Introduction
The year is 2066.

It has been exactly twenty years since two parallel, yet unseen worlds, finally made contact with one another. It has been officially nineteen years since these worlds viewed and respected each others differences and soon, it'll be time for the 19th anniversary of peace between this two extremely different worlds. After the very fabric of time and space split, Lucis and Earth, forever separated, become through a massive wormhole in the sky.

This wormhole, dubbed by common tongue as the "Black Gale" is home to miles of unexplored wilderness and the infamous "mysterious labyrinths" which are known for appearing randomly, spawning a number of monsters and always changing in design when entered. In order to combat the threat of wildlife, labyrinths and even potential war between the two worlds, a number of academies have begun to pop up all over the areas of the Black Gale currently inhabited by humans.

These academies vary by location, but all have the same general concept -- "the end result is peace." Each school takes a variety of races from both worlds and by allowing them to co-exist and learn from each other, students work together towards graduation. Upon graduation, students are officially recognized as "Gatekeepers", an honor by any form of government and realized by both worlds to be enforcers of law, peace and overall, protection.

You are one of these students. Perhaps you are ordinary or extremely gifted, good with technology, magic, alchemy or people. Either way, you've been chosen by the headmaster of one academy in particular -- the Academy of The Arcane Artes. It is unknown as to why students are chosen, but the academy itself is outstanding by standards with high graduation and some of the most famous Gatekeepers are known to have graduated from there.

That being said, the option is yours to take.

The Letter
The letter is received at the same time for every student. It is dropped nearby the student (such as a windowsill) by a raven, black as night. It can appear during the night, day, afternoon or elsewise. Should you be a second year student and so on, you receive a variation of this letter that is simply updated information about you. After this letter is received by the academy, you are to receive a uniform bearing the academy's crest with the choice of a cloak or coat.

Rules
1.) You may have as many characters as you'd like and/or can handle.
2.) If you have any questions, please leave them in the thread, PM me or visit our chat. You may also request my Steam or Skype.
3.) If I am gone for several days, any GMs or Co-Mod(s) remaining are left in charge of the thread. You do not need to wait for me.
4.) Shouldn't be too much of an issue, but there is to be absolutely no powerplaying, metagaming or godmodding allowed.
5.) Avoid speedposting. There will not be a posting order, however, I do not want two pages between the same two people.
6.) Respect Co-Mods, they have all the same powers as GMs. You may speak to me if you wish to be a Co-Mod.
7.) No smut is permitted, anything past hugs and kisses is either "fade to black" or take to PMs.
8.) You may attack another player's character, however, you cannot kill them without permission.
9.) You'll receive a warning if you start drama outside of the Roleplay: first one to start, first one out.
10.) If a troll appears, feel free to poke at it, but don't feed it. Do not be a troll yourself.
11.) Not a rule, but I'd love to see some character development, plot twists, proper grammar and so on.

"Enhanced Human"
A type of modified human that the earth governments, particularly the United States, have been incorporating into their military. Based on the role the recruit is going into, they are given a modifier that helps them with their job. Alika was given the "Gyrfalcon" modification, greatly increasing her reaction time and eye site. The bi-products vary, such as her new found physical features like her white hair, the small feathered wings sprouting from her head, or her new feathered tail. She only just went through the process a month ago so she still getting used to the new found abilities. The another part comes with a slight unintentional increase in a user's magical affinity. Allowing them to use rudimentary magic more effectively.

Class
"Strike Witch"
A Strike Witch as a unit is typically an individual given both physical modifications and special equipment for combat. As an Aerial Witch, Alika is given a "Striker", a leg mounted unit that allows her to fly through the sky like a jet fighter. Her particular module is an old family one that's been passed down for a few generations. It's based off of the F-22 fighter from the early 2010s which was the most advance fighter of its time. She has minor stealth capabilities and can zip and turn through the sky like no other. Strike Witches are often more heavily armed, hence her M61 Gatling Rifle.

"The M61 Gatling Rifle"
This heavy assault rifle fires 20mm rounds at around 4,000 rounds a minute. Naturally she has to have a light trigger finger with this bullet hose weapon. Thankfully the recoil is well managed and she can use it effectively, though it is a short to medium range weapon even as deadly as it is.

Short Biography
To put it simply, she was pressed into military service through her family, making her go to the United States Air Force Academy at 17. When she recieved the letter she took it as a way out of getting thrown into the military life and finally doing something with her life where she will have the final say. Other than that, the more gritty things will hopefully be revealed later in the roleplay.

A friendly individual who tends to lean on the skeptical side.

Fears? She doesn't want to die. That's it. She's been getting military life and mentality shoved down her throat for most of her life so the concept of hesitating in a fight out of fear is lost to her. She fears losing her friends or hell even her family even after the crazy lifestyle they put her through. She's only human after all.

Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits
She is really really really good with flying. I mean anything. You stick her in a bi-plane and in a minute she's flying like an Ace. Its one of the few things she feels pure joy and happiness from. That's why she still stuck to keeping her Strikers as they are a key to her ultimate freedom. Flying is her life.

The bi-products vary, such as her new found physical features like her hardened skin that particularly shows on her face as seen in the image, her new sharp jagged teeth, or her new found shark like tail. This transformation occurred earlier in her life and she is fairly used to it. The another part comes with a slight unintentional increase in a user's magical affinity. Allowing them to use rudimentary magic more effectively.

