Syleste Astrea (Vos) Nioré

Location: Sky Lakes Medical Center.
Interacting With: Gage Brooks (@BlackPanther), Cassandra Arvanitis (@Caits), Miranda Burke (@Damo021), Sebastian Monroe (@December), and Xerxes Arvanitis (@YoshiSkittlez).

She was restless.

That much was clear to any who was watching over her as she lay in the hospital bed she had been assigned. It had been a long night for her… for the nurses… having woken up in pain more than a few times, only to then have more pain killers pumped into her system to drown it out. Her face scrunching up slightly, Syleste shifted agitatedly over the mattress of the hospital bed, a light sheen of sweat covering her body as she gently tossed back and forth, causing some stray strands of her long bubblegum pink hair to stick against the side of her face, her breath picking up just slightly as the memories of the night before began to flicker across the forefront of her mind, forcing her to relive the horror that she and her friends had all been put through.

The cackling of a roaring fire… the gentle ring of her friends laughter… the sweet but strong aroma of her cup of cotton candy vodka… the loving warmth of her boyfriend’s arms wrapped around her body… It was perfect- everything had been so perfect. The company of great friends, especially that of her best friends was something she had always loved; something that had always helped to make her feel special… helped to make her feel wanted, and not like she was different. The night had been going on so great, it was like nothing could ever go wrong; but then it did. The fearsome snarls… the terrified screams… the strong stench of copper…

..and then there was the pain. The excruciating pain that ripped through her body…

Her bright though cloudy blue eyes flinging open, Syleste attempted to sit herself up in the bed though was quickly shot down, a sharp pain ripping through her body causing her to fall back, her eyes shutting tightly as she pressed back into the pillows. It hurt so much… all over… more than she could ever explain. That was the only problem with painkillers… eventually, they all ended up wearing off, and the pain they had been holding at bay came flooding back just as quickly as it had gone.

Slowly lifting her arm up from where it had been resting, Syleste weakly reached across her body, her touch soft as her fingers lightly touched at the bandages that covered up her stitches, her fingers curling lightly over the top of it as she bit back a scream, her head turning off to the side as after what felt like a lifetime, she eventually opened her eyes, her chest heaving gently up and down with every breath as she did what she could to calm herself down enough that she could make sense of what was going on in the room around her. There were voices; familiar voices.

Cassandra… Sebastian… Miranda… Dr. Arvanitis… they were all there with her… And it was that very thought that had her body relaxing, even slightly, over the bed that she was lain on. They were okay… they were all okay. Oh, thank goodness… but then, where..?

“..Gage…”

Sombra Burke and James Burke

Location: Cedar Ash Inn.
Interacting With: Each Other.

It had been a little while since they had pulled over on the shoulder, and since Sombra had dropped the big news of her pregnancy in the middle of a heated, one way discussion of how much of a mistake it was to return to Klamath. Still smiling to himself while driving down the road, ever closing in on their destination, James found his right hand gently held in Sombra’s, softly running his thumb along her hand, James had failed to notice the police car following them back in the distance of his mirrors, his wife was such an amazing distraction… Or it was simply him missing the obvious once again, either way he could not stop thinking about the prospect of being a father, it filled his heart with so much joy and love.

“You okay my love?” He asked breaking the silence.

“..we’re being followed...” A bored expression written over her features, Sombra turned her head lightly off to the side, her dark eyes lingering upon the rear-view mirror where she could see the reflection of a cop car following them. It had been a while… the copper trailing after them ever since they had pulled back onto the road, and if her hunch was correct, then she was more than sure her mother had something to do with this.

At the mention of being followed, James frowned a little. There was no real reason for the cop car to be following them as he knew full well he had done nothing illegal or questionable that would warrant a law enforcement vehicle to be following them towards Klamath, unless they saw him pull over earlier. Not to make it to obvious, James glanced into his mirrors to see the vehicle in question that Sombra hinted was following them. “..shit...” was the only reaction he came out with initially.

“Guess there’s only one sure way to find out...” the wolf added as he decided to take a slight detour towards where they were headed, it was not massively out of their way and would not make it obvious that the cop car had been spotted by the pair. After rounding the corner, James kept driving steady, glancing over into his mirrors every now and again… And sure enough the cop car turned into the road, So much for hoping it was just simply driving down the road and not interested in them.

