Dimitri's head snapped forward as he realized that two of his competitors had begun running already. Having anticipated the co-headmaster telling them when to start, the sudden start had caught him off guard. This shock was quickly forgotten however as Dimitri launched forward from his starting position, his arms and legs swinging back and forth with in a rhythmic pattern before jumping down onto a platform below him. Dimitri silently noted the actions of one of the other students as they destroyed a turret and yelled out how he'd given everyone else one last problem. "*Don't lose focus Dimitri, still other turrets to watch for. *", Dimitri mused as he leapt upwards and scrabbled a bit to grab the lip of a platform to pull himself over. The cyborg just barely managed to get over and stand when he felt something punch into his shoulder, "*Speak of the devil*", he hissed mentally as he surged forward again, this time being mindful to try and avoid the hail of turret fire, still donning the blank expression. No doubt there was a nice little dent in his shoulder now,, however such a thing could be repaired without major trouble after the course had ended. Seeing the others ahead of him, Dimitri picked up the pace, moving as fast as he physically could. The cyborg was no speedster, it was evident, however he was still reasonably fast, and the lack of muscles or organic lungs meant that he could keep up his pace as long as there was no risk of damaging his brain. Hearing the sloshing of water up ahead, Dimitri lowered head head and barreled forward, just barely managing to push out with one foot as he felt the other fall into empty space. If his jump was bad, the landing was down right hideous, as his chin struck the next platform with a nasty cracking sound.
Still, luck seemed to at least be partially on his side as he was just barely able to scrabble over the ledge, though not without receiving two shots to the back for his trouble. His head now pounding slightly from the face plant, Dimitri grit his teeth and kept moving, slowly but surely closing the gap between Violet and Shane. Where he able to view himself in third person, Dimitri wouldn't be able to avoid noting the uncanny similarity between his movement, and the t-1000 running scene from terminator 2.
