"Welcome to the Velvet Room."

Within a lounge draped in blue, sat two strange figures. One of them, a tall woman with straight, shining blonde hair that fell to her hips, looks at you, though she is not the one who spoke. Much like the velvet curtains draped over the windows, this woman's uniform was almost entirely blue, with only a black belt and shoes adding to her colour palette.

On the cerulean sofa beside her, was a much shorter man, who slowly raised his head. Despite his tengu-like nose, and wide, bloodshot eyes, you sensed no hostility from him. If anything, he gave the impression of a strange, yet likable uncle.

"This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter."

The strange man spoke as he waved an arm over the table before him. Several tarot cards were laid out, four rows of five. Grinning with anticipation, he picked one card up, seemingly at random, staring at it for a moment before saying, "It has been a long time since I entertained multiple guests. I look forward to the results of this meeting."

It is at this moment that the presence of others beside you becomes known. To your eyes, they are simply faceless figures that make no noise. Again, there seems to be no hostility in them.

"You possess the potential to carve an interesting future," spoke the woman at last, her voice authoritative, despite the carefree expression she wore, "with so many guests, I cannot wait to see the possibilities of the future."

The man nodded, steeping his fingers as he leaned forward.

"Do not concern yourself with that, for the moment," he said, his eyes continuing to stare unblinkingly at the small gathering before him, "when you wake up, please consider your role in this tale. To be a major or minor player, is entirely your choice. When we next meet, please tell me how you will continue."

And with that, the blue lounge began to fade from view as the woman rose to her feet. The words she said were barely audible as your consciousness faded...

• Appearance: All you need to do is smile?

• Arcana: Moon

• Personality: Sachiko is an exceedingly cheerful and energetic person. It’s next to impossible to meet her on a day where she isn’t smiling broadly. She even tends to skip on her way to a destination, when the mood takes her. She’s never one to shy away from engaging others in conversation, even those that are initially a little hostile. Even when met with overt aggression, she tends to take it in her stride and either attempt to diffuse the situation or simply make a calm exit.

Or at least, that was the old Sachiko. Given recent events, Sachiko is in two minds about who she really is. A lot of the anger from her childhood has been dredged up, and now she's prone to reacting harshly towards people and being very unforgiving. In spite of this development, however, she doesn't entirely wish to be a hateful person. The last thing she wants to do is alienate her good friends, but with things the way they are, chances are she just might.

• Equipment/Skills: Sachiko is a talented dancer, especially of the ballet variety. She is quite flexible and agile, capable of preforming feats of acrobatics with ease.

• Background: Up until the age of 10, there was little of note to be said about Sachiko’s life. At that age, however, she ran afoul of a group of bullies at her school which harassed her for the bulk of the year. Though she complained, the school authorities were less than interested in sorting out a “harmless” case of school hijinks. It was around this time that her mother told her to just be happy, and not let the bad things in life get to her. After this, she adopted this mentality as her personal philosophy. She garnered quite the reputation amongst her social circles for her positive demeanour, and carried on like this throughout her high school life, until very recently...

Name: Misaki Mikawa

Appearance: ”Oh, I’m sure you’d much rather be looking at Chiaki or Sachiko…”

Personality: Misaki is more than a little weird, to put it bluntly. Flighty, spacey, and hyperactive are all good ways to describe her. If something interests her, she’ll usually put a good day into obsessing over it….until either something equally interesting comes along or her interest just peters out. When she finds the opportunity to launch into talking about something that interests her, she’ll talk until the day everyone around her dies of old age if she isn’t stopped.
All her eccentricities aside, she’s a pretty dedicated friend, and is always ready to help someone out. Though due to her perpetual lack of self-esteem, she’s unlikely to be helpful in regards to anything too strenuous, but she’ll definitely try….from the shadows….while speaking in a hushed tone.

Background: Misaki’s personality essentially painted a huge glowing target on her back for the worst in life. During junior high, the problem got to be at its worst, and Misaki didn’t really have a single friend to call hers. That changed when she met Sachiko. Sachiko supported her through one of the worst times of her life, and Misaki has followed her around ever since. She looks up to Sachiko’s sunny personality and only wishes she could be more like that….

Personality: Rui is a generally reserved individual who often prefers some time alone, but that is not to be mistaken for disliking company. He is a tolerating person, and very rarely angers, surprisingly able to hold conversations but is generally of very few words. He chooses to stay positive in almost every circumstance but will default to being a realist if the time calls for it. He has a good sense of consequences that result from actions, but while good, his judgement is still far from perfect.

He's basically a fairly nice and quiet guy.

