"Bye mom, got a world to go save!" Tori said as she raced by the kitchen where her mother currently was reading the newspaper. Artemis looked up and stared at the lopsided grin that her daughter just flashed her before racing out of the house. 'She is so the daughter of Wally...' Artemis thought.
Star, a.k.a. Shooting Star a.k.a. Tori, sped through the different streets on her way to meet the current Flash, Bart Allen, to help her mentor with an armed bank robbery happening. "Well, well, well if it isn't Ms. Speedy herself." Flash said with a grin. "Hello to you to Uncle B-Flash" Star said catching herself before saying his actual name. "Well let's get to it." Flash said as he and Star sped into the bank. Flash was currently running around the robbers distracting them as Star sped hostages out. She had gotten all of them out except a mother and her baby when the robbers finally noticed her. "Flash you get the woman and I'll get the baby." Star stated before picking up the baby and speeding away holding the baby close to her. Gun shots could be heard hitting the floor where she had just run by one second ago. Star ran towards the door and was almost there when a robber decided to swing a metal pole towards her. Star slid under the pole with it barely missing her as she ran forward. She brought the baby to the mother and sped back inside with Flash. Together they beat up the robbers only receiving a few bruises each from the robbers but neither was worried since they both had high metabolisms.
Flash and Star posed for the cameras and answered a few questions for the news crew like the very outgoing people they were. Then Flash turned to Star and began to talk in high speeds to a point where only she could truly understand him. "You should head home and shower and of course eat before meeting up with the team later today. Don't be late!" Flash said a super speed. Star smirked and nodded. "Wouldn't miss it for the world!" She exclaimed at equal speed to the Flash. With that Star sped home and took a shower before eating lunch with her mother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tori changed out of her lounging clothes and into a pair of skinny jeans, a tight yellow under tee shirt, and a lose red shirt that hug over her shoulders and read 'Voltage' on the front with a lightning bolt underneath it. After Tori slipped on a pair of black combat boots she went to work at trying to fix her crazy red hair. After what seemed like forever she called to her mom to help her. Artemis came in and helped tame her daughters wild red locks back to their normal beach waves and smiled handing Tori a box. "What is this?" Tori asked eyeing her mother carefully. "Open it and you'll see" Artemis said with a smile. Tori opened a box and saw a black choker necklace with a silver locket built on it. She opened the locket and was greeted with her father's grinning face. Tori's eyes became teary and they slipped down her cheek as she read the quote that the team thought was some of Wally's best words that ever came out of his talkative, annoying mouth, "It doesn't matter how many fall. For new heroes, will always rise to carry on." Tori tackled her mother in a hug and put the necklace on. "Thanks mom. I just wish I could have met him..." She says with a sigh. "I wish you could have too. Now hurry or you will be late.
With that Tori sprinted to a Zeta Beam and was transported to the cave. "Recognized Shooting Star. C01." The computer said. Tori looked around and was thankful she was one of the first here and not one of the last. Tori walked over to couch and plopped down staring up at the ceiling and waiting for more people to arrive, her emerald green eyes darkened as she fell deeper into thought, her fingers playing with her new choker the whole time.
Hector was watching the news. It seemed that criminal had taken a hostage and was making demands for $500,000 dollars. Hector simply went on his computer and accessed his internet, specifically his bank account. He then placed both his hands on his computer and increased the amount of money to his account by $500,000 dollars. Hector transferred the amount to the account of the hostage taker. The hostage taker did know a few things. His account was an offshore bank account, thus the officials wouldn’t be able lock it down. Still such things didn’t matter to Hector, for he had planted not one but two bugs. The first was his own bug using his own hacking code. The second was one was from his own powers. Despite having powers Hector practice his coding and hacking skills, not wanting to rely on his powers to much and if he should ever lose them he would still have a few skills left.
He then continued to watch T.V. while still hacking, trying to trace the device that was monitoring his account. The criminal was now running away, he had ditch the hostage and had even lost the cops in a building. If Hector could find the device, he could then trace it and signal its location to the police. After a few minutes it seemed he wasn’t making any progress. “Analyze, progress isn’t being made. Suggestion, use your powers.” said C.A.I.S. as Hector heard her voice in his head. “Very well.” said Hector and thus he used his powers to get pass several firewalls and implanted the bug on the guys device which began to broadcast his position. Now it was all up the cops. Even if the man did get away it would not matter for when he access his account, his location would be broadcast again and the money would return back to its original account. Yet it seemed Hector failsafe wasn’t need and the cops soon found the criminal location due to broadcasting signal. The man was then arrested. After watching for a few moments Hector then transferred the money back to where it originally came from.
“Joke, that criminal plan got hack apart.” said C.A.I.S as she appeared beside him and smiled. “That was terrible.” said Hector after giving her a blank look for a second. “Analyze, I’m still having trouble grasping what you call humor.” said C.A.I.S. as she walk around the room. “The day you make a good joke is the day the world ends.” said Hector as he then got into his bed. “Question, how does me making a good joke connect to the world ending.” asked C.A.I.S. as she place her finger on her chin while starting at Hector. “It’s called a joke.” said Hector as he then closed his eyes and began to attempt to sleep.
Hector yawned as he got up from bed. “Good morning C.A.I.S., good morning Cyborg.” said Hector as he look at his monitor. There was C.A.I.S. standing beside his monitor and Cyborg on his monitor... “WAIT, WHY IS CYBORG ON MY MONITOR?” yelled Hector in shock as he ran towards his monitor. “Hello, Hector, as you just stated, I am Cyborg and I’m here to offer you a spot on a team.” said Cyborg in a calm manner. “How the heck did you hack my computer? I used my commands to make sure I couldn’t be trace or hack.” said Hector in shock as he then touch his computer. “I did have a hard time hacking your computer but after a certain amount of time I was able to but that is not the point. You have excellent skills and if you channel these skills we can turn you into a hero. So what do you say?” ask Cyborg as he then awaited his response. “Statement, Cyborg, hero, can be trusted and could prove useful to both of us.” said C.A.I.S. who moved from one end of Hector monitor to the next. “Alright, I’m in.” said Hector after thinking about it for a moment. “Meet me at these coordinates. You made the right choice.” said Cyborg as he smiled before giving him directions and details.