“You're right, I guess we are being followed…” He trailed of, he really couldn’t take his eyes of the road to much, but he did turn his head slightly from time to time to his lovely wife. Last thing they needed was too much attention while they were at Klamath falls.

Tearing her attention away from the mirror she had been using to keep an eye on the car in, Sombra dropped her head back against the rest, turning it so that her gaze was able to meet with that of her husband. It didn’t matter that they had been fighting a mere ten minutes ago… it didn’t matter that they were back in the one place the never wanted to be in again… they were in this together; and it seemed that they now had bigger issues to deal with together.

“..what do you want to bet that my mamá has something to do with this..?”

Frowning slightly, she once more turned her head, her eyes once more flicking to watch the police car as it continued to follow them where they went. Gods, it wasn’t as though they were stupid; they knew when they were being tailed… besides, it wasn’t as though the cop wasn’t making it obvious. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, she sighed softly, a curious look flickering across her features as curiosity burned in her mind, “..James… tell me… did you register the car in your name, or mine..? Or did you use a completely different name altogether..?”

Sombra was probably onto something there, that James did not think about at first until she mentioned it, her mother was the boss lady of the cop shop here in Klamath… how on earth could he of forgotten that? Considering the trouble they always used to get into; hell she probably blamed James for corrupting Sombra and running of with her, although they were both the perfect partners in crime.

“Knowing Myra, I bet the odds of that are pretty damn good...”

James couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at his wife’s question about what name he registered his truck under, it was a perfectly good question and one he knew would probably get him the dumb ass of the year award with his answer, of course the idiot put the truck in his name without actually thinking that mamá bear would do something to look for them, hell his own family probably tried the same thing without success. “..erm... I thought using a fake name would draw too much attention and get us caught out, so I kinda… used my name...” He replied a little sheepishly.

Closing her eyes as he answered her question, Sombra shook her head lightly from side to side, her long and wavy dark locks brushing lightly across her shoulders before she turned her attention back over to him. He had a point. Unless they had the correct documents and identification on them at the time; using fake names was definitely a gamble, one that at that point, they weren’t willing to take. Perhaps it had been for the best, it just meant that they had to deal with the consequences of it now.

“..it’s fine; besides, at the time, it was the best option we had… you made the right choice.” Turning her head back around, she let her full attention turn back onto him, a small smile playing over her lips as she reached out towards him, her hand coming to a gentle rest over his knee, “..we just have to deal with whatever comes our way because of it. When we get to Cedar Ash, I’ll hack into the station’s system, see what I can find out, and if she’s really looking for us. Maybe I can buy us some time by corrupting the data, or changing it up a bit… least this way we might be able to get out of town without too much worry once we’re done here.”

James couldn’t help but smile when he felt her hand on his knee, gently resting his hand on hers and giving it a gentle rub and looking at his wife with a smile for a moment before turning his attention once more to the road. Her reassurances making him feel more better. “Thank you baby, I’m just trying to do good for us both.” He was so happy and lucky to have someone like Sombra as his wife. Of course there was always going to be a consequence to certain or all actions they took, but what was important was that they did it together; he was always going to be by her side.

“Whatever comes our way, I will always be with you, by your side… no matter what.” Pausing for a moment to check the road signs to see how far away from the Cedar Ash Inn. “We’re not far from the Cedar Ash now, just… be careful doing that; especially with your mamá being involved… I know how amazing you are, but I still worry when you use your hacking talents. Just promise me to be careful, okay my sweet? She might be expecting it...” Taking Sombra’s hand in his, he gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

“I’ll be careful, promise.” Unable to help the gentle smile that played over her features, she leant over in her seat, her soft lips pressing against his cheek in a both loving and reassuring kiss before she sat upright once more, her gaze turning to look out the rear-view mirror as her attention was drawn again to the car following behind them, “Besides… I’m always careful, you know that. I do this for a living now, remember..? Nothing has been able to touch me since we were in middle school.”

James’s eyes closed for a brief moment when he felt Sombra’s lips touch his cheek, her lips feeling soft; so gentle to the touch, it was like another moment of heaven with her and it made him feel all the more confident in himself and their amazing marriage, a smile remaining on his features, it was the best decision he ever made in his life. “How could I forget that? You are always so good at computers; knowing them inside and out. I find it to be another one of your attractive qualities...” He teased. “Besides, I still remember you hacking my webcam.” he chuckled.

