This whole obstacle course thing was beginning to excite Molly, as it was right up her alley. No powers? No problem. Good thing she left Vulcanus in her room, with the weight on him, she wouldn't be able to lug him anywhere without her powers. As the instructor, Mammoth, informed the class on what they would be doing, she couldn't help but jitter and giggle in anticipation, she had taken a back seat to the other students but now she would get her time in the spotlight, as befits The Champ. He twirled a single platinum lock of her curly, waist-length hair in around her index finger, bouncing on the spot where she was standing with the rest of the class. _'Time for The Champ to enter the ring and bring the smackdown. Madame Smash gonna sweep away... Sweep away? Did that sound right? Don't want it to sound too aggressive, otherwise a fight might break out.'_ She mused to herself, pondering on the best entrance message and drifting further on to try and think up the best intro music to suit this occasion.

Ariella was a little concerned about them having this obstacle course. Mainly because she won't be able to use her powers, which the instructor was kind of right. A person doesn't need to rely on their powers to complete a mission. But it was still worrying Ariella. The other students didn't seem like they were worried. As Mammoth, the instructor continued to tell them about the course, Ariella listened to what the instructor had to say in order for herself to accomplish this task. Now, she wasn't gonna give up, oh no she wasn't. Ariella will try her best to accomplish such course. So all she did was stand there, a hand running through her hair as she stared at the instructor. Knowing what they had to do, rules and so on.

"Obstacle course. Good. Great. Hopefully easy to get through. Bear can wake up after." Jami muttered quickly under her breath as she got in line. She propped Bear in a sitting position in her seat before she left, just so he didn't fall when he woke up.

> Jin muttered under her breath. "I need my powers back." She smiled a bit, though. "I just need a minute... and some carbs." She patted her pockets, looking for something to snack on. Even without her powers, she seemed to run through a meal so quickly that she needed to keep food on her all the time. Unfortunately, when she came up empty, she realized that she'd left her peanut butter crackers in her suitcase. "Crap. This isn't good." She could feel herself starting to recover, but her stomach let out a warning groan like a rusty hinge. Jihord "Would you like me to go get you something?" He asked, a bit concerned

Mammoth chuckled as he watched the reactions of the students. **"Don't worry kiddoes it is a nice, simple course. All you have to do is pass that finish line right over there."** He said before he thumbed in the direction behind him where two poles were set up with a stereotypical checkered banner strung up between them, the word 'FINISH' printed on it. **"Oh wait I almost forgot to turn this on."** He said before pressing a button that whole room to stir and be filled with the sound of machinery cutting on. First the floor the finish line was on was elevated about two stores up off the ground, something like a rock wall appeared to be the only way to reach it now. Next the floor the students were on started to rumbled before being elevated, not as high as the ground of the finish line though, in some areas while lowered in others making the floor completely uneven and splitting up some of the students. After that multiple torrents popped up around the training room, them starting to take aim at the students already. **"And just to give you all a little motivation, first across the finish line doesn't have to help clean the academy's bathrooms."**

> Jihord > > "Would you like me to go get you something?" > He asked, a bit concerned "Nah. Don't call attention to me. Or yourself." Her eyes widened when the obstacle course started to come into play. There was still a paleness in her face, but now she looked excited and determined. Between her years on the street, and more years at her brother's side, learning to become a proper thief, she could take a course like this in her sleep. "Oh... school is definitely in session." A small smile slipped onto her face as she shed her hoodie. She got up slow, heading down at a leisurely pace, walking in a long stride to warm and stretch her muscles on the go. It was nice to have a subject that she didn't have to be confused about. "So, teach." She had to crick her neck to look up at Mammoth. "Is this an every man for themself kinda thing? Can I just go for it, or is there some kind of order to this?"

Jihord He grunted thankfully to her, moving towards the back of the room, knowing he would have to be last unless the other students wanted to run on a sheet of ice. He had a rather pleased look as he stood, impressed with her.

Molly saw the terrain shift and had to wipe a sudden cold sweat from her hairline. Her hand quickly recoiled as her face took on a determined glare at the course itself. _'Hope no one saw that. Okay Mol, keep it together. You're not just Molly. You're Madame Smash, this should be a breeze for you, powers or not. Just remember, quick and controlled movements.'_ She could feel her own voice in her head, reassuring her that she'd be fine. She flexed her hands and her panic only rose as she felt no soft pulse of gravitational alteration around her body, no extra lightness in her step. Then she looked to the other students. And then to Mammoth, their instructor. Her face took on a confident grin as she began to plot a course through the course, cracking her knuckles and stretching her legs in a short warm-up. She couldn't help but blurt out in her distracted state, "Y'know, this doesn't look too difficult. At least not for The Champ!" She thumbed at her own chest before mentally withdrawing her comment, chastising herself for even speaking up before fully assessing everyone else's abilities.