After talking to Cyborg, Hector made his way to the Zeta Beam and upon speaking the command, he was transported to a Cave. “Recognized Override. C03.” The computer stated. As Hector heard that he realized that probably wasn’t the best code name, after all it sounded like someone had just hacked the system. As he looked around he saw a red hair girl with green eyes playing with a choker. “Hi, I’m override.” said Hector in a shy matter as he introduced himself. He wondered where everyone else was. “Prediction, the rest of the team will probably arrive at a later time.” said C.A.I.S. who only Hector could hear.
Gotham, Burnley Waterfront – 2300 hours last night
‘Seven thugs, three with firearms; one venom user. This was going to be tricky.’
Ghost sat atop a gargoyle, removing the binoculars from his eyes. The young hero glanced back at the church he was perched upon, and then returned his gaze to the scene below. There were seven people in total standing around a truck in an alley below him. Five of them were busy taking unmarked crates off the back of the truck, while the other four were standing guard.”Can I get this one Bats?” Ghost’s head turned towards a second gargoyle on the opposite corner of the church’s tower. All Rick could see was a black mass, but he knew who was there.”I don’t want a repeat of last time.” Was what came back over Ghost’s headset built into his cowl. Ghost wouldn’t usually want to take such a risk, but this one of the few times he had run a mission with the Batman. Usually, Ghost got stuck with Robin as a partner. Tonight was going to be a good night, Rick could feel it.
The great white mass that was Ghost jumped off the gargoyle, grabbing hold of the edges of his cloak and spreading them out, as to glide through the air. After getting himself situated in his glide, Ghost vanished from sight. The invisible hero landed silently on the concrete, edging towards the nearest armed thug. This one was the only one on this side of the truck, so taking him out should be easy enough. Ghost grabbed the man’s throat and slammed a hand over the thug’s mouth, pulling him to the ground. After waiting the amount of time Batman prescribed, Ghost let go and the man fell unconscious. He then grabbed the rifle, and pulled out a few key parts before placing it back on the ground. Then, still invisible, Ghost climbed atop the truck until he was standing over another armed thug, on the opposite side of the truck. Ghost simply slid to a sitting position behind the man, then wrapped his legs around the thug’s throat. Again Ghost waited, and again another thug fell unconsciously against the ground. This time Ghost didn’t bother with the gun, knowing his time being invisible was coming to an end.
A shuriken appeared out of thin air and slammed into the barrel of the final thug’s gun. The criminal cursed, dropping the weapon. Ghost leaped off the front of the truck and landed a knee to the back of the thug’s neck, causing him to fall to the ground and cease moving. Ghost had hit a nerve on the man’s neck. The other thugs turned towards their fallen comrade just as Ghost became visible again.”Well this is awkward.” Ghost proclaimed, forgetting the situation he was in momentarily. The group of thugs dropped their crates, charging forward at Ghost. There was one particularly large man, however, that didn’t move to attack. The figure only stood there, arms crossed, watching. Ghost predicted that was the venom user, and was glad to see he wouldn’t have to deal with him at the same time as the horde of thugs barreling down upon him. Ghost pulled out his baton, and met the charging thugs head on. The melee was messy and chaotic, but Ghost had the upper hand due to his training, and the fact that he was armed while these men were not. The teenage hero grabbed the wrist of one of his attackers, and with one swift movement snapped it. Ghost then sent the bawling man into a nearby wall, ceasing his crying immediately on contact. The next guy was already on top of Ghost, swinging two conjoined fists down at Ghost’s head. Rick ducked under the attack, grabbing the man by the leg and collar, tossing him at a dumpster. ‘That was a bad idea..’The young hero thought to himself, panting after exerting himself in such a way. The last three thugs came at Ghost all at once, hoping to overwhelm the boy. But Ghost kept himself whelmed, as Nightwing had taught during a rare session. Ghost swung his baton, catching a thug’s nose and probably breaking it. Ghost then rolled under one of the men’s legs, sending a kick straight up to every man’s weakest point. ‘Two down, but where’s the third-‘Ghost felt a hard fist hitting the back of his head, and the hero stumbled. Ghost stood up quickly, turning around the face the third thug. Rick jumped up, landing a kick to the man’s temple, causing the final thug to fall to the ground like the rest of his comrades.
Then there were two. Ghost stretched his muscles a bit, turning to face the venom user. Rick could finally analyze the man’s appearance. He had to be almost seven feet tall, and he looked like he could bench press a mountain. The strangest part was that the man was wearing a Mexican wrestling mask.”What, are you late for a costume party?” Ghost taunted, trying to feel the man out. The guy just stood there, however.”You are not Batman.” He had simply, in a Hispanic accent.”Sorry to disappoint you.” A shuriken went flying from Ghost’s hand, at one of the visible pipes connected to the man’s back. The masked man batted the deadly weapon away absently with his hand. Ghost pulled out his knives, and raced towards the mysterious figure. Ghost was about to make contact with the venom addict, when he vanished from thin air.”Your tricks cannot help you.” The masked man said, swinging his arm to the side and catching the invisible Ghost’s head. Ghost became visible once more, kicking his feet helplessly. In one swift movement, the masked man took away Ghost’s knives and dropped them to the ground.”You’re planning to surrender now, right?” Ghost struggled, but to no avail.”You are nothing to me, child. Less than nothing.” The masked man slammed Ghost against the wall of a building in the alley.”You’re just some druggy looking to make a quick buck. If you stopped using that venom I could beat yo-“The masked man slammed a fist into Ghost’s gut, causing Rick to cease his threats.”Do you know who I am, child? Do you know who you threaten? I am Bane!” Bane reeled a fist back, preparing to smash Ghost’s face in.
