-The Fresh Pot, 5:45 PM-
"Thank you, come again!" Veronica said happily as the customer left. She glanced around her shop, keeping an eye on everything. It was a modest place, room enough for a few tables and a comfortable sitting area with a circle of couches, but not much else. The main room was brightly lit though, and decorated with warm colors. She stood behind the small glass top counter in front of the door to the back room, which held the kitchen and storage area, and it was a little cramped. She glanced at the clock, noticing that it was just fifteen minutes to closing. She walked out from the counter to start cleaning up.
"I'm sorry," She said to a woman she assumed went to the same college as her, "I'm closing soon, so I'm going to have to ask you to start wrapping up." As the girl nodded, Vee pulled a cleaning rag from the pocket of her apron and started wiping down the other table, humming softly as she worked. Nothing relaxed her more than taking care of her shop, and it was especially important because her friends were on their way. She walked over to the sitting area to make sure there wasn't any garbage there, then dragged a low, circular table into the middle of the couches so they would have somewhere to put their drinks and plates.
"Hmmm..." she hummed absently, looking at the table. Suddenly struck by inspiration, she turned and grabbed a flower pot off one of the wall shelves and put it in the middle, rotating it slightly so the flower was facing the window.
"Perfect."
