Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@Rune_Alchemist: Accepted.
@Zoey Boey: This looks much more appropriate, though you can even punch up the more mystical effects of your Crimson Arm if you want. But even if you don't, accepted.
@Zoey Boey: I'll take another look shortly.

@Pink Khione: The weapons have numerous functions, some of them outright magical. If you want to manifest a demon-like presence from your sword or something like that, that's fine.
@Zoey Boey: Well, it's a bit of that but also a bit of metaphysical thing since they're in part magical. I think a good comparison would be like someone having a naturally good sense of smell. It's something you're typically born with but I won't rule out someone developing it.
@Zoey Boey: To some extent, given how important it is. If you have the aptitude for Crimson Arms, you're at the very least heavily recommended to enter combat duty, and you're pretty much guaranteed to end up in combat if you're on the level of the elite units in aptitude(like the Crimson Demons) simply because people like that are so valuable for fighting vampires.
@Zoey Boey: Crimson Arms are reverse-engineered from the vampire weaponry, so they're definitely not just normal guns. Not everyone has to be 16 I just want people to talk to me about their plans if they're not a fresh recruit.

Even if they are, remember this is the elite arm of the Japanese branch of the Army of Humanity. They're already going to have some training since you get some combat training basically by default in-setting, and exhibit high enough aptitude(though this means ability to use them and not skill with one to be fair) with Crimson Arms to get there in the first place. Crimson Arms are effectively magitech weapons of varying types, they're not regular rifles even when they're guns.

I cite Code Vein and Owari no Seraph as influences, both of those have pretty good examples of what I intend combat and weapons to be like.
@Zoey Boey: Transforming gun, gun that's also a sword, that kind of stuff. You can get pretty nuts. They're based on the crazier weapons in Code Vein and the more tame in design but still pretty crazy weapons in Owari no Seraph.
I think people might be misinterpreting just what Crimson Arms are.

The Red Demons all have unique and powerful Crimson arms because of their high aptitude, that's how someone gets recruited to the Red Demons in the first place. You won't get generic stuff with only a single function.
@Zoey Boey: I'll looking over this in more detail tomorrow, but I'll point out that the Red Demons all have unique Crimson Arms, so even if it's gun-based it's going to be a lot more elaborate then a regular assault rifle.

@Pink Khione: That would be fine, just let me know the details you have in mind.
@Jumbus: Hmmm, I'm not quite sure that's going to fit too well. Certainly you can make him an older member of the Red Demons, but Crimson Arms already effectively function to help their wielders fight vampires effectively.