Then there was a flash, and Bane dropped Ghost. The teenaged hero immediately turned invisible, and stumbled away from Bane and out into the street. When Rick looked back towards Bane, he saw that Batman was engaging the villain in combat. The two legends were battling it out, and Rick couldn’t help but stand there and watch. The fight went on for a few minutes without any particular fighter gaining the upper hand. Until Bane landed a lucky right hook to Batman’s chest, sending the dark knight reeling backwards. Then came the sound of sirens.”We’ll have to finish this another time, Batman.” With that, Bane was gone.”Aren’t you going to go after him?” Ghost said as he ran up to the now standing Batman.”No.” Was the simple reply, as Batman grappled his way onto a rooftop. Ghost quickly followed, however.”What do you mean no? Why not?!” Rick said to the Bat, a bit flustered.”You were never suppose to catch him.” Batman said, as if there wasn’t a problem to his statement.”Care to elaborate?” Ghost finally asked, growing tired of Batman’s mystery.”The purpose of this mission was to show you that you can’t do everything. You’re not as good as you think you are.” Under his mask, Rick’s face grew red and hot. The whole fight had been a set up.”Get some sleep. You need to meet with the team later today.” With that, the Batman was gone. Ghost glanced down at his watch. 0100 hours. It was already 1:00 AM?
Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
“Urgghhh..Shut up!” Rick slammed his fist onto the alarm clock, silencing it. He was about to roll over and fall back asleep when his communicator beeped as well.”Get up.” Came a young and far too awake voice.”Tim..Come on..It’s like six in the morning..” Rick protested.”Actually, it’s almost one. Now get up and get to the team’s cave.” With that, the communicator clicked off. Rick pushed himself off the bed and into a standing position, shambling over to his dresser. Rick pulled on his usual casual attire, a pair of navy cargo pants, a brown jacket, and a drab green tee. Rick didn’t bother looked in the mirror as he ruffled his mess of blonde air and slipped on his sneakers. Lastly, Rick strapped on his black backpack that held all his gear and his costume. With that, Monroe was out the window of his foster parents’ house and off to the nearest zeta beam station. Rick didn’t even give his fosters a second thought as he entered an old telephone booth in an alleyway.”Recognized, Ghost. C12.” Rick walked into the cave, throwing his hands into the air.”Hey everybody!” He yelled. Rick’s excited manner deflated as he noticed there were only two people around.”Uhh..Red? Who’s this guy?” Rick shot a thumb towards Hector as he walked up to the two of them, leaning on the back of the couch.
"Hurry the hell up and put the money in the bag!" Yelled the masked man wielding an assault rifle, it being pointed at the woman behind the counter.The bank was washed over a fear induced silence, the only sounds being the yelling of the gunman and the hushed whimpers of the teller as she fumbled to fill the bag with money. "Come on Mack the police are already on their way!" Shouted the other masked man, armed with a 9mm pistol, who stood watch at the door. "Shut up Larry, I know that already!" The masked man, now known as Mack, blasted back at his partner, Larry. The teller then handed the duffle bag, her hands shaking with fear, to the man who still had his rifle pointed dead at her. Mack greedily at grabbed the bag. "Bout damn time!" He shouted at the teller before a cruel laugh escaped from his mouth. "But I have to launch a complaint about your service." He said, with a wicked tone in his voice, while pointing the rifle at the teller's head, moving his finger to the trigger. But just before he could fire the doors of the bank quickly, but silently, flew open and a dark haired boy, dressed in a black vest shirt and pants, strolled in with his head slightly cocked to the side. "What the hell, Larry how'd he get in here?!" Mack screamed and moved his attention away from the teller, who looked as if she was about to be sick. "I-I don't know? He j-just appeared out o-of thin air." Larry stammered as pointed he pointed his pistol at the new arrival. "It doesn't matter! Well kid it looks like you walked into the wrong place at the wrong time, but look on the bright side you're already dressed for your funeral." Mack laughed as he readied his rifle to fire at the boy. A small smirk appeared on the boy's face before he quickly raised his hand towards Larry, sending a series of black strings that wrapped around the hand that held his gun. "W-what the hel-" Was all he could blurt out before the boy pulled the strings bringing the man forward and crashing his face into the boy's knee. Larry slumped to the floor with a moan but made no movements. Mack was shocked for a moment before raising his rifle again, his hands beginning to shake slightly. "You little shi-" Again before the man could finish his sentence the boy gestured his hand forward sending another set of black strings forward, this time they wrapped around the man's legs. The boy pulled and sent the man to his back, a loud thud ringing through the room, before walking over him. The man was in a daze, giving the boy a chance to send the rifle across the room with the wave of a hand. "Ah... you little bastard! Do you know what I'm going to do to you?! I'm gonna..." But Mack was cut off by the boy moving his finger to his lip(his own lip) and Shhing him. Mack was surprised for a moment before the boy brought his foot to the Mack's face leaving him out cold. The boy bound the men back to back to a light pole out side before disappearing into the night.
