Okay, so, I've got two types of backstory. Which one do you guys like more? Which one would more likely allow him to be in the Kingsguard?
A] The son of the Royal Head Chef, Hero, is mortally wounded by a group of bandits (Shep's?) attempting to steal the valuable ingredients he's transporting. He is saved by a witchdoctor, but she must perform dire measures, and accelerates his evolution. This gives him his strange markings, powers, and that spike. He returns home, and works to be accepted into the Kingsguard.
B] Son of a proud warrior family, Hero, is kidnapped when he is a teenager, and experimented on (By the Dark Lord's subordinates?). This accelerates his evolution, giving him strange markings, superpowers, and that spike. One day he escapes, and makes his way back to Trance Kingdom. There, he works to be accepted into the Kingsguard.
By the way, sorry for the doublepost.
