-The Fresh Pot, 5:45 PM- "Thank you, come again!" Veronica said happily as the customer left. She glanced around her shop, keeping an eye on everything. It was a modest place, room enough for a few tables and a comfortable sitting area with a circle of couches, but not much else. The main room was brightly lit though, and decorated with warm colors. She stood behind the small glass top counter in front of the door to the back room, which held the kitchen and storage area, and it was a little cramped. She glanced at the clock, noticing that it was just fifteen minutes to closing. She walked out from the counter to start cleaning up. "I'm sorry," She said to a woman she assumed went to the same college as her, "I'm closing soon, so I'm going to have to ask you to start wrapping up." As the girl nodded, Vee pulled a cleaning rag from the pocket of her apron and started wiping down the other table, humming softly as she worked. Nothing relaxed her more than taking care of her shop, and it was especially important because her friends were on their way. She walked over to the sitting area to make sure there wasn't any garbage there, then dragged a low, circular table into the middle of the couches so they would have somewhere to put their drinks and plates. "Hmmm..." she hummed absently, looking at the table. Suddenly struck by inspiration, she turned and grabbed a flower pot off one of the wall shelves and put it in the middle, rotating it slightly so the flower was facing the window. "Perfect."

Penelope made her way to the Fresh Pot, her phone in hand. She was rereading the Professor's email, hoping she had it right and wasn't coming too late or early. She'd just let her room at the Lab, the Professor nowhere to be seen. She'd even left her TV on. She didn't really mean to but it just... sort of happened. And by the time she remember, it was too late to go back. She was far too lazy for that. She put her phone back in her hoodie pocket and pulled out a cig and lit it, puffing as she walked down the street toward the cafe. She spotted Vee cleaning up the place, the closed sign already up. Chuckling to herself, she threw her cigarette into the nearby ash-tray trashcan and walked up to the door. Instead of knocking, Penelope pushed her face up to the glass and let out a heavy breath, a goofy grin on her face. Pulling up a hand, she slapped it against the glass and pulled it down, making an aweful screeching noise.

Vee stopped looking at the flower and stared at Penelope rubbing her window. Sighing, she thought about waiting until the girl decided to try actually opening the door, but decided she would probably just keep hitting the glass instead, so walked over and pushed it open. "The door's still unlocked you know." She said in mock frustration, "I can't actually lock it from the inside and still leave, it's the only way out." She stepped aside and let the older girl in. "If anyone else forgets how to open doors, would you be so kind as to let them in?" She asked, making her way back behind the counter and entering the back room.

His powers were interesting. He noted this as he skated down the street, passing by Farview Hall - his previous place of rest. After the little...'power fiasco', Orion had decided to move into the lab, for quite a few reasons. For one, he could practice his powers, in peace, there without anyone bothering him or pissing themselves. Secondly, the professor didn't bother him, and he didn't bother the professor. It was a nice deal. Thirdly, there was quite a few rooms in the labs, one room in particular being rather interesting; it was an exercise room, and after he dusted it out, it turned out to be rather useful and efficient. He could stretch his telekinetic powers there as well as train his physical form. Good in every way. However, he had spent the previous night at a...'friend that was also a girl's' place deeper into the campus, which is why he had to haul all of his ass down to the Cafe to meet with the others. As he skidded along the street on his black and white skateboard, sparks flying as the young man expertly hit an olly over a rolling trashcan, Orion quickly spared a glance around. No one was around. Great. A smirk twitched onto his face, and with a mental twitch, Orion was literally flying through the air, a grin on his face as he did a nimble backflip through the air, his skateboard staying perfectly in-line with his feet. He landed lightly back on the board, his telekinesis keeping the skatting instrument flying through the air as he quickly made it to the entrance of the cafe. Before anyone could notice, Orion landed on the ground, behind some bushes, with a minor crash that broke his board in half. "Eh, whatever." He whispered, still under the adrenaline rush from his minor power-flight. Taming his long, spiky, and rather feathery hair, Orion dusted dirt off of his jeans and converse before quietly going around to the front of the cafe, and opening the door. The bell alerted others of his entrance, and Orion ducked into the small shop, crystal blue eyes gazing around calmly. The young man wore his usual college clothing; slim jeans, black and white Chuck Taylor sneakers, and an untucked white dress-shirt with a black, unbuttoned blazer over it. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, showing the black tattoo of a crow stretching along his right forearm. "Hey." Orion greeted, mostly out of necessity, the door closing behind him, almost subconsciously. It was a training technique him and the scientist professor man worked out a few days ago. If he affected things telekinetically, without even thinking or consciously doing it, his powers would grow stronger. Like a muscle.

