Name: Gray Crowell
Age and Grade: 16 - 11th Grade - Junior
Gender: Male, mistaken as a Female from time to time.
Appearance:
Gray has purple hair just like his own twin sibling who begged him to join in just for the fun of screwing around with people. He often has himself in rather practical and regular attire most of the time, unlike his sister who can sometimes be a bit over the top at times. Despite the duo appearing the same, he can easily fade in and out of existence due to the fact that he keeps himself from being anything outstanding, unlike his sister. The only way to really tell the difference is the color of their eyes as his are blue, and his sister's are more of a turquoise color (ignore the fact that his eyes are yellow please :P)... that, and his sisters "appealing areas" (to guys) are about the average size of a high school girl's.
His physique is more or less average to say the least, and like his sister, he has cream colored skin for the most part, slightly tanned though. His original hair color was black, but for now it is a purplish-lavender color. He and his sister stand about the same height of 6'1", and suffice to say she is a really tall girl. While Violet (his sister) won't reveal her weight, Gray weighs about 176 pounds... well, from what he estimates anyways. They both also have really, really long hair, and both of them refuse to get it cut.
Gray's clothing often changes from time to time, either going about in his usual wear to putting on a green tank-top with a strange jacket on him. It seems he has an assortment of jackets ranging from different designs, colors, etc. His favorite, however, is the one with tufts of white fur coming out of the edge of a hood, along with the rest being a plain black. He will usually wear this outside of school for some reason. Sometimes as a way to screw around with people, he himself may wear proactive clothing such as short shorts in combination of a sports bra.
Personality:
Calm and collected, Gray isn't one to be worried about such straightforward matters, and prefers to enjoy his slice of life that he has left on him. He keeps a bright outlook on life and doesn't enjoy being tied down to despair for the most part as things will get better. He doesn't let his own obsessions and ambitions get the best of him, and stays rational even in the most unsavory of situations.
Even with the positives, Gray is still considered to be very stubborn and sticks to the belief that no supernatural thing truly exists, even with his newfounded abilities. He will often search for reasons to disregard such things, rather poorly to say the least, like he was halucinating or there was a slight draft because of an open window. His stalwart beliefs leave him teetering at times between true logic and just sheer stupidity, even with his intelligence.
Like his sister, Gray tends to be a tad mischievious from time to time since he is considered to be a very beautiful girl, despite being a guy. He can often use this to his advantage, giving him impeckible leverage against someone by seducing them in some way. If he feels bored in the slightest and feels like doing something, it's either screwing around with a guy or girls head, or practicing Kendo in his backyward. Even with his wily ways, he can still prove to be a bit of a tactician, planning things ahead of time.
Even with his wits, he ironically isn't good with girls, or dense as put by most. He can't properly become infatuated with another and this sometimes results in him breaking a few hearts or two. This often leaves him crushed as he dislikes seeing someone in a sad state, and will work to figure out how to lighten their spirits.
Gray is one of the most dedicated and loyal people at the school, even though he gives the impression of a lazy student who doesn't care about life. He works hard on almost any assignment given, and gives it his all when playing basketball, along with practicing Kendo. His loyalty is derived from myriads of points in his life that left a sizeable impact on him. If a friend is being harmed, he will physically take the blows for them or verbally bash the assailants until there is not a piece of them left.
((Not my best work, but I'll go with it for now Dx))
Backstory:
Before moving to America, Gray and his twin sister Violet were born in Japan to a Japanese mother and German father. Both of the parent had enhanced psychic abilities which allowed them to speak to the dead and they often commune with supernatural beings from the realm dead as well as seeing other mythilogical creatures. The duo only knew of their father through the crazy misadventures they went through involving another world before his own fathers body was exterminated through a hit and run incident which left a marginal scar on their mother. The duo never really noticed any change as she did a fine job of hiding it, however the older of the two, Gray, would hear his mother sobbing consistently at night. In his early years, his mother was able to spend much time with her children even though she had a bulk of work to withstand and go through. He often learned about communing with the dead, however his younger twin sister was much more spectacular at it than he. Gray often found himself unable to see or hear any being beyond him, however the mother and daughter were able to without any problems. Gray was concerned and felt hurt when he was told of his powers to see them were undeveloped in a sense. This pushed him a bit away from that world, and caused him to become a tinge skeptical about that other world.
Even with such trifling matters, Gray spent most of his childhood in Japan with a keen interest in things that disregarded his mothers secondary profession of being a shaman. Gray made a few friends, however was never as popular as his sister who was considered to be quite beautiful and drew interest to her with her ability to talk with spirits. He became slightly jealous of her, but not by a huge margin as he went as far as to say that ghosts didn't at all exist in this world. This backfired on him slightly when his sister overheard this and demanded him to take it back. Out of envy, he denied her charges against him, causing her to well up and run away from him in sheer pain. The boy was shrouded with guilt and was slightly pressured to pursue her and say his condolences to the girl as she found it to sort of be her lifeblood from what he could discern. Eventually he came upon her and gave him his condolences, explaining that he felt covetous because of her abilities to talk to those which a regular person couldn't even see. The girl understood his feelings, apologizing to him for not coming to the realization that it was pushing the duo apart. He told her that he didn't deserve it, and spoke of her enjoying what she did. Gray finally decided to go off and do his own thing instead of being bothered by his sister and her attention she procured. This left an impressionable mark on her, and cemented their relationship as brother and sister even further. Gray was often irritated when someone came up to him and questioned if he could talk to the dead as most people mistook him for his sister since he appeared beautiful. This did annoy him from time to time, but he didn't mind it at all as he was able to see multiple smiling faces, one of which was his sisters.