"Strike Witch"
A Strike Witch as a unit is typically an individual given both physical modifications and special equipment for combat. As an Aerial Witch, Elena is given a "Heli Striker", a back mounted unit that allows her to fly through the sky like an aircraft. However, Elena was given a unique "Heli Striker" based off the older Russian Ka-50 Shark attack helicopter. She is slower than jet strikers in the air, but has greater control and can hover in the air as well as take off vertically with ease.

Weapon
She was given weaponry that compliment her Striker Unit. First is the most prominent 40mm Auto Cannon she wields. Using what little knowledge she has currently of magic, she can enhance the rounds fired from her weapon to pack even a greater punch. Second is the four "KA19 AGM Missiles" she has mounted on her arm. Finally she carries a family air loom. A cavalry sword that has been passed down from soldier to soldier. Other than its antiquity and craftsmanship, there is nothing extraordinary about the blade.

Short Biography
She was conscripted into the experimental Strike Witch program at age 15 during the "Second Crimea War". While the process was painful and taxing on her body and mind, she came out with her sanity and new found abilities. During a Joint Operations program, she met Alika and has been one her few true friends ever since. She's excited to be chosen to go to the same school as Alika since their military careers would originally make it hard for them to meet up in person.

Very laid back and friendly. Never takes anything very seriously.

Short Biography: Ier-Briar spent three centuries in a mountain, slowly gaining self-awareness. Upon birth, he was taken under the wing of Ezar-Mantine, an ancient Gemstone who made it his duty to teach the young ones how to control their natural powers and become part of the rest of society. Though not exactly talented in the manipulation of his own body, his sturdiness amongst other Gemstones had earned him the surname of Thorn-of-Shield. His feminine appearance, on the other hand, had earned him a collection of more vulgar nicknames. After six years of perfecting his figure and his form, Ier-Briar was somehow sent a letter by a headmistress of whatever academy, telling him to join. He didn’t exactly want to, but Ezar-Mantine said that it was a good opportunity to see the rest of the world, so he did.

Of course, before he left, he also shattered a few faces that he didn’t particularly like.
Personality: Ier-Briar is a pretty steady, positive guy. Surprisingly reliable, despite looking like a child and being only six years old, he’s a really generous person, the kind who gives homeless people change, or shares his lunch with friends. Then again, part of this kindness might just stem from the fact that, as a Gemstone, he has no need for money, shelter, warmth, food, or anything that those fleshbags require for continued existence. Though he has recently made attempts to improve himself in that direction, he still sees his race as superior to all those other soft humanoids. Ier-Briar also has a really good poker face, and has a tendency to never forget misgivings. If, fifty years into the future, someone gets punched through a wall by a young boy, it’s probably going to be Ier-Briar, who had allowed his revenge to be served cold.

Other: Like most Gemstones, Ier-Briar is aware that there is a segregation between love and reproduction. With a body that can be changed into any form, Gemstones are basically the Dittos of Lucis, other than the fact that they are cold to the touch and can’t sexually reproduce.

Class:
Commando - Taking his expertise with firearms into account, and his moderate anatomical capabilities, Varren found himself most effective by fashioning such a class. Going by the book, a commando is an individual who shows cunning advancement in the field of ballistic weaponry, showing a knack for the practice at an early age, and excelling past those who would be considered veterans in the span of a few years. A literal sense of being the bullet. Fully intertwining themselves with their instruments, and wielding such contempt to unsurmountable extents on the battlefield. Though only a few individuals full under such a title, Varren being one of them, they thrive in the midst of combat, but falter in social interactions. Though most commandos tend to make themselves the focus of their enemies, Varren fancies hit-and-run attacks and tactics which involve stealth. Varren has also dabbled in basic medicine, carrying a backpack full of first aid necessities. However, he tends to only pack a small amount of resources, in precaution to impeding his movement.

Short Biography:
Born to the Yinyues family, a family which inherited the American manufacturing company known as Magpul. How the Yinyues managed to acquire the rights to Magpul, and all of the products under its copyright, is a story for another time. Since the present of a firearm was always present within the Yinyues’ house, Varren was bound to pick up on his family’s hobby. If anything, the idea of teaching a toddler how to utilize a firearm wasn’t even frowned upon. His parents believed it was a plausible idea, to enlighten the boy with prior knowledge of what he would inherit. It wasn’t long until they discovered he had a natural knack for the usage of weapons, soon fashioning and making his own adjustments to existing platforms. But such a practice became more than a pastime. It began to suck up a majority of the hours he was awake; and if he wasn’t engineering or practicing, he was most likely studying to secure his inheritance. This left no time open for social interaction, which lead up to his entitlement of the class Commando.

Personality:
Varren is a fountain of self-expression, constantly flowing with emotion and passion. Considered to be an open book of his inner feelings, he conveys himself to those around him with any regrets or remorse. Though, stating his own opinions isn’t a problem; its making connections with the receivers of said opinions is his predicament. Unable to find the words to properly come across people as his true self, people are left to perceive him at their own digression. At times, he attempts to strike a conversation with others, but brushes them off as odd, annoying and a nuisance. Given his childish nature, compared with his age, he catches people off guard and unknowingly forces them out of their comfort zone.(Might add some more once I get home)

  • Anatomical Defficiency: Not as strong as most would presume, Varren is generally a twig of a human being, who can somehow muster the strength to wield weapons of mediate caliber. Though anything chambered in battle or sniper rifles is a no-go, and can easily throw out his frail shoulder.