Seamus walked through the dark streets of Opal city, his vest and dress pants making him stick out among the thuggish people he passed by. Despite how unintimidating the boy seemed everyone he passed stirred clear of him, some flinching as he looked at them. There was murmurs as he strolled along, some containing harsh words while others being praises to Seamus, but the word that was used in each hushed conversation was Whisper. The name that stuck with the young vigilante for his lack of speaking. Seamus was half way to his house before he noticed a white rabbit sitting on the sidewalk in front of him, he smirked some as he causally strolled after the small hare as it hoped into a near by ally. "You know you could just call like a normal person?" Seamus said with a slight laugh in his tone as he addressed the dark haired woman picking up the rabbit. "Where's the showmanship in that?" The woman said as she put the rabbit into her top hat and placed it on top her head. Seamus rolled his eyes and leaned on the near by wall. "So what is it Zatanna? Another demon possession?" He asked making sure his eyes not to stray from the woman's. Zatanna shook her head with a soft smile on her face. "No not this time Seamus. I'm actually here about the offer, have you thought it over?" She asked while arching a brow. Seamus recalled the offer she had gave him a few weeks ago, to join a team of young crime fighters like him, and how he asked for time to think it over. He was never to good with people his own age, not having any real friends at his school, so the thought of working with them constantly put him off some. He recalled the robbery from earlier and how good he felt beating those thugs into submission. Seamus gave a small smile before getting off the wall. "Yeah I did and... yeah. I can't see why not." Zatanna grinned before she spoke. "Great! You won't regret this Seamus I swear." She pulled out a piece of paper from thin air and hand it to Seamus. "Head here when you're ready. You'll get Zetaed to the rest of the team." She smiled before ruffling the boys hair. "See you around Seamus." She then took a bow and vanished. Seamus shook his head and headed out of the ally back towards home, putting the paper into his pocket.
"Boogie's back!" Were the words that greeted Seamus as he walked through the frount door of his family's appartment, which was on the top floor of a tweleve story building. He quickly let out a sigh as his little sisters quickly came and tackled him with a hug, a normal occurence but still killed his dangerous vigilante mood rather quickly. "Did you fight any bad guys?" Sarah asked her green eyes lighting up. "Ohh ohh, were you the one that stop that bank robbery?" Sophie chimed in before Seamus could answer Sarrah. The two girls were identical in every way one could think of, from their curly red hair to their slightly up turned noses. Seamus gave a small smile as he had to pry his sisters off him. He answered the questions as he headed towards the kitchen and grabbed a sandwich from the fridge that was wrapped in plastic with a sticky note with the words "For Seamus love mom" written on it. As he ate the girls decided to tell him about every detail about their day, a form of torture Seamus wouldn't wish on his worst enemy. "Oh and then we... Seamus you know you're still wearing that right?" Sarah broke off from her story to point Seamus' clothes. "Egnahc ym setholc." Seamus spoke between bites then his clothes quickly shifted to a plain black T-shirt and jeans. The girls giggled, as they always loved to see their big brother using magic, before continuing their story. After he was done eating Seamus told his sisters how he was going to be part of a new team of heroes and they nearly blew out Seamus' ear drums with their squeals. At which point he moved himself to his room. It was a small room with three of the walls painted pink, save for one plane white one, that had a set of bunk beds with pink sheets on onside of the room and a single bed with black sheets, it pushed up against the white wall of the room. Seamus made his way to his bed, stepping over a mine field of dolls, and collapsed into it, quickly passing out.
Seamus woke up early the next day, have been dreaming of his new team the whole night, and quickly got himself ready. He showered, brushed his teeth and sat down with his family for breakfeast. "Are you sure about this Seamus? You know how the league can be." His dad said over his cup of coffie. "Oh, you're only saying that because of that time the Flash kicked your butt dad." Sarah and Sophie said in unison, giggling as they ate their cereal. Though he scolded the girls for a moment Richard turned his attention back to Seamus. "Yes Da I'm sure I want to do this." Seamus said after finishing his breakfast, which was a egg and two pieces of toast. After breakfast Seamus gathered his things, mostly just his books that he kept in his satchel, said goodbye to his family, having to force his sisters to let him go, and headed to the Zeta Beam that Zatanna told him about.
"Recognized, Whisper C05." Seamus walked into the cave expecting to see a large squad of superheroes but found three other teenagers like him, something he was grateful for. Don't have to deal with the league just yet. he thought to himself as he walked over to the group of kids already gathering. He gave a small smile to them before holding up a peace sign and saying. "Greetings."
"Come one come all! Watch as I, Samuel Hunter, leave you in awe, stupefied by my sheer illusionary genius." A young black haired teen exclaimed as he he held a magician's top hat on a folding table beside him in a park somewhere in Washington D.C. He was trying to make a little extra cash. Why? For whatever he wanted really. He just felt like doing it. As he drew the crowd he smirked. "Alright everyone if you like what ya see just let me know by leaving a little tip." He said calmly before pulling out a deck of cards. The first man he saw he held the cards to all spread out. "Pick a card sir." The man scoffed but said he would play along. "Show it to the crowd. Memorize. Keep it safe." Samuel said before having him put it back in the deck. He smirked and put the deck in his pocket. The man looked confused for a moment. "Well... What was my card?" He asked waiting for the trick. "Check your pocket." Sam instructed the man who did as told. To his amazement there was a card in his pocket. "Is that your card?" Sam asked with a smirk. The man nodded and showed everyone. It was simple really. When the man slipped the card back into the deck it only took a quick movement and the slight of hand to slip it into the pocket. But Sam wouldn't tell anyone that. He prepared to do another trick when the alarm of a bank went off about a block away. "Um... Sorry folks. i don't think it's safe to continue the show here." Sam announced knowing he had to go.
