Star Wars: Jedi Academy

Five years have passed since the Battle of Jakku and the defeat of the Galactic Empire. The New Republic has begun the process of rebuilding the galaxy, and Luke Skywalker, hero of the Rebellion, has taken steps to restore the Jedi Order, creating a new Jedi Academy on the world of D’Qar. With him are the few Jedi Knights he has since trained in the ways of the Force, and together they and the next generation seek a new beginning of light where once there was only darkness.

Peace, however, is fragile, and the New Republic struggles to confirm its place amongst the galaxy, its power tenuous amidst a divided peoples. Hutt territory is expanding, the Imperial Remnant is steadfastly defiant, and the Dark Side lurks just out of sight.

The New Jedi Order is young, untested, but in the coming years the next generation of Jedi will take the mantle of protecting the galaxy as countless men and women have down for eons before. The Jedi Academy of D’Qar is merely the start, and should it succeed the Jedi will once again find their place in the Force. But first they must survive the trials ahead.

Overview

In this RP you will play as the first generation of Jedi recruits that are to be trained in the ways of the Force. You will start at the Jedi Academy on the planet D'Qar as apprentices. We will be using mainly Legends content but some of the New Canon. The Jedi Knights that will be your teachers will be the Co-OPs and it will be two students to a Knight. However, if more students app than Knights, then I will allow others to become Knights to compensate. So right now, there is me and one other co-op, so two knights at the moment. If you wish to be a knight/co-op, then notify me by Pms or just say something in the thread.

All apprentices should have the core Force abilities, and for now, he will be using a temporary single, duel or double-bladed lightsaber unless you can come up with a good reason to have a pre-existing lightsaber of any type. The color of the lightsaber, for now, should be blue or green. You can choose the color and the lightsaber type later at the end of Act 1. It is encouraged you make an original character rather than use a pre-existing character like Kyle Katarn.

Factions

NEW REPUBLIC
Born from the rebellion, the New Republic has restored democratic function to the galaxy after many years of civil war, however, with the power vacuum left in the Empire's wake the fledgling government has yet to cement its place as the rightful authority. Currently the New Republic is attempting to rebuild worlds affected by the war. Coruscant is the capital with Mon Mothma being elected as the first Head of State.

NEW JEDI ORDER
Under the leadership of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, the Jedi Order has reformed with a handful of Knights to sow the path. After scouting for a location for which to construct a new academy the planet D'Qar was chosen. The small, abandoned Rebel outpost was reworked and has grown to a proper Jedi Academy complete with support staff. The New Jedi Order is young still but its destiny is laid out before it.

IMPERIAL REMNANT
What remained of the Galactic Empire following the Battle of Jakku retreated to the Outer Rim Territories, and though fractured remains a threat to the stability of the galaxy still recovering from war. Currently attempting to secure what few systems that remain under Imperial control and, rumor has it, infighting has led to internal conflicts that threaten a complete disintegration of the Empire, if not the rise of radical ideologies. Bastion is the capital with Vicvin Rownlov, a human male, being the last known leader of the Imperial Remnant.

HUTT CARTEL
Following the collapse of the Galactic Empire, and thus the oppression of criminal syndicates, the Hutts have greatly expanded their territory and, despite erring on the side of caution, have yet to be contested by the New Republic. This failure has led the cartel to take bolder actions in recent months. The current leader of the cartel is Tittu Sken after the death of Jabba.

Kyle always wakes up early and before Tegan. This is normal to him, and she tends to sleep for a bit longer, until seven more or less. Along with his regular routine, getting, taking a quick shower, get dressed, turn on the t.v but keep it low, and make breakfast only while he did do this. Nothing seemed normal to him despite this, and it did not help that he forgot about t.v and instead of the news. It is just noise and static, and he quickly turned it off.

A deep sigh was his response as another reminder of the state the world is in despite the state of the neighborhood. Their piece of peace and normalcy. Which made him wonder if there are places like this out there in the world. He knows he will never know but, the thought of there being safe havens out there helps with things.

So after a tired moment of looking at the t.v, Kyle forced himself to finish his routine and make some breakfast. This is all he can do, really, try to keep that sense of normalcy going for as long as he can and not give in to despair. For a moment, as he reached the fridge and grabbed the handle, he stopped and stared. This is like something out of a comic he used to read, the dead rising up and the survivors trying to find a safe place for themselves. This part of Huddeen is safe but for how much... He stopped himself from finishing the thought, no just focus on making breakfast. He said to himself mentally, trying to keep himself focused and not think about what he dreads will happen. Just focus on the now, and that bridge will be dealt with when it happens. But, for now, breakfast.

So Kyle went about making breakfast, starting with waffles and letting the smell of his cooking fill the house. He may not feel like things are normal, but trying to while he still does help some and is better than nothing.

