Torin Hellsong

Kasari blushed slightly as Raya handed her the dark blue fruit, nodding her appreciation. The earth Gems were always so kind, even in the face of adversity here was Raya thinking about her sister bride first. "Thank you very much." She smiled politely before turning her attention to the exotic fruit. It was true that Gemminia received little in the ways of exotic foods, and even then the further one lived from the border the less likely they were to taste anything from Drakka. Kasari had been lucky enough to sample delicacies from Drakka a few years ago but none of which she saw sitting before her now, everything her eyes fell upon was new; and while that could be exciting, it made her more homesick than anything. The fire Gem bit into the fruit gratefully, her eyes going wide with wonder. "Wow... This is amazing. I wouldn't have expected anything like this to be native to your country... No offense." She chuckled apologetically. Apparently she had many misconceptions in her mind about the place she was being sent to, it might do her some good to forget anything she had thought and let first hand experience guide her opinions.

Reaching to a plate to her left, Kasari plucked a few unique looking appetizers for herself and Raya so she could try them as well. When Torin began talking again, Kasari made a point to listen carefully, not wanting to miss anything important. From what it sounded like, she and Raya would have it pretty easy in comparison to other Gem brides taken for The Reaping. In fact, she felt sort of guilty for being happy about the Drakken she was to be with. Comfortably spoiled, that's how she saw it anyway... Raya probably didn't feel quite as thrilled about the proposition. While having whatever she asked for might be nice, the earth Gems were known givers and hardly asked for a thing. To be so far from the forests they loved so much was probably the worst thing that could happen. Again Kasari felt bad about her previous moments of happiness. It was in that moment, however, that an idea struck Kasari... A way to help not only herself and her homesickness, but a way to help out her sister bride too if it were her sort of thing.

"M'lord Torin, I have a strange question. Drakken culture adopts things like art and architecture from the countries they conquer, do they not? Would Raya and I be able to find any temples or shrines dedicated to our patron gods?" Somehow waiting for the answer to this particular question frightened her... What if the idea angered him, she didn't know what she would do if Torin was the type to refuse his Gem brides access to the shrines as a way to show their power over their daily lives. Out of all the things she could possibly ask for, this was perhaps one of the more serious ones. The air around her seemed to jump alive, sparking unconsciously as Kasari prayed silently to whatever god might hear her.
Soooo many good posts. I forgot how much I missed this RP. ^.^

I've started writing my response but I don't think it'll be finished before I leave for work. Sorry bout that, I'll have it for you when I return. Good news is: This shift is only 4 hours long.
The tips of Nova's elongated ears twitched slightly in her irritation, the elf folding her arms tightly to keep from snapping at Rika. "Ha, as if anyone would want to sneak up on you. First glance at your tail and they'd probably run the other way crying," Nova sighed internally, she had snapped at the girl anyway. At this rate she was going to end up like the mustache guy, wandering alone because of some thick headed pride. Taking a slow deep breath through her nose, Nova tried to convey her thoughts in a more calm manner. "We're going about this as if we were still humans. Maybe going around the forest would make more sense back home, but that doesn't mean it'll work out here. Rae needs to get something to eat or that glowing will be giving us away by sundown." She turned her gaze back to the forest, not quite understanding what it was about it that was frightening everyone so much. Where was their sense of adventure? All her life she had been wishing for something like this to happen to her, and now here she was... Two steps away from setting out on a journey that could be the most epic thing of all time, and she was being held back by a bunch of whispers and an unnatural red line. This blows. Nova thought to herself before continuing her rant.

"If you don't want to go into the forest that's fine, in joining this little group I decided to follow the group vote... That being said, you can't possibly think that someone could sneak up on us in a forest without one of us catching on. Rae and I have enhanced hearing, you and Rae the better smell... Not to mention you're part SNAKE! That means you can feel the vibrations of any sort of footsteps through the ground long before they reach us." She stomped her foot on the ground a few times for emphasis before turning her nose to the air. The smoky scent seemed to be coming from the same direction that Marcus had walked off in, Nova's heart skipping a few beats out of excitement. "I'm going to go this way with Marcus... Or do you think that's a terrible idea too?" Nova raised an eyebrow at Rika before laughing and turning away, setting off after the man at a brisk jog.

