Please begin populating your completed sheets in the character tab, however, please hold off on immediately posting in the IC as I will create a GM post with Miranda and Jess to introduce Team 78 and bring them all up to speed. Yuri San Choi is the son of Han Choi and Denae Parker. The two married before Yuri was born and it was when Yuri was born that Denae passed away due to complications with the birth. Her dying wish was that Yuri be taken care of. During the entire incident, all she wanted was for Yuri to survive. A mother’s love. Han did the best he could to raise Yuri. It wasn’t until Yuri turned 18 that things changed.
Han Choi, a man of extreme wealth, hailing from old money with deep roots, decided to leave his son in the care of H.E.L.P. in hopes that his son would grow to understand his abilities and hone them to remarkable levels. After witnessing his son’s power he knew what he had to do. He was aware of H.E.L.P. due to prior business with them. Thankfully he managed to get his son safely into the care of H.E.L.P., and from there he went silent. One could call him an ally for the cause.
Yuri arrived at PRCU shaken, with mixed emotions about his father. He understood the danger he could put others in, but he often wondered if there was a different way other than leaving his 18-year-old son with strangers. What he did when placed in the care of H.E.L.P. was devote his time and energy to training and understanding his power.

The HZEs within Yuri allow him to psychically control weather-based atmospheric phenomena. To break it down further, one with this ability can psychically generate clear skies, cloudy skies, winds, rain, fog, etc, at will. In addition, he can psychically generate wind storms, thunderstorms, tornadoes, hail storms, etc. This allows Yuri to fly due to the wind currents around him moving rapidly and supporting his weight at any given time.
L I M I T A T I O N S || Area of Effect
Yuri cannot generate atmospheric phenomena if the area affected does not have the necessary resources to produce the desired effect. In other words, if he is in a dry, hot area, it is nearly impossible for him to summon a rainstorm when there is no moisture present. The area of effect is also limited. It would completely drain Yuri to produce a storm the size of several states. Attempting to create a nationwide storm would result in hospitalization. One to three states are his limit so far.

His true weakness is his emotions. Because of the intensity and violent nature of his power, he must always maintain his emotions. Even when utilizing his gift, Yuri cannot afford to lose control. If he loses control, the phenomena he created can run chaotic and it becomes extremely difficult, almost impossible to regain control of the phenomena because nature is so unpredictable,

His eyes opened to the rumbling of a storm overhead. Slowly he rose from the bed and positioned himself on the side of it. The urge to urinate had made itself known. He could hear the wind viciously rasping at the window, beckoning to be let in. The flash of lightning filled the dark room with a quick burst of light before darkness took its place once again. His eyes adjusted to the darkness, glancing around the room as if expecting someone to be there.
“Get it together Yuri.”
He spoke softly as his eyes finally fell upon the sleeping body next to him. How could he sleep so peacefully when Yuri was wide awake? Was it more than just the urge to pee that awoke him? He couldn’t think about it now. Either he would wet the bed or make his way to the bathroom, and the latter was out of the question. Standing as silently as he could, he moved in the darkness towards the bathroom.

His brown eyes searched the desperate gaze of the man before him. Panicked asking for help. Tattered clothing and unkempt hair proved that this man was in need of something, but what kind of help did he need? Always one to analyze the reasons for numerous things, he couldn’t shake the feeling that this man truly needed help, and without batting an eye, Yuri nodded.
“I will help as much as I can.”

”An intruder?” Yuri questioned as the alarm blared. Loud and annoying, yet needed to prepare them should anyone dare to set foot where they didn’t belong.
Yuri’s eyes darted around everyone gathered wondering what was happening, who was given the charge, and what the instructions would be. In his mind he was curious as to what the intruder looked like, what made them tick, and how dangerous were they. Still, he stood ready to act if need be.
“Mother Nature, protect us from that which threatens to harm. Let your eternal breath sweep the thorns from our path.”
The sudden gust filled the room in response to Yuri’s request.

