I think I should write a pithy roleplay about how an expenditure of effort does not entitle you to your perception of an equivalent reward. Anyone know someone who'd be interested?

Okay, let's be honest for a second here, if we stop the status bar from being edgy angst land it really doesn't have anything going for it except sheer autism.

Does anyone know where you can get a white trilby embroidered with threatening messages? Asking for a friend.

【Birth Country】 Hiyoko was born in Kyokujitsugakure.
【Current Village】 Currently residing in Kirigakure. 【Affiliation】
Hiyoko is an agent of Kyuuseishu.
【Shinobi Rank】 Jonin Level Ninja (A)
【Personality】 Hiyoko has done much growing throughout her life. At first she was a brash young girl who sought to end conflict as soon as she found it. However, as she grew with her trainings and teachings she became much more mature. Now, she is a refined young woman who at her core is a people person. It can be difficult to grasp her ‘true’ personality as she is often working as a spy or at the very least guarding her identity. As such, she is very rarely herself as it were. In the few moments she is able to be, however, she truly enjoys the little things.
Now that her life is full of conflict and strife, she enjoys the few moments in which she can relax by herself and simply fish in Kirigakure.
As far as her disposition towards combat goes, she was taught to view it as a learning experience. Even in a life or death situation. As such she has no issue whatsoever with combat and doesn’t often find herself worried about it.
Hiyoko doesn’t have too many friends, and she doesn’t commonly like to make lasting relationships. However she has been known to bed the odd woman every now and again, or perhaps find a good drinking buddy. She’s not opposed to camaraderie.
【History】 Hiyoko was born in Kyokujitsugakure. It is peaceful there, as peaceful as it gets during war times. But for whatever reason Hiyoko no matter what she did, could not take to it. She trained alongside other members of her clan and her peers. But she had a problem with how far she would take training. How much she put in to every day training. She wouldn't stop until she had to. She would punch until her target was incapacitated. There were many things she lacked, control, subtlety, precision, and an activated Sharingan. Hiyoko attempted to make up for these lackings in physical strength and dominance.
For some time, it worked. She could out-punch her competitors during the early stages of training, but it was whn her stubbornness saw a stunted growth, that was when she became truly flawed. It wasn't until she met a woman by the name of Kyoko. Kyoko was not immediately struck with Hiyoko, in fact it was quite the opposite. She saw Hiyoko as rather one sided, full of ambition but with almost no talent to achieve that ambition. She was polite in her declination and afterwards, she left Kyokujitsugakure.
Hiyoko took this feedback about as well as could be expected of her. Which was to say she didn't take it well at all. She beat her hands bloody against a tree and when she was done with that she was ready to begin training, should Kyoko ever return. The next year and a half would be spent in vigorous training. She managed to improve her abilities with Fuinjutsu to a functioning capacity in which she could seal and unseal items aobut the size of a kunai with her Jutsu. She also learned some basic Genjutsu. But the most important think Hiyoko did in that year and a half was awaken her Sharingan.
It was simply a single Tomoe, but it possessed her entire potential within it.
By the time Kyoko returned, she could see visible proof of Hiyoko's drive and her will to learn. So, Kyoko took her own as one of her apprentices. She trained with Kyoko for a number of years and in that time learned a great many things. Most importantly the things she lacked when all she wished for was conflict. She learned subtlety, seduction, coercion, precision. She learned everything that would create the woman she was today. And she learned loyalty above all of that.
Kyoko saw something in Hitomi that could truly by honed, like a fine blade. But to activate the latter stages of the Sharingan were no small task. Kyoko's approach to Hitomi's was unique in that it was mostly Genjutsu based. She utilized her Genjutsu to create an entire world for Hiyoko. But, it was almost identical to the world she lived in now. In fact, the only difference was a woman whom she met a the market that morning.
Her training continued in fact, for many months - or so that's what it felt like. As the days and weeks passed Hiyoko grew to love this woman that her teacher had created for her. They had their first kiss, their first night sharing a bed. And then there was Kyoko standing atop that bed holding the head of Hiyoko's lover. Her Sharingan evolved and she awoke, only two hours past when the Genjutsu was first cast. It was cruel, harsh, and incredibly affective. Hiyoko forgave her after a short amount of time grieving a thing that never happened. She felt as though Kyoko knew her better than anyone else from that point. She had seen her inner-most desires.
She would come to swear her fealty to Kyoko and from that day would serve her.
She now found herself in Kirigakure - as a spy. Day by day she was a simple fisherwoman. But at night she gained intel and reported with a fair level of frequency and incredible amount of accuracy. Her occupation was not easy nor safe, but it was perfect for a woman with her own talents.
【Chakra Nature(s)】 Fire, Yin.
【Abilities and Special Traits】 Hiyoko has a natural talent in Genjutsu only bolstered by her Sharingan. While her Sharingan has only reached it's two tomoe-stage it is still incredibly proficient in casting Genjutsu on those who look upon her. She has also been personally trained by one of the most proficient tacticians and Genjutsu masters. Kyoko. This has bolstered her non-Sharingan based Genjutsu and general knowledge of the techniques to a far greater height than it would be without her aid.
While Hiyoko hasn't studied text for very long at all. She has studied people. She is an excellent judge of character and is easily able to discern changes in mood, attitude, and intent.
Hiyoko has been taught interrogation by the best manipulator in the world. While force is an option, it is one of many that Hiyoko may use to exert. Kyoko taught her of seduction, coercion and many other ways of hearing the right thing at the time.
Hiyoko has also become moderately adept with Fuinjutsu. While she can't typically use it to seal people or tailed beasts - she does uses it for dissipation of elemental techniques or relocation of certain abilities, techniques, herself, or items. Typically in a supplementary fashion. Anything from a Katon: Goukyaku no Jutsu to a single shuriken could come from a seal she utilizes. It is this versatility that Kyoko harnessed within Hiyoko.
【Weapons, Tools and Equipment】
Name of Weapon or Item: Omoide 思い出 [Memories] Location: Carried on Hiyoko's back. Can be used to shield her for rain among other things. Owner: Hitomi Uchiha Rank: C
Description: Omoide has two very specific seals on it. The first, located on the inner portion of the umbrella is a protective seal. By channeling a small amount of chakra into the handle of the umbrella Hiyoko can activate it and encase herself in a ball of water that can protect her from fire techniques and weaker Ninjutsu. She can deactivate this technique by stopping the flow of chakra from her hand to the handle.
The second technique and final technique Omoide possesses is in the form of a seal on the outwards facing side of the umbrella. It is activated in a similar fashion to the first technique however instead of one hand being placed on the umbrella, two are required. When the seal is activated it releases a Genjutsu is released that causes the victim to immediately have their senses reversed. It will fell as though attempting to move their right hand will move their left and so on. This technique, unless reversed will only last for two minutes.
Hiyoko carries with her, at all times:
- 25 Kunai
- A pouch on her right hip that contains many seals storing weapons. These include:
- 3 Seals with 3 Fuma Shuriken within each.
- 1 Seal with two Flash Bombs.
- 1 Seal with 25 more Kunai and ten explosive tags.
- 2 Seals with 100ft of wire each.
- Finally, on her person she also carries 100ft of fire disguised to look like fishing wire.
【Kekkei Genkai】
Two-Tomoe Sharingan
Name of the Kekkei Genkai: Sharingan [Copy Wheel Eye] Type of Kekkei Genkai: Dojutsu
The user can see chakra, giving it colour in order to distinguish it by its composition and source. Though not as capable in this regard as the Byakugan, it can see chakra through some (but not all) obstructions and detect irregularities in a person's chakra flow, such as those caused by genjutsu influence.
The user is granted incredible clarity of perception, enabling them to read lips[20] or mimic something like pencil movements. In combat, this allows them to see fast-moving objects and, once fully developed, offers some amount of predictive capabilities: they can anticipate an opponent's next move based on the slightest muscle tension in their body and act accordingly to dodge or intercept. They can also read the enemy's hand seals to give them an insight of the performed technique's nature, regardless of the speed of performance, so long as the hands are not physically hidden from view. Although a Sharingan user can see these things, they also need the physical ability to actually act on the visual information. While there are further abilities, at Hiyoko's current level she can only utilize these as far as the Eye of Insight. She only possesses two Tomoe and as such is unable to copy Ninjutsu, rather she is only able to recieve further insight based on the handseals used to create them. This obviously does not include Taijutsu or Jutsu that do not require handseals.
The Eye of Hypnotism
The user can perform what is generically called Genjutsu: Sharingan. While there are various manifestations and purposes of the ability, the better known one is to, through eye contact, suggest thoughts and actions to a target, coercing them to divulge information or act in a particular way, potentially without the target's awareness. Multiple targets can be taken control of in this way, though the more divided the user's attention is, the easier it is for targets to escape this control. While not an ability per se, the Sharingan user can appear as if they are able to "see the future". First, the user must perfectly mimic every move their opponent makes and possibly their thoughts and words through careful observation. Then, they suggest an action to the opponent such as hand seals for a technique that the opponent and Sharingan user already know and copy that. With these things done, the user can complete the action even before the opponent does, possibly using the Sharingan's genjutsu to confuse or delay them. This is by far Hiyoko's expertise, especially when it comes to the Sharingan and its uses.
Weakness: To use her eyes to their fullest extent requires constant chakra flow. This also can cause sensory overload, as seeing too much to react upon can create too much information to adequately disseminate, in combat this is especially troublesome. Many Uchiha also rely too much on their Sharingan. As with any Dojutsu it also cannot see or interact with Natural Energy or any sort of Senjutsu.
Name of Technique: Miruhito no Me [Eye of the Beholder] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: This technique was taught to Hiyoko by Kyoko. Hiyoko compresses her aura into that of a cloak surrounding her, reducing her range. For a small but constant expenditure of chakra, Hiyoko continually projects a Genjutsu that acts as a perception filter – anyone who looks at her inherently knows that a person is there, but wishes to keep them in the periphery of their mind and ignore them. While Hiyoko lacks the Ten aspect of Kiyoko's Tousei no Eien, and any inconsistencies caused by her presence are not smoothed over and she is essentially completely invisible for as long as she does not do anything to unduly draw attention towards herself. She can, essentially create a similar effect with her Sharingan: Genjutsu, subtly influencing the thought process.
If necessary, provided that she has an image in mind, Hiyoko can also cause the Genjutsu to make her appear like someone else for the duration. This is very mentally taxing to use on multiple individuals simultaneously, and prevents Hiyoko from using other techniques for the duration.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Chigoku Inkan: Kami no Sakura [Verbatim Sealing: Divine Blossom] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: C Range: N/A Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A simple seal that stores another completed jutsu inside it. When activated at the user’s will, the technique is immediately released from the seal. There is a delay of approximately two seconds before the technique is released, during which the seal glows brightly.
Weakness: N/A
Name: Magen: Nise Doku 偽毒 (Demonic Illusion: False Poisoning) Type: Offensive, Genjutsu/Bukijutsu Rank: D Range: Personal Hand Signs: N/A Description: This technique creates the illusion of someone being poisoned upon contact with Hiyoko’s blade. This technique is essentially used to create anxiety and force the victim to think about a solution when one shouldn’t be necessary. It takes their mind off the fight. This is especially useful against those who have the means to cure poison as it may draw that out. This is however, simply an illusion and they are not poisoned. Though panic is never good for the body or mind and further harm by drastically increasing fear and blood pressure can be possible.
Name: Kaifū no Rengoku 地獄廊下 (Unsealing Purgatory) Type: Defensive, Fuinjutsu Rank: C Range: Close Hand Signs: None Description: Utilizing the seal on Hiyoko's umbrella she is able to defend herself from some projectile based Jutsu. There are however, a couple of defining traits to what she is able to stop. She is able to stop only attacks that are purely chakra - like a Fireball Jutsu for example. However, this technique takes a great deal of concentration and perhaps more importantly shield Hiyoko's view. Should the technique fit the criteria, however, the technique will be completely negated and blocked with no harm to Hiyoko or those behind her.
Name: Hagane Rōsoku (鋼蝋燭 ‘Steel Candle’). Type: Offensive, Shurikenjutsu/Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: Medium Hand Signs: 6 Description: After performing Katon: Hōsenka no Jutsu Hiyoko throws shuriken into the fire in order to conceal them. If the opponent attempts to counter the technique that would typically only counter the fire Ninjutsu aspect of this technique it would result poorly for them.
*Name of Technique: Kyūsokuna kon'yaku(急速な婚約 'Rapid Engagement'). Type of Jutsu: Kekkei Ninjutsu. Rank: A Range: N/A. Handseals: N/A. Description: A tricky technique, Kyūsokuna kon'yaku is essentially utilized to make it seem as if an Uchiha has not activated their sharingan. This is done by flowing chakra towards the eyes and allowing it to build up in small bunches along the way so it enters the eye in increments, rather than as a steady stream. This, as well as the intention to activate their eyes, causes the eyes to flicker or, if observed closely, activate and deactivate at such high sped that the doujutsu is never actually seen unless viewed by a specialized technique or another doujutsu. If utilized with yin affinity chakra, the user is capable of initiating powerful, or subtle, genjutsu upon anyone looking at their eyes even in a moment where the sharingan is not activated.
Doujutsu can discern that this technique is being utilized. Additionally, simply not looking at the Uchiha's eyes will allow someone to avoid getting caught in a genjutsu. This technique is not at all chakra taxing, but requires intense focus to maintain for long periods of time.
This technique specifically was taught to Hiyoko by another Uchiha woman she once met. They trained together, for nearly a month before parting ways. Hoping to see one another again sometime soon.
Name of Technique: Shibō Garagara (シボガラガラ ‘Death Rattle’). Type: Genjutsu Rank: B Range: Auditory range Handsign: N/A Description: By imbuing her voice with Chakra, Hiyoko whistles to cast a soothing Genjutsu that usually makes the target incredibly tired, however if the victim is already completely exhausted it will put them in a comatose state for up to ten minutes. This is untraceable with the aid of Dojutsu due to it being completely auditory. This requires very little chakra on Hiyoko’s behalf. However, an enemy actively angaged in combat against Hiyoko will not be very susceptible at all to this technique as they are aware of the noise.
Name of Technique: Seppun no Shi (死のキス ‘Kiss of Death’). Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu, Kekkei Genkai Rank: B Range: Very Close Nature Type: Yin Handseals: None Description: By placing the smallest amount of chakra in her lips Hiyoko can effectively and without fail place the enemy in a Genjutsu in which for them it will feel like their heart has stopped and they will be unable to breathe. In reality they will be placed in a deep sleep until true love’s kiss an hour passes.