She slowed her jog as she entered the burned area, eyes wide open in awe of the destruction. "This is incredible." She breathed, eyes beginning to scan the ground in order to avoid stepping on the burnt corpses. Nova felt a pang of sadness as she stepped over the remains of a few smaller bodies, most likely belonging to children of the group camping out in the forest. The farther she walked into the destroyed portion, the worse the smell seemed to get forcing Nova to cover her mouth and nose with her arm. "Careful now, don't go giving whatever it is any ideas. It might still be close enough to hear you; judging by this heat anyway." It might have just been wishful thinking on her part, but beast after fire breathing beast ran through her mind as she looked around for any evidence to support her suspicions (or hope rather). There were many different kinds, some she would rather witness than others, but all equally as dangerous as the last. Still, it was always possible that such destruction could be accomplished by people, people capable of doing such a horrible thing.

Being relatively new to the Project should be fine... Alexandria I believe is also new but my only requirement is that it be new enough to have already gone through the "training". I can pull up a time frame soon but I'm out with a friend right now so completed training within the year is the best I can do for now.
Nova waited patiently in the car for Alexis as she walked back into the bar they'd been just moments before. Leaning her head back against the headrest, she closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment of calm silence before the agent reappeared in the driver's seat. "I just hope these guys aren't wasting my time. For all we know that idiot vigilante was just messing with us. Nevertheless this will be a good opportunity to figure out what the hell is going on in this city." She looked out the window for most of the drive, eyes drifting in and out of focus as building after building rushed by.

Upon arrival, Nova helped herself out of the car and looked up at the building with a whistle. "Not bad at all." She nodded with approval as she kept pace with Alexis on the stairs. Everywhere she looked Nova managed to find something else expensive looking, the apartment building obviously meant for people of decent wealth. Nova almost face-planted walking into Alexis' apartment, doing her best to keep her jaw closed but failing miserably. Finding her words lost, Nova nodded in response to Alexis' offer to make herself at home. "This place is so nice... Caden will never believe me." She breathed as she floated her way to the kitchen area, starting up the coffee maker and pouring herself a cup of a blonde blend she couldn't pronounce if she tried. Mug in hand and a smile on her face, Nova leaned up against the back of the couch phone in hand. She pulled up the tracker's feed, glad to see that it hadn't been discovered yet. "Go me." Nova congratulated herself before Alexis walked in, turning her phone so the agent could see too. "Gas station... Been sitting there for a few minutes already." She hummed to herself typing furiously into the phone, bringing up a live feed of the security cameras in the area. "They're just sitting there... Think they're waiting for someone?" She asked, deciding to record the bit that they were sitting there for just in case.

My posts are beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Before the director could speak to address Jackson's concerns, she noticed a shift in Silvia's stance. Crossing her arms and putting most of her weight on her right leg, she stared down the Guardian blankly. Activating her eyes, Silvia could read the files on each of the Guardians as she passed over their faces. "Jackson Arrowsmith. Male, 24. Ability: Mind Manipulation, classification: level 3 ability. Initial compatibility: 80%; Current Compatibility: 97%." Caden's sigh was mixed with a chuckle as Silvia began her twisted explanation, already seeing where she was going with her rant.

"Touchy subject man, should of just held off with that one." He mumbled to himself, earning a disapproving look from the director standing beside him. Clearing his throat he approached Silvia and placed a hand on her shoulder to stop her from going any further. "What my friend here is trying to say, quite inelegantly I might add, is that your success as a Guardian will make you a failure as an Angel. From what we've found the more your brain takes to your ability the less the chip works. Even with a level one classification the compatibility with the chip drops drastically, we're living examples of that difference. Silvia expressed no ability but her initial compatibility with the chip was 90%, where as I expressed a partial ability and an initial chip compatibility of only 70%."