Through the years, Gray eventually took up Kendo upon entering Junior High School, often being commented on being one of the better in it. He also found himself intertwined in an Animanga Club with a few of his friends since they successfully managed to rope him, along with Violet, into reading manga and watching some anime while hanging out. Of course this really didn't make a profound impact on his life, however his mothers schedule was getting tighter and tighter which prompted him to take more responsibility... sort of. Gray would traverse to procure groceries and would often assist in helping his sister conjure up some food for the night since he was horrible and making food. He became overworked from time to time, becoming a bit lazy for the most part since he often found himself needing a little bit more energy, much to his sister's chagrin. She would tease him on not fitting the stereotype of a hardworking, perfect Japanese kid who strived for the best letter possible. Gray brushed her off with a smile, saying he didn't want to fit into the mold, and wished to create his own.
Eventually, when he and his sister were fourteen, they moved to the states with their mother who remarried to an American Business man. Gray could only wonder why as his sister Violet knew beforehand why she came to the conclusion to remarry. Grays mother spoke to him about this, saying it was because his father didn't want to ever hold her back ever in her journey through life. Gray believed this was before the duo were ever born, and kept that mindset implanted within him. When moving to America, their father often talked about philosophical things, explaining he didn't have the same belief as their mother about the supernatural. This left the twins befuddled to why she decided to marry the man, but Gray came to the realization that his mother was happy as their interactions with each other made them seem like a couple on their honeymoon, even after the passage of six months. The family started out in Enid, and the twins often found themselves moving around the states a lot. Eventually their parents were reassigned to the state of Oregon in the small town of Sandalwood.
((sorry for half assing it at the end. There was going to be more which explained a bit more, but the show must go on!))
Skills and Strengths:
- Gray is more or less a boy who can easily analyze predicaments, and can sometimes dare to attempt in fixing them due to his rational understanding. This allows him to appeal to people easily and help them through the pain and sorrow they were feeling.
- Ironically enough, it's Gray who does Violets make-up, not her as she is horrible at doing it. Gray can easily put make-up on a person as if he was a proffessional to say the least, not causing any errors at all when applying it on to a girls face.
- Gray himself can easily seduce guys (if his gender is kept a secret) and girls also due to how "pretty" he looks. Although he finds these looks to be a curse from time to time, he sees some merit in using them to his own advantage.
- He honestly cannot tell the difference in the weather, being unaffected by the heat nor by the cold unlike his family for instance who need to put on jackets when in a cold area. This allows him to wear almost any type of clothing without being impaired at all... unless it's heels.
- The boy can easily take a few hits or two, and is often very durable when it comes to fights or sports. He was offered a position in the football team, but denied since no one could hit him hard enough. This was partially true as the other reason was he didn't like football. Gray is more of a basketball person.
- Gray is more or less a hardworking student who honestly doesn't need to do much just to get the job done. He is in the middle for effiecincy, but he will get it done, no matter what the circumstances.
Flaws and Weaknesses:
- Due to the fact that he was often not in the correct situation at the right time, he often finds the concept of supernatural beings to be fake, even though he shares the same extrasensory abilities as his sister. This is in due part because of his step-father lecturing them on his own beliefs of not believing in mythical beings, plus Gray has never seen one before.
- While ironically being able to seduce guys and girls, he cannot actually be seduced himself. How is this actually a flaw? This means he is dense as the concrete we step on everyday. He doesn't well understand the concepts of being in love, nor ever having someone in love with him, even with his one ability to read peoples feelings.
- Due to his sister getting involved with the wrong people and nearly averting himself getting the same "treatment," he is violently overprotective of a person once he gets close to them in a friend sort of way.
- At times he can prove to be... clumsy to say the least. He often trips on nothing and making himself appear to be a fool of sorts mainly, but it thankfully is just that. If it was anything else, everything would probably go to hell really fast.
- His laziness also equates as a weakness since he isn't the most efficient person and often needs to be pushed to get things done, even when they have a short window of time to do so.
- He is a neat freak and will often rummage through peoples bags without a second thought if it is disorganized. Same goes for a room if it is ever a mess or in shambles to say the least as it will bother the everliving crap out of him if it isn't precise. You can tell if he is disgruntled by such a thing if you dare see his left eye twitch.
Quirks:
- Gray more or less has an obsession with flowers, mainly blue roses in retrospect. He doesn't understand why, but he finds them to be mysterious and beautiful in a sense.
- The boy often has a knack for artwork of any kind, whether it at all ranges from a realistic depiction of a person to sketching pictures that look like they were pulled out of a manga.
- He wishes there was a Kendo Club in his school and sometimes practices some of it in his backyard from time to times. He also does a bit of archery, being somewhat average in it.
- Gray has an irrational fear of... prosciutto? Yes, he, for some reason, is afraid of a slice of meat for some reason and will refuse to even touch or taste it. This often gives leeway to his sisters mischievious actions in which she will throw the stuff on him, or put it into a sandwich she decided to "make" for him.
- No matter what, it is litterally impossible for Gray to have a dislike of something, no matter what it is. Find a shameful love letter you wrote to your crush but didn't give to him/her yet? He will keep it a secret and comment on you being brave enough to do something like that. Love gore, anime, etc.? So does he.