“Hey…” Her eyes widening slightly, Sombra turned her attention back around at him, a small though playful smirk dancing over her gentle features as she thought back on what he was saying, her body relaxing back in the seat at the mere memories of when she had first began to take hacking seriously- ah, middle school… it was such a good time… such a good time…

“How else was I supposed to learn..? Besides, practicing was much more entertaining when I was able to see you wandering around topless in your room…”

James chuckled some more at his wife’s response, it was amusing and entertaining to him remember with how they first started to interact and meet up, and all the fun that followed. They were the good days that was for sure, doing anything without having to worry about any consequence… And hell, he was not complaining one bit when it came to her webcam hacking activities; he checked her out at school, while she had the skills to see him in his own room. “That’s true, need to start somewhere… my room was a good as a starting place as any.” He teased. “And I was not always topless you know…” he couldn’t help but grin at how it all began, would he ever change it? Hell no.

After driving down a few other roads that headed towards the Cedar Ash, James pretty much ignored whether or not the cop car was still following them; he was with his wife, coming to see his sister, hoping she was okay and coping well with what no doubt he assumed was her being introduced to the supernatural world in a very violent manner. Still holding his wife’s hand, James pulled into the Cedar Ash and parked the truck, letting it tick over for a few moments before putting into park and switching the engine off. “Looks like we finally got here love...” He spoke up looking at the sign on the building, they were finally in Klamath... their original home. “You okay?” he sighed a little knowing it was not going to be easy being back here. Leaning over once more he gave her a gentle kiss. “ We can do this… together.”

Lifting her attention to the building they had pulled up in front of, Sombra hesitated. It had been five years since they had been in town, sure, but because of that fact, it had also been five years since they had seen all the people they had left behind… one of them being the woman they were about to meet with. Callie Lenson. The two of them had been close enough before they’d skipped town; one of the few people she felt as though she could go to aside from James and Alex. And like everyone else, she was one of the people she had cut off all contact with once they had left.

This was not going to be easy for them…

“..yeah… we can do this together…” Returning the kiss, she took a moment longer to enjoy the peace that came with just sitting in each other’s company before she began to move, opening up the passenger side door before she got out, her hand lifting up so that she could run her fingers back through her long dark locks as she glanced about her person, allowing her eyes to linger on the cop car for only a moment before she closed the door, her arms coming up to fold over her chest as she moved around the car, waiting for James to join her, “..you do realize the troubles start now, right..? We haven’t seen Callie in five years…”

James enjoyed the moment they had together in the truck, wishing it could just last forever… It was hard to know whether or not how many of these moments they were going to enjoy while they were here. Sorting out the last few bits, James finally opened the driver's side door, letting the fresh gentle breeze hit him, it was a hell of a difference between here and L.A. Adjusting his top, James finally closed the door before locking up the vehicle, keeping their belongings secure for the time being until he knew that they were able to stay at Callie’s inn.

Glancing over at the cop car that had since drove past them down the road, James turned to his wife and walked up beside her, looking at the building before them. Out of habit, James almost put both his hands in his pockets, but instead kept one free to take hold of his mate’s hand. “I do realize that yes… but any trouble to come our way… I am glad you are here by my side, we are stronger together.“ Taking another moment to think of what was about to happen, he only hoped Callie, a close friend of theirs wouldn’t reject them after all this time away.

“Five long years... I hope she’s been doing well for herself, and she’s the Callie we remember… Shall we?” Gently leading her towards the door, James opened it wide, a soft smile on his face as he motioned for her to lead the way, waiting until she had gone in before he followed after her, being sure to close the door behind them.
@Caits, @Jacobite, @BlackPanther, @YoshiSkittlez, @tsubasa; welp guys, this is it..! The roleplay has officially begun..! I know it has been quite some time since I opened it up, and there has been much discussion about it, but I wanted to give everyone plenty of time before I began due to the fact that life seemed to be coming down on us all. I thank you all for your patience, and I hope that you all enjoy this roleplay as much as I do..!

@Solo, @Sylph; hey guys..! There's still plenty of time for you both to make characters if you are still interested in joining. This roleplay is one that moves a little slower than others, but I promise, in the end it is worth it, and we all have a lot of fun. I am also more than happy to help out either of you if you are having trouble with characters; all you need to do is shoot me a message..! Also, @Solo, I am more than happy to have Studio Ghibli characters brought in.