Tegan, by now, was just getting up, letting out a morning yawn, and lazily looking over at the nearby window. She can see the light coming through and despite still feeling tired. Tegan did a quick stretch before getting out of bed and getting herself ready for the day.

Walking to the living room and she could smell breakfast being made. Good thing I married someone who knows how to cook, she thought as she made her way to the kitchen since god knows how bad she is at making something edible for herself. Entering the kitchen with a warm smile and seeing that Kyle was busy at work. "Hello daring," she said with warmth in her voice.

Kyle answering without looking at her and with a semi-depressed tone. "Good morning."

Tegan stood for a moment with a concerned look on her face. "You doing okay, Kyle?" She knows how Kyle has been doing since the outbreak began, and today he seems more out of it than usual.

Kyle stopped what he was doing and turned around. While Leaning on the countertop with a blank face, "I am fine, Tegan. Just moving along like we are doing right now."

"Do you want to talk about it? You know I am here for you."Sounding sincere," Tegan walked closer to Kyle.

Kyle was about to put his hand out to stop her but had a second thought and relented. Letting her get close to him.

"This about that sound we heard last night?"

"No, no not that though we should talk about that at one point today. But how are you? You look a bit tired." Kyle trying to dodge the question.

"The sound last night did make things hard to go back to sleep, but I am fine now. Well, as you are okay, Kyle." Tegan went to hold his hands gently, "We are in this together, you know that, right?"

Kyle looking a bit relieved, "I know that, Tegan and I are not sure what I would do without you. I mean that, and I... I...
I love you and thank you for everything, and I should go back to making breakfast before I burn something."

Tegan smiled and gave him a soft kiss on the lips."I love you too, and I am here when you need me." Then the two hugged for a moment, and Tegan started looking along the countertop at the coffee machine."I take it the coffee is ready?"

"Yeah, and it is just how you like it." Saying it with a bit more happiness in his voice.

"In that case, I will be on the porch if you need me." Tegan began pouring herself a fresh cup of coffee.

"Okay, and I will tell you when breakfast is ready" Kyle then went back to making breakfast while Tegan went outside and sat on the outdoor loveseat on the porch.

As Tegan drank her coffee, she watched the street and could see that some of her neighbors were out and about. She did not know any of them, really. She and Kyle have only been in the town a month and have not got a chance to get to know the people here. At least the ones still alive. Still, they have even more reason to talk and get to know them. They are all in this together now, even if they do not realize it yet.
I am fine with discord and I will get a post up sometime today
Finally got around to posting after going through writer's block.
Mateo Secada
Kaitiaki Homestead

New Zealand, was a place that Mateo would not think he would go to. Much less live there, but that is where Raven is based, and he is not complaining as he started to unpack his belongings in his room. He just wished it was not so much of a pain to get to. At least the sights of this island were nice to see coming in and much better than his old posting. Plus, more to see as he explored the island and find a good route to jog. But he has plenty of time for that before his next mission, hopefully. If not, there is always time during R&R.

After he was done unpacking and satisfied with himself, Mateo, with a smile, left his room and suddenly remembered something. Something that he needed to check, technically not important to any mission or the team. But, something he had to check out, and so he headed to the rec room.

Just in time to see two of his teammates talking to each other. One of them being his new boss, Skye Lyons. While Mateo would have tried to talk to her right now, he did not wish to interrupt her conversation and headed back to his main objective. The bar and quickly went about taking stock of what it has. A satisfying "Yes" came from a relieved Mateo. They have the alcohol I like and can mix with, he thought. Yes, alcohol is not a big concern normally to a spec ops operative, but if he is going to live here, then at least he can have some fun by making cocktails.

Now that was settled, Mateo decided to relax for a bit while he was in the rec room. He is already here, and the sun is setting, so why not. So he grabbed some whiskey and poured himself a drink. Then he found a recliner with an end table next to it and laid down. It was a long trip here, he thought, and it was about time he could relax a bit before his next mission. So there he lay there, comfortable and siping his whiskey, waiting for night to come and for the eventual debrief.

PARTYCRASHER
Aral Sea, Kazakhstan

Mateo was busy in the main DPV getting ready, not saying a word, unlike other missions where he would go in close. This mission, given there were others like him and it was in a big dry desert with not that many places to hide other than the abandoned, rusted boats. So sniping enemies from away seemed like the go-to plan for him. Still, he did carry one of his submachine guns just in case he needed to get close.

Then checking to make sure that his suit was working correctly since, again, little cover and his cloaking is going to be a must here if Queen deems that he needed to get in close. As he was done, Mateo took a look around, and it was almost hard to believe that this used to be a sea full of water and fish. The only clues are the rusted and abandoned, rusted boats to give some idea of what this area used to be like. A shame, really but nothing he can do about it but just focus on the mission.