Weakness: Don't kiss her ya fool.
Name of Technique: Seppun no Jinsei (人生のキス 'Kiss of Life') Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: B Range: Very Close Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Much like Seppun no Shi, Hiyoko will kiss her victim and when this kiss occurs they will immediately feel a rush of dopamine and powerful Genjutsu will overcome them. One that causes them to essentially fall in love with Hiyoko. It isn't permanent, but it is strong while it lasts. Enough to cause anyone to wish nothing but greatness upon her and immediately divulge any information she wishes to hear.
Weakness: Again, kissing a person is a dangerous position to put yourself in.
Name of Technique: Fuinjutsu: Nozoki Ano (Sealing Technique: Peephole) Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu, Genjutsu Rank: B Range: Far Nature Type: Yin Handseals: Three, one palm on surface. Description: Yuen places a seal on a surface and activates the technique afterwards by performing the third seal again. The surface becomes a peephole, her Sharingan eyes appearing through them, this technique can be used to capture someone in the Sharingan Genjutsu. The size of the seal is directly dependent on how long the user places their palm on the surface.
Weakness: A lot of this techniques usefulness is born through deceit, if the enemy doesn’t fall for it and doesn’t look at the seal it will not work.
Name of Technique: Kage Te Jutsu (Shadow Hand) Type of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu, Shurikenjutsu Rank: C Range:Mid Nature Type: Yin Handseals: Two Description: This technique is more of a bluff than anything else. The user places a seal on a shuriken and their palm. After throwing the shuriken the user will perform the two handseals and the Shuriken will be transported back to the user’s palm. They can be returned to her hands at any point of the throw.
Weakness: No real offensive value other than to draw someone out.
Name of Technique: Magen: Yugen (ユゲン Demonic Illusion: Human Beauty) Type of Jutsu: Barrier Fuinjutsu, Genjutsu Rank: B Range: 5-20 metre radius. Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: After placing three seals in a triangular formation around Hiyoko, she can create a barrier that hides the presence of anything within it that possesses Chakra. A person and their clothes, other seals, even a Jutsu shold it properly fit within the area. However, each of these seals take a fair amount of chakra to create.
Weakness: One would have to remain stationary as noise can still permeate throughout the barrier and as soon as another person enters the barrier they can see all that would be hidden within it.
Name of Technique: Sharingan: Boketto (ボケット Sharingan: Gaze Vacantly Into Space) Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Hiyoko gazes deeply into another's eyes and pushes their innermost thoughts up. Bringing back past tragedies, desires, and fully unleashing the ID. This can make someone fight, love, cry, even kill themselves and should be considered a great threat. This Jutsu may only work, however, if Hiyoko has enough information to directly pull these thoughts up. Thusly, she may only use this technique on someone whom she has gathered sufficient intel on.
Name of Technique: Sharingan: Kintsukuroi [Sharingan: Gold, Where Once Was Clay] Type of Jutsu: Genfuuinjutsu Rank: B Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Firstly, this Jutsu must be prepared for and cannot be done in a spur of the moment fashion. Utilizing Genjutsu: Coercion, and Chigoku Inkan: Kami no Sakura she seals a Genjutsu that would completely remove the pain response of the mind. She seals this Jutsu on both of her forearms. By running chakra through either forearm seal she can activate the Jutsu and effectively cast her own Genjutsu on herself. With the pain response gone, she will be able to move faster, strike harder, and do more, faster. If, at the damage of her own body. These seals are only here in case she must make her escape, and quickly.
Weakness: If both seals are exhausted a new one must be made. This is not safely done in combat.
Name of Technique: Hai no Iki (灰の息, Breath of Ash) Type of Jutsu: Gen-Ninjutsu Rank: B Range: 20 Metres of Ash spread by the Jutsu Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Exhaling a massive amount of ash that is entirely with chakra, Hiyoko spreads it around the area. If breathed in, the ash immediately attacks the nervous system. Causing the entire body to go into shock. It is essentially a type of poison, except that it causes the nerves to fire off false signals. Pain, adrenaline, fear, even tears will begin to stream down their cheeks. Making combat very difficult and following someone, even harder.
Weakness: Breathing in ash under any circumstance would be ill-advised. Of course. Free advice: don't.
OKAY.
I think I'm done.
I almost certainly forgot something though.
I'm so sorry in advance. But I've checked and I think I got it all.
Everything is fine on my end - post them in the character tab and I'll pop them in the roster!
Hey folks, I've been snooping around the last few days after the Interest Check hooked me in and I just want to say that this looks like a lot of fun. I've been tossing around a few ideas for a character, but I was hoping that someone would be kind enough to answer a few questions before I really sit down and work it out.
1) I didn't see any real mention in the OOC on how exactly the Prae conquered Ominar. Was it through a overwhelming show of force that ended relatively peacefully or was it more of a drawn out and bloody conflict?
2) Are there such a things as military families in Prae culture? And if there are, would it be unreasonable to think that such a family would have a practice in place wherein each heir receives the previous generation's power?
3) Has an Exeo ever been stripped of the power imparted to them by the God-Queen? And if so, would such an event impair their ability to use magic?
4) I recall seeing some mention of Prae Law somewhere in the lore, but I don't know if I saw it expanded upon. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to find that or even briefly explain it to me?
Phew, that's all for now. Thanks for reading through this mess and I truly do appreciate any help you folks can give me with this.
I look forward to working with all of you!
Hey there! Glad to see that you're interested - I'll be happy to answer what I can, but some things are probably better explained by Yosh or Celaira:
1) The Prae took over Ominar peacefully, there was no combat involved - I'm not sure exactly on the specifics of this but the intro states non-violently so it is likely that it was simply a matter of moving in, declaring the area under Prae rule, and having that be that - for anything more specific you'd have to ask the GMs.
2) There are almost certainly examples of historically military families, and even if no such examples exist currently you would be free to make one provided that all other rules regarding the Prae were observed - the same applies to the transfer of power. It would likely just be a familial tradition to bond to the most powerful warrior upon death using their existing mechanics.
3) This is one for the GMs, I'm afraid!
4) I don't believe the specifics of Prae law have been expanded on beyond the fact that Priscus is essentially a no-go for Licentia and a kinda no-go for humans. While in Medius, the law will be functionally identical to human law with exceptions being stated IC - afraid I can't give you much more than that, though!
If there's anything else at all, feel free to join us on the Discord server. :)
That's just another nation that we won't really be interacting with in the beginning. They may come into things later, but for now they're unimportant. :)

【Birth Country】 Land of Iron 【Current Village[】 Kirigakure, Wanderer 【Organization】 Masazane Clan
【Shinobi Rank】 Jounin
【Personality】
It is said that all of the members of the Masazane clan are formed from the same mould, forged from the same steel, and it is only in their tempering that they truly differ. Some are strong, some sleek and lithe, and unlike their crafts, very rarely are they perfectly balanced. Kasumi is one such rare individual, possessed of both enormous power and discipline and honed towards the steely point of perfection.
To Kasumi, the only goal that matters is the pursuit of the perfect work, but she understands that such perfection exists only in brief, ephemeral moments. The masterwork of a single instance represents but a single moment of unparalleled skill, the best one can achieve in one's current state - but like fine steel, the Masazane constantly improve upon themselves and what qualifies as a masterwork changes as they themselves are tempered to yet finer points. There is a fire in her soul that stokes her metaphorical forge, pressing her onward to create greater and greater-still works and improve herself beyond what she could have ever thought possible - but this fire is not all-consuming. It is reasonable, like Kasumi herself, and though the great work is all that Kasumi values on a personal level, she understands very much that the world does not revolve around her pursuit of artistic and martial perfection.
Kasumi is extremely pragmatic, preferring to take her responsibilities head-on and deal with them in as efficient a manner as possible. She is far removed from the lofty philosophical debates of abstract thinkers, paying heed only to the reality of the situation and the events and steps required to deal with it in as efficient and logical a manner as humanly possible. Despite her pursuit of artistic perfection, Kasumi understands the nature of fault - just as she has created flawed work, she understands that blemishes allow for growth - and while they must ultimately be removed in order to make way for the betterment of the self and of the great work they hold value for as long as they can impart lessons and allow for improvement. This has led to Kasumi being an exceptionally patient and forgiving individual, who accepts nothing less than the pursuit of perfection but is willing to help anybody work towards it for as long as their pursuit is that of internal and external mastery.
Owing to the heavily male-dominated political culture of her clan, Kasumi is very far removed from the squabbles of succession and political grandstanding that many governmental entities seek to ensconce themselves within - Kasumi prefers the path of action, and cares little for political consequence in the wake of those actions. This has earned her much scorn within and outside of her clan, with some believing that she has some ulterior political agenda to fulfil by disrupting their own plans, and others recognising her for the artist in pursuit of perfection that she really is. Kasumi is often quite oblivious to the political undertones of the world, seeing little value in them and wishing only to distance herself from their machinations (but often inadvertently embroiling herself within them more as she attempts to avoid them).
Kasumi is not what one could typically consider a "nice" person - though she has the intentions of nurturing ambition and helping others achieve their inner greatness, other people are not much like Kasumi - allowing their own foibles and lack of discipline render them unworkable. This is a great sin to Kasumi's way of thinking, and often results in her callously discarding those that she has deemed beyond salvaging. The kindest and wisest of people can be discarded in this fashion if Kasumi believes that their progression has ceased, and the most unthinkably evil can be prime students if they consistently show discipline towards whatever goals they have set for themselves. Kasumi does not discriminate based upon intention, only based upon one's commitment to the great work and to the discipline they instil in themselves as a result of their passion for their great work, be that world peace or the total destruction of mankind.
Name of Weapon or Item: Kessaku: Enjin-Rutsubo [Masterwork: Flameheart Crucible] Location: Masazane, Kasumi Owner: Masazane, Kasumi Rank: S
Description: Kasumi’s first masterwork, the Enjin-Rutsubo is a daibo whose ends are powerful crucibles capable of melting any physical object placed within them. The Enjin-Rutsubo was forged from fire made physical and imbued with the properties of metal, rendering it completely immune to conventional metal-destroying methods and causing it to burn non-Masazane clan members that attempt to wield it, who will find the solid metal as nothing but fire.
Objects can be placed within the crucibles, which will melt the object down into liquid form. There are very few objects that the crucibles cannot melt, and objects that it cannot melt are typically structurally damaged beyond repair. The crucibles are able to superheat earth in order to create lava, though the lava hardens extremely quickly due to the intense but brief heat.
Each crucible contains an immortal, undying flame that is bound to the crucible with seals crafted into the Enjin-Rutsubo – these flames cannot be unleashed from the crucibles by any means, but heat can be expelled from the crucibles if they come into contact with a solid surface. Each crucible also contains an immense amount of pressure, which can be converted to physical force upon contact with physical objects – the amount of force and heat generated by the crucible coming into contact with an object are sufficient enough to severely damage the structural integrity of large buildings with no assistance.
Most metal that comes into contact with the crucibles can be instantly and irrevocably melted and drawn into the depths of the crucible through special seals. Kasumi is able to call upon an enormous amount of molten metal at will and mould it to her will provided that it remains connected to the Enjin-Rutsubo.
Appearance:
Name of Weapon or Item: Kessaku: Uchihonō [Masterwork: The Blaze Within] Location: Masazane, Kasumi Owner: Masazane, Kasumi Rank: S
Description: Uchihonō is the second of Kasumi’s masterworks, a spiritual blade forged from Kasumi’s inner fire and proof of her worthiness to inherit the Forge of Souls. Uchihonō is comprised of two aspects, its physical sheath and the spiritual blade. When separated, the sheath binds the spiritual blade to Kasumi, causing it to steadily accumulate in power as it draws from her spiritual energy. When the blade is placed within the sheath, the blade assumes a temporary form of both spiritual and physical fire, allowing it to strike and bypass both the physical and the spiritual provided that the blade has gathered enough energy while extant of the sheath.
The sheath of Uchihonō allows Kasumi to gather and contain Katon techniques that she has used that have either missed or whose effects linger on the field, and also allow her to gather Katon techniques used by her enemies, rendering their effects null. Any Katon techniques absorbed by the sheath provide the blade with heat.
The blade of Uchihonō steadily gathers heat, the equivalent of a Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu every ten seconds, and after sixty seconds of passively gathering heat will be able to combine with the sheath to produce a blade capable of performing three strikes before the blade loses all heat.
When combined, Uchihonō proper is unleashed. The blade exists both physically and spiritually, allowing it to affect and bypass all things physical and spiritual that do not exert greater energy than Uchihonō. In this state, the physical and spiritual flames within Uchihonō are at their peak, affording them power equivalent to the strongest of the S-Ranked Katon techniques for the instance of contact with the blade. While the blade is combined, Kasumi’s Katon techniques use spiritual fire rather than normal fire.
Appearance: A standard katana with a metallic sheath and a spiritual blade.

Description: Kasumi is naturally tethered to the spiritual blade of her masterwork Uchihonō. The spiritual blade remains stationary until such a point as Kasumi directly interacts with it through her tether, but this serves as a focus for several of her kenjutsu and Katon techniques. If the copy meets the sheath, the copy will dissipate until the blade is unsheathed and swung.
Whenever Kasumi uses a Katon jutsu, the spirit blade will use a spiritual copy of that jutsu at its location. Kasumi can control the direction of any launched jutsu in this fashion.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Tenchi [Heaven and Earth] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu Rank: A Range: 50 feet Nature Type: Katon; Kouton Handsigns: N/A
Description: Kasumi pulls the spiritual blade of Uchihonō to herself in a straight line, travelling at 25 feet per second. If the blade passes through an enemy, their spirit is marked with Uchihonō’s lingering essence until Kasumi strikes them with the blade, allowing Kasumi’s attacks with the completed blade to completely negate all chakra or spirit-based defences.
When the blade reaches Kasumi, she draws it for a single strike, independently of the blade’s heat generation.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Seishin no Hinansho [Spirit’s Refuge] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: Five feet Nature Type: Katon; Kouton Handsigns: N/A
Description: Kasumi surges a wreath of spiritual fire through the spiritual blade of Uchihonō, creating an impassable barrier for two seconds in a five foot radius. Creating the barrier consumes half of the blade’s heat, and cannot be used again until the blade has naturally fused with the sheath.