"I didn't forget. I just wanted to freak you out. Didn't work it seems. You're no fun." Penelope tisked, shaking her head. She walked past the blonde and took a seat at one of the bigger tables. "Why do I have to do that? I just wanna sit..." Penelope whined, leaning back with her hands behind her neck. "By the way, do you know where the Professor is? He wasn't at the lab earlier..." She asked, closing her eyes to rest. It wasn't like she was really worried, it was more like she was just making conversation. She half opened one eye when she heard the bell of the door opening and closing as Orion walked in and said hey. "Hey, loser. 'Sup?" Penelope asked, closing her eyes again, relaxing once again. Then again, if she needed to open the door, she'd probably just use her powers. She had to admit, these powers were both a blessing and a curse. It did NOT help her problem with laziness.

Just about the time that the young ladies and man still clutching a skateboard began to mingle in the quaint, yet rather gorgeous and homely in its own way, cafe they are both caught somewhat off guard by a strange whizzing noise growing slightly louder and coming to an abrupt stop. An extended flash of green and orange ending just as abruptly, thankfully decelerated by a conveniently cushioned surface. A quick cursory glance or two reveals a twitching body clad in an open green jacket somewhat engulfed at the neck up by a delightfully soft couch. And another to tell that this person must have collided rather clumsily into the now destabilized table. Wrong place at the wrong time, at least, that is what someone would think about the poor flower pot's new location. The poor poor flower pot, just finding a new home, now about to crumble from the impact. However, as fast as the figure entered is about the time that passes for a reaction. And one would say just in time, for the shaggy orange haired man was suddenly on the floor clutching the delicate pottery. "Hey there birds, looks like I'm not even the first here." The student who is now easily determined as Ferghus Gilroy stands in the center of the cafe. He makes an amiable nod towards Orion and smiles warmly "This one stays between us, yeh?" He lets out a little smirk.

Orion paused from where he had been standing by the door, hands resting in his pockets. "...Yeah, alright Gilroy." He stated in a deadbeat voice, mentally wondering what possessed the other man to make such a potentially disastrous entrance. With a shrug, Orion began heading towards the others, passing by the table and the orange-haired man, and sitting in a seat near Penelope. He was mentally hoping the 'meeting' could start soon, as there was a few things that he wanted to bring up. Well, more like one thing, but, eh, either way it goes, it was kind of important. As he waited, Orion propped his head up on a fist, while his other hand - his left one - rested on the table. at least fifty black marbles rose from out of his pocket, rotating through the air, before each of them lined up on the table, in a completely symmetrical line. Orion nudged one, and it suddenly blasted forward like a bullet, zooming past Gilroy's head and nimbly lodging itself into the keyhole of the shop's door. It then blasted out of the hole and back into the line of marbles. Orion smirked, and all fifty marbles rose into the air, a few inches above the table, forming into a large middle finger, before they were shifted and formed a crow taking flight. He often did this when he was alone- it helped him better his reflexes and agility with his telekinesis, and it was a nice way to pass time.

Penelope's eyes widened as Ferghus made his entrance. "Well, that was subtle..." She murmured, shaking her head slightly. To his question, she shrugged. "That's Vee's business, not mine." She explained in matter of fact way. Realizing that Orion had ignored her, she turned her head slightly to glare at him. "Hey! Don't ignore me, loser!" She called out, hitting Orion on the shoulder. It wasn't hard enough to really start anything, but it wasn't a tap either. "I'm trying to make conversation here, doofus!" She told him, putting a scowl on her face. After a while, she chuckled slightly. "You should stop playing with your small balls and socialize." She joked, raising a brow at him. "Anyway, 'Sup with you, Ginger?" Penelope asked, turning back to look at Ferghus.