  • Hot Chocolate: Can’t stomach the stuff. Found out he had such a weak spot for the beverage when his mother attempted to substitute it for his addiction with coffee. The results were not pleasing, to himself nor the toilet he clutched for the majority of the night.


  • Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits:
  • Persona Fluctuations: Medically diagnosed ’dissociative identity disorder’, Varren can completely change his personality at random intervals. Such occurrences are uncontrollable, and when documented, never show any relations or possible signs of a trigger. Though, the only persona which comes out of the fluctuation is completely different from the ordinary Varren. It is basically a polar opposite of the kind mannered boy, retaining an emotionless composure, leaving no openings for second thought or remorse. The counterpart is only in control for the span of a few moments, and once the proper Varren regains his senses, he has no recollection of the past events.

    Two guns, a pistol and a revolver. The pistol is custom-made (for a 'classic' look, with modern weaponry capabilities), and is a gift from his father. The revolver is standard, but heavily modded for his personal use. He normally only uses one at a time, but he's certainly capable of gunslinging.

    He owns a sniper rifle, but it doesn't see much use. Yes, he'd be able to maximize his efficiency with it, but he doesn't like carrying large guns around when he doesn't have to, preferring his lightweight and concealable handguns.

    Short Biography
    He grew up on the East Coast of the United States, in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area. It isn't quite known for sure how his incredible marksmanship came about (maybe to-be-discovered in story). However, his interest in cybernetics came about in his late teens, due to a pretty geeky sci-fi obsession. After his 18th birthday, he signed up in several research programs granting him the implants. It wasn't long before he realized how well they worked in tandem with his pre-existing skills, and honed them even further together. He's already been scouted by a few organizations, and has a few pretty-much guaranteed-jobs as a sniper (should he choose them) after he finishes his last year at the academy.

    Appearance
    I can't really find any good pictures that show what I'm going for, so I'll paint the beginning of a picture and you can fill in the blanks in your imagination.

    He's white, with blue-grey eyes and dark brown hair. Short, tidy, but stylish. Strong chin/jawline, clean-shaven. On the taller-average side, about 6'3". Muscular, not huge, but it's fairly apparent he works out. The implants look something vaguely like Cyborg implants from SWTOR, having nothing better as a reference point. Ignore the large mouthpiece, and you'll get the idea.

    Personality
    He's generally a pretty laid-back guy. He likes to have fun, but he's got a strong work ethic thanks to his parents. He's got the makings of a good leader, but he prefers to stay out of the spotlight and let others take charge. He's straightforward and sometimes blunt, but knows when to keep his mouth shut. In short: He's loose, but he doesn't take crap.

    N/A at this time, but from reading over the other CS's, there are a few others I think he'd work well with.

    He won't admit to having any fears out loud, but he has several. To be established in-story, perhaps? He doesn't really have any more 'weaknesses' than any other human being. If he's really distracted, it will detract from his aim. That said, his shot wouldn't be too horrible thanks to some degree of dummy-proofing in the computers.

    Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits
    He has several cybernetic implants, specifically in his arms and hands, brain, eyes, and ears. They provide various upgrades (obviously nothing too major), such as increased vision, hearing, making him ambidextrous, etc. Incredibly gifted naturally, the systems in his implants increase his already-frightening marksmanship into almost pinpoint accuracy.

    Due to the amount of time he spent perfecting his accuracy, he's slacked quite on practicing his magic. He's really only an average student there.

    He's not fond of wearing the Academy's uniform jacket, and rolls up the sleeves of the collared shirt. He's yelled at often for this, and it's a wonder he hasn't faced any more severe punishment. He also likes to play classical guitar and blues harmonica in his spare time.

Elves age slower than humans, as well, and can live to be as old as two hundred fifty to three hundred years old.

    Loreal is one of the younger sisters of her family. Her particular elven society make themselves at home in the canopy of the trees of the rainforest she lived in. She loves her family and friends, though the "small-town" life was far too dull for her. So, upon recieving the letter, she jumped at the opportunity to attend the academy.

    Personality
    Generally very kind, but doesn't entirely understand the concept of personal space. Despite her kindness, she enjoys drama and being the center of attention--for better or worse. Has trouble understanding others and tends to be egocentric and flirty. On a good day, she's very confident and lively; on a bad, very moody and withdrawn.

    She carries two short swords in case she's forced into melee, but she doesn't excel at close combat. Physically, she's not as strong as humans, which is typical for elves.

    She can manipulate most plant life as needed and is almost always immediately loved by animals. With her bow, she's an extremely good shot. She's paritcularly agile and flexible and is great at climbing over and about obstacles.

    Dragon: dragons of Earth are as rare as other magical species, but far stronger. They take it upon themselves to defend other beings from hunters and humans who would exploit them. Overtime, they have "evolved" to take human shape, allowing them to blend in with society as necessary. They're strong and durable creatures, and (on earth) only another dragon's fangs or claws can penetrate their scales. However, the magic on Lucis is far more advanced, so there might be some weaknesses found there. They tend to live to be ten times as old as humans, so the early hundreds tend to be considered young.