If used while Uchihonō has naturally recombined, the negative effects of this jutsu are not applied.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Tanren [Temper] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu Rank: S Range: Five foot radius of Kasumi and Uchihonō Nature Type: Katon; Kouton Handsigns: N/A
Description: Kasumi focuses the heat within Uchihonō, then unleashes it in an immense tempest of fire within five feet of herself and of each component of Uchihonō. If the tempest created by the blade and the sheath overlap, Kasumi immediately combines the blade and sheath as if the blade had reached its maximum heat.
Tanren can only be used once every five minutes.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Tsūretsuna Ichigeki [Crushing Blow] Type of Jutsu: Daibojutsu Rank: C Range: 6 feet Nature Type: Katon; Kouton Handsigns: N/A
Description: Kasumi focuses the power of Enjin-Rutsubo into a single strike, bringing one of the crucibles down at her target with immense force. The kinetic energy released by the blow is equivalent to that of chakra-enhanced strength, and can even shatter metal.
If Kasumi strikes the ground, the heat within the crucible is released, turning the ground in a six foot radius around the blow into lava. The lava persists for a few seconds before hardening.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Fukutsu no Hi [Unyielding Flame] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu/Daibojutsu Rank: A Range: Twelve feet Nature Type: Katon; Kouton Handsigns: N/A
Description: Kasumi temporarily extends the shaft of Enjin-Rutsubo, doubling its range, and brings the crucible down to a point with an overhead smash. Anything hit by the crucible will take a blow equivalent to double the force of chakra-enhanced strength and, if flammable, will burst into flames. If Fukutsu no Hi hits the ground, Kasumi channels the flame of the crucible to cause the ground to erupt upwards in a six foot radius circle in an enormous torrent of flame.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Hyōketsu: Ataishinai [Verdict: Unworthy] Type of Jutsu: Daibojutsu/Ninjutsu Rank: S Range: 60 feet Nature Type: Katon; Kouton Handsigns: N/A
Description: Kasumi channels an enormous amount of chakra into the immortal flames of Enjin-Rutsubo and strikes the ground. An immense shockwave (travelling at thirty feet per second) is released within a sixty foot line of the point of impact that, upon contact with an individual or object of sufficiently large mass, melts the ground into lava and immediately hardens it as it is shot upwards with the force of multiple uses of chakra-enhanced strength. Enemies hit by this technique are launched into the air at a 45 degree angle with enough force to send them flying for several miles. Additionally, targets hit by this technique burst into flames due to the sheer heat unleashed by the technique. Note: They are not wearing safety goggles at the time.
【Alias】 The Genjutsu Mistress; Leader of the Kyuuseishu
【Occupation】 Kyoko is the leader of the Kyuuseishu.
【Gender】 Female
【Age】 236, appears to be early thirties
【Sexuality】 Bisexual; Prefers Women
【Birth Country】 Kyoko was born outside of any village, in the Hyakune Clan Compound.
【Current Village】 N/A 【Affiliation】
Kyoko is the leader of the Kyuuseishu.
【Shinobi Rank】 Kage-level Ninja (S)
【Personality】 Kyoku is a difficult character to explain as her personality adapts to situations and individuals rather than remaining static. As an extremely talented manipulator whose talents lie almost exclusively in her ability to change the perceptions of her allies, friends, and enemies Kyoko is capable of acting the part for any role that she is called upon to play. She can be cold and unfeeling, or she can be warm and empathetic, she can be insightful and wise or naive and ignorant - all of these acts are tools, and she makes liberal use of them depending on how she wishes to be seen. A woman of many disguises is prone to losing track of the constants of her own personality, but Kyoko has certain traits that define who she is and what she does on such a fundamental and inherently necessary level that she will always retain some level of individuality.
Kyoko is a deeply loving person, and the majority of this love is focused upon her sister. Her self-imposed exile is all that keeps her sister intact, and though it pains her greatly to be away from the person she is closest to in this world she knows that it is a necessary evil and feels both the overwhelming sorrow of her loss and incredible ecstasy that her sister is alive and well for as long as Kyoko does not interact with her. Kyoko's love for her sister is indeed so strong that she has no room for love of another in her heart, and though she makes genuine friends she will never take a lover who could replace or intrude upon her sister's place in her heart. Another of Kyoko's inherent traits is her almost legendary intellect - she carries with her the spark of true genius that can never truly be repressed, even if she can fool most people, true genius is impossible to ever truly hide from another. With great intellect comes a great perception of things other people cannot understand, and being separated from her sister has left Kyoko with nobody to share these burdens with. Kyoko is occasionally driven towards a deep melancholy, but always sees the light and returns to normalcy with time.
Despite her great love for her sister, Kyoko is still a Hyakune and still has morals and values that are typically viewed as unsavoury by most. Her self-worth is a constant, but her value of others is largely determined by the power they wield and how they wield it - those with the most power and least inclination to use it earn her ire, as do those with little power and fewer aspirations - but her ire is likely something they will never see for as long as they can be useful, and the last thing they see when they have outlived their usefulness. Kyoko believes firmly in power and knowledge, and while she is very accepting of those who consign themselves to a life of mediocrity as circumstances dictate or simply for a lack of ability to succeed she is the opposite for those who can but do not.
Kyoko seeks knowledge at all cost, especially that which is forbidden, not only to save her sister but also to ensure that the power of eld is never lost and never abused. She will have multiple agendas at any given point, and she will betray and backstab all who get in her way, but she sees these things as small prices to pay for the greater good that she can bring to the world with the knowledge and power that she accrues. It is often said that those who do evil things do not believe that they are evil - Kyoko is no exception to this, and genuinely believes that she is the best person to wield forgotten powers in order to preserve them and protect the greater good. While Kyoko may not agree on the definition of "greater good" with many individuals, she is a fundamentally good person at heart who legitimately believes that the end justifies the means, and she is willing to pay the price that most are not to further herself and keep the world safe.
【History】
The Hyakune clan have, for ages, been the stewards not of a single style, but of many. In fact, their name, Hyakune [百根; One Hundred Roots], was made in homage of the core principle of the clan - Each member would be unique, each would take one of the many roots available to it and grow outwards, away from any of its brethren, but still connected at their very core. Before the clan were even introduced to the concept of Ninjutsu, or chakra at all, they trained themselves in as many arts as they knew how, each member of the clan becoming an authority on their chosen style. This left the clan in an odd state of simultaneous weakness and strength; while the clan members were too focused as individuals to cover their glaring weaknesses, when the clan moved as a cohesive group they were nigh unstoppable simply because they, together, knew so much more than any other clan when it came to the scope of technique. Such was the way of the clan, as its founder Sōgyō-sha had dictated.
Sōgyō-sha had believed - firmly - that weakness should be purged from his sons and daughters at as young an age as was possible, and in his wisdom (and cruelty) he developed a system for which the clan would be raised by, and a system for which the clan would be governed. By nurturing the child's journey from childhood to adulthood with the intention of purging them of weakness, and then foisting them directly into a position of power beyond the scope of their experience, he brought much heartbreak and suffering into the world, and not all of his children survived the rigorous training... But those who did emerged as stronger beings than their lesser brethren, leading the Hyakune clan to heights that others could only dare to reach out to. Children were raised as if in a collectivist society, in which they would all grow up together with no separate households, but largely without the traditional maternal and paternal influence that was expected of such a society. Instead, the mothers and the fathers of the children would train them in the various arts that they had found themselves attracted to, and children would practice everything they could until they found something they had an affinity for - or better - made a new style of their own. To make a new style of one's own was considered to be a sign of future greatness, and such children were lifted from the terrible conditions in which they lived before into greatness, to nurture their talents and to ensure that the Hyakune would always expand, and always grow.
The children, once they reached the age of eight, would quickly become devoid of typical maternal and paternal influences, and were also deprived of guaranteed resources. There was plenty of food in the clan compound's pantries, but the children were forbidden to simply walk in and take what they wanted. The children had to steal, without being caught, and would eat only what they could earn - those who learned to adapt to their harsh conditions were empowered, but some children died from starvation. Pity was not something bred into the members of the clan, after all. The children of the Hyakune believed in one core mantra throughout their childhood, one truth that empowered them: "The crime is not in taking whatever actions you must, but in being caught doing so.". After training for 14 hours a day, every day, for 6 years, the children that had not found their unique talents in the clan were resigned simply to follow what was established and had appealed to them most. They were not disrespected, per se, but they were rank and file. They were unimportant.
Those who forged a new path, who contributed to the growth of the clan, were thrust into positions of power that they had no experience in - they were made an elder of the clan. The clan's "legal" system, as it were, involved a circle of elders who had marked themselves as great individuals that made requests and then voted on their implementation, not unlike the jury at a court. The eldest male and eldest female were collectively the judge of the clan, and had ultimate power should such a need arise. Life on the Council of Elders was a tough one, as every action and non-action had consequences that the rest of the clan would have to face. The once-children who had been born for greatness had power beyond their stations forced onto them, and they either learned quickly or were killed by people who loathed their inability to take action (or their tendency to take the incorrect action.)
Children who survived all of this, who survived every trial put before them, would emerge as the pinnacle of the human world, they would emerge capable leaders with immense, and unique, fighting skills that would put them far above mere mortals, and they could do anything in the world that they so chose... Until the dawn of the Rikudo Sennin. The advent of Ninjutsu, and of Kekkei Genkai, changed the Hyakune clan immensely, for the secrets of their blood were unlocked, and its members found even more avenues to specialise into. With other ninjas rising, and clans coming to fruition, the Hyakune clan were forced to train even more than usual in order to keep up with the flood of Ninjutsu that echoed throughout the world. They belonged to no major village, but their services were offered freely to all as mercenaries, and it is said that each Kage of each village has called upon at least one member of the Hyakune clan in their time of need once. Whether or not such is true is a point of contention, but one thing was certain: The Hyakune clan were walking on thin ice, and in order to persevere, they would have to become the best at an art in which they had no particular advantage.
That was, until, the Hyakune clan realised the extent of their bloodline. Unlike most clans, the Hyakune's bloodline was not singular, it was not one static ability that each of its members possessed. Even their blood, it seemed, followed the clan's founder's vision. Their bloodline, the Tōsei no Eien [Eternal Control], manifested itself as an exceptional level of control over the user's chakra, which often manifested in the form of an aura around the user, an extension of their chakra systems outside of their body. Each member expressed it differently, due to their own personal DNA affecting the bloodline (as the Tōsei no Eien was not on a single chromosome - how the other chromosomes were formed had differing effects on the actual expression of the bloodline, but due to the relative positions of the genes (which remained constant) the bloodline kept its basis). Unfortunately, this meant that each member had to learn their bloodline alone, with no aid from members who expressed a similar bloodline, and the Hyakune's attention was divided as its members struggled to subjugate their new power, as well as practice in the arts of Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. The clan was already markedly proficient at Taijutsu and Kenjutsu, but in a world where Ninjutsu existed, such was not enough to succeed.
Time passed, and as the Rikudo Sennin died and his legacy was divided, the Hyakune took their training further, as a new generation had had time to be born with Jutsu and their Kekkei Genkai. This new generation was quick to subjugate the power that flowed through them, and the Hyakune clan was raised once more to among the top clans of the ninja world. They tentatively allied themselves with Konohagakure, building a new compound there for their older members, and became productive members of the village, providing it with protection in its times of need, and able workers who were much more efficient than the peons that they would have used otherwise. Their assistance came at a steep cost: The Hyakune would be above the law of the village, preferring to keep to their own council of elders, and these terms were agreed to. The newer members of the Hyakune clan remained at their old compound, around 15 miles from Konohagakure, training as they always had for the dawn of a war that nobody could see coming.
Hyakune, Kyoko began her life unlike many of the Hyakune. Most come into this world alone, brave it alone, and die alone with naught but scribbles in books and fleeting memories to acknowledge that they had ever existed in the first place - but Kyoko came into this world with another, with her twin sister Kagami, and the bond of birth was strong enough to overcome the crippling loneliness instilled in most members of the Hyakune to condition them towards a life of combat and treachery. Until the age of eight, many members of the Hyakune live a life good by many standards - they are loved and nurtured by their parents, fed well, and build strong relationships with one another.
At the age of eight, this changes, and the fledgling Hyakune are ripped from the world they know to undergo training to become a member of the Hyakune proper. Most siblings cease thinking of one another as intimately familial, instead considering them to be simply another clan member, but Kyoko and Kagami could not be separated despite the best efforts of their trainers. Such corner cases were rare in the Hyakune, and the Elders decreed that breaking the bond was significantly more difficult than strengthening it in service to the clan. Kyoko's talents lay within her fantastic mind, her ability to manipulate the knowledge she gleaned far beyond most of her lesser brethren (and even more so than some of the Elders, even at a young age) - but she could not work chakra in the same way that the other Hyakune could. Kagami's talents were precisely the opposite of Kyoko's, her talent for manipulating her aura and chakra as a whole was far beyond anything her cousins could have ever hoped to achieve.
Normally, Kyoko's lack of prowess in the field of Ninjutsu would have sentenced her to domesticity or death - but Kagami took her place in many of the tests that required a manipulation of chakra and she was spared the wrath of the Elders for a time. As she came into her own, Kyoko realised that her ability to manipulate people was more than it seemed, and she learned that the path of Genjutsu was her destiny. It did not take Kyoko long to apply her studies of chakra control to her natural aptitude for Genjutsu, and she unlocked the true power of her Kekkei Genkai - a trait that most Hyakune did not achieve until adulthood. It was not mere coincidence that Kagami also unlocked her true power that same day.
The Elders decreed that the two would undergo a dangerous mission to prove their loyalty to the clan, and that if they returned they would be allowed to join them not as fledglings, nor as rank and file Hyakune, but as Elders. Such a prospect was treated with much suspicion by Kyoko - she wondered what precisely could possess the Elders to offer such an illustrious position to two as young as they, and what the mission they were about to undertake would entail. Kagami was all for the mission, and Kyoko could only think that her sister saw the glory and not the trap offered by the Elders - but to refuse them was certain death, so they accepted and were sent to Kusagakure to meet with an emissary that wished to trade with the clan. Kagami and Kyoko travelled to the destination and came face to face with none other than the leader of the Immortal Scions, Jikangai, Kinjiro.
Kinjiro explained that the Hyakune had offered their best and brightest to her in exchange for thrice their weight in gold - for the burgeoning clan, this would give them a considerable head start - and that Kagami and Kyoko were to be the toll that the clan paid. She explained who she was, what she did, and gave them a history of her clan and even of the conception of chakra (questions that had always burned deep within Kyoko's mind), and offered them the chance to willingly join her as equals rather than as slaves. For the first time, Kyoko and Kagami were of differing opinions. Kagami was enraged by the elders' willingness to sell the twins, and demanded that they pay due reparations for their misdeeds, whereas Kyoko believed that Kinjiro could offer a far brighter future than the Hyakune could ever have offered either of them. Kyoko was quick to point out that the clan had tried to separate them, and had only ever allowed them to be together under terms befitting the capricious nature of the Elders - that with Kinjiro, they could be free of those shackles and live as equals with more power than the Hyakune Elders could ever have known.