Fion was born in a hospital in the city Toronto in Canada to a business man named Steven and Alice a local restaurant waitress. When Fion was born he had a small breathing problem that the doctors said would only affect him until he was around seven or eight years old but that was more an assumption then anything. when Fion was two years old his parent's gave birth to twin girls and they were named Mary and Erika these two would quickly become Fion's closest friends. when Fion was three he started watching cartoons most notable was pokemon it was his favourite show and stayed that way until he was twelve years old this also caused his interest in anime. When Fion was four he began going to school he made a fair amount of friends and he also began drawing around this time. His Childhood was like this until he was about six because on his sixth birthday he was given a Game Boy Colour and he started playing at first as entertainment when he was alone or bored but as the years went by and he got newer and better systems it became a bigger and more important aspect of his life.

When Fion was eight he started to notice while he was playing more and more video games not that many of his friends were playing them as much as him by this point.Around this time Fion started having troubles with his breathing despite the fact he should have been fine by that point his breathing got to the point where running made him feel slightly dizzy. he seemed okay however so he had a check up in the hospital but it happened again a year later and it was worse. This caused Fion to go to the hospital to be checked it turned out on of his lungs were partially damaged it was a wonder it didn't affect him much until that point but it caused him to need to stay in the hospital for five months because he needed surgery and they wanted to see if anything would happen in that time. While in the hospital Fion really only had his Video games and books at the hospital to keep him company. The hospital had a book for all ages about myth's Fion read it eight times all the way through with in his five months there. His life in the hospital was fairly boring though occasionally his sisters would come visit and they'd play video games with Fion and talk about school.

When Fion was able to leave the hospital school seemed normal to him besides the occasional person saying their glad he was okay. Then however when he was ten he discover'd almost everyone he was friends with all liked different thing's then Fion they even began teasing him for watching a lot of the shows he watched and for some of the games he played saying they were for babies. Since Fion was fairly liked until this point it made him feel quite sad. when Fion was eleven he had only one friend besides his sisters and Video Games and that one friend decided him an Fion should dress up as video game characters so they both did Fion dressed as a pokemon trainer and his friend dressed up as Mario. This ended up fairly well surprisingly few people seemed to realize it was him and actually thought it was kinda cool. Fion actually had a lot of fun with it and decided to dress like that more often as it made him feel more confidant in himself and not scared of being made fun of. When Fion was twelve he started spending his time when we wasn't playing video games or reading dressing up as video game or anime characters he even draw a few characters he thought looked cool and would be amazing in a game. Though he had a pretty crappy time in school since a lot of people disliked what Fion loved he actually got teased a few times because he read more then anyone in his class because of his reading and love of drawing he usually had the highest grade in English and a fairly high grade in his art class. Fion also started learning Japanese around this time more or less because he thought it sounded cool but also because as a kid he wanted to one day visit Japan.

When Fion was thirteen his parents decided to move to the other side of the city causing Fion to go to a new school and he decided instead of being himself in front of people to pretend to just be some happy go lucky person. On his first day of his new school he went dressed Kyrie Illunis from the video game and anime Sands of Destruction so for the most part he looked like a normal kid. When he went to class he even began acting like the character he was dressed as because Fion knew even if he was made fun of it wasn't his own personality being made fun of. Surprisingly that day ended out well and he decided to occasionally go to school dressed up like a character from a video game or anime. around the time Fion went to High School he began to have a reputation as a cos player little did people now he was actually some fairly shy guy who loved video games,anime,drawing and reading. He managed to stay out of trouble with his costumes until he was fifteen years old were he decided to dress up as his favorite character from a game with assassins and all sorts of crazy parkour that seems unrealistic at times he surprisingly didn't get in trouble or noticed however until his class began. When his class began however he got sent to the principals office for dressing oddly he didn't really get in much trouble he just go sent to the guidance counselor to see he did it. he spent a lot of that year in the counselors office for the most part he was just asked why he did it and he had the same response every time which was "because it's what I do and it's fun" His parent's however didn't find it fun and spent some time figuring out why he did what he did but eventually decided they'd send him to his grandparents moved to japan when Fion was ten.The reason behind this being his parents thought maybe he just felt bored with his current life and knew he dreams of going to japan one day plus he hadn't seen his grandparents in years.

to make it easier I will speak of his life with his sisters here. Fion and his sisters never really got along until Fion was seven due to differences in likes and dislikes and the fact they were only five. But when he became seven Fion and his sisters slowly warmed up to each other and started playing together. When Fion was sent to the hospital they went to see him as often as they could and would always play games with him or tell him of how school was for them. When Fion was twelve he and his sisters went to the park an played when they could they even played video games with him but there were to distinct differences in the twins Mary perfer'd to be popular and main stream where Erika perfer'd to be like her older brother the only difference is she is a lot more shy then Fion. When Fion was fifteen his sister Mary began hanging out with more preppy people and popular people she soon stopped really hanging out with him and actually began ignoring him. Where as Erika stayed close to Fion and had very few friends and her favorite thing to do was watch anime with Fion and when Fion was sent away to a different country she promised to send him emails as often as she could and to try and come visit him whenever possible.