Even with the enhanced reflexes that came with the pill the doc gave him Ferghus was still surprised with the dire speed at which the marble whizzed past him. With a look of astonishment that quickly turned into a smirk he spoke directing himself towards the others, "This is a lovely little shop, it'd really be a shame if you had hit the panes, you wouldn't wanna hurt poor old Vee's lively hood now would ya? Ehh, I guess there is no helping it." Ferghus quickly took a seat on the couch that he had been planted head first in earlier and spoke again, this time directed at Penelope "Oh you know, guess you could say I've been running circles around yeh smokes, but in all seriousness,'fraid I'm a bit worried about the doc, wasn't even around the labs, and now that I think of it, neither were you Striphe. You two plotting something we should know about?" The relaxed man finally spotted a glance towards Veronica, clearly he and Orion have been driving each other bananas in the lab, and gave another warm smile, a gesture that he often resorts to.

"Pay no attention to the writing on the wall. The words seem empty 'cause there's nothing there at all." The smooth sounds of the Alan Parsons Project filled Emily's ears as she walked down the street. She walked at a relaxed pace but with purpose, eager to chat with her new friends from the Project, as she generally called it. As she listened to the album she had heard so many times before, she considered how the others had reacted to their pills' effects. After she had taken her own maroon pill, there had been no discomfort. All that she had felt was surprise that suddenly she understood more than she had before. Of course, when she discovered the other side effect it was a little different. It's hard to remain calm when you think about wanting food and your TV turns on that instant and flips to the Food Network. Unfortunately for Emily, all of these thoughts occurred very quickly and no noticeable amount of time had passed. No matter, though; the cafe was just around the corner. Reaching the entrance just as "Children of the Moon" concluded, she paused the album from her phone, put her headphones around her neck and entered the Fresh Pot in a way 100% opposite from the Irishman's moments earlier. Opening the door and walking in, she beheld the four that were already there. "Hey!" she said to everybody/nobody in particular, and sat down at the table with Penelope and Orion after giving a glancing smile to Ferghus on the couch. "I see nobody's died yet," she remarked jokingly.

“Ah ha! Found it!” Felyse jumped to his feet, holding his signature red hat between his fingers. Above him was a hole, or to be more accurate, a portal of pure darkness. It hung on the ceiling like some over-grown Christmas ornament. A large variety of shirts, trinkets, and all other items he had horded throughout his life were piled in an organized mess and shoved to the side. Along the way, the bed was placed right under it. He stood beneath the dark abyss, feeling a slight draft drawing towards it, almost like it was urging him to come inside. The hole was juuuuust big enough for his scrawny body to fit right through. Even though the Fresh Pot was just across the street, this portal was here all nice and tight, presenting itself to him. If only it wasn't on the ceiling... All well! Might as well go with it. "Welp, here goes nothing," the teen huffed, imagining what the good professor might say if he were to ever find a portal in his room instead of the training area. Despite his gangly weight, a jump or two on the bed gave him enough momentum to grab the edges of the portal and heaved himself through… to only find himself staring at a pair of shoes and hearing voices above his head. “Oh…” Felyse stared blankly at his new surroundings. Judging from the warm atmosphere and seeing Orion, Penelope, and Emily who were all gathered at a table, it was pretty much a given that he was at the Fresh Pot. The person closest to him was the ever-so-muscular Ferghus whose feet he was currently staring at. Slowly, his lips slipped into a sheepish grinned as he resisted the urge to scratch his nose. The teen made a move to pull himself up only to find himself unable to do so. Flickering his eyes down to the portal hugging his lower chest told him exactly why. "Pssssst, Ferg!" He called out to the Irishman in a hushed voice, looking rather lax despite having half of his body sticking out from the floor. “Hey, buddy, I like your shoes. They’re clearly well worn. Also, can you pull me outta here? I'm kinda stuck sooooo...”On the other side of the portal, his legs dangled helplessly with no leverage to rely on. “...I got skittles.”

