If Raven's cleaned up the Chitauri we'd have free reign to meet up with the others or respond to the remaining threats. Nothing's too far out of reach with the super-taxi
A bit of a longer post, but really trying to make Cindy's first appearance riddled with mistakes and her learning as she goes. As well as explaining how she isn't completely clueless.

Kind of wish I started her story differently, maybe several posts detailing her school, studies, and her spider training. Instead I am jamming an origin story in like, 3 posts lol

Liked your post! Don't have too much for the Boy to do at the moment so I got a quickie out and passed the ball back to you. Let me know if you want to include any dialogue or back-and-forth in your reply. I figure we can finish up with the rescue with your next post and possibly move on to cleaning up the Chitauri, if you'd be down for that.
SEASON ONE Sensation & Wonder

Brooklyn New York City

Help arrived in the nick of time- just not the help Superboy had expected. In the place of New York's infamous Wall-Crawler stood some nobody copycat. Worse, her costume was a complete disaster. She looked like somebody'd dragged her out of bed and tangled her in the world's biggest spider web. Superboy could already hear Rex Leech chewing his ear off for it: unmarketable, no name recognition, terrible on camera. Ever-scrutinizing eyes followed him everywhere he went, even now: they floated around him, making sure to capture every moment of peril and human suffering for the thousands watching from the safety of their homes.

Still, the young woman had powers, and she was willing to help people with them. That'd have to be enough.

"Thanks for the assist, uh, Spider-Girl?" Superboy called to her over his shoulder, crumbling building still held between his hands. Her questions made him scoff. "I could hold all'a Brooklyn if I wanted, but I can't do this n' evacuate folks at the same time."

Even as he boasted, he could feel brick crumbling in his fingers. He had to readjust his grip several times to keep from shearing straight through the material and letting the whole thing fall. Without anything solid to keep a hold of, it'd eventually come apart regardless of his strength.

They didn't have much time. "Pop inside n' start ferrying people out. Soon as we're clear you give me the signal and I'll drop this load'a rocks n' get back to kicking alien ass. That sound fair?"

He was all too keenly aware of Chitauri continuing their rampage through the borough. He could hear the thousands of panicking voices rising through the air. Could feel the heat of energy weapons discharging. And anyone could hear that low, rumbling roar from the leviathan still flying overhead that he'd failed to put down. This was the biggest crisis he'd faced since putting on the S, and every second he wasted here felt wasted- how many people were dying because he couldn't stop a simple building fire? Something like this would've taken Superman less than a moment's effort to overcome: a single, cold breath and he could be on his way to confront the Dominators directly. And here Superboy was, stuck holding up a wall.
@Cybermaxx
Set me up with a person falling from the building or something? I can swoop in.

Diddly done. Give 'em hell skipper
SEASON ONE Sensation & Wonder

Brooklyn New York City

A raging inferno consumed an apartment complex in Flashbush, Brooklyn. Its redbrick exterior was pockmarked with plasma blasts from the initial Chitauri landing- though the aliens had advanced farther down the borough, they'd left a path of suffering and destruction in their wake. Many of the building's residents that had managed to escape the blaze had gathered outside on the sidewalk. Some paced, cellphones to their ears as they tried to contact help. Others performed first aid on those wounded among their number. A few had gathered buckets and were taking hammers to a nearby fire hydrant.

Superboy hovered a hundred feet above it all, taking in the situation. Shutting out the world he focused his hearing on the burning structure, trying to locate those still trapped inside. They were scattered across every floor, blocked from any easy exit. The fire escape had partially collapsed, its metal frame twisted and melted from a now all-too familiar super-heated energy. The main halllways's floor had fallen in on itself; seemed he'd have to make his own entrance.

He busted through the ceiling feet first, landing with a heavy thud in the middle of a living room. An aging, balding man stood from his crouch in the corner, a young boy in his arms. The kid had a soot-stained Spider-Man shirt wrapped around his face to keep out the smoke. "You trying to bring this place down?" The old man yelled.

"I'm tryin' to save your ass, ya geezer." Superboy approached, wrapping his arms around each of them.

The elder insisted, however, pushing against the Kryptonian. "Fire's already compromised it as is. Break the wrong wall and everybody in here's dead, get it?"

Superboy quieted. After a moment's pause, he nodded.

"Windows are your best bet. Interior walls are non-load bearing, so if ya gotta get from a bed room to a bathroom you oughta be fine." He explained, finally allowing Superboy to pick him and his nephew up. They returned to the center of the room where he'd made his original entrance before taking off into the sky. "This your first building fire?"

"Search and rescue ain't exactly my brand." Superboy muttered, making a careful landing on the sidewalk so he could set his two charges down. "But I 'ppreciate the advice."

"And I appreciate you saving my boy. Now get back in there." The man stepped away to pull his nephew into a tight embrace.

A strange feeling fluttered in Superboy's gut even as he turned to take flight again. It was the first time he'd felt anything like it in the short time he'd been in the public eye. Best not to dwell on whatever it is now- he needed to focus on the mission at hand. There were still sixteen people inside and there was no telling how long they had. Superboy breached the building again, this time tucking and rolling through a glass pane instead of brick and mortar.

He was forced to move painfully slowly as he lifted people out of their home. The human body wasn't designed to take the G-force that Superboy could dish out on a casual flyby. If he took off too quick or turned too suddenly there was a real chance he'd tear someone up. It was frustrating, anxiety-inducing even, to listen to the structure's integrity fluctuate while he moved at the speed of molasses.

'Come on, come on. I don't have time for this.'

Something metal began to screech as Superboy ferried a couple through the air. He twisted around just in time to watch a tear spread across the brick siding of the building. It spread like a spiderweb across a huge portion of the complex. "Shit! No!" Panicked, he shot toward the ground and landed fast enough to break the boyfriend's rib.

Leaving him behind with his fiance, Superboy raced to the side of the building and dug his fingers into the brick. With the tiniest grunt of exertion he tugged, keeping the two halves of the wall from fully tearing away from each other. Other parts of the building were still mid-collapse. He could hear flooring give out from somewhere inside, and the crack was spreading rapidly.

Someone was yelling for help. He looked up to see a woman halfway hanging out of a window and waving down at him. She was right in the path of the coming collapse. If he let go of the wall he could grab, sure, but at this point Superboy was the only thing keeping half the building together. What happened to everyone inside if he let go?

His mind raced as he tried to think of a solution. There had to be a way to save her. There had to be-

A sound played in his ear, distant yet approaching rapidly. Oddly familiar. Was that...

"Jump!" He yelled up at her. "Trust me, someone'll catch you!"