Again, to you all, I'm so sorry that it took me so long to get this started... but, I really hope that you enjoy this roleplay. :'3

The familiar sound of her best friend’s voice filled the air of her room as she once again turned her attention back down to the books and folders that were splayed out over her desk- she was running behind on time, and had more than enough decisions to make, and paperwork to fill out and process through. Straightening herself up within her desk chair as she placed the pen down over the open page half-filled with her handwriting, one upbeat song turning into the next as she lifted her left leg up from the ground, slipping it underneath her body so that she could become slightly more comfortable as she once again settled down and back against the cushion, her head dropping back to rest lightly against the top of the padding of the seat as she let her eyes flick up to rest upon the personally signed CD cover that sat open next to the player.

’Eli; miss seeing your face- be sure to come visit me again soon. Love Sebastian <3’

God she missed him… Sebastian was her best friend; one of the only people who cared about her enough to sit on the phone at strange hours of the night, talking about random crap until one of them eventually fell asleep on the other… but then, that was what happened when you lived halfway round the world from the one person aside from family that you truly cared about... The very thought had her heart sinking slightly within her chest as her bright ice blue eyes slowly moved instead to stare sadly at the photo frame that stood tall beside the CD player and the study books that lined the top of the shelves above her desk- the beautiful beach themed frame itself holding a picture of the both of them messing about in the surf together along the beach by his family home back in Australia.

It had been almost a year since the both of them had last seen one another; the last time being when she had taken her two week vacation… the surf, the sand, the sun- it was a welcomed change from the refreshing chill of the snow capped mountains she usually spent her days carving her path into. That’s what she needed… she needed to head off on another vacation; get some time away- competition season was over, well and truly, she had more than enough money saved up to get her back down to the land of Aus for another couple of weeks… it would be a nice surprise for him, not to mention it would be a chance to relax and have some fun as well…

“..nawwe… what’s with the long face so early in the morning..?”

Pulling herself out of her daydream as the sound of her little sister’s voice filled the room from somewhere over by the door, Eliza turned her head against the rest, allowing her beautiful ice-blue eyes to meet with that of Anabella for a few moments of silence before finally, she chose to answer, “Ana… I’m busy right now… don’t you have work to do, or something along those lines..?”

“Wow; okay, someone’s grumpy this morning. What’s wrong; wake up on the wrong side of the bed..? Besides, I think you’re doing enough work for the both of us…” Hesitating in the doorway only the briefest of moments, Ana lifted her hand up, tiredly ruffling her long red locks of hair as she made her way further into the room before finally, she dropped down onto the end of her sister’s bed, “What’s going on with you lately anyway…”

“Huh..? Oh, nothing... nothing; I just…” Sighing out softly in defeat of the fact that she knew her sister wasn’t about to give up until she got answers, Eliza scrunched up her face ever so slightly as she sat forward, her arm reaching up until she had managed to take a hold of the photo frame she had been looking at moments beforehand; her body once again relaxing against the back of the chair as she held it in her lap, a small though still sad smile playing over her lips as she thought back to those days of fun in the sun, “..I just miss going to the beach and spending time with my friends, that’s all… I mean, it’s been almost a full year since I last saw Sebastian; and well, it’s not like I have any competitions coming up anytime soon… what’s stopping me from packing up after Snow-Fest, and going to visit with him for a while…”

“Wait… you’re going back to Australia..?” Quirking her eyebrows in obvious interest at the words that were falling from her sister’s lips, Ana took a moment to herself before finally, she tilted her head lightly to the side, a small though knowing smirk playing over her lips as she did her best to once again catch her sister’s gaze, “..ah-huh, and uh… this little visit of yours wouldn’t have anything to do with the massive crush you’ve had on him for the last God knows how many years now, would it..?”

“I-I-…” Unable to hide the light blush that seemed intent on creeping across her cheeks at just what it was that her sister had said, Eliza lifted her head up from where it had been rested against the back of the chair, her hand lifting up to awkwardly ruffle her long platinum blonde locks as she turned her attention and gaze anywhere but towards the girl trying to get a rise out of her this early in the morning, “That isn’t-… argh, never mind, there’s just no getting through to you, especially at this time… Speaking of which; you better hurry up and get moving or else you’re going to be late for your shift at the lodge.”