Kagami agreed, but beneath it all her heart longed for the vengeance and justice denied to her. The pair accepted Kinjiro's offer, and were introduced to the world of the Immortal Scions. After receiving the Gift of Immortality, the pair were set to work using their unique chakra auras to research chakra on a level that their Jikangai colleagues had been unable to beforehand. It was later revealed that Kyoko's Kekkei Genkai afforded her a natural inclination towards the potent sealing techniques of the Jikangai, and she quickly became a favourite among the group. Kagami's talents were useful, but as she had no talent for fuuinjutsu she was not nearly as prized as her sister. Kagami quickly became jealous, and sought other secrets to keep level with her sister as she always had. Years and years passed, and though Kagami grew as powerful as Kyoko did under the tutelage of the Jikangai, she was not favoured nearly so much and largely spent her time with Kinjiro, who offered training that the other Immortal Scions could not offer.
Kyoko knew little of Kagami's activities in the light of the overwhelming amount of research she conducted, and though she tried to connect with her twin, she found that Kagami slipped further and further away each day. Rangether than bring these concerns to the now-distant Kagami, Kyoko asked Kinjiro if she had any explanations for Kagami's behaviour. Kinjiro was remarkably forthcoming, telling Kyoko of the progress that she had made and the bonds that she had been able to create that her sister could not - and her sister had increasingly sought new sources of power to keep up with her as the pair had always tried to be equals. Kyoko attempted to reconcile with Kagami, only to find her missing from her quarters and from the laboratory as a whole. Kinjiro had not sent Kagami away, and both became increasingly concerned with the disappearance of by all rights an extraordinarily powerful ninja.
It was discovered, after several weeks of searching, that Kagami had breached Kinjiro's inner sanctum and stolen from her an artifact of great power - something that had been locked away for good reason. Kyoko expected Kinjiro to be furious, to excommunicate Kagami and herself both, but to her surprise the serpentine woman offered sympathy and a chance for redemption. She would help Kyoko find Kagami and return her to the path of the Immortal Scions - after all, the two were extraordinarily powerful and had fit in remarkably well despite Kyoko's higher popularity taking most of the attention. Kinjiro desired that power to be under her command, and Kyoko desired to save her sister from whatever force was consuming her.
For many years Kyoko searched, using her ability to manipulate and deceive people in order to extract information as to the whereabouts of her sister before every lead was exhausted and she turned to the last people that could possibly have known where Kagami had found herself: The Hyakune Elders. Kyoko's return was met with much mistrust, and she was granted an audience only after incapacitating every able member of the Hyakune who could have stopped her. Each Elder was offered a chance to co-operate, and each refused, before Kyoko extracted all information from their minds and left them none the wiser that she had ever visited. The Elders knew nothing of her current whereabouts, but offered the information that several of the extant Hyakune scouts had failed to report back and had likely been murdered. It was unlikely that the locals had killed them as Hyakune scouts were notably difficult to find and more difficult to kill, so Kagami's intervention (as she was the only rogue Hyakune to Kyoko and the Elder's knowledge) was the most promising lead she had, all things considered.
Some weeks later, Kyoko found herself stalking the trail of her twin sister. The scouts had been murdered in a way that suggested Kagami's distinct glass-based style and it looked like the murders were conflicted - Kagami's style had always been brutal, yes, but it was efficient and quick. Her kills were swift and painless, not the tattered mess of blood and glass and bone that Kyoko had discovered. Had Kagami gone mad? Had she snapped at whatever it was in Kinjiro's lab that she had found? Questions upon questions raced within Kyoko's mind, and the trail had been haphazard, hard to follow - it was mostly subtle memories of stolen glances, a hooded figure in the periphery, and the details were hazy. Still, it was a track to follow, and it was better than nothing.
Kyoko found Kagami weeks later, about to murder another Hyakune scout in the area. Though it was easy to distract her enough for the scout to escape, Kagami soon turned her full attention to her sister - and what Kyoko discovered unsettled her greatly. There was no look of love, of guilt, of sorrow - her eyes were empty, vacant, as if the body was simply a shell stripped of what had made it Kagami, of what had made her sister. A fight ensued, and though Kyoko was gravely injured she managed to subdue Kagami with potent sealing techniques given to her by Kinjiro. After summoning Kinjiro to the location and being healed, Kinjiro offered an explanation after confirming for herself what had happened.
Kagami had stolen a scroll that sealed an extradimensional entity called the "Kyōmen no Oni", the Mirrors' Surface Demon and taken its power into herself, which had complimented her own glass-based style of combat remarkably well. The demon wrestled with Kagami, struggling to take control of her body, and though she had largely resisted and kept her individuality for the time being, it was only a matter of time before the demon won and Kagami was lost forever. The demon could not be resealed without killing Kagami, and though Kinjiro was willing to pay the price, Kyoko could not desert her sister. She worked with Kinjiro to seal the demon deep within Kagami, to allow her to live her own life, but she was the key to that seal - for Kagami to live, she would never be able to meet Kyoko again. With the scroll returned (and thus its power free of the plague of the demon it contained) Kinjiro offered refuge to either Kagami or Kyoko - Kyoko chose to leave, to keep her sister safe, and would operate on the surface world. Though she did not fully trust Kinjiro, she had been remarkably kind to her and the time they had together was something she cherished. Kyoko left Kagami in her hands, and though she was bound by no covenant she offered her services in exchange for knowledge and power - a deal that Kinjiro was all too happy to accept.
During the wars, Kyoko spearheaded the initiative to stop the rampaging bijuu and was the primary diplomat between the nations – her considerable expertise allowed many accords and treaties to be signed and enacted to empower the foreign dignitaries and remaining Fuuinjutsu experts to seal away the bijuu. Kyoko also worked as the leader of the intelligence efforts of the villages and of the Kyuuseishu itself, which proved invaluable in tracking down the various roaming bijuu and formulating battle strategies to ensure that as few people were lost as possible – though she could not save as many as she liked and this has weighed heavily upon her ever since.
After the bijuu were sealed, Kyoko remained as the head of the organisation, being the only one in whom all of the remaining Kage had trust in to not abuse the position that she was given. Opinions of her have risen and fallen since then, but none can dispute that her reach is long and her methods effective, and she is keeping a close eye on anything possibly going awry with the fragile peace that she has helped foster within the nations.
【Chakra Nature(s)】 Kyoko has no natural affinity for a chakra nature due to being completely unable to use Ninjutsu of any variety. As a true Genjutsu prodigy, she has a strong affinity for Yin chakra.
【Abilities and Special Traits】 Kyoko is among the most proficient genjutsu users alive, easily able to put her foes under genjutsu to control and manipulate their mind. She is able to use these genjutsu in combat to err her foes’ judgement proficiently.
Kyoko has savant-level intelligence, and her IQ is easily 180+. She is one of the most powerful minds of her generation, able to process complex tactics easily as well as discern the strengths and limits of techniques she sees due to her vast knowledge of techniques as a whole. Kyoko is perceptive to the extreme, able to see things lesser people would miss and make bridges of logic to discern reasoning where none seems to exist.
Kyoko is possibly the most skilled manipulator in the world, able to use her natural charm and wit, as well as her body to coerce almost anybody into trusting her, where she is then able to bend them to her desire.
Kyoko is, after her extended training with the Jikangai, quite proficient at Taijutsu. She is easily able to stand toe-to-toe with experts and could fend off masters, though she would have extreme difficulty in combatting raw strength and superior technique. She has learned the Wing-Chun style, and with her incredible mind mastered it within the 6 years she has been practicing. The training given to all Hyakune clan members has also refined Kyoko’s taijutsu skills and her general fitness.
Kyoko is able to create Jikangai Primer Seals in order to utilise their sealing techniques, but cannot create new Jikangai-based seals.
Kyoko is biologically immortal after taking Jikangai Kinjiro's Elixir of Immortality.
【Weapons, Tools and Equipment】
Name of Weapon or Item: Kuroi Kamen [The Black Veil] Location: On Kyoko’s head at all times. Owner: Kyoko Hyakune su Jikangai Rank: A
Description: The Kuroi Kamen is a black veil that is comprised of two bolts of cloth. Each of these bolts are sealed to allow no passage of chakra into them, but to allow chakra out, and are surprisingly difficult to cut through [they resist most swords easily]. In addition to this aspect of the veil, it is also a mask that covers Kyoko’s ears, mouth, nose and eyes. This mask is covered in seals that filter out any harmful substances that would enter Kyoko’s body, in addition to dampening any particularly loud sounds or sounds designed to have an adverse effect on the body.
Kyoko carries with her, at all times:
- 25 Kunai, each marked with a Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu seal
- 100 senbon, standard size, in a canister attached to a belt on her waist on her left side. These senbon are coated in a paralytic venom of Jikangai, Kinjiro’s creation (the venom has no known antidote, but one could be synthesised by a medical ninja of sufficient prowess). The venom lasts for 24 hours and only interferes with the somatic nervous system.
- A scroll containing a Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu that, when she places both of her hands upon it, immediately reverse summons her to her home. [Cannot be used in combat]
- A scroll containing a large volume of books with various sealing formulae and lists of techniques she has encountered in the past.
- A scroll containing several bottles of ink, several quills, and a stack of loose parchment imbued with chakra.
【Kekkei Genkai】
Tōsei no Eien; Tenchi Gensō
Name of the Kekkei Genkai: Tōsei no Eien; Tenchi Gensō [Eternal Control; Heaven and Earth Illusion] Type of Kekkei Genkai: Chakra Augmentation and Genjutsu/Fūinjutsu
Clan: Hyakune
Rank: A
Description: The Tōsei no Eien is a potent Kekkei Genkai that manifests differently in each of its bearers. Throughout the entire Hyakune clan, however, some effects are universal: All members of the Hyakune clan have gained an "aura" of chakra, usually spanning approximately 20 feet in radius. Their chakra system has been "extended" outside of their body, and the aura is of extremely weak chakra but the fact it exists is enough for the members of the clan. In addition to this aura, the user gains chakra control almost to the pinnacle of chakra control with training. This aura allows the user to exert their almost complete control over their chakra onto foreign [loose, not inside a body] chakra that enters it. It can be dampened to reduce its effectiveness, or it can be bolstered by the user's chakra to increase its effectiveness. The user's aura essentially makes the area in which it spans a "network" in which they may move their chakra, and thus entire jutsu, with ease, allowing them to start the jutsu at any part within the aura. Some techniques, such as genjutsu, can be forced upon victims if they are simply in range of the aura.
Tenchi Gensō
The Tenchi Gensō is a potent evolution of the Tōsei no Eien, one which holds sway over the realm of Illusion and Seals. Through the Tenchi Gensō, the user is easily able to lull people into genjutsu as long as they are within the chakra aura, and minor [B-Ranked or less] genjutsu can be forced onto an opponent simply by pointing at them. The true strengths of the technique lie in its subtle abilities to manipulate illusions, as well as blur the boundary in the mind that separates illusion from reality. Some genjutsu are simply too "fake" for the mind to accept as real. When this natural reservation, this natural barrier is breached, the victim of a genjutsu will believe it to be real regardless of initial apprehension. This does not make the illusions infallible, it merely removes initial apprehensions as to the genjutsu being false. Logic and reasoning can eventually overcome the breaching of the natural barrier, but this undoubtedly makes the genjutsu many more times more potent. This aspect of the Kekkei Genkai is: 地 [Chi; Earth], the mortal coil.
The second aspect is 天 [Ten; Heaven], the aspect transcending the mortal plane. With Ten, two things happen: Kyoko transcends the traditional plane in terms of genjutsu, and can no longer become subject to any genjutsu bar her own under any circumstances. Much as a two dimensional shape cannot interact with a three dimensional shape, the primitive genjutsu of the mortal coil are unable to interact with Kyoko. The second aspect of "Ten" is that she becomes able to influence genjutsu on the mortal plane, as well as her own, as long as they are within her aura. She is not able to hugely alter them, mind, she is only able to change subtle aspects and mould them to her will within their natural progression - she could, for example, choose between whichever torture methods she so chose within a genjutsu designed to torture, but could never alter a genjutsu that lulled the opponent to sleep to them burning alive.
Weakness: However, this aura comes at a steep cost: As the Kekkei Genkai manifests and the user gains their unique version, they are locked into that "version"'s jutsu style and become unable to utilise their chakra for anything outside of it. Kyoko's Tenchi Gensō has locked her in to the fields of Genjutsu and Fūinjutsu, and she is unable to use her chakra for any purpose outside of this bloodline, genjutsu or fūinjutsu.
~
Name of the Kekkei Genkai: Chigoku Inkan [Verbatim Sealing] Type of Kekkei Genkai: Fūinjutsu Clan: Jikangai Rank: B-S
Description: The Chigoku Inkan is the gift of Yata passed down to her children on the female side. Female Jikangai will pass the Chigoku Inkan onto their children regardless of the genetics of their partner, but if a male Jikangai were to procreate with a non-Jikangai female the resulting child is not guaranteed to possess the Chigoku Inkan, which would result in the child not being a Jikangai.
Simply put, the ability of the Chigoku Inkan is an innate mastery of Fūinjutsu that extends into manipulation of ninjutsu-like effects. Bearers of the Jikangai bloodline are able to create any effects that they can imagine provided they meet the following requirements: The effect must be understood completely with a single word, the effect must be within the scope of chakra the individual can muster, and the effect cannot defy any laws of nature of physics. The Chigoku Inkan can only apply these desired effects by creating seals in the air around the user or on nearby surfaces that are constructs of pure and fragile chakra, resulting in their effects being rendered null if the seals are physically disturbed or are subjected to any amount of chakra with larger energy or greater control than the seal created by the Chigoku Inkan possesses.