This is an extremely important part of how Fion grew up when Fion was born util he was four his father was a struggling businessman and his mother couldn't work due to having children but they managed to full it off then as if it was luck when Fion was five his father was able to start a small business in electronics with the help of a loan the business managed to be fairly successful but didn't grow much until Fion was eight . When Fion was eight his mother was able to go back to work and his fathers small business started growing due to people having to have more of the newest and latest electronics. His parent's still managed to find time for him and his sister by this point and they managed to make time from them until Fion was twelve. When Fion was Twelve his father began working as hard as he could to try and make his business as successful as he could and Fion's mother after working at that restaurant for so long was promoted to the assistant manager making her need to have longer and later hours at work.Meaning around this time Fion and his sisters were home alone a lot and this is one of the reasons Fion's parent's never stopped him from dressing up before going to school. It was like that with Fion's family until he was fifteen then by that point his parent's learned of how he was acting and they tried changing him. but they failed for the most part and decided to send him away to his grandparents in hopes he could become more like a normal boring person,

When Fion was about ten he had grown to have a very large interest in swords of all types and began to read about various techniques and sword styles as he grew older he started trying to "practice" these techniques by grabbing a stick and attempting to perform them. He would often get strange looks for swinging a stick around in a park but besides that never really got in trouble for it. about a week after moving into his grandparents home he decided to buy a wooden sword since he doubted he could buy a real one.

Age: 17, born on February 16th.

Appearance: Thin with graceful figure, Sato is approximately 176 cm tall and around 70 kg, with an unfortunately pale skin tone and a fine complexion. His hair and eyes are both a deep brown color.

Personality: Sato’s the type of person who wears formal clothing to semi-formal outings. He always speaks in a polite and respectful manner, even to underclassmen and close friends, and he tends to take command over things instead of just obeying/following, so he creates friction when he's not put in a place of authority in a group. Sato also rarely shows much emotion when not necessary, and as such he can be very passionate about things that break that barrier between his actual self and the mask he wears. Has an extreme aversion to being manhandled.

Skills/Equipment: Besides his latest interests, Sato rarely chooses his own hobbies or skills to develop, and he was instead coerced into extracurricular activities by his parents. Some of the skills he gained from participating in them were: playing the piano, painting, acting/drama, and baseball. Additionally, a little bit into his second year, Sato joined the archery club (which he is fairly good at) and started practicing by himself most days after school. His social skills are competent but he tends to take things at face value.

It doesn’t look fancy, but it's a nice touch to wear.

Background: A third-year student in class 3-3 born into a high-class family that moved to Warakuma from a nearby city for his mother’s work. Being the first (and only) child, he lived a very controlled upbringing, to the extent where everything he did could fit on a very loose schedule. All his classes, all his activities, and all of his hobbies were chosen for him from the very start. However, after his father, a white collar worker, had abandoned them for a hotter woman, his mother was forced to be in the position of the breadwinner and needed a better job. While she got a good occupation, they were required to move to a different town for it, leaving Sato in a new school with very little guidance from his parents, or rather, parent.

Sato very well could have embraced this new freedom. But his entire life had been a series of things he only participated in solely to bolster his skills and eventual social status. Why would he throw away what his entire life had been just because of his new-found freedom? For the entirety of his middleschool and the first year of highschool, he focused on his studies and the clubs he was in, but even when he was with them, his "friends" were little more than tools to help him succeed. Early in his second year of highschool, his mother decided that they would have to move yet again, but this time to the rural town of Warakuma, which happened to be a long ways away from the city he currently lived in.

Rokoru Ishiara

(Rokoru’s Theme)

Age: 18, born on September 19th.

Appearance: Rokoru looks a bit older than pretty much everyone else in the third year, and tends to just take up space with his positioning and possessions despite not being the biggest person around. He stands at 182 cm and weighs about 85 kg. He's not lean, but most wouldn't say he's overweight either, and exists in a limbo between those two adjectives. Most of the time he wears practical and ordinary clothes if not his school uniform, since he tends to wear his uniform all day on school days. He spikes his hair into a short fauxhawk, and typically has a stern expression as a default face.