One thing was certain about Yuri, he was the product of two of the richest people in the world. Korean and African American, but his parents were also mixed. His dad Korean and Puerto Rican. His mom African American and Caucasian. Because of this there were certain expectations he had to live up to. His first year of high school was the worst for him. He was labeled by his peers. Some would call him spoiled, some would call him gay, and of course flamboyant. It wasn’t his fault that he carried feminine and masculine energies extremely well. Most of the hate he received his freshman year was due to jealousy or some other emotion. It wasn’t until his sophomore year that the bullying stopped no thanks to the faculty and staff. Yuri had to take matters into his own hands and defend himself. The bully ended up in the hospital and Yuri no worse for wear. All of those Tai Chi lessons his parents demanded him to undergo paid off. The resulting trouble with his parents was bittersweet, but when it was discovered that Yuri was only defending himself, they eased up on the punishment. Throughout his sophomore year Yuri made loads of friends, though it was never certain whether or not they were simply using him because of his wealth, or sincerely there to be his friend.
Yuri blossomed in his junior year. As one of the most popular in the school, his presence meant something, but he never fit the mold of what popularity was supposed to be. He was humble. He didn’t even know he was one of the popular kids until it was brought to his attention and even then he chose to hang out with those of the student body who were considered “less than” Yuri took up music in his junior year of high school. His love of music was always a prominent thing. As an honor roll student, Yuri maintained A’s throughout his freshman, sophomore, and junior year. During his senior year, his academics allowed him to obtain a scholarship. It was also during his senior year that he started dating. At first, he tried dating a girl because he wasn’t quite sure of his sexuality, but when the girl tried to make her intentions known, Yuri had no reaction to her and it resulted in a very traumatic breakup. After the breakup and a few months before graduation, Yuri met a guy who was brave enough to be openly gay despite judgment from their peers. Things were good until it was time to graduate. His boyfriend at the time used the excuse that they were on different paths and that their lives would be better if they weren’t together. Just an excuse for his ex to go off and experience the party life that college tended to bring. So, Yuri graduated with high honors, thankful to those friends who remained.

Life after Ritman was refreshing. There’s not much to tell. Shortly after graduating high school, Yuri went straight into working on music and fulfilling whatever requests his parents had of him before he left for college. In the mornings after graduating he would go for a run, practice Tai Chi, and then for the remainder o the day he would spend time with either his mother or father if they had time. They were often very busy which is why any time scheduled with each other was important. One could say that after Ritman, Yuri delved deeper into his love for music and began releasing covers on social media. This led to exposure and a fan base that truly showered Yuri with love and appreciation.
With nearly 500,000 followers on Instagram, 50,0000 on Tik Tok and 1.5 million on Youtube, Yuri spent a good chunk of his time uploading videos and completing homework assignments during his freshman year of college. By the time he got to his junior year, almost everyone knew who he was at the university. It was in college that he experience his first abusive relationship. The verbal and mental abuse lasted for an entire year before Yuri got enough strength to leave. Yuri lost some friends due to the relationship because of his blind eye to everything his ex-boyfriend did. Yuri was always forgiving, always willing to look the other way if it meant overcoming, but eventually, it got to the point that Yuri had to make a choice to focus and understand his worth. It took a lot to overcome, but he did and by the time he graduated college he was in love with who he saw in the mirror every morning.
Life can change if you are not careful. Bringing in the wrong element can shift the balance of things, but if you have friends who are willing to buckle down and help you ride it out, you will learn that you are worth more than that.
Yuri possesses the unique ability to create, shape, and manipulate water. With this power, Yuri can psychically move water at will. In addition, he can psychically imbue water into (or extract it from) the surrounding environment. Furthermore, Yuri could psychically manipulate the flow, pressure, physical phases (ie solid, liquid, gas), viscosity, temperature, and other properties of water. Yuri can also psychically control water in its solid (ice), liquid (water/mist), and gas (steam) states. He can breathe underwater, and even psychically shape water into tools and constructs, but it requires focus and concentration to do it.
Yuri, with his affinity for water, can heal wounds when placed in large enough bodies of water like a tub, pool, lake, pond or ocean. It isn't an instant thing, and it takes a bit of time depending on how big the wound is. He can only heal himself this way. Extremely large bodies of water like oceans are very difficult to manipulate/control. It can cause severe fatigue and nosebleeds if he overexerts or attempts anything foolish, such as parting the Atlantic ocean or creating tidal waves.

Yuri hasn’t experienced enough drama and enough heartache as of yet. I want to bring his abusive ex into the picture and make it even more dangerous for him. I want Yuri to have to struggle with his own morals when it comes to how he views life. I want him to find a love interest that sees him for who he is and not the pretty picture he tends to paint for others to see. There can be drama with his parents as well in terms of a secret they’ve kept from him for many years. Any friendships with Yuri will be tested. Yuri will be tested and I want to explore the more caring understanding side of Yuri as well as the brash and dangerous side. The feminine and the masculine. This will lead to him exploring his sexuality more. He does identify has homosexual, but I do believe he is on the cusp of pansexual.
In terms of his power, he discovers his abilities by a failed drowning attempt. After that he will start to have episodes of emotional outbursts that cause any nearby source of h20 to go react. As time goes on his control over his emotion and power will allow him to uncover more to his power and move bigger masses of water. Eventually, after mastering his power, he will be able to part the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean and withstand the crushing depths therein.
+ He can control any form of water, and breath underwater. + The larger the mass of water, the more strain on his body and mind and the more fatigued he becomes. − Extremely dry weather or heat can cause him to overheat and become fatigued and vulnerable. − Breaking his concentration while utilizing his power will cause it to go haywire. − Electrical currents do not phase him, and he can short-circuit electricity.
