First thing to know that the current campaign is actually a follow-up to one me and my friends did a couple of years ago - and pretty much all of the characters end up marrying into some kind of nobility. So this time around we're playing their descendants, all of whom are nobility of some sort.

Let's see - we have a half-demon princess (oracle), a human prince of orcish descent (fighter), two half-elven siblings one of whom might be a wee bit mad (rouge and summoner), and a wizard. (He wasn't in the last game so he doesn't have as strong of a legacy). Plus me!

My character (Caoimhe) is the daughter of a duke, which makes her a…duchling? I really don't know what to call her. She's also of elven descent. She's a bard, so she uses magic and music combined, and I've also made her kind of nerdy (she's a high charisma, high intelligence character).

She and the human prince (Lysander, often called Sandy much to his annoyance) have been very close since childhood. They will most likely end up together.

So the basic plot is this - things are doing quite well on the main continent, with the past 150 years being a time of great development. (I.E. last campaign was traditional fantasy, now we have primitive firearms and such). Though the nations have their squabbles (we have a self-appointed Emperor ponce trying to reunite the evil empire of the last game, but with less evil) things are doing well.

But across the sea a nation of worshippers of Zon Cuthon (a evil god whose follower are into very nasty tortures) is committing genocide. Though no one nation wishes to officially declare war, they cannot abide it. So the One Hundred Thousand Sons of Saint Jacqueline are formed, which is a militia that draws volunteers from every nation in a holy war against the Zon Worshippers.

Since our characters are all nobility of the various nations, we are part of that force and represent our lands in the militia.

So far we've landed in the foreign land, had some ship to ship combat, freed a captured city, defended it from the bad guys (twice) and now are off as a diplomatic force to rally the downtrodden people.