Sam ran quick taking the money and his hat in the opposite direction. He couldn't make things seem too obvious after all. He just looked like a scared kid running away. However, once he was out of sight he ducked out of the park and into an empty alley. "Alright. Time to go to work." He said before taking a deep breath. "SHAZAM!" He shouted causing a bolt of lightning to strike down on him. In the wake of the lightning bolt no longer stood the teenager known as Samuel Hunter. In his place was Captain Marvel Jr. The next in a long line of guardians of the Eternal Stone. He smirked and shot of the ground Flying at high speed approaching the bank. He caused a huge gust of wind to blow, but he couldn't help it. He needed to hurry..
"You bastards think you can stop ME?! THE BIG MAN?!" A man's voice called out as he picked up a car. He planned to throw it into the bank, but that didn't pan out. Shazam crashed into the huge villain. "Woah! Aren't you usually out fighting Superman big dude?" Jr. Asked as he floated holding the bounty hunter Lobo. "Listen you little runt. The big man's got a job to do and you're in the way!" He shouted the last word as he held up his fists and slammed them into Jr. sending him plummeting into the ground. Soon after Lobo landed on him. "Oh fuck..." Sam scoffed feeling the pain. "Now stay outta the big man's way! He's got business to attend to." Lobo shouted as he turned. "Shazam!" Jr. shouted causing lightning to come down once again only it hit Lobo instead of him. "Heh I'm not one to give up!" Jr. said a she got to his feet. "Alright you little punk. The big man'll make some time for ya." Lobo said as he charged at Jr.
The young hero didn't back down. He charged back at the bounty hunter. However, before any impact was made he was forced to stopped when his hood was pulled and he was forced back as a fist slammed into Lobo's face. "I told you to stop trying to bite of more than you can chew." The true Shazam, Billy Batson said as he sent Lobo Flying into the air with his punch. "We'll talk in a mo..." Before Shazam finished Jr. was on his way into the sky his fist at the ready and covered in Lightning. "I can handle it!" The boy shouted as he punched Lobo in the face just before he could whistle for his bike. The biker however, didn't take as much damage as Jr. had hoped he would. In fact it only took a moment for him to regain his senses and punch back sending the kid plummeting back down. Shazam grit his teeth and the fight with Lobo continued for a while before the bounty hunter was forced to leave.
Shazam and Jr. were on rooftop talking. "You should have listened to me." Shazam said as he lectured his protege. "Okay okay. I get it. I'll be more careful and I'll follow your orders." Jr. said calmly. "No you won't. But thanks for humoring me." Shazam said knowing it would have been a long shot. Jr. just looked at him for a moment before remembering. "Oh hey! What's the news on the team? Is it gonna happen?!" He asked suddenly filled with more energy. Shazam laughed a little. "yeah... In fact I was gonna tell you before the trouble started. The team will be meeting today. Heroes have been recruiting and what not. Oh and you'll be living at the base. It'll be easier then explaining why you live alone in an apartment. So you're stuff it there." The teens mentor explain. "Then what am I doing here?!" Jr. Said before hugging Shazam. "See ya later. I've got a team to meet and I know you need to get back to the Eternal Stone. Just visit some time okay?" He said before flying off. He headed to the nearest Zeta tube and took a breath before looking around. Nobody. "Shazam!" He called out to transform back to his true form. He then entered the zeta tube.
"Recognized. Shazam Jr. C02." It announced just as he entered. "Woah." Samuel said a bit in aww as he looked around. "Oh man this is gonna be great." He said not even having noticed his fellow heroes. He was too overwhelmed. Especially when he considered this would be his new home.
A majestic buck looked up from his place, his nose exhaling vapor. It was a rather chilly morning, with the sun just barely up. The forest was eerily quiet; not even the usual morning birds whistled out their call. A little farther north of the buck, a girl stood on a large rock, a bow in her hand. Her eyes were wrapped with a black bandage; her face turned towards the animal. The girl, Sunny Yeum, removed her coverings, her eyes still closed as the black cloth slipped from her hands and to the leaf-covered ground. The wind suddenly took change, blowing upwind. The buck snapped its' head towards the human scent, its large eyes round. The hunter and the hunted made no sound or movement.
Suddenly, with a motion Sunny had practiced for years, her fingers reached down to her right leg, pulling out an arrow from an attached quiver. The buck bolted into action, quickly fleeing. Her eyes flew open, catching sight of the running animal. The buck, running away from her, seemed like it was right in front of her. She swiftly placed the bow and arrow in position, pulling back hard on the string with ease. With a snap, the arrow sliced through the air, meeting the bucks' lungs. Sunny watched the buck fall down onto the ground dead.
This would be her last hunt in this certain forest. It would be her last kill and her last morning of being just known as Sunny. Ultimately, after her last hunting tournament win, a hero known as Red Arrow had contacted her and her foster parents. 'An offer' he had said with a deadpan face. 'To become a heroine.' Sunny had doubts in joining the league; scared of being away from home and from her usual crowd of friends. Would the other heroes and heroines hate her? Would they find her strange? However, after much deliberation and urging from her foster parents, she had finally agreed.
To be known as something more than just the ‘girl who can shoot well’ was a goal she had longed to achieve. So Sunny willingly let herself be registered as Falcon; which was the only name she could think of at that time.
The very next day, Sunny was given a variety of ‘trick’ arrows to become familiar with. It was cool; she admitted that, because now she could actually do stuff. Over the next week; she had practiced with Red Arrow, which was exciting because he was a very good shot and could actually fight. They had only stopped after her 20 minute limit was up. She would curse, scream, and pout when her eyes burned and refused to see. She didn’t cry because of the pain, but because Sunny felt so restricted. But then she realized, wouldn’t joining the league mean that it was possible for her to cure her ‘blindness?’ Possibly.