As the ground shifted James kept an eye on everyone else. Thankfully balance was one of his better skills. A small smirk worked its way across his face. People were always funny to watch when they surprised. So far thing has been an entertaining start. He doubted he would be first though. There were other that were clearly more athletic than he was.

The ground cracks and shifts under her feet. Suddenly, one platform one of her feet is on begins to rise and the other one begins to lower. She tries to quickly step onto one the upper platform, the one that Jack is on, but she slips and tumbles down to the lower of the two. She lands funnily on her arm and she hears a slight pop. She grimaces as she stands back up, only to notice that her wrist is bent a funny way. She then notices it's dislocated and quickly pops it back into place, yelping at the pain. She then moves it slightly and even the slightest twitch makes it hurt. She grimaces again and looks up toward Jack.

Dimitri fought to keep himself steady as with the flip of a switch the seemingly simple obstacle course became something that would seem out of place for anything but a futuristic war movie. "**This might be harder then I thought. Ok, no playing around on this thing.**", He said as he regained his balance and rotated his limbs, relishing in the sound of servos clicking and metal sliding against metal. Dimitri looked at his competition and smirked ever so slightly as he got an idea, then put on a blank face. "**Accessing data....file found. Executing Olympian.exe.**" Dimitri stated, completely dropping any sense of emotion or inflection from his tone as he got into a track runner's stance, "**Estimated chance of primary placing success, Seventy percent. Estimated chance secondary or lower placing success twenty percent. Estimated chance for failure, six percent. Estimated chance for termination, four percent.**" He droned before turning at looking at Mammoth, "**Awaiting permission to engage.**". Of course everything Dimitri had just said save for the statement about not playing on the course was complete hogwash he'd made up on the spot to mess with the other students. At least for now, Dimitri wanted the others to see him as a machine, tireless, cold, and ruthlessly efficient, if only to possibly gain a psychological edge on them.

Ariella could feel the ground moving and splitting! Making the other students also split away from eachother. And the bad thing was...! There wasn't no powers to be used! What was going to happen now? All Ariella could do now was try to protect herself so she won't get hurt.. but she did have to get to that finish line...Now seeing turrents popping out and taking aim of the students. "Well! This isn't FAIR!"

Luckily for him Shane had been standing dead center on one of the elevating platforms. He could overhear some struggle to get a footing and others prepare to go and the only thought going through his head was, "Looks like I'm going to have a lot of fun around here". A wide smile appeared on Shane's face. An obstacle course was Child's play. You don't last long as a thief without learning to adapt to your surroundings. Despite it being a while since he had to rely solely on himself and no aid from his powers Shane was sure he could do this. Looking around he noticed no one else had started off so he decided to take initiative. He bolted towards the nearest turrent and sure enought it as well as other nearby ones started firing at him. He darted side to side all the while closing the distance between himself and the closest turrent. With his blood pumping hard he began to climb up onto the turrent and just as he planned the others fired on the turrent right as he lunged away. "One less problem for you guys to deal with!", he yelled back at the other students.  He continued onwards but was stopped dead in his tracks almost falling over into the pit below. He couldn't tell what was down there(mostly because he was too busy focusing on the rest of the course) and simply took a few steps back to get a running start. This would prove to be a mistake as he completely forgot about the turrents until one fired and the projectile grazed his leg. "HOLY SHIIII-", he yelled before holding in the rest. It wasn't an actual bullet but it felt a lot like one. There was no doubt this pit was going to be harder to pass now. He ran as fast as he could pushing himself as hard as he could and when the ledge came he jumped like he had never jumped before. Unfortunately he didn't make the jump entirely and just managed to grab the other ledge and pull himself up.  Once fully on the other side he came up to these small ledges above murky pool of water. "Am I seeing this right? Looks like something is in the water! Forget it I ain't coming in last", he thought to himself as he grabbed onto the ledge and inched himself over. "Come on, come on can't let them get past me", he repeated to himself.

Violet immediately begins running as soon as she sees the other guy begin to run. She dodges the bullets, doing flips and handsprings to do it, and she manages to get to the pit unscathed. Well, one of the bullets managed to shoot off a small piece of her hair, but it isn't that big of a deal. She needs a haircut anyways. She looks over the pit and then looks down into it with a sigh. She has always had a fear of heights. She remembers back to the early guy and how he got shot at by the bullets if he ran back. She took a deep breath and did a back handspring layout, going back about ten feet. She then sprints forward and leaps across the chasm. She manages to get one foot down, but the other slips and misses. She screeches in pain as she has to grab the edge of the pit with her hurt hand. She manages to pull herself over before getting to the edge of the murky water. She notices the guy isn't that far ahead of her, so she bucks up, ignoring the movement under the water and jumps up to grab on of the ledges. She pulls herself up and sprints passed the guy, leaping to the next ledge. She gets two ledges away from him before turning back around and saying, "Want a real challenge? Try and beat me." She begins to bound across the ledges.