    Born and raised in Swedan, Dagny was always taught to help others. So, when the letter from the Academy arrived, she was quick to leave home.

    Personality
    Dagny holds herself to high standards and typically does a good job of meeting those standards. This can lead to her being extremely hard on herself when she messes up, and she tends to hold herself (and other dragons) responsible for the safety of other magical beings whether or not she is able to intervene. She's motivated and ambitious, and doesn't really do anything half-assed. Like, if you're walking, she's POWER WALKING. If you're eating dinner, she's DEVOURING DINNER. While this can make her come of as intimidating or intense, she's generally in a good, loud mood. She used to get embarrassed and quiet down, but now she's rather confrontational when she gets odd looks or whispers--though she doesn't usually mean harm.

    Dragons are far sighted so up close, they can't see as well. Becase of her natural size and weight, Dagny is physically slowly than most fighters. While it's nearly impossible to penetrate or bruise her skin, any damage to her mouth or eyes will hurt like a bitch. Magic can do harm to her, too. She's not as strong as a full fledged dragon either.

    Fire breathing, super strength, and super tanky.

    The Trifling are a name giving to mostly human though somewhat not creatures, Most often it is given to those who are of human parentage but have non human ancestors of a mythical kind, So the great, great grandson of Lucifer would be a Trifling. They tend to inherit a good portion of their ancestors power, though this is magnified through various means such as magical/technological assistance or even something as simple as being the seventh son. They rarely have any visible differences, However their aura is massively abnormal.

    Class
    Arcane Technomancer. A technomancer is someone who has a mastery over technology. and Arcamancer is someone who has mastery over the Arcane arts, such as magic. An Arcane Technomancer is a combination thereof. capability to create, Master, and use Arcane technologies, often lost, or forgotten. While they oft do not have the precision of a high tech laser sniper rifle, or the ease of hurling a fireball. They make up for it in outright durability, Versatility, and destructive power.

This axe is powered by both Leo's innate magic and a internal bank of Mana crystals which re-charge over time. the weapon itself can discharge the Mana in several ways, The first being a blast of concussive force over short distance, the second being energizing the rifle rounds to a specific magic type. the third is enhancing the weapon edge with a specific magic type, the fourth, and possibly most useful is in a 'mana catalyser' which generates ammunition for the rifle. there is also a 'Last Resort' device, called a Mana Bomb, it combines the principles of an Hydrogen bomb, with Mana, creating a hurled orb of condensed energy which would (at maximum charge) flatten a 4 bedroom house, However the more magic he has used, the weaker this attack. The downside is this burns out most of the Mana crystals inside of it, Meaning they need replacing, The amount of destructive force can be reduced (and thus the damage to the mana crystals is also reduced)

    Casting Pistol, As seen in his image, this pistol enhances is his magic casting ability and allows him to use more powerful spells, the internals of it are unknown to all but himself, it has an alternate firing mode as a short range (five meter) wave gun which disrupts a targets brain function, knocking them out for a few hours.

    Mana Lance; The mana lance is a Mid ranged weapon (Optimum 20m, rapid drop off till 25m, then nothing), and projects a beam of concentrated magical energy for up to ten seconds, (Per crystal) The beam can be attuned to a specific type of magic (Basic only, IE fire, light, dark, lightning, healing. NOT anything beyond the basic circles) it has a internal clip of Mana Crystals which can be exchanged as a normal clip system, the mana crystals do not have to be attuned, as the lance itself has a much simpler version of the alignment system within his axe. Each clip carries six crystals. though a full sixty second continuous beam is unadvisable, as the weapon can overheat.

    Long Biography
    Before 'The black gate' was ever created, There was a young man, who while he owned a house and had a satisfying life, Struggled to find anyone who could match his tastes, and so, Living in a world like Lucis, full of magical and mythical creatures, he struck a deal with a Supernatural being, A greater Demon to be precise. The demon would ensure several things for the young man, That his family would always own the house, That his house would always exist, and that he would find a suitable wife. The demon, seeing this mans soul decided it was not worth agreeing, However, The man offered him the soul of one of his children, 3 daughters and 1 son to be precise, The demon's choice, he was so desperate that his name not be forgotten, The demon, enticed by the offer. Agreed. And so time passed the man found a wife and they settled down, They had children, and time came and went. The man, not having seen the demon since, thought that he'd forgotten the deal. However, The demon had not. 4 days before his first daughters wedding, The demon approached the man, and said "I would like the soul of your first daughter." The man flatly refused, and so the demon went away. The man felt as if he had won, cheated the demon. 3 days before The second daughters wedding, the same happened, The man felt as if he had to only refuse 1 last time to win. However, The night before the 3rd daughters wedding, The daughter came to her father and asked him to call the wedding off and Let her elope with a man she had fallen in love with. The father agreed, having not seen this man. This man, as you could well guess, Was the Demonl himself. Once again.
    Time came and went, The man passed on, feeling angered that he had been tricked so. The third daughter (and thus the demon) Inherited the house. They had children, 3 sons and a daughter. Time continueds. Now we come to the era of the Black Gate, The gate opened, and in that year 2 things happened, 1 of the sons left through the gate to explore new worlds, rapidly becoming one of the foremost pioneers of introducing Lucis to the modern tech of earth. and one of the few with permission to carry Blueprints and designs through the black gate (No actual tech, Yet). And Leonardo was conceived between the second son and his wife. The house itself was on the ground where the black gate first formed, However due to the generations old deal, It stood fast on its own island, held aloft by the demon power, The same demon who still lived in the house.