And she somehow regretted the choice she had made. A few days later, Sunny was gripping the wall and trying to find that zeta beam with much difficulty. The black bandage was once again wrapped around her eyes. Sunny was dressed in a simple black t-shirt, skinny jeans, and the fingerless gloves she always wore. Her hair was pulled up in a high pony tail, and she carried a duffel bag that contained her loved bow and trick arrows. She cursed under her breath, aggravated by her lack of control over her power. If she could just be able to see, then she wouldn’t have so much trouble. Sunny could only hope that she wasn't late for the meeting. After a few more minutes of intense cursing, she finally found the zeta beam. “Recognized, Falcon C-08.” Then she heard the voices of several teens. Four? Five? All she knew was that she didn't recognize anyone.
Sunny felt herself turn cold as she blankly just stood there. With a slight cough, she cautiously stepped forward a few times, and turned her head to the direction of the voices. Her lips pulled up in a grin as she greeted the others. “Hiya.”
Würzburg, Germany
8:56 PM
The full moon was shining brightly in the skies above the German city know as Würzburg, displaying its beautiful ash grey surface dotted black from the impact of craters. A mountain's peak a good distance away from the city that it overlooked pointed straight toward the moon as if it were creating a waypoint for someone or something. The soulless black night sky covered the skies as if it were a shroud meant to obscure the eyes of the people down below, denying them the sight of the radiant sun. Low feral breaths were heard as heavy footsteps accompanied it, the tracks that were left behind were far from human, they presented toe-pads, whatever it was it had been bipedal. Scraping sounds were created as rock was easily clawed through,the mystery beast's claws embedded themselves into the stone lookout before it was released from the creature's powerful grasp. Rearing up it face the moon, a deafening howl was heard next, loud enough to reverberate around the whole city, still though there had been no signs of alarm from anyone.
The moonlight gave only hints of what was making its presence known, the dark, blackish-brown fur had been barely visible. The muzzle of the beast displayed its perfectly visible, sharp, pearly white teeth. Moving away from the lookout point the beast descended from the mountain, going at what seemed to be a sprinting pace, the earth beneath it was torn and ripped by its claws. Eventually the large beast found itself within the town, watching the people at night with predatory eyes. Catching sight of a man walking, he held a suitcase in hand, dressed in a blue suit with a white undershirt, he was crossing the beast's path directly, unfortunately he hadn't know. A threatening growl escaped the before before it leapt toward the man, knocking him to the ground. The man immediately was clawed, his wounds causing mass trauma to the body, now being on the sidewalk the beast was now visible to everyone driving and walking the street. "Monster! Jemand, rufen Sie die Polizei!" A woman screamed as she pointed at the large creature before running in terror, people began to immediately alert the authorities. The beast sighted a moving car, the driver looked like he desperately wanted to get out of the place. The very moment the car got within range the car was stopped dead in its tracks and lifted into the air, the car was promptly thrown up the street, the driver screamed in fear as he barrelled toward the asphalt from such a high distance.
(This is the transition post to the mission)
"Hi everyone I'm Shooting Star, but you can call me Star. Oh and my real name is Tori!" Tori exclaimed happily as she jumped up to stand by everyone. "Wow this is a lot of people. This is going to be so much fun, I can just feel it in my molecules!" Tori grinned widely at her new teammates before speaking again, "I can't wait to get to know all of you!" She finished. "That will have to wait." A deep voice stated. Tori turned and her vision was met with Batman. "Woah! Hey Uncle D-" Tori started before being cut off. "My real name is a secret Victoria." He said giving her the bat glare that made her shut up. "Now team. I know you don't all know each other well but you will have to meet and greet when you return from your first mission." Batman continued once he reached the computer.
"In Würzburg, Germany there has been an attack by a wolf-type monster that we believe is the young hero known as Wolf. We believe something has caused him to become uncontrollable and we need you to figure it out. Go to the auto pilot jet in the hanger and get suited up. This is your first mission to prove to us what you can do." Batman stated before disappearing through the Zeta Tube. Tori smiled and created a small tornado, changing into her costume. When she finished she placed her goggles on her head acting as a headband until it is needed. "So ready for this!!!" Star exclaimed running to the jet and sitting towards the front taking everything in and waiting for everyone else.
Rick whipped around as he heard the zeta tube acknowledge someone activating it. “Hello there.” Monroe waved to the new comer, almost immediately recognizing the black haired boy’s face as one he’d seen on various reports, as well as television.”You’re that new sorcerer dude from Opal.” Rick said, shaking a finger at the guy. Then the zeta beam went off again, and someone else stepped inside the cave. Rick looked the guy over, and he couldn’t place the face for the life of him. Rick was still trying to figure out who the dude was when the zeta beam went off yet again.”How many people did we invite to this little house warming party-“Rick said as he turned to the zeta beam, stopping himself as he saw who stepped in.”Why hello there, miss...Crap. That’s three people I don’t know. It’s some kind of record. Or are all three of you new to this? Did the League give us a bunch of greens? Gahhh. We’re gonna die on our first mission, aren’t we?”
Rick’s rambling was silenced by a very excited little heroine behind him. Monroe nearly jumped out of his skin as she introduced herself to them all. Before she could get off on a spree, a familiar voice cut it. There was Batman, having appeared out of no where as he usually did. Rick wished he could do that without using his powers. It’d be bloody awesome. Rick listened to the rather short mission briefing; only partially listening. This couldn’t be anything more than some recon mission or something. It wasn’t like they would be fighting a werewolf or something. Rick snapped back into reality as Tori yelled something and was gone in a flash (pun intended).”What? Oh, we’re leaving?” A moment later, Rick was invisible. Then clothes started to appear on the floor, and a few minutes later Rick was standing there in his costume. Ghost picked up his belongings, stuffed them in his backpack, slapped the backpack back on, and raced off after everyone else to the jet.
Ghost jumped inside and found a nearby empty seat, and strapped himself in.”So, who’s flying this rust bucket?” Rick said, kicking his feet up on the seat in front of him.