Dimitri's head snapped forward as he realized that two of his competitors had begun running already. Having anticipated the co-headmaster telling them when to start, the sudden start had caught him off guard. This shock was quickly forgotten however as Dimitri launched forward from his starting position, his arms and legs swinging back and forth with in a rhythmic pattern before jumping down onto a platform below him. Dimitri silently noted the actions of one of the other students as they destroyed a turret and yelled out how he'd given everyone else one last problem. "*Don't lose focus Dimitri, still other turrets to watch for. *", Dimitri mused as he leapt upwards and scrabbled a bit to grab the lip of a platform to pull himself over. The cyborg just barely managed to get over and stand when he felt something punch into his shoulder, "*Speak of the devil*", he hissed mentally as he surged forward again, this time being mindful to try and avoid the hail of turret fire, still donning the blank expression. No doubt there was a nice little dent in his shoulder now,, however such a thing could be repaired without major trouble after the course had ended. Seeing the others ahead of him, Dimitri picked up the pace, moving as fast as he physically could. The cyborg was no speedster, it was evident, however he was still reasonably fast, and the lack of muscles or organic lungs meant that he could keep up his pace as long as there was no risk of damaging his brain. Hearing the sloshing of water up ahead, Dimitri lowered head head and barreled forward, just barely managing to push out with one foot as he felt the other fall into empty space. If his jump was bad, the landing was down right hideous, as his chin struck the next platform with a nasty cracking sound. Still, luck seemed to at least be partially on his side as he was just barely able to scrabble over the ledge, though not without receiving two shots to the back for his trouble. His head now pounding slightly from the face plant, Dimitri grit his teeth and kept moving, slowly but surely closing the gap between Violet and Shane. Where he able to view himself in third person, Dimitri wouldn't be able to avoid noting the uncanny similarity between his movement, and the t-1000 running scene from terminator 2.

"Shit. Well looks like I'll have some company for now. Come on, Shane, step up!", The Thief thought to himself as he leaped from one ledge to another. The end of the pool was some distance ahead and from the looks of it Shadow only had 3 more ledges until she was onto the next obstacle. "Always up for a challenge!", he replied to Shadow as he hooked himself onto the next ledge and with all the strength in his legs kicked off and propelled him through the air over the pool. This would not come without consequence however for upon landing he hit the ground hard on his arm but managed to roll and get back on his feet.  At this point the adrenaline in his system was eliminating the pain from his leg and his run, despite showing a minor limp, still managed to have a decent speed. He glanced back at Shadow and smirked before that all too familiar feeling hit him in the side, another turrent had fired dirently into his waist. "GETTIN REAL TIRED OF THIS!", he howled before running ahead this time keeping an eye on where all the upcoming turrents were positioned.  The next obstacle was something he hadn't expected. There was a path, about as wide as the hallways at the academy, but inside were these poles that's moved horizontally vertically throughout the hallway with speed. "Those things ain't there for no reason", he whispered to himself. He ran into the hallway and dodged the first pole, as it whizzed by him he could hear a buzzing sound. "Great..electrified", he groaned as he continued on through the hallway. It wasn't long before he exited on the other side. "That was easy enough I was sure I'd get-DAMMIT!", before he could finish there was another pole that was hidden just outside the hallway and managed to deliver a small but painful shock into Shane's body.  He moved past it and ran up ahead. Just like at the starting line there were large tiles making a 10x10 path towards what seemed the final obstacle before the finish line. "Almost there, common push a little further!", this course was getting the best of him but he wasn't givinf up just yet. He stepped onto a tile and immediately random tiles one space ahead fell. "So every tile I step on...another falls ahead. I gotta go fast enough to stay in the lead but pace myself as well. Not trying to fall down wherever those tiles go". Shane took a deep breath, his torso burning as it expanded. He jumped onto another tile and gave a second to find the next tile. He repeated the process until he came up to a tile that was 4 spaces away from the last obstacle. All the tiles ahead had fallen aqua leaving another gap to jump. This time there was no running start. "Well shit...", he said under his breath as he prepared to jump. His leg was still limp and with the last of the strength in his legs he kicked off and miraculously closed the gap. His legs hitting hard against the other side of the obstacle course.  The final obstacle was something he wasn't expecting, it looked to be the entrance to another room. Slowly opening the door Shane stuck his head through the doorway and was greeted by darkness only there seemed to be something inside as well. He could hear the whirring of machines along with the sloshing of water and what sounded like something powering up. He fully entered the room and the door slammed shut behind him. In an instant the whole room lit up for 3 seconds and revealed the origins of the sounds. The room, save from where where he was standing, was up to the knees with water. Turrents mounted along the walls of the room, each with different ammunition: nets, rubber bullets, and even gravity clamps which upon making contact with its target would instantly pin them to the ground. Under the water were nets meant to trip any traversing the pool and areas where the bottom was uneven and contained small footsized pits. Across all of this stood a door at the end of the room which Shane assumed to lead to the finish. After that short moment of revelation the lights went off again and in its place a strobe light giving vision for fractions of seconds. The sound of a buzzer and the activation of a green light at the end door signaled Shane to go and so he did. Jumping into the pool he immediately got his right foot caught in a net and was consequently shot multiple times with rubber bullets, "DAMN-SON-OF-BIT-SHIT!" he cried as each one hit it's mark leaving bruises and welts on his body. The only thought that eased the pain was he soon wouldn't be alone in this.

