A MAGICAL GIRL ADVENTURE
Long ago upon the Age of Tales, magic still reigned over the world. In its very real and very physical grasp, miracles were performed and spiraling feats that spun forth stories were commonplace from all the land over. It was within these very stories in which true magic was held and stored, passed down along the centuries and holding within them a special power of their own. This was the advent of Magical Girls, those gifted with the power to unlock the magic in the stories hidden in plain sight all around them.

Fairly maidens chosen by forces beyond to bring about hope and justice among the world, Magical Girls have been among the shadows long throughout history, waging an endless war against those who seek chaos. Their enemies have remained even now as the Pageless, creatures from a different beyond who seek to consume all the stories of the world. Cloaked in darkness and negativity, it is only by the power of stories and the Magical Girls who wield them to keep back darkness at its bay.

As history progressed, so too have the methods of the Magical Girls. Friendship and loyalty have remained staple keys of their power, fueling the Grimoires that hold their story magic together. It wasn’t long before all the world over united in their war against the Pageless; and thus, the Grand Ministry was born. Located at the heart of modern innovation and historical narrative, the Grand Ministry continues to watch over the world in plain view within the heart of England. It has been this way for some time and shall continue to be this way for all of time to pass….

And yet, there is whisper of a great catastrophe coming to the world. The end of all stories beckons its reach as the Pageless grow stronger, wilder, and more erratic. Something is coming, something beyond the Grand Ministry’s sight. Perhaps then, the world’s stories truly aren’t enough to vanquish its erasure after all. Only time can tell.

SETTING
Welcome to Marrywell Academy. Located deep in the bode of England's most prestigious city of London, Marrywell Academy boasts itself as the most astute all-female education center in the world. It is here where only the best of the best and the brightest of minds are gathered to shape the future. While naysayers may look upon the castle-like grand walls and think only of normal boarding schools, Marrywell Academy's feats and reputation put all doubts to ease. Indeed, it is here where a girl's future is made into reality with a strong and positive career meant to launch them forward. At least, that's what the public believes.

In truth, the walls of Marrywell Academy serve as a fortress and base of operations for all the Magical Girls of the world. Hidden in plain sight, the school doubles as the heart of the Grand Ministry, the global organization of Magical Girls who watch and protect the world from the very shadows they face. It is here where your journey begins; or perhaps it's already started quite a while ago, having been a seasoned Magical Girl yourself. The choice is yours, your magic and Grimoire yours to decide what to do with. Regardless of your first impressions, one thing is constant.

The Pageless are growing restless. For the first time in years, the Pageless grow bold in their mark and more daring in their pursuit both for humans and the very stories that give a Magical Girl her power; the Grimoires. To what end is their hunt and their goals? That darkest mystery is for you to decide. Make friends, study hard, gather together, and combat back the darkness into the recesses where all stories come from. And, above all else in your endeavors, trust in the Grand Ministry.

No problem. I don't have a hard cap number I'm looking for, just a good amount of initial interest, then going from there.
Welcome, welcome. The intro’s a bit short so if there’s any questions you all
have, feel free to ask.

It wasn’t even five minutes of waking before Kanbaru’s bored state brought her to the new interloper. While she had probably long since earned that right, it made for an annoying jostling for the shared mind inside her. The JSTR felt nearly compelled to make a sawing cut run right through Vi-vi for being the source of Kanbaru’s head flopping harder under her hat. It also felt a desire to smack the whale across the back of her locks once again.

But it refrained from either of those for now when their surroundings had to be taken into account. Riku and Thomas were gone but no doubt not too far off, and their demonic guide had flitted away as well. It knew Runa would return though, unlike the missing Katie and Ami; the demon always returned when the forces of the Abyss creeped closer. It was that very scenario that had the virus almost sneering in imagery only Kanbaru could see because soon enough and just like before, the air grew denser, colder.

The very same phenomenon that made manifest before and gave Runa cause to flee returned, the thick fog having found their hiding spot at last. Much like before, all in its presence decayed to ruination. The great rock structures dissolved as if they were melting, aging with process and run rotted to the core while the ground patched itself with horrible mutation unnatural even to the Abyss. The very air, despite the thick fog, grew thinner as if the very oxygen was dying.

The JSTR prodded Kanbaru’s brain to take note of this as soon enough they’d be trapped and forced to find a new location. Runa’s appearance to lead them to such wouldn’t be unexpected either because the fog had long since caught up to her location with Riku and Thomas. Indeed, the JSTR waited curiously for the demonic blunette’s next move and word of advice.

“Hmm….” It was rare for Ark Riders to actually talk sense and make equal more of it too. But on those rare such occasions they were known to sway the billing boards in their favor, and not all the time in fairness of sportsmanship. Wave nodded to herself in this rumination, though it was doubtful either Claudia or Rema saw the action; she forgot if her screen was on or not. The prospect of more entertaining stunts and displays in the race piqued her interest.

But it wasn’t until Claudia made her piece that truly got Wave to thinking. More danger inevitably created more convoluted situations for the Ark Riders to work through and that resulted in bigger booms for the crowd. Sure, this was a blatant attempt to gain more points in what Wave would usually find as unworthing of her time to negotiate, but the duo did make valuable points that saw her overlook this groveling. “Wait here,” she flatly told them both.

The sound of her mic cutting off echoed in the drone and for a minute or so the two were given radio silence. More than likely, Wave was negotiating with the Mevalo higher ups themselves and perhaps even the mysterious new sponsor for this year’s grand prix. Either way they wouldn’t have to wait long before Wave’s voice cut back in. “Alright, you two make some good points so we’re changing the templates of how races work from here on out,” said Wave. There was a clear sneer in her voice and a curl in her lips as if she was smirking.

“You’ll be given the same number of points as Aurora for displaying exceptional racing prowess, Rema, making you tied for first. As for you redhead, you’ll get a pity point for being this Roman’s wingman. Figure out where that places you in the ranking. We’ll be keeping an eye on the races more thoroughly from now on. Good luck you two~” Wave’s voice was ominous and the feed snapped away with that lasting remark. The drone circled one more time around the newfound “friends” before floating off to catch other footage. Unbeknownst to them, Wave was just informed of Gin’s happy interactions with the Mevalo media and found it no less amusing.

Oh, there would be more of that to come but for now she heeded off the drone hounds to leave Gin be. After all, the next race was about to begin. Murmurs and whispers of what the next track could be passed through the audience like an electric buzz. Some thought it’d be a frigid ice track meant to test the Ark Rider’s stability and handling of their machines while others insisted it’d be a dense, humid jungle of undergrowth filled with twists and turns. No shortage of the imagination was impossible under Mevalo’s banner and it wouldn’t be long before Wave’s voice announced, “Ark Riders, you have ten minutes to head back to the tracks and prepare for the next race!”

This wasn't how she expected things to go, but then again, she doubted anyone would have accounted for this. Still, no one ended up dying somehow and perhaps that was what really mattered. These thoughts were hidden and kept to Katie alone as she observed the Tower group. It was some time since they settled down in the strange Abyssal ruins that almost resembled as city long ago. She herself rested with her back to a jutted chunk of what used to be a wall, arms crossed and saying nothing as everyone went on with their business. Somehow she felt it was the start of a long night; did night even exist in the Abyss? She supposed they'd all find out in a darkness deeper than dreams.