Personality: While he looks like a mature young man, Rokoru's body language and actions show how he's still a highschool student with much to learn about the world and the reasons why everything is why it is. A bit conceited and over-zealous, he still looks out for others more than himself and leads people exceptionally well. Rokoru acts as a bit of a role-model for Sato despite being less than a year older, mostly because he's significantly better in archery and Sato admires his people skills. Rokoru is also a big fan of Western rock music, and typically imports CDs and plays them at practice.

Skills/Equipment: His initiative and leadership skills made him a prime candidate for becoming the president of the WHAC, even when he was a first-year. Rokoru also remains as one of the best archers in Warakuma Highschool.

Keeping them on your head indoors makes you seem like you're trying too hard.

Background: A third-year student in class 3-2 born and raised in Warakuma who apparently might be moving soon. Rokoru is the current president of the Warakuma High Archery Club. While he does exceptional as a leader for the club, his actual grades in class are generally rather poor, and mediocre at best. Known as Class 3-2's biggest dunce (both literally and figuratively), some say that their class's averages drop drastically simply due to the presence of Rokoru's marks, but most disregard it as a silly rumor to make fun of him. Hopefully. His PE marks are pretty good, though, and his "best" subject is mathematics.

Mika Moriyama

Age: 18, born on December 4th.

Appearance: Mika always seems to have a smile on her face. She wears a thick crimson scarf around her neck at all times, except in the summer months were she opts it out for a thinner sky-blue one. Her hair is about shoulder-blade length, though it’s normally tied into a bun at the back. While her clothes are all pretty fashionable, though she doesn’t really think much on what to wear and often just goes for what looks the best at the time. Her uniform is worn pretty much exactly like everyone else’s, but she always wears knee socks. Possibly multiple pairs if it’s too cold out. She stands at 167 cm and weighs about 64 kg.

Personality: Mika’s an energetic and positive person, and tries hard in whatever she does, especially with other people. She often befriends anyone she meets but sticks close to her favorite people, which includes Rokoru Ishiara. She’s also one of the only people who can persuade Rokoru away from his work and is often seen dragging him off to go get decent food for lunch instead of stuff from the vending machines. Her care for others is a little off-base to some, but it’s honestly all in good intention, and Mika simply likes seeing others happy.

Skills/Equipment: She does well in both academics and sports, and is a proud member of both the Warakuma Highschool Archery Club and the Track team. Mika is one of the better archers in Warakuma High, though nothing particularly special.
Weapon: Practice Yumi

Background: A third-year student born and raised in Warakuma, Mika is currently a member of the Warakuma High Archery Club and a runner in the Warakuma High Track Team. She performs well in her chosen sports, and has average grades in most of her taken subjects, though her language arts score is exceptionally high, to the point where she was offered a scholarship for it. Her family lives a typical middle-class life. They also have two cats. The cats are important to Mika.

Age: 17, born on Febuary 25th.

Appearance: The most immediately noticeably thing about him is how the top of his hair stands up in a permanent cowlick. The reason being that it’s more noticeable than other things is that he’s shorter/smaller than a lot of the other students in his year, standing at 162 cm and weighing about 58 kg. His define and sharp features are usually stuck in a furrowed expression, typically betraying his feelings. The boy tends to wear his uniform in a rather plain fashion, only opening the collar of it as he feels it’s a bit stuffy with it fastened around his neck. Most of his outfits consists of layers of warm clothing, such as sweaters, vests, and jackets, often accompanied by scarves or hats in the winter.

Personality: Wordless by nature, Yuki rarely shows much interest in others. Just because he doesn’t show it, however, doesn’t mean it’s there. He’s attentive to others (often just listening to a conversation than participating) and can read people as well as he can read an actual book. Though, despite his apparent withdrawn personality, Yuki’s stubborn and will settle for nothing less than his way, though he rarely vocalizes his protests and instead resorts to more “childish” methods of deterring people from following anybody but him.

Skills/Equipment: Since his favorite pastime is reading, Yuki can read incredibly well, and can even write his own weight in gold. His memory’s fairly solid as well though he often gets distracted by something before it really comes in handy.

Background: A third-year student in class 3-1 who was raised in Warakuma. Being the scholarly type he is, Yuki excels in his academics and is seen as a star pupil by most of his teachers. He doesn’t talk much, and resultantly, combined with other things, he never had very many friends. Though, the boy never minded it and instead just went along with whoever would bother to talk to him at the time. One of the best ways to get “temporary friends” was to join a club and tag along with whoever would let him, which ended up being the club president of the archery team when he had endlessly offered to teach him until Yuki accepted. Though, despite his apparent friendship with the people at the range, Yuki’s only real interest in companionship lies elsewhere.
