Blind in a New World

On the outside, his eyes are open but have the clear sign of being useless. Blind and yet moving with purpose like they still worked.

Is this... what the world looks like? The first thought that entered his mind. The reddish sky and the smoke, the outlines of everything. Of figures both ahead and beside them with features, he can barely discern. Yet he can easily tell them apart, and some are different from the rest for reasons he does not know. An attempt to focus more on them just leads to quiet frustration. Is this how everyone looks looks? Another question he posed to himself. Knowing he had no answer to it but maybe this is how the world looks.

The more he tries to remember for answers, the more he comes to realize. He has no recollection of anything except for one memory and a seemly better time. At least when compared to the scene before him. One of bitter resolve to survive despite the odds and circumstance.

But why the conflict in memory? Is it a memory of what happened before, or does it take place elsewhere? Nothing makes sens, nothing feels familiar except for the two swords that are in each of his hands. Tightly gripping each one in annoyance. Where and who am I?

He will find a way to remember what he has lost but for now. He must focus on the present and that present being dealing with these survivors and ones near him.

Putting his swords away, he slowly approached the two pikemen and spoke in a calm tone. "I am not a threat to you or your charges. I am just someone seeking answers. Answers you may or may not have that is."
Desmond Wathen
Various places

Desmond had gotten up early that day, right at six, when mostly everyone was still asleep. Including his mother, who was still asleep when he woke up. she needed it after yesterday, and he decided to let her sleep.

He slowly got out of bed and quietly put on some warm clothes. He knew he would be needing them, Desmond thought to himself as he curiously looked out the window of his home to the sight of snow falling from the heavens. It looked like a bad one, with no sight of the blue sky, just grey clouds dumping their frozen tears. At least it is not a blizzard, and he can actually move around the town. But there was a reason why he woke up this early and was willing to move around town despite the snow. He needs to release Sliver since she has been rather cooped up in his home for some time, and it is time for her to spread her wings.

Once he was ready with mace and with Silver in tow. He quietly left his home and as soon as he was out in the cold. Silver took off into the morning light. Desmond does not know when she will return, only that she will return once she is ready. Hopefully, after catching something to eat, he thought.

So Desmond had a destination in mind for today, well, several, in fact. Today, he was actually going to check on his goods that have managed to arrive and ready to be sent to his shop once it was ready. There was some progress with its construction, being halfway done, but the falling snow has proved to be a limiting factor to it getting finished. At least quarters for him and his workers and staff were mostly finished before today. Though his mother's was not but once the falling snow lifts, then finishing her house should be no problem.

As Desmond made his way through the falling snow, with each crunch his feet made, he made it to where his goods were being held. A medium-sized warehouse that, luckily, was finished in time for their arrival. After saying hi to his guards and being allowed inside. Did he make his rounds. Everything was in place as he thought, and not a single sight of snow had gotten in. It took some to inspect the goods and seeing how some of the products that he requested for his first two clients in this town were among the goods. Wine and an axe that was surprisingly easier to get than he thought. He even gave him some test swings to see if it was as good as they said. That and he wanted to make a good first impression with his first borderlander client.

However, there was a reason why he was here and not sleeping or elsewhere. Given the recent instance of murder, he felt that he should check up on his goods since who knows if a theft could happen or maybe he was just too worried about things. He is still new to this town and so far, despite the blizzard and the murder. It has been no different to live in the North. Though a blizzard on his first day here and then a murder. Not quite the introduction to this town that he would have liked.

So, after putting the axe back after being satisfied with it. He finished his rounds and left the warehouse. His next stop was his shop. Despite being unfinished, Desmond still wished to check it out and see how much snow was on it. He forgot if the roof was finished yet, and it would be a pain to have to shovel all of that snow off right now.

But, to his relief, as he reached the site of his shop. The roof was finished and, so far, was withstanding the heavy falling snow. It was a simple design, his shop big enough and fancy for someone of his profession and reputation. It had to be if he could compete with the Raunefeldt.

Ayel Raunefeldt was a name he had heard about. Desmond, from what he has heard about this Aurelian merchant, is a rather rich noble who likes himself a bit too much and is not afraid to show his wealth. The Aurelius Emporium is not a company to be taken lightly, and Desmond knows that if the Wathen Trade Company is to do well in Dawnhaven. Then, he needs to stay on his toes and not be complacent.

Then Desmond felt something on his right shoulder, and it was a returning Silver. He smiled and spoke to her, "hello Silver. I trust you had a good flight?"

She simply hooted.

"I will take that as a yes and did you get something to eat?"

Silver would look proud and content with herself.

"Desmond chuckled, "good Silver good." He petted her on the back softly. Desmond is always proud of Silver whenever he goes on a successful hunt, and this one was no different.

Looking back at the world around him, a thought came to mind. While he has been here for some time, he has yet to actually explore the town and figured that now would be a good time to do so, more so with friendly company and with Silver around. Desmond feels at ease, ready to take on the day.

