Ok, so maybe Chie has already seen Boom, so she isn't excited or wowed by the introduction, probably puts on a bored attitude?
Maybe instead she spends the time looking at how her lance mates react to their cogs. Maybe seeing them excited about their cogs/mechs will make them more relatable to Chie, or at the very least it's a common point for all 3 to get along?
She could also go over to one of the others and make snide comments on how their cogs are ok, but Boom is the best and most powerful, and give a whole specs list as proof.

I forgot to mention, but your group of cogs will be called a 'Lance', and you can refer to your fellow pilots as 'Lancemates' (this terminology is taken from the BattleTech universe). Pharazon is Lance Leader. Groups of strikecraft will also be referred to as 'lances'.

You have free time to explore. You can let me know either in IC or OOC where you want to explore and I will make a post detailing each area. The areas are listed out in the Opening OOC post, but they are:

Bridge - Where the Captain, Commander and other officers are controlling the ship
Hangar - Where you currently are, where the cogs are stored and where maintenance is done on the cogs. In the center is the Cadmus Reactor itself, the machine that manufactures and upgrades cogs.
Mess Hall - Where you go to eat and socialize.
Barracks - Living quarters, showers, gyms, offices. Your luggage has already been moved there.
Engine Room - Where the Tachyon Harp Engine is located. Also where thruster propulsion is located along with other essential support systems. Where you'll find most of the engineers that don't work on the cogs.
Infirmary - Where the doctors and nurses work. Also where the brig (on-ship jail) is located.

@voteforpandaa, sure, I think there's room. If you haven't read the interest check, here's the link with some basic criteria. Here's the OP for the OOC as well for convenience. The second OOC post is a CS with a few guidelines. Look through the Characters tab to see everyone on the mech team (AKA Lance) and see how your character can fit in, team-composition-wise.

So far we have a 1. melee stealth assassin, 2. ranged support-tank, 3. short-to-medium ranged initiation tank, and 4. long-ranged heavy bombardment artillery.

So one issue that needs to be addressed is all pilots were supposed to congregate at a certain location (the space elevator of the planet Pythagoras) and were then ferried to the carrier, the carrier will then make a hyperspace jump in 12 hours. Since your character was not there at the time, we would need to come up with a reason for that. I can think of three that would work: 1. for whatever reason, your character knew they wouldn't make the meeting, but will arrive a few hours later than the others but make it to the carrier in time for the hyperspace jump, 2. your character previously had another profession within the fleet (technician, medic, scientist, etc.) and is accustomed to arriving on the ship with others of the same profession, this time, in a ferry that would come just a bit later than the pilots. Of course, you can use any valid reason you can think of, 3. your character is at the jump destination and will be picked up when the carrier arrives.

It will probably be better if you get your character onto the carrier sooner rather than later so you don't have to wait as long to RP.

Then, what does Chie want to do for the 12 hours of free time on the ship? Sort through her luggage? Walk around the ship, hang out with Boom, or maybe even hanging out with one of her lancemates?

Maybe I can prompt Chie with Dr. Alberton? Depending on what you want to do and how Chie would be expected to respond to her dad. If you want to interact with the other lancemates, but Chie is going to be rebellious, I could have Dr. Alberton tell Chie to go along with him to see the rest of the ship, and Chie will refuse and go talk to her lancemates just to spite him. Or if Chie is actually going to go along with Dr. Alberton's, maybe he can do the fatherly thing and prompt her to talk to them, and she'd go a long with it.

Maybe for a topic, she might feel a bit bad about what she had said before and about how their mechs didn't look might much. She might rescind her previous statement, and say they look 'OK'. Or she could talk about how she already feels like an experienced pilot from all the games she's played.

So Steel Soldier Ryoko is a series of real robot mecha action games praised for their challenging gameplay, complex storylines, and excellent character and mecha designs.

Steel Soldier Ryoko: Steppin' on Sunshine is the absolute darkest game in the series known for having some serious mindscrew moments and an extra boss that is incredibly, incredibly difficult.

They also have increasing difficulty every time you do a new game plus, up to eight times.

... I came up with this on the spot when I was writing the post. ^^;