The seals created by the Chigoku Inkan are able to replicate simple elemental techniques without the creator having the elemental affinity necessary to create the chakra, but the seals also have no elemental applications beyond the incredibly minor. The seals are most adept at changes to form due to their Yin-aspected nature, and can be used to perform tasks such as picking locks, exerting physical force (breaking objects, cutting through objects, etc.). As the seals are structurally weak constructs of chakra, their effects on people are highly diminished or negated with even the slightest opposition of chakra unless the Jikangai in question has significantly higher chakra control than the intended target. The primary utilisation of the Chigoku Inkan is the inherent capability with and knowledge of seals and sealing techniques that it provides, but it is nevertheless a fantastic source of utility rather than power, and forms the basis for many Jikangai clan techniques.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
【Canon Jutsu】
Kyoko is proficient in all canon genjutsu not tied to a kekkei genkai.
【Custom Jutsu】
Name of Technique: Saimin Suimin [Hypnotic Sleep] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu; Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A potent delayed Genjutsu that will activate upon Kyoko willing it. Kyoko manifests a seal on her opponent that they cannot perceive by any means until it is brought to their attention (this can only be done through touch). At Kyoko’s command, the seal activates, and the Genjutsu begins to activate.
Targets affected by the Saimin Suimin are lulled towards a state of half-sleep, immediately separating their somatic nervous system from their control as they fall asleep over the course of thirty seconds. Unlike most Genjutsu, Saimin Suimin does not require any additional input from the user after its effects have taken hold, and the user is able to take other actions for its duration.
The Genjutsu is naturally removed after the target falls asleep, and the lingering effects of the seal prevent the target from being awoken for an hour after the genjutsu has taken hold, after which time the seal naturally dissipates. If the seal is removed prematurely, the target will wake up. Kyoko cannot attack sleeping targets with this seal.
Weakness: Something something dark side.
Name of Technique: Ome Itetsuku [Vision Freeze] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: D Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Ome Itetsuku causes the target’s vision to become locked into the instance it was viewing as the genjutsu was used. If the target was looking at Kyoko against a white background, for example, the target would only see that single image until the genjutsu was dispelled. Ome Itetsuku can be applied if the target is looking at Kyoko from any distance, including up to an additional twenty feet outside of the Tōsei no Eien due to its simplicity.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Shūhen Kagizaki [Peripheral Tear] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: D Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: The Shūhen Kagizaki creates a tear in the victim’s peripheral vision, meaning that they can never truly focus on the tear due to it being in the peripheral vision, but it will always be just out of sight. The tear manifests itself as an appearance of cracked glass, and is highly disorienting – even the most adept sensor nin will not be able to glean any information from their peripheral vision.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Tsu no Hikari de Ni [By the Light of the Sun] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: C Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Tsu no Hikari de Ni causes the opponent to no longer be able to see by the light of the sun. Any light provided by the sun will become absolute dark to the victim, and they will be forced to use artificial light to be able to see through the absolute darkness.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Zenkei Ome Itetsuku [Panoramic Vision Freeze] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: C Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Much like the normal Ome Itetsuku, however, the Zenkei Ome Itetsuku causes the entire landscape around a user to be frozen in place rather than the sole image they were concentrating on at the time.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Gensoku Jikan [Slowed Time] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: Z Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: The Gensoku Jikan is a peculiar genjutsu allowing Kyoko to control an opponent’s sense of time. She is quite proficient with this genjutsu, able to distort the victim’s sense of time so much that one second becomes fifteen minutes - their mind is overloaded with sensory information but the body cannot keep up, effectively slowing them to a crawl and leaving them virtually unable to act. This also causes every one second of genjutsu Kyoko, or any opponent, uses on the victim to be amplified in terms of time, making them more powerful. Kyoko and her target are both immobilised for the duration of the genjutsu unless an Eien no Inkan maintains the Gensoku Jikan. Kyoko cannot attack targets under the effect of Gensoku Jikan, except with Genjutsu and Fūinjutsu.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Shosai no Kogeru [Burning the Libraries] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: B Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: This genjutsu, simply enough, allows the user to erase memories so long as they know the memory they wish to erase. In addition, the user may create mental blocks that prevent the user from accessing specific memories.
Memories erased by Shosai no Kogeru cannot be recovered by any means, as the memories are completely forgotten and their chemical traces removed by natural means.
Weakness: The blocks can be overcome with great concentration [not pragmatic in a battle situation].
Name of Technique: Rei Yakedo [Spirit Burn] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Rei Yakedo causes the target to feel an exceptionally intense burning pain throughout their entire chakra system (and thus entire body) whenever they expend chakra, but does not otherwise affect the opponent. If the target comes within 20 feet of Kyoko, she can instead cause the genjutsu to create the sensation of pain continuously for up to one minute. All but the most hardened of ninja will pass out from the pain caused by Rei Yakedo if it is allowed to cause pain a number of times in rapid succession. Rei Yakedo lasts for up to one minute, excluding any time in which it is activated within 20 feet of Kyoko.
Weakness: The genjutsu can only be placed once every five minutes.
Name of Technique: Miruhito no Me [Eye of the Beholder] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko compresses her aura into that of a cloak surrounding her, reducing her range and dispelling any existing genjutsu that have been applied with her Tousei no Eien. For a small but constant expenditure of chakra, Kyoko continually projects a Genjutsu that acts as a perception filter – anyone who looks at her inherently knows that a person is there, but wishes to keep them in the periphery of their mind and ignore them. Due to the Ten aspect of her Tousei no Eien, any inconsistencies caused by her presence are smoothed over and she is essentially completely invisible for as long as she does not do anything to unduly draw attention towards herself.
If necessary, provided that she has an image in mind, Kyoko can also cause the Genjutsu to make her appear like someone else for the duration. This is very mentally taxing to use on multiple individuals simultaneously, and prevents Kyoko from using other techniques for the duration.
Name of Technique: Hakujitsumu [Waking Dream] Type of Jutsu: Genfuuinjutsu Rank: C Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko brands her target with a seal that vanishes upon application, lying dormant deep within them until it is activated (from anywhere) by Kyoko creating a primer seal treated with the target’s blood.
When Hakujitsumu is activated, Kyoko takes control of their body and her own body is disabled, and Kyoko is able to control them for as long as she does not enter combat. She is unable to force the target to harm themselves, to put themselves into harm’s way or to harm another. The target shows no signs of being controlled outwardly, but sensor nin can detect the activation of their chakra and the presence of the seal. Kyoko retains all information gained from using this technique through the seals linking the target and Kyoko together.
For the duration of Kyoko controlling the target, they are trapped in a genjutsu that gives them pleasant dreams, and when the technique ends they awaken with no recollection of what happened during the technique’s duration.
Weakness: The target is able to break free from the genjutsu and end the effect prematurely if control is taken at a moment where they are alert, removing the seal completely. Other people are able to remove the genjutsu effect from the target (and Kyoko cannot stop them as she cannot enter combat while using the technique).
Name of Technique: Ishiki Zansuru [Sensory Banish] Type of Jutsu: Genfuuinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko manifests a complex seal on her target while simultaneously placing them under a genjutsu that completely eliminates their sense of Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste, or Smell. The Fūinjutsu is not visible to the target for as long as the Genjutsu is intact, and the Genjutsu cannot be removed by the target while the Fūinjutsu remains intact.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Gōmon [Torture] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A versatile technique that places its target in an isolated room with a host of torture tools. Kyoko can use these tools in any way she likes, and pain cannot remove the genjutsu from the victim by any means. The only effective way to be released from the technique is externally, but those with an incredibly high pain tolerance are able to Kai out of the technique.
Weakness: Can be resisted if the victim is particularly strong-willed, but not while Saimin Suimin is active.
Name of Technique: Kyōzō [Mirror Image] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A genjutsu that allows Kyoko to completely evade any sensory perception available to its target by creating a clone of Kyoko that they can track. For as long as the clone is alive within the genjutsu it will last, and the genjutsu is undetectable to the individual in question. The genjutsu can be brought to their attention by an external party, but due to its subtlety it is difficult to detect except by the most potent of sensory ninja.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: In Somnis Veritas [In Dreams There Are Truth] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: In Somnis Veritas is a powerful interrogation Genjutsu, allowing Kyoko to directly access the target’s subconscious mind and memories with no interference from their waking mind. This prevents any resistance that is not completely automatic, and automatic resistances will be assaulted until they are broken. The only information that In Somnis Veritas cannot force a victim to reveal is information that they do not know. False information is effective against In Somnis Veritas.
Weakness: Requires the victim be asleep. The jutsu will end abruptly if the victim is forced out of sleep, and heavy mental resistances will delay the jutsu’s effectiveness - But if the target is asleep indefinitely or by unnatural means, this does not apply.
Name of Technique: Setsuri no Hametsu [Providence’s Bane] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: B Range: Touch; Eyesight; Tōsei no Eien Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko crafts a genjutsu of unparalleled intricacy based on her chosen target’s thought processes and general tendencies. As soon as the victim is affected by Setsuri no Hametsu, events will unfold precisely at the target predicts they would. The target will act according to their plans in the genjutsu - which is visible to Kyoko - but will not move in the physical world as events unfold. As soon as Setsuri no Hametsu ends (At Kyoko’s discretion), the target has no recollection of having been within the genjutsu unless Kyoko specifically wills it. Additionally, Kyoko is also able to force the target’s body to move according to the plan while the genjutsu is in place should she desire.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Zensekai Gensō [Total World Illusion] Type of Jutsu: Genjutsu Rank: S+ Range: Within the Tenkan no Inkan. Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: The Zensekai Gensō is Kyoko’s most powerful genjutsu, allowing her to completely and utterly take control of an opponent’s senses and mould everything they can possibly sense as she sees fit. The illusion is completely infallible, and no doujutsu or illusion removal technique can pierce it while the victim is within the boundaries of the Tenkan no Inkan. The range is, as aforementioned, within the four Tenkan no Inkan, which Kyoko must place around someone, or as a “trap” for them to walk into. Should the victim be released from the illusion, while they are in the four seals they are immediately returned exactly where the illusion was and will suffer no recollection of being out of it. Kyoko also controls time within this illusion, to such an extent that she may extend the illusion’s time for years. This jutsu is so finely created and maintained that Kyoko can control the entire world of each person within it, up to four people, with one for each of the Tenkan no Inkan. This genjutsu is so powerful that it fools all sapient beings regardless of “immunity” or extenuating circumstances. In addition, Kyoko is able to manipulate the memories and past experiences of people within the genjutsu, causing subtle lasting changes in the victim.
Weakness: Devastating chakra loss; bound to a very specific area.
Name of Technique: Eien no Inkan [Seal of Eternity] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A seal that can be imbued with immense amounts of chakra and applied as an addition to an existing seal or laid out in a circle in an area. Natural effects cannot expire while under the effect of the Eien no Inkan, as the seals will use their chakra to fuel whatever effect it is they are prolonging. Kyoko can use this seal in conjunction with a Genjutsu to prevent her opponents from releasing themselves from it, as the seal will reapply the Genjutsu should they be removed from it. Additionally, the victim of the Genjutsu will not remember having released themselves from it for as long as the Eien no Inkan persists.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Shiketsutai no Inkan [Seal of the Tourniquet] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko creates a seal that bars the passage of chakra through it under any circumstances, instead using the chakra to fuel the existence of the seal. The seal will prevent all sensory techniques reliant on chakra from sensing past them, prevent the passage of any ninjutsu or genjutsu through its bounds, and if applied to the body prevents chakra from reaching any parts cut off by it. This will cause necrosis and kill the body part off as if it were suffering from a complete lack of oxygenated blood.
The seal is a temporary construct unless inscribed in ink, and will dissipate after ten minutes unless it is placed on the body, where it will last until removed or there is no more chakra to sustain its existence.
Weakness: The seal will only last for ten minutes unless placed on the body, where it will last for up to 48 hours.
Name of Technique: Jiryoku no Fū [Seal of Attraction] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko has tattooed this seal onto her left palm. When she focuses her chakra into it, it glows with a faint blue colour and the next object Kyoko touches with her left hand will be attracted to the seal on her palm. It is also able to attract chakra, but not Kyoko’s chakra or chakra in another person’s body. She is able to leave an imprint of this seal on anything she touches with her left palm. The imprint will be attracted to the Sekiryoku no Fū.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Sekiryoku no Fū [Seal of Repulsion] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kyoko has tattooed this seal onto her right palm. When she focuses her chakra into it, it glows with a faint red colour and the next object Kyoko touches with her right hand will be repelled by the seal on her right hand. It is also able to repel chakra, but not Kyoko’s chakra or the chakra in another person’s body. She is able to leave an imprint of this seal on anything she touches with her right palm. The imprint will be attracted to the Jiryoku no Fū.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Idōsō no Fū [Never Move Seal] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: B Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A complex seal that must be drawn onto a solid surface before it can be used [Takes sixty seconds to write]. Upon touching a person, the seal activates after a delay of one second and the opponent’s muscles in their somatic nervous system forcibly contract, leaving them completely unable to move. Additional applications of the seal do not work.
Weakness: Long preparation, requires them physically touch the seal, has a delay, lasts for sixty seconds. Additional applications of the seal do not work for 24 hours.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu [Forced Contract Summoning Technique] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: C Range: Potentially Infinite Nature Type: N/A Handseals: Standard handsigns for Kuchiyose no Jutsu
Description: The Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu is a Fūinjutsu-based derivative of the original contracts designed to facilitate the summoning process. The seal is inherently incomplete until the addition of blood and a primer seal created by the Chigoku Inkan. The primer seal can be written and given to non-Jikangai members, but is consumed in the process. When the blood of an individual, or a primer seal created from trace chakra of an individual, meets the incomplete seal (and the user’s blood is added in the latter case) a temporary summoning contract is formed that lasts for a single summon. The user can summon the target to themselves, or themselves to the target.
The Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu has unique limitations determined by the primer seal, restricting the use of the technique if any damage would come to individuals affected by the technique as a result of their being displaced or if they would be displaced upon arrival, resulting in the technique being guaranteed to be safe.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Saiketsu Fū [Blood Drawing Seal] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: D Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: A simple seal that is connected to the user’s bloodstream. Activation of the seal allows for enough blood for a summoning to be performed without causing a break in the skin.
