So, the first jump in the RP is the first jump our characters make? Or have they discovered that they have this ability before?
I'm asking this mainly because I'm confused about power diversity in the group.

I'm assuming it's their first, at least.

I GMd a multiverse-hopping RPG before and had it so that the first characters we had were making their first jump, so just starting out. Later on we'd bring in vets, people who were more experienced in jumping.

Actually, I should probably find a new idea. With my history all I'll wind up doing with the TailRed idea is looking for ways to creep everyone out with it. >.<

Also, a concept for a world. I was thinking maybe one where the Roman empire didn't fall, and took over the world.

Well, had a random idea for a starting world at least, but not sure if it's any good. ^^; Basically something like... Traverse Town, was it? I haven't played Kingdom Hearts in a loooong time but I think that was the name of the world that was basically a kind of dimensional hub or something where stuff from a whole bunch of other worlds ended up drifting to somehow. Just a random suggestion though. ^^;

Yup, that's the one where everyone who's world got Heartless'd washed up.

Well, obviously minus the destroyed worlds bit, but yeah. XD More like a world between worlds of sorts where stuff from other worlds just ends up somehow.

I'm all for that. What kind of powers would the characters absorb though? Would it be up to the player?

Sorry everyone. Work, life, and all that stuff that tends to get in the way of the imaginary world.

Oh! That's really great! I'd love to hear some input. How did your world jumping rp go? How did it start? Any advice on keeping it going?

That could work. The technology might not be that different, but our characters would find ourselves in trouble, because they did something illegal, or maybe the government in that Roman controlled world is aware of jumpers and is trying to catch some to study them and find away to jump in order to expand their own powers.

Yes, it'll be the characters' first jumps, and will be learning about their abilities for the first time.

Mmm We could do something like that. This way, it could explain how our characters ended up gaining such a wide variety of abilities since all sorts of things would be flowing in and out. The only thing I kind of have a problem is I've been envisioning our characters taking some time to figure out that they were jumping like they wouldn't have any clue till anyone told them of the old stories, or they figured some things out by putting some legends together or just from constantly going from one place to another. It might just be me, but a town like that would come best after a few jumps.
Of course I'm open to the notion.

Well, our first powers could really be anything. I can't think up any real limits to place on them, but for keeping in mind that the powers will be starters, and will be very basic in the beginning so there's time to grow. As time goes on they'll learn, and gain new abilities from the various worlds they find themselves in.