    Fast Forward 10 years, Now Leo is 9 years old, His Uncle, whom he is named after, Alexander is still one of the foremost transporters of Technology and Trans-world traders, exchanging magical goods in Lucis for Technology of earth, Now allowed to transport the materials as well as designs He often smuggles bits of tech home for his growing Nephew, as he never had a chance to marry, The Demon, seeing this, tries to surround Leo with fantastic magics. The two grow bitter to each other, Trying to outdo each other in impressiveness, one with technology, The other with magic.
    5 years later, Leo is now 14 years old, 4 years before the present day, Leo finds a piece of crystallized magic, a spell which was canceled halfway through casting, One of his new toys is out of power (A remote control helicopter), so he tries to get it to run on this spell. It becomes a project, and Both without the other being aware, His uncle and The demon aid him in the endeavor, It takes 6 months of hard work, But the first peice of MagiTech is born. A blending of magic and technology. and over this His grandfather, and Uncle find a new goal, Teach the Young Leo to become the first, and greatest MagiTechition. And so Leo's playroom becomes a workshop, Half Alchemical Lab, Half Techo-mancer's research lab. Overloaded with such a possibility The young Leo is encouraged and enticed to learn and grow in new ways in to the role his uncle and Grandfather have set out for him, and He loves it, Not only bringing the two people in his life who meant so much to him together, but doing things, and learning things that neither of them on their own could do. He learns how to engrave magic on to technology to make it last longer, become tougher or even just do something new. He learns how to wire technology to enhance magic and manipulate mana. The years pass by, He creates a Mana-enhancer, Allowing him to cast spells of his own, combining this with a self defence technology his uncle brought back from earth, He created his wave gun. During this, His Father passed way, His father, a magic wielding guardian, left Leo his axe/scythe, in the hope that Leo would follow his footsteps, Leo took the Axe/Scythe and decided to make it his own, he improved it, fused it with technology, repurposed it to his own will, It became his tool, his weapon. slowly he overtook what his Uncle and Grandfather could teach him. and it became that he would only ask them for knowledge or items when he lost his own way, He began to do things they could not understand. It was then, They realised that he had fulfilled the path they had set for him. It was then, he got the letter to attend The Academy Of The Arcane Artes.

    Leo is incongruous in his personality when looked at from a overall point of view much like the first assumption of his skills, though like his skills it seems to fall in to place easily and work together. While warm and friendly he dose not take kindly to fools or those trying to make fools of others. and he often treats those who he sees as fools with scathing sarcasm and cynical sharpness.

    Due to the dual nature of leo's equipment and abilities he does not gain any specific strengths either, IE; Someone skilled at magic can use highly powerful and complex spells, or someone who as grown up surrounded by computers could be able to hack. Leo cannot do such things, He must rely on his own Arcane Technomancy and often cannot 'borrow' from others.
    Non-Alignment, Due to the fact he has no direct natural magical alignment other than that to his grandfather he lacks a natural defence from magic, He can cast counterspells, or use his weapons to block, but he does not have a resistance to any specific element (EG a earth golem would be almost immune to lightning ect.).

    Magic-translation; Most magic when cast requires a incantation, or produces a magic circle. And more often than not this is in some strange tongue. Due to years and years of working with magic and combining it with Tech he can read, translate, and dissect a magic spell/circle a few seconds before it is cast, understanding what the spell will do, Clearly the faster the spell, the harder this is.
    Technological understanding; The technological version of Magic-Translation, the ability to observe, and understand tech simply by examining it, This however does not confer the ability to say hack passwords or keypads. This is much more on a hardware scale than software, if someone showed him the binary of a computer he'd not understand, if they showed him a chipboard, he'd be able to tell them everything about it.

    Mary fears being powerless. She once saw a servant from her family get fired for one of her mistakes, and she could do nothing to save him. If she see's something wrong, regardless of if she even knows what it's about, she's going try to stop it or save whoever is getting hurt. As for Weaknesses, Mary is a very idealistic kid and thinks that everyone has some sort of honor that they live by. Even the most roguish of characters would never stoop to real evil if they have a choice, or even if they don't. Her naivety protects her innocence, but makes her vulnerable to truly horrible people. As for limits, outside her robots, she's just a little girl. Not even a particularly strong one. Energetic and good at running, but she's not athlete and relies heavily on her robots for any form of damage dealing or protection. She's not even good with any particular weapon.

    Tech Savant - Mary has a supernatural sense when it comes to operating machines. As long as she can get a general idea of what does what, she can quickly become competent and operating various machines and vehicles with very little practice or training beforehand. Even with crude materials like stone and wood, she can make machines out of it. She just needs a lot of time and a lot of material.

    Ralthavar came to the Academy with not only a lot on his shoulder, but with a horde of at least a hundred other orcs he is expected to be the leader of. However despite how heavily armed his horde is, Ralthavar did not arrive to take over the school; he comes with hope that he can lead his people to glory through the Academy, taking in what knowledge they came from here to enrich their homes back at Lucis. Their general war-like mentality and lifestyle is simply their culture, though Ralthavar is well aware that not everyone shares his people's appreciation or interest, so he does his best to control the orcs and make sure they don't get themselves into trouble.