Weakness: N/A
【Full Name】 Jikangai, Kinjiro 【Alias】 Hebi no Hōyō [The Serpent’s Embrace]; Saisho no Renkinjutsu-shi [The First Alchemist] 【Occupation】 N/A 【Gender】 Female 【Age】 Unknown 【Sexuality】 Bisexual
【Personality】 Jikangai, Kinjiro is the product of hundreds of years of relative isolation and an upbringing laden with privilege. Kinjiro could easily be described as cruel, sadistic and merciless, but these descriptions are not accurate. It cannot be said that there is no truth to these descriptors, but the truth that they highlight is merely a fraction of the whole, an overly focused look at something very large. Kinjiro is cruel and sadistic in that she enjoys inflicting pain on others for the sake of research, and during operations she may often "forget" to apply the full measure of anaesthetic, but outside of her magnum opus she is not particularly violent or sadistic, preferring to keep her tongue civil (albeit sharp) and her fangs concealed. Kinjiro is merciless in that she will offer no mercy to those who obstruct her goals, but she is not entirely unkind and often will not choose to mete out unnecessary suffering for those who have not wronged her. Kinjiro is pleasant outside of her work, and while she could not exactly be described as being merciful, she is certainly not merciless. Kinjiro is opportunistic in the context of mercy - she will not be merciful for the sake of mercy, but she can easily feign mercy should it provide her with a larger benefit in the future. That is perhaps the connective tissue that binds Kinjiro's personality together: Kinjiro sees opportunities much more easily than most other people, and she possesses a high enough intellect that she might bide her time enough to extract as much opportunity as possible. She is not rash, nor does she consider herself to be too analytical (though she would argue that there is no such thing); Kinjiro sees the usefulness in people in a timespan that extends past what most would consider to be useful. In a way, Kinjiro is very patient.
Kinjiro suffers (she cannot see it as such, but it is definitely a malady) from hubris, having been raised to believe that she was entitled to anything she wanted. While she has mostly disregarded this with logic and experience, there are still hollow notes that ring in the symphony of her life, forming a haunting reverie that persists throughout all she does. One cannot truly escape the fetters of one's past when they are ingrained into you, like cutting out the heart and expecting to live even with its absence. Kinjiro rarely angers - but she has a temper - and will often turn to her cruelty when somebody triggers this temper. A gruesome fate awaits any who tread on her path without her consent, and even crossing paths by being in the wrong place at the wrong time can prove fatal when such crossings actively obstruct her goals. Kinjiro sees herself as privileged, above law, and this can often lead her into situations in which she finds herself temporarily at depths she did not expect, leading to moments of weakness and erred judgement. Perhaps hypocritically, Kinjiro detests others using status as a get out of jail free card, and she has a particular hatred for those in law who bend the rules to their advantage at the expense of others. She reserves her most cruel punishments for these types of people, and corrupt authority figures, or sadistic nobles, find themselves at the mercy a woman who has, quite literally, the fangs of a snake.
One of the things most likely to catch Kinjiro’s temper is people who have power, but refuse to use it based on some petty morals. Kinjiro despises the idea that people can be restricted by what she sees as, frankly, minor concerns - such as a desire to be pacifistic, or a desire not to kill a single person for the greater good. Kinjiro will often execute people who hold to flimsy morals for the sake of principle when there is something much greater at stake. Secrets kept are weapons wasted, and Kinjiro knows this too well, having kept a large amount of her secrets from the world. People who keep secrets for selfish reasons anger Kinjiro, but she does not keep her secrets for selfish reasons - she knows that with her knowledge readily available, the world would become a darker place due to selfish people exploiting others for the sake of their personal gain. Kinjiro will seek to stop this from happening at all costs.
Kinjiro, overall, has a very jovial personality - she may be sadistic in how she takes her pleasure, but she is generally pleasant to be around given that you are not on the receiving end of her punishments. She exudes a genuine warmth to those who know her and are familiar with her ways, but somehow still retains a cold air, an aura of sophistication and cruel elegance. Surprisingly, Kinjiro has an air of approachability about her, an odd charm, that despite the obvious danger she inherently poses affords her a natural charisma with most individuals. She is as close to a man-made deity as many of those who interact with her will ever lay eyes upon, and she wholly expects to be paid the same level of reverence one would offer while in supplication to a God, and is often not disappointed at the results.
【History】
The Jikangai clan's origins begin with the matriarch and eternal leader of the clan, Yata, who was born into a wealthy family in a time where chakra was yet to grace the land. Yata's early history is unknown to anyone but herself, but there are a few established facts that the Jikangai are privy to: Yata was among the first to receive the gift of chakra, and in her blood were the secrets to the first sealing techniques. Yata became the first to utilise the nature of the seal to manipulate chakra in ways that could not be achieved within the body, and her rise to power was as swift as it was lethal. Yata later discovered that her sealing techniques were potent enough to affect the flow of time within small areas, and developed this power over many years alone. At some point, Yata gave birth to her first child, Kinjiro, with an unknown father who was on a similar or greater level of power to her, and Kinjiro was born with all of Yata's power except that over time, though she was the first Jikangai known to possess the trait of being "outside time", likely a result of Yata's experimentation with temporal energies.
The earliest members of the Jikangai were not selectively bred or taught like many of the earliest coalitions of clans. Initially, to gain entry to the Jikangai one only needed to be a powerful male (in order to create children from Yata's side to pass her potent sealing power down) or to have an interest in the sealing techniques that Yata offered. Coalitions of like-minded people that were not required to possess specific traits were initially rare, so the earliest Jikangai groupings were not as powerful as many of the other fledgling clans, but as the requirements to join were so simple, many chose to partake of the power that Yata offered. War was common in the early days as people discovered the limitations of their newfound power, but the Jikangai chose to weave seals within their architecture that offered them highly fortified and defensive positions through which to avoid battle. The legendary safety of their strongholds resulted in those tired of war defecting to join the Jikangai, and after a few short decades the Jikangai had members of almost every discipline that presently existed and the means to research many more.
When Yata's first child, Kinjiro, turned thirty two she achieved the secrets of immortality and shared these with her mother, causing the pair to become biologically immortal for a time. This secret gave the matriarch of the Jikangai clan enough time to perfect the seals that would render her truly immortal and cement her eternal reign over the Jikangai. It was also around this time that Kinjiro disappeared from the annals of the Jikangai, taking with her several of the more medically minded individuals of the time with her, and the clan turned from essentially worshipping its most powerful members (those who had most of Yata's blood) to a more expansion-oriented people, using their collective knowledge and sealing prowess to become conquerors. The seal-infused architecture typical of the early Jikangai strongholds became as much a weapon of war as the rest of the techniques within the Jikangai's grasp and they reconstructed many settlements that they took over with their own to ensure that none that came after them could take the land should they be ousted, and other contingents of the Jikangai could take their place.
The love for complex sealing and structures quickly became the largest downfall of the Jikangai, and their promising expansion years were cut short after only a small number of generations due to infighting within the clan, and their own seal-infused architecture being sabotaged by rival members within the power-oriented clan. Many of the less powerful members died during raids from other sects within the Jikangai, or through the defences upon which they heavily relied being rendered defunct and invading parties having enough of a surprise advantage to turn the tide of battle in their favour. The most powerful of the Jikangai survived and chose to withdraw into the heavily fortified structures that they had relied upon in their infancy, abandoning hopes of conquest for mastery over their sealing techniques under Yata's directive.
Yata, the Immortal Matriarch, directed the clan's efforts towards creating a set of seals of unknown form and function shortly after their withdrawal from their expansive phase, and at some point within the next ten years all instances of the Jikangai on the surface world promptly vanished and retreated into a single underground compound. Much controversy was raised over the reason for the disappearance of any large body of Jikangai, but several missionaries remained in the world to quell these rumours and to recruit promising talents into the folds of the Jikangai. Though it would seem, from looking at the history books, that the Jikangai simply erased themselves from the world, nothing could be farther from the truth.
After withdrawing to their underground compound, the Jikangai returned to their original state of pseudo-ancestor worship. Yata once again became the ultimate public authority within the clan (where before she had largely ruled from the shadows) and once the seals she had ordered the clan create were finished, she ascended beyond the mortal scope of power. With her new seals, Yata's presence was dangerous to all non-Jikangai, and though there was no immediate aftermath, the clan grew worried that her unchecked power would draw attention to their hiding location and chose to construct a sphere in which to entrap their Immortal Matriarch and limit her power. Yata herself designed the seals for her gilded cage, recognising the threat that she posed, and willingly withdrew to lead the clan from within a place that she could do no harm. Unfortunately, Yata's prison limited the contact that she could have with her children, and she receded from the spotlight once more to allow the Jikangai to work towards goals she would entrust to the most powerful members of the clan.
It was at this point that the various sects of the Jikangai begun to develop, each with a focus on a particular aspect of sealing, and the clan begun to evolve into the complex society that it is today. In order to avoid stagnancy, the Jikangai offered the secrets of their seals to the world for knowledge and resources that they may have needed through use of their missionaries, who in return recruited brilliant individuals to join the clan. This process has continued since that era, and is still something that occurs semi-regularly within the Jikangai. It is not uncommon for the most powerful members of the Jikangai (those selected to receive Kinjiro's gift of immortality) to directly intervene with mortals of specific interest and prowess to offer them unique gifts in return for their service. Some would liken the Jikangai to would-be Gods, undying beings with a penchant for interfering within the lives of perceived lesser beings for their amusement, but the truth of the matter is far simpler than that: The Jikangai scions are mortal ambition taken to its furthest extreme, with the power to match, and delight in precisely the same game of control that all mortals do, only on a larger scale.
Jikangai, Kinjiro is the first born child of Yata, and is considered to essentially be a figure of legend among the Jikangai as the closest approximation of Yata's power within the clan. When Kinjiro was born the Jikangai were not nearly so powerful as they became as their existence was allowed to continue, and her earliest memories are those of working tirelessly alongside her mother to bring glory to the Jikangai in whatever ways were possible. As the child of Yata, Kinjiro was born with an immense amount of potential and was offered the finest tutelage and guidance that her mother could offer, but in doing so was instilled with a set of values that has not survived the test of time. Even from infancy Kinjiro's life was designed to cultivate within her an intimate knowledge of sealing techniques, sealing theory, and sealing applications, and she excelled at this.
Kinjiro's adolescence was a time of learning and discovery. Yata encouraged Kinjiro to follow whatever discipline she felt suited her the most, and though it came as a surprise initially, Kinjiro chose the pursuit of medical science. Of course, Kinjiro's primary talents and motivations were intimately linked to her mother's sealing arts, but she discovered ways to transmute the knowledge of seals into knowledge of the body, and immediately set to performing the macabre experiments that are so often associated with the archetypical "mad scientist". Kinjiro's nature led to the majority of her adolescence and young adulthood being mired in research, only really communicating with Yata and the other most powerful members of her clan, and while this could be considered to have stunted her social growth, it resulted in a set of extraordinary accomplishments for somebody so young.
Kinjiro's first accomplishment was gaining an advanced understanding of medicine that was hundreds of years beyond her time, with a lack of social prejudices and a natural aptitude for research contributing to her discoveries. Her second accomplishment, perhaps her most useful for the early Jikangai, was the secret to creating structures whose architecture included designed for seals that the structures themselves comprised the framework for. Though this initial discovery was not particularly advanced, it paved the way for many of her brethren to create the fantastical structures that the early Jikangai were known for. Within the space of six months, Kinjiro had created a laboratory for herself with seals ingrained into the structure that slowed the passage of time. Unfortunately, Kinjiro's position as the firstborn of Yata and the first true non-Yata Jikangai resulted in her being outside time, so she did not experience the temporal dilation that her structure was intended to provide. This resulted in Kinjiro aging at a pace that seemed to be too fast for her to make sufficient advancements to attain immortality in while her body was still able to withstand the process.
Kinjiro first petitioned Yata's assistance in this regard, asking her to craft a seal that would freeze her body in time while she continued to work on attaining immortality. Yata, who was also ageing, agreed on the condition that she would receive the results of Kinjiro's treatments first. Kinjiro's scientific mind approved of this idea, wanting to view it from a third person perspective before trying it herself, and begun to work on creating a structure to house Yata's new seal. Unfortunately, due to the potency of her blood, Kinjiro was not able to benefit fully from the effects of the powerful seal, and was only able to slow time down enough to grant her ten extra years within the space of one year. This was enough for her to create the most rudimentary version of her elixir of immortality, which she administered to Yata with no observable side effects. Another year of refinement gave Kinjiro the perfected formula that she guards to this day, and when her body had aged to forty two, she became effectively immortal.
Though her advancements were great, she felt that under the yoke of her mother's interests Kinjiro had outlived her usefulness with the elixir of immortality that she had provided. She chose to sequester herself away in her laboratory, transporting the structure deep within the ground away from the prying eyes of Yata and the other Jikangai in order to work on her research in peace. Kinjiro maintained close contact with her mother, but let her know that she was going to serve her own interests until such a time as that she considered her research into medical science complete. Yata agreed, but carved into Kinjiro's soul seals of binding to ensure that she could not shirk her duty to her clan.
For many years Kinjiro's research continued, resulting in her creation of the Iryō Ninjutsu. These techniques were introduced to the majority of the world through the infamous Jikangai missionaries and would quickly become a staple of any large civilisation. It was at this time that Kinjiro begun to realise the extent of the work that remained for her to complete on the subject of the human body and she formed the first scientific community, taking promising members of the Jikangai (and having the Jikangai missionaries direct any particularly competent individuals to her) and sharing with them the fruits of all of her research under the condition that they made it their life's work to continue the research and share its secrets with no-one until Kinjiro agreed. Though the initial number of participants was small, numbering at four, the community thrived with upwards of a hundred members after a decade of its inception and their work continued. In this period, Kinjiro made ground-breaking discoveries regarding the nature of the elements and created her "Philosopher's Stone" technique.
After creating this community, Kinjiro directed her attention to the matter of the seals imprinted upon her soul. As much as Kinjiro loved her mother and their clan, she refused to be bound by her mother's directive for the remainder of her preternaturally long life. Kinjiro began experimenting with ways to reach the Pure World, where the spirits of the dead resided, and due to her potent blood quickly unlocked the secrets of the seals necessary to beckon souls from the Pure World to this world. Combining these secrets with her technique for weaving seals into architecture, Kinjiro created the Jōdomon in order to ask the spirits beyond how to remove the seals from her soul. By contacting the earliest Jikangai that had not been sworn into Yata's service in a manner similar to hers, she gleaned the secrets from the dead and at great effort and expense removed Yata's hold over her. She had originally intended to destroy the Jōdomon to ensure that its secrets would never fall into the hands of another, but given that she had broken the hold of the only being able to control her and the secretive nature of her laboratory (and even more secretive nature of its inner sanctum) she decided that its worth was too great for her to destroy if only she would ever have access to it.