"We haven't found an answer yet as to what causes this incompatibility but until we do there is no way to modify the chip to work for you. For now you'll just have to settle for working with them, and hopefully sort this mess out long before we unlock the chips' mysteries." Director Nightshade's smile was kind but there was a fire behind her eyes that hinted to a much more serious woman, a look that never failed to creep Caden out. Looking down at her tablet the director tapped a few buttons, causing two holographic displays to appear on either side of her. Each display listed six names, belonging to the Guardians and Angels alike. "These are your teams, Guardians. From now on until this horror show is brought to an end, you will be training and working with these people. Good luck and enjoy your stay." She nodded her goodbye before turning and walking out the door, the holographic displays remaining in the air.

"Alrighty guys, why don't we get this tour started. Jackson, Kyle and Rhiannon are with me. Thomas, Alexandria and Tavi are with Chuckles over there. Hopefully those not here right now will catch up soon." Caden glanced back at the names on the display with slight concern, an expression he quickly pushed aside. "Ready? Great, let's go." He said as he headed towards the door before Silvia, getting a shiver down his spine as he felt her eyes boring holes into the back of his head. "I'm going to start my guys off with the training rooms, so you start with living quarters." He called over his shoulder as he exited the room and into the hallway. Silvia turned her gaze to the holographic displays as they powered off at her command.

"Ready to see where you'll be living for a while?" Unlike before her voice seemed to have shaken off a little of its frost, but was still lacking the usual emotion found in a normal conversation.
@Chronothesis

I do love the power... And while this is technically full, I think I can make an exception to keep the teams at an even number. ^.^ Welcome to Team Alpha!

Teams have been updated and put in their respective tabs on the first OOC post for you guys.

Kisari chuckled silently to herself at the Drakken's response, her muscles relaxing from their tensed state. "No, I suppose I won't." She motioned the lizard, instructing him to climb to her shoulder with a swipe of her hand. As smart as the lizard was, she feared his distance from her, preferred to have him close in case she had to defend him. "Leo, a travelling companion from home. They're a difficult breed to find in the wild, and rumor has it that when they're old enough they can spit sparks at their foes." Kasari cooed fondly at Leo, running two fingers over his horned head and down his spiked back. For whatever reason the rough feeling of his hide was comforting, left her feeling less loss than when she arrived. He reminded her of all the aimless adventures they would set out on together, exploring for days at a time. His presence alone made this nightmare feel less terrible for a short time.

Any and all warm feelings quickly vanished as the male Drakken's female companion came running back to his arms. It was a strange sight for Kasari who had previous thought that all Drakken knew and loved fighting, so why did this one look like a frightened child. Spoiled rich kids are the same everywhere I guess. She thought to herself as she held back a cynical scoff. Soon after her arrival another brutish man made his appearance, demanding the woman in exchange for money... Yet another reminder of how barbaric the Drakken race was, but it wasn't the girl's attitude or the brute's assumptions of the situation that disturbed her... It was Torin's reaction. She watched while the guards loomed over as Torin stole the brute's breath and plunged a dagger through his chest, kicking the corpse aside as if it were no more than a chunk of meat... Though now she figured that's all it was. But his rage did not end with the brute, and instead turned on the woman, grasping her by the horns rather roughly.

So caught up in her disbelief Kasari nearly missed what Torin was saying, introducing himself and his... Sister? Kasari tried to retain her composure but she couldn't fight the shiver that ran down her spine. The woman he had smacked across the face and threatened was related to him? That wasn't a good sign to her, it meant that if either she or the other Gem Raya did anything wrong he wouldn't hesitate to harm them how he saw fit. Not that she had expected anything else from a Drakken but this particular one had given off a different kind of vibe until moments ago. She contained a heavy sigh as she followed Torin, Tyrai and Raya to the dining hall. Kasari hadn't realized how hungry she was until she saw all the food laying out on the table for everyone's enjoyment. Stomach rumbling, Kasari took her seat on the far side of Raya, glad to put a little distance between her and Torin. Holding Leo in her lap, Kasari watched Raya and Torin out of the corner of her eye, wondering if it was alright for her to go ahead and eat. Fearing trouble right off the bat, Kasari cleared her throat politely. "M'lord Torin?... I'm...." Kasari's face burned with embarrassment, kicking herself internally for not being able to ask her question. Instead she smiled despite his lack of eyesight. "My name is Kasari. Kasari Liesma." She trailed off, turning her eyes to the lizard curled up in her lap.
