If the "mildest reaction" you can think of involves attacking someone, there's probably something wrong here.

Sorin's White is in his sense of duty and willingness to protect groups that contain himself (e.g. Innistradi vampires, all life in the Multiverse). In that respect, he's ruthless yet noble, but in just about every other respect he's a self-serving hedonist.

... I don't know what you expect us to do.

He's outright admitted to killing people for his own benefits. Not even fighting them or anything. Not feeding off of his enemies.

I honestly have no clue what Saber can do now without her immediately confronting him about how he's effectively bragging about killing people. He's basically said he kills and eats people and doesn't feel remorse or try and, I don't know, feed without killing or something.

I have no idea what I can do with Saber that isn't confronting him and likely ending up trying to kill him. There's nothing else I can even think of that's IC.

I don't expect you to do anything. I didn't start this discussion. Just play your characters, how you do so is up to you.

Would have been better if you'd just edited so Sorin didn't commit suicide.

I really honestly don't even want to do this.

But Saber is basically "Lawful Good" exemplified in terms of Servants and talking about how you murder people cheerfully is not something I can just have her brush off.

Ba'als current opinion summed up nicely

But yeah, I'm staying clear of this fight. Have fun trying to kill each other.

And Archer has served with the Burial Squad, is anti-vampire because vampires serve Gaia and Counter Guardians serve Alaya, and is more Shirou than not (especially as this is post-UBW)

It's like wandering into a conference for vegan knights and declaring animals are irrelevant tastiness.

Sorin is, if anything, Chaotic Neutral. But Archer and Saber are jumping to conclusions based on having a miniscule fraction of the story and a considerable amount of bias.

Regardless, I'll see if we can't diffuse the situation.

...Okay I call bullshit. Even if Sorin somehow can seemingly effortlessly fight two Servants at the same time, then it means that there's no way he isn't too powerful to be in this.

...Did you read my post? He knows he can't fight both of them, and is trying to get them to back off. Or at least stall until he can think of a better plan.

Would like to ask people to stop deliberately egging their characters on to make confrontations like this from happening. Arguments are fine and all for characters, but fights such as these are going to end up as huge cluserf*cks and I would like to avoid them if at all possible.

... Uh... okay, I understand you don't want your character to be killed... which could have been avoided so easily by just saying something different instead of saying you kill people, something everyone wanted because no-one wanted to get in this fight...

But there are other ways to avoid the attacks that are at least a bit less completely ridiculous. It's mentioned in both Saber and Archer's bios that they're Servants who are vastly stronger and faster then human beings, and in Saber's case she is probably the second most skilled swordsman in the Nasuverse and one of the overall best Servants, and best Saber. Archer is pretty incredibly good if he's not as good as Saber.

I could understand if one of them as attacking, but both? So effortlessly? As a player character? I figured Servants would probably be on the upper level of power levels for player characters in this, since you can still throw stuff at them that's difficult that they'll struggle with, but a player character who can deflect the blows of two Servants at the same time with no real effort involved? Who's so fast he thinks their movements are "painfully slow"?

You could just... I don't know, have him dodge and nearly get hit. It's improbable but much less ridiculous then unsheathing a sword and deflecting them both effortlessly.

Or we could have changed a few lines of dialogue and have this entire scenario never happen. This would have been the easiest thing to avoid. I didn't want to do it, Rain didn't want to do it, you didn't seem to want to do it and there's no reason for Sorin to think it's a good idea to walk up to a bunch of people he barely knows and brag about how he murders people. He could have even just fudged it a bit and said he does it only to his enemies or something. Or proposed it hypothetically or something.

I said multiple times I didn't want to do this but had no choice given that it'd be OOC if I did otherwise.

Yeah. Saber and Archer are now trying to murder Sorin for being a general evil jerk who previously zombified dragons, summoned a demon, summoned underlings to die without a backwards glance, and just told them that he goes around killing people to live, without making any effort to specify that most of the people he does that to are his enemies.

And straight up admitting he's a vampire to Vash in an attempt to break him. It's sad that Nobuo is perhaps the only person trying to defuse the situation.

Let's call it "superior technique and experience." Sorin has been fighting with a sword for six-thousand years. Saber has existed for only about fifteen-hundred years. Factor in that Sorin too has superhuman fighting ability, and we can wave away a parry.

What I do find ridiculous, though, is the expectation that I'm apparently supposed to tailor my roleplaying around the fact that your characters have the irresistible urge to wantonly murder party members as they see fit. As much as you keep saying that you didn't want to do this, you still kind of... did. You can say that to not kill him at this point would be out of character, but I doubt "delves into a mindless killing frenzy at the implication of something evil afoot" is a trait of either character.

Anyway, this can still be worked around. Sorin's explaination (deliberately OOC, accidentally IC) should have struck a nerve with Saber. Perhaps reminding her of her own hardships will stay her blade long enough for this to develop into a tense (yet bloodless) argument.

As far as Archer goes, I'm at a loss. The player historically refuses to listen to anything I say, so the character likely will not, either. Any attempt to reason with either one is probably a wasted effort.

You don't get to declare yourself a better swordfighter than the character whose abilities are nothing but hitting things with a sword, simply because your character's older. This isn't how things work.

The sum totality of tailoring asked for was 'please don't announce you're a sociopath serial killer'. You're having Sorin display all the self-preservation of a kumquat. If you go up to a holy knight and say 'I eat people', do you really think they're going to shrug it off?

The Parasite Blade also consumes magic, perhaps draining the supernatural force from their attacks.

The latter is your characters starting a conflict where there wasn't one. Inwas just trying to screw with Vash. The Servants were the ones starting a miniature crusade. Apparently I either have to fit the whims of other players or be attacked in-character for it?

This was going to happen sooner or later. Honestly better that they just hear it from the man rather than catch him in the act of feeding.

Your character has displayed superior melee abilities, and superior magic and basically superior everything, even when it wasn't listed in your bio. You have also added abilities that were not listed in the bio. At the moment you have made your character into the most powerful in the RP who, given what you say he can do, shouldn't have struggled with anything even slightly.

He should not be better at melee then two people who can pretty much only do melee, one of whom is King Arthur.

Also, "wanton urge to murder random party members"? Let's see... dislike and suspicion directed towards some of the more evil-seeming ones... and in one case where the character's actions threatened to kill everyone involved, Archer actually killed him. Your character has repeatedly done things that make hims seem ridiculously suspicious and callous, and then outright says he kills people to live with no effort to point out that it's only his enemies, even if that's a lie it's far more intelligent then saying he's a murderer in front of people he has no idea how they will react.

In fact, why would they treat him different because he's a "party member"? Any character who brags about murder and does all the crap Sorin has done would be subjected to attempts to kill them.

Why should we completely violate our characters' concepts to bend over backwards so you can keep in a line of dialogue? We shouldn't have to.

It's even worse for Archer, who is extremely dedicated to the "kill one to save a hundred" ideal and that sort of thing basically forms a huge amount of his character.