Sunny shrugged, ignoring what the male had said about dying on their first mission. He was right; she was a greenhorn but that didn't mean she wouldn't try her best...maybe. Then, a bright girl spoke out, introducing herself as Shooting Star, AKA, Tori. Sunny grinned, assuming that the other girls' alias had something to do with speed or something along the lines of that. Tori's excitement was infectious; and Sunny felt pumped up about this whole group meeting as well. Eager to introduce herself, she was about to open her mouth to blurt out a string of words until a deep stern voice rang out. Tori greeted him, stopped at the Uncle and the D part when the male told his niece that his name was confidential. He then began to speak, telling the group their first mission details before leaving. Sunny dropped her duffel bag on the ground.
Germany? A werewolf? An auto pilot jet?
Rainbows.
That was how Sunny felt at the moment. It was simply just a gush of wonderful, tasty, and sparkling rainbows hurling themselves on her. She couldn't help but stand there for a few seconds, shocked by this whole affair. She even ignored the abnormal wind currents that blew against her face. Holy re-curve bows; this would just be flat out amazing. As a normal human who had lived in a fairly normal life in a normal place; Sunny was exhilarated by the 'news' she was just given. Finally, she was going to be able to experience new and weird, possible paranormal, adventures.
As if she were struck with the bolt of reality; Sunny bent down to unzip her duffel bag. She put on her light vest and put it on; then fastened two quivers, one on her back and the small one on her right leg thigh. She then pulled out her recurve bow that was colored black. She kicked her bag a little away from her, and then hesitated. Now, how was she going to get into that awesome jet? She paused, biting her lower lip, wondering if anyone was still around to help her. ”Fuck, this is embarrassing,” she thought to herself.
“Could someone kindly guide this poor disabled girl to the jet?” she humorously asked.
When Sam entered he couldn't help but Notice Rick look at him. it looked like he wanted to say hi, but he didn't know who Sam was. That was understandable. In his Shazam form Sam looked very different. He chuckled a bit. It was kind of funny really. He was going to say something when a girl introduced herself. She seems pretty cool .Tori huh? Shooting Star. Nice name. Various other thoughts went though his mind, but he thought maybe introduction would be good to start off with. Of course, that didn't happen. Batman cut the meeting short. They would be using a jet. It would be fine. He smiled and went to walk before hearing the girl.
"Um. I'll help you." Sam offered placing his hand on her shoulder. "I'm Samuel Hunter. You can call me Sam. Well... On a mission call me Jr." He said before thinking it might be a bit weird as a hero name. "My mentor goes by Shazam. I go by Shazam Jr. It's just easier to say Jr." He explained a bit to clear up why he had kind of a lame hero name. He smiled and begin to walk. "It's nice to meet you by the way. I hope we can work together well and become good friends." He was doing the whole polite thing. First impressions were everything right? Besides he knew his parents wouldn't want him to be one of those cold, dark brooding types. No offense to batman and the like, but he just couldn't pull it off. Maybe on the Jet they could officially all introduce themselves.
"Yeah... that's me. Sorry, but I can't say I'm as familiar with you though." Seamus said with a slight smile on his face as he was greeted by one of the other boys. In all honesty he didn't know what to say to anyone there, he didn't do any kind of research on who exactly he'd be teaming up with so he hadn't the foggiest idea who anyone was. Luckily for him two newcomers quickly followed in after his arrival, Seamus taking special notice to the girl with the bandages around he eyes. Could she be a oracle? No she's to young. He thought before turning his attention the other boy who arrived. Seamus couldn't place what kind but he definitely felt some kind of magic coming off the boy. He was about to inspect further, his attention was grabbed by the redheaded girl he noticed when he walked in, a smirk came to his face as he finally figured out who she was. "You're that new speedster. Oh, my Da is just going to love this." Seamus said with a slight snicker in his voice.
Before the girl, who introduced herself as Tori, could ask what Seamus meant a curt voice broke in. The Batman, Hmm I pictured him a bit taller. He thought as the dark knight went on about the teams first mission, that was much earlier then Seamus expected. "And I thought I was a dark person." Seamus said with a chuckle after the caped crusader had left the team. Nonetheless he knew his mission and was more than ready to jump into the fire. Seeing Tori turn into a tornado then the other boy vanish and reappear brought a smile to Seamus' face. "Good to see I'm not the only one with odd changing habits." He said with a soft laugh. "Tius pu!" he said in a voice that seemed to echo, his clothes quickly shifting to his dark magician clothes. He smoothed his hair back, it magically becoming neatly combed, before heading to the jet. He took a seat, sitting with great posture, near the back while he waited to depart.
"Oh, thank you," Sunny said with relief. She felt a hand on her shoulder, guiding her to the jet as the boy started to introduce himself as Sam. Shazam Jr. The word "Shazam" reminded Sunny of an explosion, and she suddenly wondered what everyone's powers were. She herself, was an ordinary human, with the exception of her funky eyes. She assumed the person who had made the wind currents was a speedster, judging from her name. Sunny then heard "Tius pu!", that seemed to echo in her ears. Now, she was definitely sure that guy was a magician of some sort.
"It's nice to meet you as well," she replied, also trying to be polite. She smiled, mentally hoping that she would also be able to work well with everyone. She reached out with her free hand, feeling the jet seat. "I'm Sunny Yeom. On missions, you can just call me Falcon," she said. Sunny made sure no one was in that seat and hopped in, buckling herself up as she waited for the others.