Nick was fairly indifferent to his new powers, sure they were useful, but he couldn't really use them for fun, he was already good at all the things he wanted to be good at. One of them being riding his awesome motorcycle (which he stole from his cousin about 3 weeks ago) it growled beautifully as he made his way over to the coffee place to meet his super powered peers. He didn't really like any of them, too chirpy and sitcom compared to his normal circles, but he was fascinated by the super powers, his new power Clarity made him hunger for knowledge a lot more than he previously did...(which isn't saying a lot for a dropout). His Chopper Bike came to a screeching stop outside the cafe, there wasn't a real parking space for bikes so he just left the bike dangerously close to the front door, and burst through the door with a slightly annoyed look on his face. Does this place sell anything other than coffee? He said to nobody in particular. And when I say sell, I mean give me, Alcohol, or a coffee with a little Irish in it. He lazily smirked at Ferguson and snorted No offense Hoolihan, or is it Callahan...O'Grady? He dropped himself quite abruptly in the sofa that Ferguson was sitting in and shuffled so he was somewhat comfortable sitting next to him, without an invitation to, he scanned the room really quick and acknowledged some of the other super powered types in the room, he'd met them all once before. Introducing himself with a nod and little else. He looked Orion up and down with a measure of disrespect, he didn't really like Orion, he wasn't sure why, he just didn't. His eyes flew past Penelope and Veronica who he was fairly indifferent to, and focused on Emily. He couldnt take his eyes off her for at least a good 15 seconds, and flashed her his rouge-ish smirk. Yo, Em you see my new bike? I built it from scratch, with my own engineering smarts before that pill. After this little hipster meeting let me know if you need a ride back, I promise you I wont go too fast...unless you want me to hahaha. Nick readjusted himself on the fairly comfortable sofa next to Ferguson and let out a rather loud fart, which was amplified by the leather on the seat, and pulled out a pack of smokes.

With a sigh that seemed to be a mix of relief and yet a feeling of hopelessness for his comrades Ferghus removed his arms from behind his head, placing a single amiable arm around the new arrival's shoulder he spoke, as if to ignore Nick's earlier name game, "Those are bad for yeh little Nicky, get outta it." With a friendly pat on the antagonist's back the Irishman stood up, nodding to Felyse so as to say, "One moment" "But if it isn't too much trouble Vee, I could go for a nice hot pot of black." Relinquishing another typical grin he scanned the room again and finally to the boy dangling below him. With a shrug Ferghus spoke in a rather hushed tone, "One of these days yer gonna open up right below meh there Felyse. And yeh can't help but freak me out all the time can yeh?" Finally he lowered himself to the cafe floor in order to grasp the younger boy's arm. "Yeh know I don't like candy." He spoke so that only the boy half-way intersected by the floor could hear him. As if to no one in particular Ferghus spoke again, reiterating his statement about the professor, "Now that more of us are here, the doc hasn't been around lately, which strikes me as odd. Now I'm not such the type to worry, but I've never seen 'im leave beyont." adding with a shrug, "Ehh, there's nothing for it."

Veronica's voice wafted from the kitchen. "I'll be right there!" She said, and a few moments later backed out of the door, balancing several plates on her forearms and hands. She walked carefully so as not to drop them, and laid them on the counter before reaching for a fresh pot of coffee. She grabbed several large mugs on her way out from behind the counter and set them down on the table between the couches. "Here we go," She said, pouring the black liquid into each mug. She set each mug in front of someone, crossing the room to give one to Penelope, then returned to the main table with a basket of cream and sugar. "You know I don't serve alcohol here, Nick. This is a Cafe, not a bar." She reprimanded, going back for the plates. One by one, she placed a fresh slice of black and blueberry pie in front of everyone. "There," She said smiling. "I just took it out of the oven, so it's still a bit hot. Let me know what you think."