    Rathavar may look the part of the intimating witch doctor, and he himself embraces this imagery, if you can get past the bigotry you'd find that Ralthavar is a well-spoken individual who simply embraces his heritage, but at the same time struggles to try to find a place for his kind in this new world, one that isn't antagonistic. To that end Ralthavar himself is a rather tolerant person who would try to bring together as many people as he can, regardless of race or attitudes. Not to say that he isn't without his anger, but he controls his rage rather than let it speak for itself.

    When it comes to combat, Ralthavar is fairly well rounded. He has embraced both orc's ferocity and brutal efficiency in melee combat, but also took the time to cover his bases with magical training as well as gun fighting. While not perfect in the sense that he is unstoppable, he does well to ensure that he doesn't have any weaknesses to exploit. He more familiar with melee combat than he does with magic or guns, but you'd be a fool if you think he can't use all three. That being said, it's outside the battle that Ralthavar is weakest; he must take responsibility for his horde of orcs, most of whom who listen to him, but they themselves are lead by their passions and emotions. And Ralthavar cannot simply stand idly by if they cause trouble, forcing him to come into conflict with anyone who has problems with his orcs.

    Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits
    Ralthavar had the good fortunate to have the opportunity to be trained by various masters of various skills, as well as his own innate talent that woudl allow him to increase the rate in which he learns. Ralthavar himself is said to be a quick study and good at imitating others, though he still requires education to truly understand the full extent of what he does. His specif abilities are the following:

    Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Raised in the ways of the Barbarian, Ralthavar is skilled in the use of their weapons and armor. While he favors certain weapons over others, he can competently use all of them.

    Marksman: Firearms have been introduced to his lands, and he did not hesitate to take up lessons in using them. He finds pistols to be underwhelming for their cost, and prefers shotguns for their versatility as well as power. He has various shotgun shells for different scenarios, from buckshot to dragon's breath, to slugs and flechette.

    Craft Skills: Ralthavar knows how to create just as well as he knows how to destroy. Specifically, Rathavar is a knowledgeable Armour and Weapon Smith, capable of working metal, stone, wood, or bone into a variety of deadly tools. He also has a natch for enchanting, giving his weapons magical qualities with the right rituals, incantations, and supplies.

    Warlock Spells: As mentioned, the power of a Warlock does not lie in the Warlock himself but from an outside source. The spells and strength can vary, though commonly he gets his powers from his staff, which itself can gain powers from the skulls attached to it; the skulls formerly belonged to other mage types, and through his staff he can use their skulls to channel their magic into him. There Current Skulls are that of a Necromancer, Enchanter, and a Priest.

    Resilience: And if all else fails, Ralthavar is a very hardy fellow. He weathers the storm and can keep inner peace with himself even during his most violent rages. His determination and refusal for a simple defeat has won him many victories, and if that is not possible, at least he'll have a glorious end.

    As an alchemist, many of Sanna's 'weapons' are disposable. She may carry a rucksack containing a wide array of "explosive balls" (as Sanna likes to call them...), but they all have one thing in common: They all go boom. The bombs are tuned to be precise due to the possibility of damaging an ally during combat: The bombs vary from straight, conical, to radial line of fire – And the window frame between trigger and explosion is adjustable. The bombs are also variable in nature, from concussive to fiery, to disabling without real harm. Sanna has a one-track mind when in comes to alchemy and the sciences. Bombs are terrible for close-range combat. She has utilities that distract an attacker for her to add distance or flee, but ineffective in the long-term.

    The Voidlings come from many different races and share no similarities except for one: they have been unfortunate to catch the attention of those vastly their betters. The effects of even a small amount of Void power can mutate the affected into great monstrosities, leave them unchanged, or anything in between. The effects can be somewhat directed on the whims of the Voidkin, but are still unpredictable even then, As such the cases of the Voidlings are unique to the individual. Like the touch of a Voidkin though, they are all branded with a sigil that marks them out, with each sign being unique to a being.

    For Raule, the results were minor appearance changes. His ears elongated drastically while his hair was bleached a snow white. His nails naturally sharpened until it was more accurate to call them claws and his eyes are now red, and glow a soft crimson in the dark.
    Voidkin
    These paradoxical beings for the most part are still largely shrouded in mystery, if only because they so rarely bother to interact with the worlds. Even then most of their interactions seem to be limited to spreading their power at random, infusing individuals with mere drops of their energy. What is known is that each individual seems to hold great power, twisting and distorting reality with each appearance they make in the world. Thankfully, Voidkin do not seem to be malevolent as their vast powers would no doubt be capable of destruction on an apocalyptic scale. This means little when the powers they wield are so destructive and uncontained that entire landscapes have disappeared with their appearance.

    Dark Brawler
    A deadly close quarter combatant that specializes in unarmed styles mixed with the natural energies, both Void and human, that flows through the user’s body. Capable of reinforcing their bodies to superhuman levels, they shrug off mighty blows while returning them in kind. Their Void energy results in powerful, but self-destructive bursts of power that allow them to erase enemies in their way before their bodies begin to erode from within.

    Finding a material that was able to withstand the Void’s energy was not an easy a task. He was forced to venture far beyond the safety zones of the Black Gale. Finding a smith that could work it was even harder. It took a master blacksmith who had adopted the advanced technologies of Earth to melt and shape the material.