So Desmond, with Silver on his right shoulder, would explore the town and see it for himself.
Mahkam Toychiyev

At the meeting

Mahkam simply waved his hand to the group and took a spot near the back. While he would have been more welcoming to his new teammates, the fact everyone was requested to bring their weapons with them and the serious tone of the meeting. He knew that pleasantries and a proper introduction would have to wait for later. So, with a calm face, he waited to see what this business was about.

Traitors, that is what this is about. Mahkam had heard about the dead pilots, and that was the reason why he was coming in to replace them. But learning that it was intentional sabotage by their own mechanics was eye-opening. His mind started to think as to why they would do this and if they were perhaps working for another PMC or Corp or something. Someone who wanted to see them fail and die. But it seemed like his new commander, Scott, had a plan. But a plan that he was not expecting. Since security is stretched thin, it looks like the pilots will be the ones who will be dealing with the traitors.

He had to admit, he was unsure about this. Sending them to deal with the problem and not actually security. But Mahkam knew that this could not continue, and this had to be dealt with. Plus, he is no coward despite thinking of his family. Mahkam blankly looked down at his gun, a Russian submachine gun. He knew its rounds would be useful at penetrating body armor, or at least Russian body armor. So, with a deep breath, Mahkam readied himself for a firefight. It would be the first time he actually had to use his gun before, but he was trained on how to use it, even if that training was years old.

Still, Mahkam followed Scott out the door with his gun at the ready. He followed his orders and ended up staying with his group when it became time to split up. He was at the back of the group that was hugging the wall to the maintenance building when gunfire erupted. Uttering a single swear in his native tongue before following Scott.

Present

Mahkam entered into the building after Scott and the rest of his group. Trying to ignore the loud sound of Ximena's suppressive fire. He had yet to shoot his gun since both Scott, Yuna, and Ximena made it so that any targets were already dead or hiding for their lives by the time Mahkam had a chance to shoot. Still, he was ready and willing to end this and protect his new team.

So, after looking around and seeing how things were clear at the moment. Mahkam chose to take cover at a large desk that Yuna was taking cover at. Weapon at the ready if more traitors show up, "This is some first day with the team." He said in a surprised and hushed tone as he peered over the desk, seeing if more people would come to them. "Definitely not what I was expecting," as he waited for either a reply from her, more traitors, or new orders from Scott. It has certainly been an interesting day and time to see how more interesting it will be.

Javier Xirau

Javier took a mental note of what was being said, and he was curious. Though he felt like waiting until they knew what they were really messing with trying any of the gear. That and he would rather not accidentally kill himself or someone else with this gear. Plus, he needs the job right now, so better safe than sorry in this case.

When Rochester appeared and later left with Gillmore. Javier was not expecting an actual written test. He sighed, but at least it is a open book one, so this should be easy. So he opened his book and started looking for answers as he started taking the test.

Then, Max spoke up, and that was when Javier looked up and saw Danny at the table and messing with one of the equipment. Speaking to Max first, "I am not, I mean, it is an open book test it should be easy." Sounding pretty sure of himself, and he turned his head to Danny. "I think maybe not to mess with that, and we do have a test to do."

Landing in New World

It was supposed to be a normal combat drop for a squad of the 3rd Special Forces Group. They were being deployed to the independent state of Puntland, used to be apart of Somalia, in support of a Puntland operation against insurgents. They were deployed by HALO jump into the region. It was expected to go as planned, and the squad would assist Puntland forces.

However, during the jump, an intense storm suddenly formed in their path, and they were forced to descent through it. While the storm did not harm them, it did send members off course. But when they did pull their chutes and land. They would quickly discover that the mountainous environment they were supposed to land in, was replaced by a forest with no mountains in sight.

Now scattered away from each other and confused about where they are. These soldiers have to link up and figure out where they are. Eventually, learning that they are in a fantasy world, but something very bad has happened to it.

They have to navigate the land and its dangers to find a way back home. Along the way, they meet an assortment of people and creatures who can help or hinder those lost soldiers in their quest to return home while maybe helping this world in the process.

Whatever they decide to do, it will have consequences for this world and whether or not they can return home.

Overview

Hello and welcome to the rp. In this Gate-like rp(If you are familiar with Gate anime or manga or not), you will be playing as spec ops members of the United States 3rd Special Forces Group that was assigned to a squad to help Puntland in an operation against insurgents. Only during their HALO jump after passing through a sudden storm. They find themselves in an unknown place, a diffident world. A post-apocalyptic fantasy world as they will discover. Where they will explore and meet the locals they come across as they try to find a way home.

Now, in regards to the characters, they can be what you want, male or female, as it makes sense for them to be there. For character pics, go for drawn pics. As for player slots, as I have discovered, squads are bigger than four people, it turns out, so the maximum possible size of the squad will be twelve or fourteen. But the total size of the squad depends on how many people join at the start. NPCs will fill the slots not taken if needed. Which if more people join, then they will take the spots of the NPCs.

As for the post-apocalyptic fantasy world, it will be revealed as the characters explore it, find out what happened to it, and discover the ills that plague it.

So that is it, and if anyone has any questions, then feel free to ask.

I do not normally like Isekai rps, but this one for some reason I am interested in. So I will figure out a char idea and make a cs soon.
