It’s a sign my next character is a luck-based Magical Girl.
I’ll post tomorrow.

“Hmm?”

The Red Scholar was lost in her own headspace and train of thought, so it was only natural she slightly jumped to the presence of another. Her instincts immediately told her it was just one of the fellow Envoy and the voice coupled with the snuggling confirmed it was Liora. Rean wondered what the sight must have looked like to outsiders and onlookers but she found she didn’t care what they thought. All that mattered was the mission…and whatever sort of fun their group could get into while obtaining that goal.

“Oh, Liora. Sorry, I was just thinking to myself,” she sheepishly explained to the other girl, not completely shrugging away from her arm. “Hopefully I wasn’t mumbling too. Who knows what I was letting slip out, hahaa~” An apple’s crunch filled her ears and the harsher rumble of her stomach made her realize she skipped breakfast. Or lunch? Honestly, Rean wasn’t quite sure what time of day it was anymore. “Well, I must admit, your company was rather impressionable Liora. Have to say, you might be one of my favorites out of our brothers and sisters.”

Rean leaned back, hands outstretched on the fountain’s edge as she sighed. “I was just thinking on how to get into that library. Figured that’d be the best place to look for information and spear our investigation,” she said, pointing towards Coris’ library just in front of them. “Alas, as you can see, the place isn’t kind to strangers like us. Really an annoyance….”

The girl’s stomach rumbled again, leaving Rean to place a gloved hand over her abdomen. “And it seems I’ve failed to feed myself. There I go again, lost in my studies. I don’t really care where you got that apple Liora so long as you have another you might not mind sharing? Also, where is Arthur? I swore he was supposed to help us investigate this city...

Like a flame to greedy moths, the strange new casino Floor(?) beckoned to all its patrons with the free and fun in the activities it promoted. The place was loud and electric with energy. The music swelled harder as if trying to drown out Kanbaru’s words. There was no need to be on guard in a place like this. It was time to relax, to rest weary and easy, to recharge and spend their treasure to their heart’s content. At least, that seemed to be the general vibe the flow was going for. All the same, it was surprisingly easy to find one’s party in such a place.

At least, it was for the likes of Kanbaru and Akiko. A shift and a push in the whale’s mind was indication that something changed, courtesy of the JSTR. Yes, a new prospect was reborn and eager to carry forward, manifested in Akiko’s will. It was a fancy, if not elaborate, way to say the cat was more of an ally now than an outright nuisance. The JSTR saw fit to inform its host before its obsession turned back to Nephy’s data and potential card, drawing out her true form…

Elsewhere, but not too far as distance and space meant nothing in this place if one really tried, was a familiar dark presence. In a corner of the grand casino and colorful world was a bar, one of several that dotted the landscape. Red lighting pitched under its patrons and the music seemed a little less chaotic in this spot compared to others. It made for the perfect place to mediate migraines and frustrations, one that Katie took full advantage of. To her, time hadn’t moved an inch, but her gaze was more dowry, more annoyed than usual.

An all but invisible shroud of dark aura encompassed her, threatening away the casino’s rowdy dwellers more than usual. That was fine. The various bunny themed creatures and bunny shaped servers were savvy enough not to let their obsession take over, though it didn’t stop them from parting long glances and flirtations towards Kiara’s daughter as madness would. They knew better not to approach the Bastion scion when she was in a bad mood. And Katie was in a particularly foul mood. She drained her drink, sitting on the bar’s chair and keeping to herself.

My next post will move us on but not before some others post. I know they're waiting closer to the weekend to wrap things up.
Ah, geez, sorry about the long absence, everyone. Abruptly found myself too busy to participate, and somehow it kept slipping my mind to poke back in. So, just wanted to mention that I love this RP and am overall still interested in it, but I'm too occupied to stay active right now.

Luckily, from an IC standpoint, Camelot had pretty good reason to step out of the way for a while, what with her powers being so blatantly on the fritz. Hopefully, I'll be able to hook back up with this once I regain some mojo and spare time.

No worries. You’re free to join back in once you get more time and availability.

Time passed as all things did and soon the group would have to come to a consensus and a decision. They seemed in agreement on their course of action overall, choosing to split up and cover more ground that way. Then there was that little snippet of conversation near the bar. Rean perked from those gathered words, noting how interesting that probably sounded. Imperial involvement? Surely there had to be something more to it than just that? But that ultimately wasn’t her concern and she figured if it was important, someone else could pick up on it. Someone who was, preferably, exploring out of the city and into that matter of disappeared soldiers.