    His weapons are a pair of claw-tipped gauntlets, and sharpened greaves; the front is shaped into a sharp cutting edge and is a bit heavier than regular pieces as a result. The metal is a white-grey in coloration. The gauntlets are covered in a perpetual layer of frost, and leave frost crystals in the air with their passing. The greaves on the other hand crackle with electricity, sparks and arcs often dancing around the pair. Their effects are potent on their own, but when Raule taps into the energies of Void, the material within actually creates a resonance. It not only resists the eroding effects, but actually amplifies its effects. As it is in an alloy mix, Raule’s Void is not bolstered, but the elemental effects experience an amplification.

    Short Biography
    A fairly closed lip is kept when it comes to Raule’s whereabouts prior to his time at the Academy. As far as anybody knows he survived and was changed by an encounter with a Voidkin when he was 13. The small town and surrounding forest he called home was not so fortunate and erased from existence, a massive crater left in its place. What occurred in the two years prior to his arrival at the Academy is still anyone’s guess, but he’s attended it for the last five years successfully.
    Personality
    Despite his appearance and “race”, Raule enjoys the days he can spend without the company of his weapons. Flexible and tolerant, he goes with the flow rather easily amongst his acquaintances. He doesn’t have many friends due to his quiet nature, but of those he has he is loyal to and more than willing to share life’s experiences with. Not overly cheerful or enthusiastic, Raule is more reserved about how he expresses his happiness. Not just his happiness either as he’s fairly reserved when it comes to expressing himself. Reliable and responsive though, he’s the type of person to take things into his own hands rather than wait for others, but he’ll never try and stand in the spotlight.

    Strictly a close-ranged fighter, if kept at a distance there’s not much Raule can do to his opponents. His reach with Void-based abilities extend a bit past, but only a dozen feet or so.
    While he’s fairly good at managing his limits, overuse of Void energy will erode his body despite its innate resistance. His eyes will begin to glow a blood red once the threshold has been reached.
    Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits
    Physically more able than a human, even without tapping into internal sources of power. He’s stronger, faster, more durable, and overall just better.
    His existence, like all other Voidkins, is an anomaly. While he still requires sleep and does age, many of his biological needs are no longer that. The Void essentially constantly purges his body of external influences and sustains him in their absence. He requires no sustenance and has a high resistance to poisons, toxins, and diseases. At the same time, magic that influences one’s internals such as telepathy or mental illusions are quickly broken against Raule. Sadly, beneficial magics, such as healings or blessings, are also rendered ineffective for him. Magic with enough power behind it will punch through the Void’s effects, but its effects will be reduced.
    Void energy is highly destructive to put mildly. If it exists, the Void will try and fix that and leave nothing in its passing. Matter, energy, even spiritual existences are all touchable with the paradoxical energy.
    As befitting of his class designation, Raule is an experienced warrior. He fares well in messy melees, but shines in combat against individuals. Despite still attending the Academy, he’s already seen his fair share of ventures into the Black Gale. The fact that he has returned alive speaks enough.

    Vampire - Vampires are a species found few and in between, yet widespread, commonly found wherever human civilizations are - except, they're not too easy to find, as they easily blend in. Some have come to Earth, though there isn't much documentation on how many, considering they easily hide within the millions of humans there. They may also sometimes live among other civilized creatures in Lucius, while passing as the weaker human species. Vampires usually must live within a large population in order to feed on the unsuspecting, however, not all do. Certain vampires of Lucius may have a taste for different bloods of different creatures, and few - Lilith, for example - refuse to feed off of sapient beings, and as a result only drink the blood of the mindless and the already-dead. Although, even if worn or broken, they regrow in a matter of days. All vampires are sensitive to sunlight, and do get burned if put in it too long. Another thing to know is that they can reproduce like humans to have vampire offspring, or bite a human with the will to turn them. Vampires have unknown lifespans, but do age slowly, sometimes for over a hundred years. They can learn a variety of magic, but most have an affinity for the more sinister types.

    Class
    Necromancer - She can 'bring up' the dead to do her bidding, although not as simply as one may think. Lilth must first 'scan' the area about her for either the ghosts or corpses of any who had died anywhere nearby, and only if there are any, can she use them for what she pleases. If there are any corpses buried in the dirt near by, they can be brought up from the earth and reanimated. Larger corpses that have not completely rotted are best for use in fighting, to physically attack enemies in the likeness of zombies, or for use as meat shields. Ghosts appear in a bloblike, glowing ethereal form and cannot be physically be destroyed, but of course can be 'killed' with certain forms of magic and dissipate. Or, if their master breaks 'hold' of them either intentionally or accidentally losing mental concentration, then the ghosts will disappear. The master is directly connected with the undead - the more magical skill they have, the stronger the things they summon are. Animated corpses remain 'alive' until they are physically too damaged to move. Ghosts use simple attack spells that are ranged bolts of energy that are quite painful, and leave behind a burn of varied degrees.