Kinjiro's life, at this point, longed for purpose. She had researched solidly for a great many years and was filled with the desire to experience the burning level of curiosity and passion that she once did when she was younger, but there was little else left for her to discover that her colleagues were not already working on. With no knowledge of her own left to research as obsessively as she liked to, Kinjiro turned her eye for improvement inwards and begun the process of upgrading her body. In order to remain both effective and relevant, Kinjiro knew that she would need weapons that went beyond her mastery of anatomy and sealing techniques, but her wealth of knowledge on the body was the strongest point she had to work with and would result in the highest level of competency. With this in mind, Kinjiro decided to take into herself the aspects of animals that had the most lethal and useful qualities, and settled on snakes for their extraordinary perceptive nature and exceptional lethality with their various concentrated venoms.
After her transformation, Kinjiro's passion for life was reignited. It is a common saying that every woman, at some point in her life, becomes her mother. For most this is a horrifying revelation, but for Kinjiro it was oddly liberating - there were many worse fates than becoming an ascended being, after all, and Kinjiro visited Yata once more to ask how she could further the clan's agenda with her own research having been completed enough. Yata noted that Kinjiro had removed the seals on her soul, to which Kinjiro confirmed, and applauded her ability to not only defy Yata's will, but also in remaining loyal to the clan and to her mother. Her request, this time, was more serious than any of her others, however - Yata required Kinjiro give birth to a child, to keep the concentrated power of her bloodline flowing through the ages. Kinjiro agreed, but under the condition that she could choose the father and whether or not he would be involved in raising her children. Yata agreed, but on the condition that she would play an active part in raising the children. Kinjiro had never expected nor wanted otherwise, so agreed to the terms and set out to procreate.
Unfortunately, Kinjiro's various bodily modifications rendered her unable to have children in her own body, but her advances in medical science were sufficient enough that she could create children through use of a surrogate. Kinjiro chose the father of her child to be Jikangai, Tensai, the first architect to take her initial ideas and develop them into something extraordinary. When the time came to welcome her child into the world, Kinjiro received an unexpected surprise - she had created two children rather than the expected one. She named her children Tsu and Ishiki, and handed them both over to Yata in order for them to gain the guidance necessary for them to become Jikangai proper.
After completing this last duty to her clan, Kinjiro decided to live a life of hedonism and luxury until such a point as she felt compelled to return to research. This lifestyle continued until Yata called Kinjiro back to action, sensing that the world would once again have been of her unique talents. Yata and Kinjiro both felt that the Jikangai should be the guiding force of the world, and she is the only individual with the freedom to act that both mother and daughter could truly trust. How Kinjiro’s re-emergence will affect the world cannot be said, but there is at least one guarantee: The world will change, for better or for worse.
After her emergence, the bijuu wars began - and Kinjiro's unique sealing abilities were key to implementing the techniques of the emissaries for the Moon clan. Recruited into the Kyuuseishu by Kyoko, with whom Kinjiro has quite the history, Kinjiro has brought knowledge of the Jikangai clan and their extremely potent sealing techniques into the forefront of the international stage alongside the emissaries from the Moon village.
Kinjiro has modified her body very extensively through her research, and is, in some regards, more snake than human. Kinjiro has the ability to transform select parts of her body into that of a snake, and some of these transformations are permanent. Kinjiro has the forked tongue of a snake (and its associated organs) with which she can sense. Kinjiro also has the fangs of a snake and venom glands, which can produce any of the poisons in her repertoire, as well as produce a highly concentrated acid capable of easily dissolving steel when chakra is concentrated into them. The acid is coated in a layer of chakra until it leaves her mouth, protecting her from its effects.
Kinjiro may metamorphose into the form of a snake at any time. She can take the form of a King Cobra, and is 18 feet long when she does so. Her transformation is taxing on her chakra, so she does not transform lightly. As a Cobra, Kinjiro possesses all of her human form’s abilities, but she does not have any seals on her body (except for the Snake-Keeping-Precepts) seals, which are beneath the scales and so cannot be seen. In her Snake form, Kinjiro is completely indistinguishable from an ordinary snake (except for the fact that she can become very large).
Kinjiro is exceptionally well-versed in the human anatomy thanks to her centuries of research, and is able to strike with lethal accuracy at almost any point on the body. In addition to this, thanks to her research and natural chakra control, she is exceptional at Iryō Ninjutsu. It should be noted that Kinjiro is the original creator of Iryō Ninjutsu, and she is hence one of the most proficient users of the art to have ever existed.
Kinjiro is a master of Taijutsu, preferring close combat to ranged combat due to her nature. She is also exceptionally proficient at Kenjutsu.
Kinjiro is one of the few true masters of Fūinjutsu.
Kinjiro’s chakra pool is only around 30% larger than average, but her control over her chakra is immense.
Kinjiro has the affinity for every element, but is unable to use elemental jutsu herself. This does not prevent Kinjiro from moulding the elemental chakra, but the only application she has for elemental chakra is within seals. In addition, Kinjiro’s Onmyōton is restricted solely to Fūinjutsu.
Kinjiro is immune to all poisons, all bacterial or viral infections, and all forms of disease due to a series of complex seals and bodily modifications.
【Weapons, Tools and Equipment】
Kinjiro’s Laboratory is a massive underground complex beneath the village of Kusagakure. The seal is essentially inside a vast underground box that is protected by three layers of seals. One can enter the laboratory through a very specific spot in Kusagakure, or one can use the Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu in order to transport themselves inside the laboratory. The Lab is easily as big as Konohagakure, and contains four main sectors - The Alchemical sector, the Surgical sector, the Living sector and the Fuel sector.
The Alchemical sector contains a vast surplus of alchemical reagents and chemistry equipment. The Alchemical sector is lit with seals that contain fire. The light is emitted much as a lightbulb would emit light, and the heat is transferred throughout the rooms as a form of central heating. There are fume cupboards which seal of the toxic fumes into small wooden boxes, which are occasionally deposited on the surface, or kept to use within the Totem of Venom. The floors have seals written on them that convert carbon dioxide in the air into carbon and oxygen, replenishing the air supply, and giving Kinjiro a large amount of coal for the Fuel sector. These two types of seals are found throughout the entire laboratory.
The Surgical sector contains the three operating theatres and the prisons where Kinjiro’s test subjects are kept. There is a kitchen in the Surgical sector where food can be prepared for the prisoners. The Surgical sector contains vast supplies of drugs and medical tools, as well as a catalogue of every poison and antidote Kinjiro has ever encountered - she also keeps a separate, hidden catalogue of her unique venoms and their antidotes.
The Living sector is, much as the name implies, where Kinjiro and her allies live. It is very luxurious, and has its own personal kitchen and waste disposal systems. The Living sector is often only home to between 10 to 20 people at a time, so it is the smallest of the sectors, but it is the most well-kept.
The Fuel sector contains the furnaces and generators for Kinjiro’s laboratory. There is a massive brewery in the Fuel sector which provides alcohol for Kinjiro’s experiments, as well as drinking alcohol for Kinjiro and her allies. The Fuel sector is the largest sector, taking up the spare space that the Living sector does not take up. The brewery in the Fuel sector is excitedly primed to create some of the most exquisite - and strong - alcohol in all of history, so that one of Kinjiro’s allies in particular may sate her habits.
The Lab does not grow its own crops or raise its own animals, so food must be brought down from the surface. Fortunately, Kusagakure is home to many fertile lands which provide Kinjiro’s lab with all of the sustenance it needs. The Lab produces its own water, however.
Name of Weapon or Item: Hebi o Tsūka Doku [Snakes-Passing-Venom] Location: Kinjiro’s body. Owner: Kinjiro Jikangai. Rank: A
Description: The Hebi o Tsūka Doku are an elaborate set of two wooden bokken which Kinjiro has modified for her own uses. The bokken have several seals drawn into them in order to augment their capabilities. The first seal, one of Kinjiro’s Kamikasu seals, prevents anybody except her from wielding the blades. Whenever anybody else attempts to pick the blades up, they will immediately turn to and attempt to use the second seal’s effect.
The second seal is essentially a stored version of the Ranshinshō. Upon coming into contact with an opponent (through skin or light clothing) the Bokken immediately use Ranshinshō upon the victim. However, each time a bokken uses this, the derangement of the controls is changed, so the technique is exceptionally difficult to counter, even by other skilled medical ninja.
The Bokken are also very heavily infused with Doton chakra, giving them a legendary hardness that is exceptionally difficult to cut with even the sharpest swords. The bokken are, however, still completely blunt and can only cause blunt trauma.
Appearance: Twin wooden bokken swords, each kodachi-sized (about 60cm long, including the hilt). The blade of each sword is covered with intricate ink patterns, each of which constitute a seal.
Name of Weapon or Item: Hebi Shūshuku Emono [Snake-Constricting-Prey] Location: Kinjiro’s body. Owner: Kinjiro Jikangai Rank: A
Description: The Hebi Shūshuku Emono is what looks to be a perfectly ordinary coil of rope, reaching to 45 feet in total length. Each fibre of the rope has had seals woven into it, each of which contributes to a major seal pervading the entirety of the rope. As Kinjiro wills it, the rope is able to leech chakra from whatever it is touching, as well as move according to her mental commands. The rope is extremely fast, and is impossible to cut with conventional methods due to the nature of the rope. The rope is fireproof and is hydrophobic (it repels water). The rope is a conduit for a much crueler technique, listed below.
Appearance: A rope.
Name of Weapon or Item: Doku [Venom] Location: Kinjiro’s body. Owner: Kinjiro Jikangai Rank: A
Description: Kinjiro, being a master of natural and synthetic poisons, understandably carries a great deal of poisons around with her. She has the quirk of making none of her poisons lethal alone [except those in the Chōzō no Doku, whose purpose is genocide] as she prefers to see her victims suffer before they succumb to her embrace. She has employed a few unique poisons that bring chaos and suffering to all who are unfortunate enough to ingest them - except Kinjiro and her allies.
Appearance: Varies.
Kinjiro carries apt supplies of all ninja tools that could ever possibly be needed in a scroll sealed into another scroll.
Kinjiro carries an entire operating room (sterile and with access to all of her surgical tools) in the first scroll.
Kinjiro carries immense vats of salt in the first scroll. [Segetibus Cavete]
【Kekkei Genkai】
Name of Technique: Hebi Shiin Mizu Gijutsu [Snake-Tasting-Water Technique] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: Extremely Long - 500 metres Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro, using her snakelike senses, maps out extremely accurately the positions of all living beings within an extremely long range of her. She is also able to taste residual chakra in this manner, and can determine whose chakra belongs to whom and what techniques have recently been used in the area. If she has never encountered the technique before, she will not know what it does, but will recognise it in the future should she detect a similar chakra signature. Kinjiro is also able to create a seal with the Chigoku Inkan that can grant her knowledge of techniques gained through this technique to other people by applying it to their foreheads.