“Heheh; and that just answers my question… but fine, whatever you say; I wouldn’t want to be late for my shift, and especially not while dad isn’t here.” Lifting herself up from where she had been sitting upon the bed, Ana couldn’t help the soft and amused giggle that slipped out through her lips as she headed back to the door, pausing only for a moment in the doorway so that she could look back at the blonde, a playful glint flickering across the surface of her eyes before finally, she disappeared from sight altogether.

She loved her… more than anyone else in the world; but God, she could be so tiring at times. Closing her eyes for a moment in order to sort through her thoughts, Eliza once again let her attention drop back down to the photograph she held within her hands before finally, she sat forward once more, her arm reaching out so that she could place it back in its place before she fell back into the chair, a relaxed sigh falling out through her lips as the sound of the front door opening and closing behind her sister wafted up from down stairs.

“..I’ll call him later… but first, time to get back to work…”

Freya Whittmore

Location: Maleficent’s Castle - The Moors; Rivenspire.
Interacting With: Herself and the servants.

⚜⚜⚜

The gentle fragrance of desert flowers not long in bloom and hot sand wafted through the halls of the castle as her bare feet once more hit the stone one after the other, the sound of both porcelain and glass shattering against the wall filled every corner of the room, causing those around her to cower before the extremely sharp and jagged shards fell to the ground at her feet, creating what was clearly a rather dangerous hazard for all but herself.

Oh, how the morn had been one of such grand productivity… long ago had she dealt with the petty squabbles of the sea King; forcing him to once more return back to the depths of the ocean under threat of serving him as the main dish in what was to be a lavish feast...even still, she had even found time enough to pay her favorite, if not rather temperamental kitty a little, and long overdue visit; if not to test his patience, and wear it thin for amusements sake… though now she stood before her throne, her normally ever darkened eyes all but glowing golden in color as she glanced about in front of her, watching on with almost no joy in her expression as not only the servants, but also the knights that had been tending to her hurried to find exit; each moving as quickly as they possibly could to leave, praying for even the slimmest of chances that they would be lucky enough to escape with the angered wrath of their Queen…

She was in a mood. That much was clear; even she could see that she was being a complete and utter bitch to all those who had done nothing to gain her anger being taken out upon them. They had merely been doing their jobs; and as far as the truth went, it was a perfect case of being within the wrong place, at the wrong time… By the Gods; her hormones would not stop raging..! Waging a terrible war within, and causing for her ever increasingly dangerous, and more than common temper tantrums to piss even her off. The answer, however, was simple.

She had to tell him…

It was almost killing her to have kept it to herself in the way that she had for these past couple of weeks; and how in the name of Hades was she supposed to explain herself when-... She didn’t even want to think about that right now; she just couldn’t. There were far more pressing matters weighing upon her mind- the shadow man throwing a fit about the wild goose-chase she had sent him on all those years prior... Rasputin groveling and begging for her to release his soul when the deal they had struck, was yet to still be completely fulfilled… Rothbart and his both strange and creepy fascination with cursing people into creatures, no doubt in large part thanks to that stupid and disgusting animal fetish of his…

Either way; that was what had set her off in the first place…

It was just a comment made in passing- one of which had been directed towards the condition of her health, however, it was more than clear that it had not been taken very well within the eyes of the Queen… eyes of which were now burning brighter than they had ever done before, her long darkened locks fluttering lightly upon her back and over her shoulders as the magic which coursed through her veins began to build up, wrapping tight and almost visibly around her very figure as she lifted her arms slowly from where they had been held tensely at her sides, the very action causing the vast about of shards that she had not long ago created to lift up into the air, hovering in place as though patiently awaiting some sort of order to fall from between her lips.

“..you dare say such things about your Queen..!”

Throwing her arms forward and towards where the stragglers remained, stumbling over one another in their grand attempt at being able to leave the room in time, she caused the shards to sail through the air, soaring towards them, and causing her lips to turn up into what was both a malicious and rather venomous type smirk as their panicked shouts, and screams of terror filled the air surrounding her as those too slow in their actions got caught; a good majority either injured or killed by the sharp edges of glass and porcelain, while those in the group still able to move on their feet hurriedly worked to gather those that had been hit, eventually leaving her standing alone within the empty and blood-splattered room… alone and in peace…

Ah, the silence… my, how it was golden.