    Short Biography
    Lilith was the youngest of six. Her family in particular was a privileged one, having made their way up in the ranks and residing in a lavish manor at the edge of a brimming town somewhere in Lucius. A manor that had boarded windows, a tall locked fence surrounding it along with dense woodland, and a sign that said "Keep Out", because even after a while, her parents wanted to stay there - but according to their neighbors, they were long dead, as normal humans should be after more than a hundred years. Lilith spent the her days counting the roses in the garden, playing games with her siblings throughout the halls, lazily snoozing away, reading every last book in the grand library, wandering the graveyard at midnight practicing some questionable arts, creating a few hundred paintings or so - until one night, a raven dropped by. She gladly accepted the offer to join the academy, interested to see what the rest of the universe was like...

    Personality
    Generally is a quiet one, often deep in thought, and usually curious about anything and everything. She appears rather withdrawn and shy most of the time, but when she opens up to somebody, she is often cynical and sarcastic in her words. She speaks politely to anyone she has just met, and expresses little in her facial expressions. She is well versed in knowledge, having read so often throughout her years, and enjoys learning of new things. However, she has low confidence and self-opinion, and does not think highly of herself, which is apparent in her cautious actions and decisions. Socially, she is not well experienced, and does not talk to somebody unless they talk to her first.

    She is built physically weak and small, and close combat is not an option for her. One thing to note that if Lilith is too tired, or had been deprived of blood for a while, it will become too mentally and physically taxing for her to summon the undead. She has no other defenses save for her magic, and is dependent on the undead in combat, or her own fleet flooted-ness. It is not hard to overtake her if she is cornered and unable to cast.
    Lilith also has a hidden phobia of 'disappearing'. She developed this fear shortly after learning necromancy - after finding the dead in several places where it would be absurd to think there were somebody dead beneath your feet, and learning that there are thousands of lost souls ten feet under who will never have a gravestone, never be remembered, never be known or noticed, whose names are forever gone. In essence, she fears becoming like the undead she summons.
    As with all vampires, she cannot be in direct sunlight for too long or risk burning herself. Lilith usually ends up wearing long clothing, hats, or veils, even if it is uncomfortably warm.

    Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits
    Lilith is light on her feet and is a nimble runner. She can be rather stealthy and quiet.
    Her hobby is drawing and painting, and it is a common pastime for her.
    And though already mentioned, although she is a vampire, she only drinks the blood of non-sapient creatures, and feeds only when absolutely necessary. She feels rather uncomfortable with the prospect of drinking the blood of anyone that can think intelligently or have a personality. She will, however, feed without hesitation if said being was already dead. Or if it were to save her own life, or end the life of an enemy, but god forbid that she would end up in such desperate situations.

    Ok, Here's the best image I could find. I somehow found something. Problem is it doesn't have wings and the armor looks stupid, as well as the angle being pretty bad for a character picture. So I guess I will still do a desc. along with this.
    Ark stands at about 6 feet tall, which is relatively average size for a draconian. His scales are a pristine white, with an *insert wingspan here because I honestly cant bother to think at 2 in the morning, though I may change this later*. He usually wears some sort of a cloak and armor (probably some form of the armor in the picture, minus the weapons, things on his arms, and thing on his neck) or a long shirt and pants, varying between red, white, and grey. His eye color is a dull grey, which is actually quite common in light draconians. He keeps his quiver of arrows at his side rather than on his back because, well, we can't have a quiver of arrows preventing his flight, can we?

    Light Draconian. Draconians are half human and half dragon. There are 8 types of Draconian, each of these draconian tribes have scales with a color that correspond to a magical element, which they can control. The most common Draconian tribes are Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Lightning. On August 1st, the Draconians hold a ceremony as ancient as the Draconians themselves. During this ceremony, Draconian eggs are offered up to become that of pure light. Though, very few actually become light draconian eggs. The Draconians tend to retain their original elemental powers from their tribe.

    Draconic Archer- The draconic archer carries a bow like any normal archer, though, given the fact that Draconians can fly and use elemental magic, the draconic archer is able to do so much more. Draconic archers are able to combine their elemental powers with their arrows and flight, allowing them to strike from afar with deadly power and accuracy. Draconic archers are also proficient in using daggers for hand to hand combat, though few can use their magic for much more than lighting arrows on fire.

    Short Biography
    Ark was an orphan. His parents died before he was born, even before the ceremony. He was originally from the fire tribe, but he was born as a light draconian. An old friend of his parents had asked if she could raise him, but, due to the fact that he was a light draconian, and not fire, the church would not let her touch him. (around this time the Draconians are extremely religious) Due to his unlucky early life, he grew up mostly on the streets, as most priests or oracles couldn't stand him. At some point he ended up training with an old Archer, who taught Ark everything he knows. His reason for going to the academy is unknown.


    Personality
    Ark is the serious "Get it done, then leave me alone" type of guy, at least, that is how he acts around most people. He doesn't like messing around, and just wants to get things done, and so, he acts pretty grumpy most of the time. I will probably have him mellow out over the course of the RP.

    Ark has a fear of Ice, and is actually weakened by it. He doesn't like water that much, though, he kinda had to get over that. Ark hates darkness, and never sleeps in the dark because of it. He despises dark magic, evil, and especially vampires. Ark is bad at using fire magic for more than lighting things on fire (AKA, no fireballs). His light magic is limited to adding a blinding effect to his arrows, or changing the light levels in small areas.

    Strange Attributes/Abilities/Traits
    Ark has an ability that allows him to sort of "Zoom in/out" his vision. This ability is a take on clairvoyance, which allows the user to see beyond their line of sight.
