Would either of these classes be okay? ------ Light Adept Spells: Light Barrier (1) Creates a barrier of light. Moderate to high resistance against magic spells. Low resistance against physical attacks Light Arrow (1) Shoots an arrow made of light. Can stun enemies and lightly damage them. Can do lots of damage to dark enemies or undead monsters. Healing Light (1) Uses light to heal allies (or foes) within moderate range. Heals 10%-40% of HP ---- Metal Adept Ultimate Blade (1) Brings forth a colossal blade (really really big). The blade is summoned and goes down toward the ground, either hitting a specific target, or can be used as a defense against an attack. The blade can't be used in battle, it is a one-time thing, where it appears and goes into the ground. Would be considered a finishing move. Equip Metal (1) Forms a weapon made of metal. Can be various shapes or forms, depending on what the person wants it to be. The weapon can be equipped and used in battle by the metal adept for a short period of time. Can use it again after awhile, if enough MP is available Ride (1) A large sword is summoned (almost the same size as normal swords, but wider and a bit bigger) and the metal adept can stand on it, while using it to travel through the air and various places. Can do this passively, even in combination with other skills

She's supposed to be a poison/stun based character. What do you think i should do for classes. She could have a little bit of healing, but her main focus is applying status effects in video game terms.

@Water Akira: Remember, the Adept class is mostly offense oriented, so healing and defensive spells, while possible, would be rarer and weaker. Out of the two options you listed, though, I like the Metal Adept the best--light mages are so often seen, but not many to my knowledge (besides Gajeel Redfox, Servant Archer of Fate/Stay Night, and one more that I can't actually think of right now but know I've seen) use metal element magic. That's just me though, you should go with whatever you like the most. @BlueAngel: If your priority is debuffing and status effects, a Cleric actually would be your best bet. They heal and buff allies, but debuff and cast things like Sleep on enemies.

I don't really see her as a healer though I see her more as a toxic fountain. Also speaking of debuffs i have kind of a basic kit. Passive thing(cause needed)- Semi immune to poisons especially her own. Toxic breath-You know poison them to death. Healing mist- A mist that provides cover and recovery for allies within. Acid spray-Burns slightly, but is more effective at destroying armor, and weapons,(Metal, and plant ones.)

What I mean is that she would probably fit into the Cleric class, but that she would specialize in the debuffing abilities of that class, rather than the healing abilities. Like how Knights tend to focus on one weapon and become Bladeknights, Spearknights, so on and so forth. Yes, as Zombehs mentioned, a Nature Adept who used magic poison plants would work too.

I was of the understanding that Clerics couldn't do any substantial damage with their abilities. So while she could have have debuffs like Defense and Resistance Down with Acid or Speed, Evasion, and Attack debuffs for a Numbing Poison, none would actually deal any HP damage.

That's pretty much correct, although I would be willing to make a few allowances here and there. Like, inflicting Poison on an enemy would deal damage to them over time, but especially at low levels it'd be like, a handful of points every few rounds. Not really something that could be considered a major offensive skill.

lol, or maybe you could make a healer guy with an attitude who acts all "geez, you guys should be more careful, I shouldn't have to keep healing you all the time" or something. I dunno, I just got that mental image in my head and it was pretty funny.

Because of enrolling a year later than most people, many students his age and younger have more knowledge about magic than he does. His teachers and classmates are usually quick to point this out, often alongside his bad grades in class. Soka is often getting into trouble and even disrupting class. Many students and even staff of the school are curious as to why someone like him decided to even join the Academy in the first place. He does seem to have significant natural talent for his magical abilities, however. And for this, he is often regarded as a noteworthy adept. Statistics: Level - 1 HP - 140 MP - 120 Attack - 8 Magic - 15 Speed - 12 Accuracy - 7 Defense - 7 Evasion - 17 Resistance - 8 Spells/Skills: Equip Metal (1) Forms a weapon made of metal. Can be various shapes or forms, depending on what the person wants it to be. The weapon can be equipped and used in battle by the metal adept for a short period of time. Can use it again after awhile, if enough MP is available Manipulate Metal (1) Allows metal to be moved and controlled by the metal adept. Also the metal's original shape can be changed, however it cannot exceed the original amount of mass that the metal has. (As a metal adept, Soka is able to create metal. However for a large object, it would be more convenient and reasonable if he was to acquire metal that is already in existence, and simply manipulate it.) The range of this spell is moderate. Meaning if the metal that Soka is controlling goes farther than a moderate distance away from him, his ability to control it will weaken. Ride (1) A large sword is summoned (almost the same size as normal swords, but wider and bigger) and the metal adept can stand on it, while using it to travel through the air and various places. Can do this passively, even in combination with other skills ------- Here is the character and class I would like to use. Happy to change anything if I need to. I'm a bit iffy about the Equip Metal spell, since Magic Classes don't really use weapons, but what if rather than directly equipping it, he was just able to control it to attack similar to how 71342's character uses the sword that is also his "channel" for his spells? By using it after the Manipulate Metal spell, you could do things like making metal saws and then throwing them through the air like death frisbees, or making a few spears and then launching them. Other than that, though, this character's approved! Welcome to the RP!

I've posted the opener in the IC section! Everyone, feel free to start! The first section is mostly just introduction and mood setting, while the second deals with my character, Hayato, and sets him up to run into other characters if anyone wants to interact with him.