The sudden feeling of her stomach churning nauseously caused her to hunch over slightly, her soft features scrunching up in disgust as she dropped her left hand down, pressing it lightly against her stomach as her right hand reached back, clinging almost desperately to the arm of her throne for support, the large and extremely luxurious seat helping to keep her both upright and upon her feet- argh, she hated being sick… the nausea, the tiredness, the lack of interest in almost all that she needed to do… it showed weakness; and that was something she could not afford to show to anyone… especially not Jafar. The very thought of it caused her hand to grasp even tighter to the arm of the throne than she had been before; the ever familiar magic still pulsing throughout her body causing the wood to crack under her firm grip.

Straightening herself back up once she had managed to regain the composure she had lost due to the rather small bout of nausea she had received, she turned her attention once more back to her throne, dropping down into it and lounging lazily back into the cushions as she crossed her legs one over the other, her left hand working to smooth out the material of the sari she wore while she lifted her right hand, holding it out to the side, her expression now one of pure boredom and her eyes once again flashing over a beautiful golden shade as she caused one of the goblets of wine that had been spilled to fill itself, her left hand coming up to lightly ruffle at her long and wavy locks of dark hair as the now full goblet floated over to her, nestling comfortable into her hand.

How the morning had managed to take such a quick turn for the worse..? The day was meant to be one of joyous celebration… one she was intent on making so; though with the way things were in the moment, it seemed it might be a little harder than she had first thought. A gentle sigh falling out through her soft pink lips, she swirled the bright red liquid within the goblet around for but a few moments, her gaze lingering upon the contents, seemingly trying to sort through the thoughts that were so clearly plaguing her mind as she gave no sign that she was planning on moving from where it was that she sat lounged upon her throne.

Juliette Morrison

Location: Ghal-Priyam; Holloway Co.
Post In Collaboration With: None.
Interacting With: Luna Stevenson (@Caits), Constance (@Atrophy), Raymond Rahlei and Maxine Holloway (@Mercenary Lord).

“..R-Raymond…”

Her voice soft… shaky as she felt him pulling (albeit reluctantly) away from her, panic flashed across the surface of her beautiful, though cloudy eyes, her hand lifting to reach out towards him before the feeling of another taking a hold of her caught her attention. Wha-... What was going on..? She hadn’t touched anything in the room- she hadn’t done anything to catch the woman’s wrath, and yet here she was, separated from the ones she cared for and trusted, and left in the company of that last person she wanted to spend time with.

Biting her lower lip softly as she was led further into the room, Juliette continued to look behind her, back in the direction that she had last heard both Raymond and Collin’s voices coming from. Why couldn’t Raymond stay..? What had she done- what was so important that Maxine had seen fit to threaten him being physically removed from their presence..? She wasn’t sure she wanted to know; but then she also knew that right now, she didn’t have a choice. Maxine Holloway was a woman who always got what she wanted… not matter of the cost or consequence.

“Handsome men, all of them. Utterly unneeded for success, naturally, but one can always admire unnecessary things.”

What had she done..? She had to have done something that had gained the woman’s attention, though for the life of her she couldn’t remember what it had been. The last few days had been rather repetitive; she’d gotten up and left the house, attempted to help out some of the women by weaving baskets with them for the celebrations, returned to her family’s bar so that she could help out her parents… there was nothing that was too far out of the ordinary… at least, aside from her run in with the guys that morning, there was nothing out of the ordinary…

“Case in point, this company: luxury items sell most delightfully to those who cannot afford them. Ah, wae sorja, Yuliette-oum.”

Snapping her attention back to the present at the sound of her name being spoken aloud, Juliette allowed her unseeing gaze to turn in the direction it had come from, her body slowly lowering down into the chair that had been provided for her before silently, and very politely, she bowed her head lightly out of deep respect for the woman addressing her. Something didn’t feel right about this; but it wasn’t her place to speak out of term. Shifting nervously in the seat, she brought her hands together, resting them neatly in her lap as she listened, her ankles coming together and crossing over one another beneath her, her voice soft as she spoke, answering in kind to let the woman know that she was indeed listening to what she was saying, “..madam Holloway…”

“I’d called you here to offer good news to you. I’ve decided that you and Arn, my grandson, will be wed sometime in the next week or two. I expect to tell your parents shortly and see about beginn-...”