"I'll change later." Sam said calmly announcing to the rest of the team as he took a seat beside Sunny. "When I suit up it's not really um... Indoor friendly." He said with a small laugh. "So let's fire this baby up!" He added not wanting someone to die before they even took off. It was a little exciting. Their first mission as a team and his first job without the old man around. He knew this was gonna be great. Hopefully they wouldn't need to hurt the would be hero who was out of control. Maybe they could get another team member. He smirked. The possibilities were endless and he loved it. Not knowing what would happen. Not knowing who or what they might come across. He just hoped they got airborne soon. It's not like anyone even needed to fly the hunk of metal. It was an autopilot jet. Keyword Autopilot.
Hector watch as the other teammates came in and could see that C.A.I.S. was already starting to analyze them. Then the orange hair girl who had arrived before him introduced herself as Tori and as her alias shooting star. Yet she was then cut off by none other than the legendary Batman who appeared out of nowhere and caught Hector completely by surprise, even C.A.I.S. was surprised by his entrance. Yet what Batman said next shock Hector even more. He was going on the field? What were they thinking, sure Hector had a super power but it would be useless against their current opponent. The idea of running away or staying behind entered Hector mind, he thought about it for a few seconds. No, he was going to go on the field, he was part of a team and he had a job to do.
Hector wondered what to do next. He had lots of teammates which he knew little about. Perhaps he could get some information on them and their opponent. He then took out his laptop, touching it with one hand while his other hand touched the computer that was in the cave. At this point he used his powers to search for data on opponent mainly and on his teammates while transferring the data to his laptop. Yet he couldn’t take too long and thus simply tried to scan for basic information and made sure to keep secret identities out of his search. After a few moments and seeing everyone else headed towards the Jet, Hector ran behind them and got on. He heard one of his teammates ask who would be flying it. “Well it has an autopilot. I can easily activate it. That being said if for whatever reason we do need to fly it without using autopilot, than I’m your Guy.” said Hector as he took a seat. He then began to see what information he had acquired about their opponent and his fellow teammates.
Star smirked as she sat in the front. She saw a big red button that said start so she assumed that was how she started it. It didn't take a brain scientist to understand the jet. She grinned and pushed the button and the jet took off entering camouflage mode as it flew quickly towards her destination. She looked around at the other controls so this jet could possibly be used as a distraction. As she took in everything she formulated an idea for Hector who seemed to be a lesser of a fighter than the rest. "So you are good with technology right?" She asked grinning her signature lopsided grin. "What if you took control over the jet when we got there and used it as a distraction to help us tame the wild beast." Star suggested happy with what she came up with. Star let him think that over while she turned back towards the front, after about fifteen minutes they arrived and landed right outside the city. "Everyone turn on their comm links and keep in touch, we have some beast butt to kick!"
Star then ran out of the jet and towards the wolf just in time to see it flip a car into the air. She slid her goggles onto her face and took off running hoping she had calculated the building height and car trajectory correctly. She ran up a building until she reached the top and kicked off flipping landing on the car and moving at super speed and getting the driver out and into her arms, which wasn't easy cause he wasn't the lightest. She just realized in the spur of a moment she didn't think about the part where she got off the car, time was running out. "I'm an idiot" She said to herself before bracing for impact trying to protect the man as much as she could hoping that she could jump off and not get to banged up.
Seamus sat in silence, watching the landscapes rush past, as the team flew to there first mission. Though he didn't show it on his face he was pretty excided to be with all of these other teen heroes, he felt like he wasn't too out of place. Not to mention to be flying to Germany to fight a wolf man that was terrorizing a city, fun right? Seamus' mind was quickly pulled back from his thoughts when Tori, or rather Star, spoke up about the teams arrival. He gave a slight nod as he rose a hand and clicked on the small bud that was snuggly placed in his ear, then like that the speedster was gone and heading for the thick of it. Seamus rose from his seat and gave a quick nod to the rest of his team, a slight smile on his face, before snapping his fingers, suddenly Seamus' shadow reshaped into a circle around his feet and lifted him off the ground, though only a foot, then a moment later he was riding the shadow board off towards the city and the trouble. He arrived in time to see Star run up the wall of a building and jump herself onto a car falling out of the sky. Out of pure instinct Seamus extended his hand sending forth a series of black strings that wrapped around the speedster's waist and stopping her fall to the floor, though he only held her in the air for a moment before setting her safely down. He shot her a quick smile before turning his attention to the man wolf lumbering near by.
Ghost looked round the jet as everyone piled inside the vehicle. He sat, twiddling his thumbs, until everyone came on."This thing is autopilot flown?" Rick felt his cheeks go red momentarily under his mask. He mentally slapped himself for not paying more attention during the briefing."Right, right. I knew that." Ghost muttered under his breath. Rick looked around at everyone, and began to gauge how effective they could in a combat situation.
Most of them were rather straight forward. A blind archer (how useful..), a speedster (maybe she can talk the bad guys to death), a magician (perhaps he can confuse them with a card trick), and a computer technician (He can take support the enemy! Beware!) Then there was the oddballl, that Sam fellow. He had yet to reveal his powers. If they were lucky, Sam would be the next Superboy. Then they could all sit back and watch this guy do everything for them.
When the jet landed, everything seemed to start before Ghost was ready. Star was already out the door and saving lives, with the magician out right behind her. Ghost jumped up from his seat and fumbled to open his backpack. Rick strapped his weapons onto himself, before racing out of the jet to join the fray. Ghost used his rope dart to climb a nearby building and assess the situation. Well. I guess that thing's the target.] Ghost thought to himself as he watched the werewolf chuck a car. Ghost took note of a nearby pipe on the side of the building he stood on. Ghost then vanished.
Using the pipe, Ghost climbed down to the ground and silently circled around behind the werewolf."This is Ghost." He whispered into his cowl's communicator."I'm engaging from behind, watch your fire." Ghost reappeared a few feet behind the werewolf, standing on top of a car. The hero drew his tranquilizer gun, and began to fire at the werewolf's back.