“Alright gang, as fun as it’s been for one big happy reunion, we really should get to work. I’m more than happy to stick around the city and look for information, especially around that huge library I spied on the way in. I wouldn’t be much use adventuring anyway,” Rean told the other Envoys. Lurched from her seat, she gave a healthy stretch before striding towards the tavern door. “Say, think we should use this place as our meetup? Would make sense since we all know where it is, hmm….food for thought~” She departed with a wave.

It was far past evening by the time she exited and with it came the human, aching reminder that she still needed some form of rest. Envoy or not, there was little use continuing if her body turned vessel collapsed. Spotting a place to do just that, she’d rest for the remainder of the night and head for her destination the following day. She had little worry about being separated from her fellow Envoys; even apart, they were together in sense and purpose. At least, she liked to believe that.

Off she went towards her library, said to be one of the largest in all of Coris. A scholar by heart and book handler by profession, it only made sense the Envoy would figure that was to be the best start in finding any clue. And, of course, she couldn’t help but compare just how Coris stacked up to her family’s own librarians and stores. The thought was giddy in her head even as she passed by the many temples erected in worship of the gods. Rean noticed several in display but, tellingly, none for the less favorable gods. Like herself. “Since when did I become such a bad guy?” she chuckled, finding little to no reference to Reemis in the public worship.

Oh well. Soon, soon, soon enough there was time to spread the name of true Vengeance to the good people of the mortal realm. But for now…ah yes, the library. She’d heard the building was owned by a Lord Dunham, one so very protective of his scrolls and knowledge. Indeed, even as she spotted the library’s entrance, she found it guarded from the outside by men in official-looking clothing. “What exactly is the point of having such a big place in daylight if no one can approach it?” she muttered with a sigh, real annoyance flicking over her features for once.

She needed another way around. Or a plan to just break in. Rean spotted a water fountain nearby among the outcrop of buildings, deigning to sit on the edge of it and ponder in thought. She couldn’t just brute force her way and cause a scene like Vyandar could she? No no, that was a fool’s mistake. Maybe she could swiftalk the guards? Maybe. In hindsight, she realized the real mistake was leaving the group first without checking if anyone wanted to follow. Oh, the irony.

“Ahaah, some teamwork we have….”

Ozma just might start calling her Toto too.

It sounded like the students were wrapping up their night class. Charlotte kept one ear on the arena and one on Maria and the newly introduced Celina. It wouldn’t be long before everyone was dismissed back to their dorms for the night but for now, they had a minute or two to lounge about. After all, the only consequence was, of course, being late to their morning classes. Charlotte turned her full attention on Celina even as she gave Maria a nod and farewell wave.

It was like night and day seeing the two girls beside each other, if only momentarily before Maria left to bother Valeria. The difference in their magic, the difference in their experience; it was like a contrasted conduction of energy between Maria and Celina. Soon enough Charlotte’s instincts were confirmed when the blonde introduced herself as a new student. Somewhere in her head the redhead wondered if Celina assumed she was a teacher. Or maybe the Grand Minister set the new girl up to approach her? It was all coincidence and, frankly, doubtful. But one could never be too sure in a school where the dean predicted all possibilities.

She was just about to welcome Celina as the new student she was before a rush of magic plumed in front of her. Gone was the blonde, now replaced with a stark red hood and wolven ears that could only mean she held the Little Red Riding Hood Grimoire. Charlotte’s expression paused for a good moment before her eyes twinkled and smile widened. “Oh wow you’re…so….cute!!!” The Crimson Comet was mere inches away from the new girl in a matter of moments, gaze sparkling as she looked up and down the wolf girl’s transformation.

“We haven’t had a student with that kind of Grimoire yet! Your ears look so fluffy too! Can I pet em? I’m gonna pet em,” the Brit said with confidence that would not be shaken. She did just that, marveling at how soft Lupin’s ears were with gentle pats, the gray tufts just peeking out from under her hood. “So cool, so cuuuuute….oh, uh, welcome to Marrywell too. I’m, uh, not actually part of the staff so….” Charlotte unconsciously kept patting even as she said, “I can point you to a teacher but your schedule should be in your dorm by the time ya get there.”

They should be having a post up this weekend.