Dominic's eyes flew open, the ceiling of his dorm greeting him. He instantly realized that his "twenty minute nap" lasted a lot longer than he expected. Dominic rolled over, put on his glasses, and glanced at the alarm clock that sat upon the squat fridge next to his bed. 5:50. Shit. Not only did he sleep through PolySci, but he guessed he was going to be the last one down at the Fresh Pot. Still he just layed in bed, the events in the recent past playing over again in his mind. A smile slowly spread on his face, he had signed up for a medical trial and received superpowers. It was pretty awesome, and went a lot better than Dominic expected it to. After reminiscing for a few moments Dom rose from his bed and freshened up a bit and grabbed his phone and earbuds before heading out the door. Dominic exited the Taggart Complex and immediately set off towards the Fresh Pot. While other's had taken the professor's offer to bunk at the lab, Dominic had insisted on remaining on campus. His deadbeat roomie had finally dropped out, meaning (at least for this semester) he had their double space all to himself. After a short walk he finally arrived at his destination, but looking in the window he saw his hunch of being one of the lasts ones to arrive was correct. Vee was already passing out snacks to Penelope, Orion, Ferghus, Emily, and Felyse. Even Nick had decided to grace the cafe with his presence. "Heeeeey everybody," Dominic said as he walked in the door, "Looks like the whole famn damily is almost here!" He made his way over to the couches, and settled into one that wasn't currently occupied by Ferghus and Nick. "Vee, if its not too much trouble could I get set up with some of that coffee you're handing everyone else?"

Heather had been dreading the encounter all day. The reminder was there in the back of her mind during her morning run, through all her classes, through the lunch she barely touched. Amy and Jessica had noticed her quietness angry silence, assumed she was just PMSing and did not try to stir her from her mood. It was probably better that way, there was no way they would understand and heather couldn’t half believe it herself. They parted at three, Heather trying not to appear bothered by her friends’ departure to the training annex Instead, she started toward apartment 214 to wait out the remainder of her time until the big meeting. There was much Heather was not looking forward at this meeting, it seems unlike the rest of the gang, Heather was not very thrilled to have this “gift” forced on her. It was the sensation that alerted Heather to something being wrong the night after she took the little red pill. There was a sensation in her chest, like a powerful pulsing. Then the currents had spread through her body, it felt like hot insects crawling under her skin. In a panic, Heather had tried to call someone for help. The moment her hand grasped her white and gold smartphone, it was drained of all its battery life and it felt as if Heather had fed the pulsing in her chest. Then an explosion of electricity appeared from her finger tips, shattering glass across the room and making the air heavy with the energy. The good doctor tried to explain to Heather what she became, and what he expected of her but the moment he told Heather he would not change her back; she gave in to her temper and would hear nothing more of his experiment. It didn’t help that this crazy doctor kept dropping words like “Fate” and “hero” and that he expected Heather to fight crime. She told Doc to “fuck off” and stormed out of the lab. That was days ago. Heather reflected back on that day and her outburst as she walked toward “The Fresh Pot.” She was a little ashamed to fly off the handle like she did, but Heather still felt so unsure about this new power. She hadn’t used it since it surfaced, going to great lengths to avoid anything that would give her a charge. Heather had ignored all of Rohrbach’s calls and emails for a number of reasons. But when Heather chanced the safety of her laptop and saw email about the meeting, she knew she had to attend. Heather walked into the Fresh Pot, sunglasses still over her eyes, and notices she is one of the last to arrive. “Hello everyone.” Heather fixes the crowd with a polite smile, which was an improvement compared to her behavior at the last meeting. She found a seat at a table on the edge of the group, still unsure where she fit or if she was welcome. They all seem so over the moon about this project, Heather couldn’t see why. She felt the sensation under her skin again, but Heather clasp her hands together and ignored it.

With quite a bit to take in all at once, Penelope sort of glanced about the room, trying take it all in at once. Ferg's reply, Emily's entrance and remark, Felyse's more interesting entrance, Nick's sleezebag side showing, Ferg's question about Rohrbach, Vee's coffee and pie, Dominic's entrance, and Heather's rather surprisingly nice greeting. "I'm not sure where the professor is, Ferg, or what sort of plot he's scheming now." She replied, sipping the coffee placed before her between breaths. "Oh, and hey everyone. Heather, you're looking much better today. Now that you're inside, wanna show us those pretty eyes and take off your sunglasses? It's kinda rude, yanno." She spoke, turning to face the blonde. She, despite her tone, had a slight smile on her face. Chuckling to herself, she sat back and picked up her fork, digging into the pie. She pulled the delicious hunk of sugar to her mouth and chomped down, savoring the sweet taste. As always, Vee was going to make her fat. "Vee, you're ganna ma'e me fath." Penelope told her friend, though she'd never admit it, with a mouth full of food. That was why she couldn't stay around Vee too long, she'd gain ten pounds within the first week of living with someone like her. She preferred living at the lab with the others, keeping her stomach full with ramen and other typical college type foods. "Stho..." Penelope began, swallowing the food in her mouth. "When exactly is the professor suppose to get here? Does anyone know?"