Should any technique be used within a fifty foot range of a primer seal created by the Chigoku Inkan, Kinjiro will immediately gain full knowledge of that instance of the technique should she detect it with Hebi Shiin Mizu Gijutsu.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Suigin no Kaijō [Sea of Quicksilver] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu Rank: B Range: Personal, then Potentially Infinite Nature Type: Onmyōton | Doton | Katon; Suiton; Raiton
Description: A specialised version of the Kenja no Ishi in which the user is able to bypass certain restrictions due to a significantly higher chakra cost and preparation time. After kneading chakra into a metal or water for at least sixty seconds, the user excitedly primes the structure of body of water, keeping the chakra bound to the physical form with a seal. The user may release the technique instantly, or at any point in time from any range. As soon as the seal is released, all of the substance is transmuted to mercury.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Hebi mane Inago Gijutsu [Snake-Imitating-Locusts Technique] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: B Range: Vast Nature Type: Doton
Description: Kinjiro inscribes an immense seal onto an area, which then proceeds to produce vast amounts of toxic salts in the soil. Not only does the immense amount of salt kill all plants on the land, the salt will damage all infrastructure and reduce the water quality of the area (if a river or source of water is within the seal). The seal naturally degrades after producing enough salt to ensure no natural life can grow or thrive within the area.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Jiko Shōhi Maru - Go Yōso [Self-Consuming-Circle - 5 Elements] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: Katon; Suiton; Raiton; Doton; Fuuton
Description: By using the her affinity for each of the elements, Kinjiro may focus elemental chakra upon a seal on her midriff, which then glows with the colour of the corresponding element. Upon choosing an element, all elemental chakra of that nature will be absorbed, negating their harmful effects upon her. Kinjiro gains a corresponding amount of elemental chakra from performing this technique. However, the seal can only absorb one element at a time, and can only switch elements once every 120 seconds.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Kokoro ga Mai Tejun ni Hakai [Heart-Breaking-With-Every-Step] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch Nature Type: N/A
Description: A seal placed over the heart of the victim. The seal draws chakra from the victim with every instance of movement and accelerates the rate at which the heart circulates chakra throughout the chakra system. With every step, more chakra is added to the seal over the heart, and upon the victim taking the hundredth step while branded with this seal the chakra over their heart will violently explode inwards, destroying the victim’s heart and lungs, and killing them almost instantly. Each step taken reduces the available chakra pool of the victim by 1%. Kinjiro is able to create latent versions of this seal that can activate and deactivate upon being primed with a seal created by the Chigoku Inkan. If the primer seal is applied once, it can be activated or deactivated from any distance if the same primer seal is created again using the Chigoku Inkan.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Hebi Kamu Shin'nyū no Jutsu [Snake-Biting-Intruder Technique] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro has tattooed onto her body seals from pure chakra that are invisible to the naked eye except in the presence of chakra. These are simple containment seals manifested and maintained by the Chigoku Inkan that contain various weapons coated in various non-lethal poisons. Upon being struck with significant force or upon Kinjiro willing it, the seals will extrude whatever is contained within (though not completely release) them forcibly. The objects can be retracted with a simple application of chakra.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Kuchiyose: Hebi Hakidasu Kemuri Gijutsu [Summoning: Snake-Spewing-Smoke Technique] Type of Jutsu: Ninfūinjutsu; Kuchiyose no Jutsu Rank: A Range: Fairly Large Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro summons her Chōzō no Doku [Totem of Venom] at a nearby location. The Totem is a fairly large wooden structure, roughly 20 feet tall, and two carvings shaped like winged snakes protrude from the sides of the totem, reaching a total span of 15 feet. The wood is charred and looks worn well beyond its time, but despite its apparent visual weakness the totem is easily harder than any metal due to the amount of chakra woven into it over its centuries of existence. The bark of the wood is etched very finely with what look like ancient tribal patterns, but are in fact seals carved into the totem. The totem is fireproof and is extremely difficult to actually damage physically. The Totem is essentially a primitive “plague spreader”, and it will release noxious gases containing a mixture of extremely potent poisons and bacteria, spreading death and disease wherever it goes. There is a seal on the base of the totem that binds it to the ground, and unless the seal is removed it becomes incredibly difficult to move so much as an inch. At Kinjiro’s command, the snake protrusions become animated, and slither off of the totem in order to do her bidding. The snakes can relay simple visual and auditory information to Kinjiro, and can spread smaller amounts of the toxic smog that the totem spews from their mouths. Their bites are extremely painful and almost certainly lethal, but the snakes cannot leave an area of 2 kilometers around the Totem, or they will become inanimate. If the snakes are destroyed, they will reform on the totem, but will not be able to be animated again until Kinjiro places more seals upon them. Additionally, the snake’s bites can apply the Hebi nusumu Hikari Gijutsu.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Hebi nusumu Hikari Gijutsu [Snake-Stealing-Light Technique] Type of Jutsu: Ninfūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro moulds her chakra into a seal and applies it to a victim upon touching them. She is also able to apply the seal to an object, and have it bind to the first person that touches the object. As soon as the seal binds to a victim, it begins leeching tiny amounts of chakra from the victim and assimilating them into itself, gradually causing the seal to become a part of the victim. After three days, the seal cannot be removed by any means short of cutting the affected limb from the body. When the seal is fully matured, it converts the victim’s chakra into a potent toxin that is spread throughout the victim’s body, targeting the eyes and the chakra system specifically, slowly causing them to shut down. If this toxin is introduced into the body of a victim who is not branded with the seal, a seal will form and mature over the course of seven days. After another week of the toxin being present in the victim, the victim will become blind and unable to mould their chakra in any way. The poison, after performing these functions, continues to be created in the victim’s body, but it is excreted from the victim’s pores, and trace amounts are left on everything they touch. The poison has no known antidote.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Jiryoku no Fū [Seal of Attraction] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kinjiro has tattooed this seal onto her left palm. When she focuses her chakra into it, it glows with a faint blue colour and the next object Kinjiro touches with her left hand will be attracted to the seal on her palm. It is also able to attract chakra, but not Kinjiro’s chakra or chakra in another person’s body. She is able to leave an imprint of this seal on anything she touches with her left palm. The imprint will be attracted to the Sekiryoku no Fū. Kinjiro can also place these seals on other people or objects.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Sekiryoku no Fū [Seal of Repulsion] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: A Range: Touch Nature Type: N/A Handseals: N/A
Description: Kinjiro has tattooed this seal onto her right palm. When she focuses her chakra into it, it glows with a faint red colour and the next object Kinjiro touches with her right hand will be repelled by the seal on her right hand. It is also able to repel chakra, but not Kinjiro’s chakra or the chakra in another person’s body. She is able to leave an imprint of this seal on anything she touches with her right palm. The imprint will be attracted to the Jiryoku no Fū. Kinjiro can also place these seals on other people or objects.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Shōsenshin Jutsu [True Mystical Palm Technique] Type of Jutsu: Iryō Ninjutsu Rank: S Range: Medium [15-20 feet] Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro, the creator of the Shōsen Jutsu, only released a fragment of the jutsu’s true power unto the world, as medicine as advanced as the true technique would have shook the world too deeply. Kinjiro’s Shōsenshin Jutsu does not require actual physical contact with the recipient, and can be used from a considerable distance away provided that the user knows the feel of the victim’s chakra extremely well. The technique’s true power lies in its ability to not only create cells, but to provide them with an environment in which they naturally regenerate and keep in - allowing the Shōsenshin Jutsu to heal wounds that could not otherwise be healed. Additionally, the Shōsenshin Jutsu can read DNA and create cells from the DNA provided they are given a large enough amount of chakra, allowing Kinjiro to create the body parts of individuals at will so that the body will not reject them. A side effect of the Shōsenshin Jutsu is that it suppresses the victim’s immune system for its duration so that the body does not harm itself inadvertently. The immune system will not resume normal function until a second Shōsenshin Jutsu is applied. The Shōsenshin Jutsu is too difficult for any ordinary medical ninja to even hope of performing, and without the Fukutsu no Ishi active, Kinjiro cannot perform it alone. Two people can perform the technique if they both have sufficiently high chakra control.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Kenja no Ishi [Philosopher’s Stone] Type of Jutsu: Ninfūinjutsu [Kinjutsu] Rank: S Range: Within 3 feet of the user, can be increased to 10 feet with sufficient transmission of chakra. Nature Type: Onmyōton | Doton | Katon; Suiton; Raiton
Description: The Kenja no Ishi is the product of Kinjiro’s early alchemical work into the art of transmutation. By changing the structure of the protons and electrons of given molecules, Kinjiro is able to change any given element to another element. She cannot easily transmute compounds in this manner, requiring at least thirty seconds of focus in order to transmute even a basic compound, such as water, into metals.
When used with the Onmyōton, Kinjiro can immediately transmute any metal into any other metal within a 3 foot radius of her by touching the surface of the metal she wishes to transmute and branding it with a seal. The transmutation is permanent, even if the seal is removed, but one with knowledge of the seals could reverse the effects of the seal if it remains. The transmutation ripples out from the seal, and will increase or decrease the volume of the material as necessary as it adds or extracts protons from the nuclei of other elements.
When used with the Doton, base metals (Copper, Zinc, Nickel, Iron, etc.) can be transmuted into precious metals (Gold, Silver, etc.) or into other base metals. This transmutation takes at least four seconds to work, and requires contact with the metal to be transmuted constantly until the transmutation is finished.
When used with the Katon; Suiton; Raiton elements, the user is able to transmute all metals and basic compounds into other basic compounds or metals with a seal, taking at least 10 seconds to fully prime the seal. When the seal is excitedly primed with chakra, the transmutation occurs instantly.

Name of Technique: Hebi-Iji-Kyōkun Gijutsu [Snake-Keeping-Precepts Technique] Type of Jutsu: Iryō Ninjutsu | Fūinjutsu Rank: S Range: Personal Nature Type: Onmyōton [Yin-Yang Release]
Description: Kinjiro is able to mould her chakra to replicate life, converting her chakra directly to Yang chakra in order to breathe life into reality, and for as long as Kinjiro has a physical sample of something that is alive she can replicate it perfectly. For as long as even a single cell of exists, she can replicate the entirety of the organism it belonged to. This cannot be used to grant life to the dead, as she can only return flesh and not the soul, but she is easily able to reconstruct any number of lost organs or limbs, and can save anybody for as long as they are not yet dead. Kinjiro has concentrated the exact chakra required to create her entire body into seals and distributed them among herself, allowing her to completely heal any injury on her body as soon as it is made. These seals must be activated with a primer seal created by the Chigoku Inkan before they will trigger, but a primer seal is automatically created should Kinjiro receive a blow with the capacity to kill her.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Hebi Shūkai no Hābu Gijutsu [Snake-Gathering-Herbs Technique] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: S Range: Infinite Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro places a fragment of a soul bonded to hers, or a fragment of her own soul, within a seal and brands a victim with it. As soon as the seal is branded, it disappears completely from sight and can only be seen by those branded with a primer seal created by the Chigoku Inkan. The seal can still be removed, but it is exceptionally difficult. While the victim is branded with this seal, Kinjiro has a latent “perception” of whatever the victim perceives, allowing her to essentially use people as her eyes and ears. By sacrificing the portion of her soul bound to the seal, Kinjiro is able to summon herself to the location of the branded victim, or summon the victim to her.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Kamikasu [Divine Imposition] Type of Jutsu: Ninfūinjutsu Rank: S Range: Potentially Infinite Nature Type: Onmyōton [Yin-Yang Release] Handseals: N/A
Description: Considered to be Kinjiro’s most powerful technique, this technique utilises the infinite power contained within the idea. By moulding her Yin chakra into a unique seal, Kinjiro may impress an “idea” onto an object. The ideas that Kinjiro may impress upon something are very much open-ended, and she may choose to impress the idea that should X happen, the branded object will react by performing Y. Then, Kinjiro impresses her Yang chakra into the object, causing the object to forcibly perform the action, even against its owner’s will. Kinjiro has limitless application with this technique, and is essentially able to impose her will onto any inanimate object.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Shūki-Gai [Outside the Cycle] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: S Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro is able to disperse a ring of exceptionally potent seals up to ten feet in distance away from her, creating a circle with a radius of ten feet. Time is slowed within these seals, but any individuals that possess the Chigoku Inkan are completely immune to its effects. For every second that would occur outside of the ring, ten seconds pass within the ring (time is slowed to one tenth of its normal pace). The ring lasts for up to three seconds, and can only be used once per day. Kinjiro cannot attack any targets within the range of Shūki-Gai for its duration.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Hebi shi-ka Higai Gijutsu [Snake-Assimilating-Victim Technique] Type of Jutsu: Ninjutsu Rank: S Range: Within the Hebi Shūshuku Emono. Nature Type: N/A
Description: While a victim is bound with the Hebi Shūshuku Emono, Kinjiro and at least one assistant (two is preferable) may perform this technique. Kinjiro begins by resting her palms on either side of the victim’s head, on their temples, and channelling her chakra through the victim’s body in a manner similar (but not identical to) the Shōsenshin Jutsu. The assistant(s) place their palms over the heart and the lungs, and any additional assistants help with the control of the chakra. The result of the technique’s completion (which requires roughly 30 minutes) is that the victim is permanently transformed into a snake, with their DNA changed and their body completely transformed. During the transformation, a black liquid begins to leak from every orifice of the victim, containing their DNA and their memories, which can be drunk or assimilated through a seal in order to gain the memories of the victim.
The technique is excruciatingly painful, and the only reason the technique is able to take place is that the rope binds the victim. The technique is extremely useful as a torture technique, as the metamorphosis can be left unfinished and only the memories that Kinjiro wishes to extract can be forced to leave the body. Unfortunately, if the transformation is stopped prior to completion the victim will die as their body no longer functions without the assistance of Kinjiro and her assistants. This technique is very difficult to perform, and often requires Kinjiro use the Fukutsu no Ishi, even with assistants. It can only be performed once every week due to chakra restrictions not only on Kinjiro, but also on the Hebi Shūshuku Emono, which loses its power for a week until it can recharge.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Kindan no Shomen [Forbidden Writings] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: S Range: Personal Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro possesses the unique ability to write seals over one another due to her bloodline and incredible chakra control. By layering the seals with chakra and writing them in her own blood, she is able to keep the purity of the seal’s shape intact, and may write up to three seals over one another.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Technique: Jōdomon [Pure World Gate] Type of Jutsu: Ninfūinjutsu Rank: S+ Range: Stationary Nature Type: N/A
Description: Kinjiro has created an elaborate gate bound with several of Kinjiro’s more powerful Onmyōton seals. The gate forms a passage to the Jōdo [Pure World], where the souls of the deceased reside. Kinjiro is able to cross over into their world temporarily to converse with the souls, and she is also able to temporarily bring souls from their world into our world temporarily as long as they have a host to reside in. This technique was the basis for the Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei, but it is not even nearly as cruel to the souls or to the hosts (who regain normal function after the spirit leaves and are not harmed). Kinjiro avoids using the gate if possible due to the Pure World rejecting those who do not belong there, and will try not to go there if she can help it. The gate is usually not active due to chakra costs and the potential for abuse.
Weakness: Interpret it yourself.
Name of Jutsu: Fukutsu no Ishi [Indomitable Will] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: S Range: Personal Element Affinity (If Applicable): N/A
Description: A series of seals created with several years of intense research and the pinnacle of both Fūinjutsu and Iryō Ninjutsu. The seals are tattooed to the entire body, except the face, and leave a particular sigil: 支配 [Shihai; Dominate] on each of the eight gates. Then, tracing along each of the Tenketsu, the sigil: 縛る [Shibaru; Bind] is tattooed. The result of this, as well as the powerful seals that connect the sigils, is that the bearer gains complete dominance over their Chakra system when the seals are activated. The sigils passively control the user’s chakra system as defined by their will, heightening their control to an extremely fine level, but the true power of the technique lies when the user pours an exceptional amount of willpower into the activation of the seals. In this state, each sigil glows a very light blue, with the 支配 [Shihai; Dominate] seals glowing a much stronger blue. The user’s chakra levels increase twofold due to the gentle tapping of the gates, and their chakra control becomes so immensely fine that they are able to do several things:
Firstly, they are able to release their chakra as a “physical” form in the likeness of water, and control it completely and utterly. No chakra absorption techniques will affect this mass of chakra unless the user is damaged on one of the eight main sigils, causing it to malfunction. This “water” is able to be used for any technique that the user may use at any given range, allowing for intensely strategic combinations or uses of jutsu.
Secondly, the user’s chakra dominates all other chakra in its presence, unless the chakra’s owner has sufficient (extremely high) control to counteract the power of the Fukutsu no Ishi. The “water” passing over techniques comprised of loose chakra will absorb them and purify them, converting them into the user’s chakra. Each time this is used, one of the eight main sigils dims slightly, and after all eight are dimmed the active component of the seal is negated.
Thirdly, the user gains a “long-range” version of the Jūken, which allows them to strike chakra through motions of the body and the extension of their chakra and vast control. It may also be used to disrupt the flow of the enemy’s natural chakra system and even cut it with sufficient medical application - much like the Rasenshuriken - albeit much more controlled. Surgery may also be performed in this manner, using the target’s own chakra to form tools inside of their body.
However, bearing the extreme discipline necessary to fully activate this technique is mentally and spiritually exhausting. Spiritual energy must be expended to keep the technique active, and this prevents the user from having a particularly large chakra pool, cleaving existing chakra to Physical and Spiritual energy in order to sustain itself if necessary.
I'll also post my sheet just to give people an idea of what to expect - this is Kyoko, the leader of the Kyuuseishu.
Hyakune, Kyoko
【Full Name】 Hyakune su Jikangai, Kyoko
【Alias】 The Genjutsu Mistress; Leader of the Kyuuseishu
【Occupation】 Kyoko is the leader of the Kyuuseishu.
【Gender】 Female
【Age】 36
Kyoko's Tenchi Gensō has locked her in to the fields of Genjutsu and Fūinjutsu, and she is unable to use her chakra for any purpose outside of this bloodline, genjutsu or fuuinjutsu.
Weakness: N/A
Name of Technique: Kyōsei Keiyaku Kuchiyose no Jutsu [Forced Contract Summoning Technique] Type of Jutsu: Fūinjutsu Rank: C Range: Potentially Infinite Nature Type: N/A Handseals: Standard handsigns for Kuchiyose no Jutsu