The rest of the woman’s words lost on her, Juliette fell into a daze, all color seeming to drain completely from her features as the weight of what had just been said fell upon her shoulders. Married… s-she wanted her to marry her grandson..? To marry Arn..? She felt dizzy, the gentle pounding in her head causing her to sway lightly in her seat as the thought continued to swirl around and around within her mind. No matter how much she thought on the matter, she couldn’t seem to understand it, and one question still rung true, though she daren’t not speak it aloud…

..why me..?

Shifting once more in her seat, though this time with unease, she dropped her head down, her fingers curling ever so slightly around the material of her skirt, causing it to ride up just a tad. She couldn’t get married- not to Arn. She barely knew the man… Having met in passing a couple of times, and politely shared conversation on more than one occasion; she knew he wasn’t a bad guy… he was nice enough… at least, nice enough for a Holloway raised under the ever watchful eye of Maxine. But… marriage..?

“..but-... but I do not love him…”

“..a-ah...”

The feeling of an arm wrapping around her middle caused her to lift her head, her soft pink lips parting ever so slightly from one another as she was pulled back, the warmth of Sebastian’s embrace ripped away from her and instead replaced by that of another. It wasn’t the first time she’d been pulled away from one of her friends, and she was more than sure that it wasn’t going to be the last. Especially when it came to Sebastian and Ignatius; she tended to get passed around quite a bit.

“Come on now, Isiesaura! Don’t be a party pooper!”

Her head turning as she felt her back pressing against the warmth of another, Isaura lifted her gaze up, her dark eyes meeting with that of Ignatius as she listened to him speak, the smile she knew she wanted to show never seeming to come to the light of day as she shook her head, causing her long dark locks to brush back and forth over her shoulders with the action. It wasn’t that she was being a party pooper... or if she was, it wasn’t as though she was going around doing it on purpose; she was just worried. She couldn’t count how many times they had trudged, both willingly and unwillingly through the forests and the town... the number was just too high, and she had lost track so long ago. But what she was sure of was that never before had she ever come across this house... and either way, she didn’t have a good feeling about it...

“..Iggie, stop... I’m not being a party pooper; I’m just trying to be reasonable... I-...” Pausing a moment, she glanced back over to the house, watching on as one by one her friends moved closer to it, some of them with the same idea as they began to try and get inside, “..I just don’t think this is a very good idea...”

Dropping her attention down to the ground in front of her, Isaura sighed softly. Maybe she was being a bit of a downer… but really, could they blame her for being cautious..? None of them were. All they wanted was to rush into things without thinking; and nine times out of ten she was dragged into it. Heh, but then again, that was the issue when you hard a hard time saying no to those you cared about. Her mind pulled away from her current train of thought, Isaura’s body was spun around on the spot, surprise flickering across her features as she lifted her attention up, her dark eyes meeting with that of Ignatius as she brought both her hands up, letting them come to a rest over his chest.

“It will be alright! We just won’t yank the door hard. Have I ever led you astray, dear Isaura?”

He had a point... between he and the others, she had rarely ever been let down or led astray. They had all been there for her at one point or another; lending her an ear, picking her up when she was down, making her feel like she had a place she truly belonged... Whenever she was with them, she felt brave... like she could do anything she wanted to; but even so...

“Well… no, but-...”

Her attention drawn away from him at the sound of a muffled ‘thud’, Isaura tore her gaze away from him, her dark eyes instead turning to look up at the building in time to see Sebastian’s familiar figure disappear through the broken window. And there it was again, clear proof that it was far too early in the morning for any of them to be doing anything other that sleeping because, obviously, no one but her thought this might have been a bad idea.

Shifting nervously in his arms, she kept her eyes trained on the door, watching... waiting... and once she saw it open to reveal her best friend standing unscathed behind it, she let out a breath she hadn’t realized she had even been holding. She couldn’t believe it, he was joking around... they all were. Shaking her head lightly from side to side, Isaura dropped her head, her eyes closing as she tried to shove the thoughts out of her mind. Okay, so yeah, she was being a downer... but it wasn’t as though she wanted to be, “I-... I am not going in there- it doesn’t look stable... I don’t trust it... and besides...”

Pausing, she lifted her head back up, her worried gaze meeting with Ignatius’ before she turned it back to the house in question, her fingers curling lightly over his chest as she seemed to press herself closer against him, “..something about this just doesn’t feel right...”