Molly jumped as the first competitors rushed off toward the finish line. She cursed her luck for starting off at a lower elevation than some of the others, but quickly got to work on making her way up to a higher level of the course. Turrets fired to her left and right, as she narrowly dodged and weaved through shots from every which way she could see. Nets and bolas, beanbags and adhesive rounds, all things designed to slow her down and impede her progress on her way to the top of the roster. She cursed soundlessly as a beanbag round collided with her chest, knocking the air out of her and making her loosen her handhold on the elevated platform that she was trying to climb to. _'Come on girl, just like dance camp. Up just like dance camp.'_ She thought to herself as she struggled to pull herself up a level with no breath to take into her lungs. She rolled as she stepped up, and avoided a stray shot of adhesive webbing, before laying low to catch her breath for a moment. The others were so far ahead, and so much more advantaged with their elevated positions. She cursed silently again as another beanbag shot winged her shoulder and sent her spinning to the floor of the platform, whereupon a net was deployed over her, pinning her to the ground. The ground was hard, and cold. Molly did not like it there. She did not belong on the ground, like a loser. A chump, not a champ. With a feral roar and a great, struggling flail, she found a weak gap in the net and tore a hole big enough for her to fit her torso through, making herself a makeshift rope net skirt, before continuing forward. With renewed fervour, she climbed and jumped and rolled and slid as fast and as far as she dared. She was gaining ground quick, she might have even had a chance, if she was quick enough. With a great yell and a running leap, she traversed a gap spanning between two elevated platforms, just barely gaining a fingerhold to pull herself up. One step closer to one more victory for the Champ. At least, Molly hoped.

Avoiding getting shot James did his usual thing and watched as several of his fellow classmates took off. By hanging back he was able to see where they had trouble or tripped up. It wasn't likely that he would reach the end first but at least there would be less surprises. The turrets turned and fired at a set rate, and also seemed to aim at the closest target. With somewhat of a tactic he waited for the next person to go which turned out to be Molly. Being one of the students at a higher elevation he took off after her. Tailing about two yards behind it meant most of the turrets fired at her and had time to pass out of the way by the time James moved up. Molly getting taken down briefly by the shots stalled his plan though. Usually a course like this with projectiles would be a simple task with his powers. Mostly because he wouldn't have to worry about them at all so long as he could keep track of where they were coming from. The same principle did work for avoiding the shots. The barrel of the turrets would fire in a straight line so avoiding their line of fire would in theory prevent getting hit. But in practice, once he was slightly ahead of Molly, judging where every one was pointing was harder than anticipated. Comically he took a rubber bullet to the side of the head. Embraced at first, and after the initial shock and pain James just laughed out loud. He could only imagine how funny he must have looked when he jerked sideways. Continuing on he couldn't keep a straight face. Clearing the gap there was the pool and the hall with poles moving around. Past that it appeared that at least one student was just standing there for some reason. Deal with that later, not getting hit was of a slight bit more priority.

Ariella looked at the others as they ran towards the finish line. "Oh! Right." she totally forgot about the finish line because she was mainly worried about the turrents firing at her. As she picked up the pace, making her way to the finish line. There were a few students already making their way there and they were also so close! It was possible that Ariella didn't have a chance of winning, but that didn't matter...at least she tried! The turrents now began firing, Ariella that was when she began to use her athletic skills, trying to dodge each attack by the turrent. "Oh..God. I swear, I thought this day was gonna be a little fun. And I had to wear shorts today." she said thinking to herself while still making her way to the finish line, TRYING to win that is. Jumping and jumping on each tile that she sees to get over there faster, but that was when she tripped and fell on the ground. Yup, she lost the race. It hurt a bit too!

Jami started crawling under the fire of the turrets fast as possible, going the safer route. She got to two platforms, and she looked around. "Not gonna be able to get past this. Not gonna no-how." she muttered quickly to herself. She bit her lip, jumping and just barely grabbing on with her one hand. She let out a happy shrieking noise, struggling to pull herself up and onto the platform.