Orion had been completely silent the entire time, content to just listen and nurse his own cup of tea. The warmth from the mug almost brought a smile out of the college student, but with surprisingly a large amount of self-control, he barely managed to not smile for 'no reason', opting instead to bring his cup up and take a nice, long, and quiet sip of the hot, amber liquid. As the conversation began to be sent into the direction of the missing professor, Orion finally glanced up, his sapphire blue eyes rather lazy and half-lidded. "No idea. I wasn't at the lab last night, so...maybe he got a date?" It was a random guess, but the professor was a lonely little man, so who knew? Maybe he did get a date, and had spent the night at his date's house. It wouldn't surprise him, honestly. Some girls liked the nervous, old, and geeky type. Or not... "Maybe not. Anyone have his phone-number?" Orion finally flicked a wrist, and all of the marbles formed a sort of marching line, falling into his left hand, where he quickly pocketed the objects.

“You better get used to it with my portals going all willy-nilly. Aren’t you going to be a hero? How could you be so shaken by little ol’ me?” Felyse lightly teased, raising an eyebrow in smug mischief as Ferghus grabbed him by the arm. In return, the young man latched onto the Irish man’s upper arm and began to pull. One, two, and three – Voila! A soft, almost cartoonish, pop could be heard as Felyse was hauled right outta there. Once the messily tied laces of his boots were released from imprisonment, the portal quickly melted away only to be replaced by the wooden flooring that had been there originally. No scars, no scratches - it was almost like a man-sized hole had never been there in the first place. “Thanks, bud. If candy is a no-go, then I guess I owe you something else,” Felyse threw his arms up into the air and stretched, his fists clenched. He took the red-head man’s last statement as a challenge. Chuckling under his breath, he gave the older man a friendly slap on the back, hopping away. “But, I can’t give up on converting you to the dandy land of candy just yet~.” He softly sang under his breath. Upon looking at the occupants of the room as well as the newly arrived, he flashed them a warm smile and a wave as gestures of acknowledgement. He hopped right over the table where Heather, Emily, Orion, and Penelope was at, and took a seat right next to Heather. It wouldn’t do to sit on the couches since Nick made a point of making it his own territory with his gastrointestinal tract. Besides, slices of black and blueberry pie were already situated quite nicely on the table by the courtesy of Vee. It was calling his name. Sitting back against the chair, the young man tilted his head toward Penelope, a silver spoon dangling from his mouth. “Nope. Didn’t see him at all, neither hair nor nail. He didn't became an old man hermit in that lab again, did he?” Felyse asked nonchalantly, scooping up a large piece of his berry desert with his spoon. He shoved the whole thing into his mouth and chewed in contemplation… only to start piling in more of the sugary substances by the spoonful. Juicy sweetness flowed through his veins. He quickly shook his head at Orion's question. Usually it was the good professor who does the contacting, not the other way around. Besides, the scientist was only a few meters away if they ever needed something, often found holed up in his laboratory of doom.

Rather unfortunately for Emily, it seemed painfully obvious since their first meeting that someone was already trying to make moves on her. And also rather unfortunately for Emily, that someone was not someone she had the slightest interest in even getting too close to - a fact made poignant by his contributions from both sides of his body. Fortunately, they came from his perch on the couch and not right next to her. Still, she wasn't the type to be rude. "It took me 4 minutes and 52 seconds to walk here," she replied, having listened to "Children of the Moon" so many times that she knew its exact length. "I think I'm ok," she finished, giving him a small polite smile. Turning to listen to the conversation about the professor's whereabouts, she replied to Orion's question about his phone number. "I could find it," she offered. She was used to the intelligence thing but not quite used to the technology manipulation thing yet, but she still knew that it wouldn't be very hard to track down the professor's number in a matter of seconds via her phone.