So once the DPV had stopped and the squad got out. Mateo simply replied with an "understood" and went to the hill. Which did take him a bit, and he could only feel jealous as he watched Stafford fast jog and reach the hill first because of the speed of his exo-suit. While Mateo's suit had its advantages, it did not grant speed, unlike Stafford's suit. So it took him a bit to catch up.

But, once he had reached the hill, Mateo went prone, activated his suit's cloaking and brought out his binoculars, and turned on the night vision setting. Getting a sense of the scene, and it was one you would find in a desert. Sand, a few shrubs, dead trees. Then he focused on the ship or what was left of it. Mateo heard of Stafford's report and simply scanned the scene for anything he might have missed. Anything else of value and switched to thermal to see if he could see anything else hidden by the ship's frame. If he did find anything else, he did report back to Queen and put his binoculars away, and brought out his sniper rifle. Readying himself for orders and for this mission to really start.
Vel Arrianus

You do not have to do this. There are other ways of proving yourself. Why must you do this, brother? This and more questions made by his family that echoed and repeated in his head. As Vel sat in his room alone at the family estate. Sitting on his bed while looking down at the floor with his eyes closed and his hands on his head. Is this an easy choice to make no, are there other ways of achieving his goals maybe, and does he have to do this? The answer to that question he already knows and an answer that his family does not treat lightly.

True, he did manage to convince his family to get their blessing for this, but he can clearly tell that it was not an easy one to do despite being the youngest of his family and the least likely to achieve anything of value. Vel was still loved by his family, and they were not keen to see one of their members go off to Ordai'el and perhaps never come back. However, chances are that he will never come back from Ordai'el. Like the others that have been sent before them.

Still, that dream he had, that dream from just nights ago. It was so vivid, and he could just see Ordai'el just how he remembered it. The sights, the sounds, and the hospital where he spent two years at. Full of patients and doctors of the highest quality. Where he learned how to mend basic wounds as he recovered from his own illness. Was it chance or luck that spared him being trapped in that city as the fog devoured it. He may never know, but one thing he is sure about is that he has to try.

Vel opened his eyes and moved his right hand down from his head to gaze at the ring he had. It was not a unique or luxurious one as one that a noble like him would wear. A simple one, it is, but it bears the symbol of Dhorbris, and it was a gift from one of the doctors that he met while he was at the hospital in Ordai'el. That ring means more to him than others would think, and his value of it is something he does not really talk about. But it gives him strength and it reminds him of the duty he must do.

In the end, he knows one thing about going to Ordai'el. Vel knows that he must try, and even if he dies in the attempt, then it will be fine with him. As long as he honors his duty and go back to that hospital to see if this vision of his is still possible to achieve or if he has already failed.

So Vel got stood up and kneed before his bed and prayed to Sedmis in a hushed tone. "Lord Sedmis, may you grant me strength to honor my duty and to see it done." Then the sound of his door cracking open and the familiar voice of his sister, Naevia. Vel can feel the sadness in her voice, "Vel, it is time."

Silently he got up and turned around to face Naevia, "I am ready, Naevia, and let's never forget this night for as long as we live."

"Sure, Vel," the sadness still in her voice, and the two walked down to the dining room where a party was about to start. This was his party, a farewell party that his parents had organized to honor his decision to go to Ordai'el. One last time to honor his life before going to Ordai'el, maybe never to return. He has some optimism in him despite the odds. Small, but it is there and for the whole night. Vel, his family and his friends, and some nobles from the city partied. There was song, dance, games of skill, and merriment. A night that the people in it would never forget, and it felt to Vel like he was already dead. Gone to some afterlife where there was nothing but this. But this, alas, this was life, and when it was over. There was one last toast for Vel, and then people retired to their rooms as the servants cleaned up the mess.

As Vel retired to his room and prepared to sleep. He made one last prayer to Wether that she watch over his family while he is gone. Then gazing at his ring once again before uttering a single phrase in a hopeful tone, "I will see you again in one way or the other." So now he went to sleep, and tomorrow there will be one last sendoff before leaving for Ordai'el. Vel knows that he may never see his home again, but he is at peace now. He is ready, and all he needs to do now is honor his duty and maybe save Ordai'el. That is all he can do now, is to try.
@Silent Whispers So, was my char denied, or was he just skipped?
<Snipped quote by Theyra>

Aw, I actually really liked Daniel, and was looking forward to connecting through a mutual thing! I think you may just have been skipped over accidentally, not denied (correct me if I'm wrong here).

Oh well, I guess I should have asked first in that case and I am fine with sticking with Daniel. I am just going to ask now if Daniel was denied or not.
Just saw the rp is still open and figured I took could do a second try at a cs. If this one is good enough, that is.

I am fine with either
