Actually thinking about it, I agree with Dan. I don't really see how having one character in two threads at the same time would work to be honest. I mean if something important happens to the character in one thread, EG a character dying or a limb being removed, how would that affect the other RP?

Secondly, will there be any like threadwide events planned? As in events that will bring all the heroes together? Also would characters be able to travel between threads?

YES

It's very important that everyone understands this. The threads are akin to geographical locations (cities, in fact), and so naturally your hero will be able to travel between them. And yes, there will be events that are thread-wide and even multi-thread. Say, if there was an (spoilers ahead) apocalyptic zombie-baboon invasion.

I've been wanting to call our roleplay something similar to "Marvel" or "DC comics". Like a franchise of sorts. I came up with QUIX Universe, derived from Don Quixote - the greatest hero ever. What do you guys think? Also, logo:

Yeah, I did it myself. 10 minutes in Illustrator if you know what you're doing ;)

I'll sleep on the three cities until tomorrow morning, and post some solid suggestions here. As always, I would love some constructive discussion around them!

Where were you going to place the three cities? Are you going to place them all within the United States, or were going to spread our focus across the globe? Or were they going to clustered within the same general region? I'm not 100% committed, but I'm interested in how you want to tackle and approach the themes and styles of the cities, and how they would contrast and be differentiated from each other.

Two posts in over a year? AND YOU FORGOT TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF?

Edit: going back to being relevant, I'm not sure @GentlemanRogue. My idea was to just make it an alternate earth completely and make shit up.

@GentlemanRogue Yeah, the locations won't be placed anywhere in the real world. If it pleases the masses, we could say they are three neighboring cities in the US. I personally don't care.

As for the themes of the cities - I've thought of that!

* * *

Grimmarch - The City of Secrets
The oldest of the three cities, Grimmarch is full of glimpses of the past. Parts of the city are full of preserved gothic architecture, others more modern. The city is quite normal during the day, but comes to life during the night. Full of a bustling nightlife, colorful lights coat the dark, gothic stone. Of course, along with the nightlife comes loads of criminal activity, including drug cartels, violent gangs and the occasional supernatural evildoer.

Claychester - The Great Crossroads
The largest of the three cities, Claychester is varied, but down to earth. The city started out as a place of fishing and clay gathering, soon growing to be a metropolis of trade and travel. Today, Claychester is an international center for trade and business, and surrounded by factories and large industries in the periphery.

New Skywell - The Stargazing City
The youngest of the three cities, New Skywell is the pioneer of technological advancement. Originally inhabiting Skywell, the old research district of Grimmarch, the scientific orginizations eventually moved to a more open space for collaboration. The result is New Skywell, the Stargazing City, with indoor agriculture and agriculture, renewable energy and modern skyscrapers. The city is more expensive than the other two, but for good reason - New Skywell is the closest we have come to an utopian society on Earth.

* * *

What do you guys think? Are these cities good?

@LHG100Yeah, that fits. I mean, he could easily roam between cities, but he should definitely be from New Skywell originally.

I'm gonna work on the threads this evening and tomorrow, but there are some things that need to be settled. Firstly, we need our 3rd GM. This won't be a huge task, you basically just need to keep an eye on one of the threads to make sure things go smoothly. The thread I'm GMing will be the main hub, with the main OOC etc. So most of the work is on me :P
Secondly, when we have the 3rd GM, we will have to discuss how much I design in your cities, and how much you're doing yourselves.

But yeah, the OOC will definitely be up soon everyone!

I don't normaly read interest checks with more than 30 replies, but when I do, I'm interested.

After spending a small eternity reading I want to contribute, so here are my opinions on what have transpired so far...

Three threads portraying three different locations:
I like it, it would get mighty crowded if we tried to cram ca twenty superheroes into one location. Crime wold go way down over night.

Liquid vs Solid time:
While liquid time has its advantages in a game like this, very few players can handle three different timelines that take place at the same time. I'm not trying to be condescending, but experience tells me that this a typical thing that can become “too much”. Solid time, while not the best of systems to use in a superhero setting, is easy to grasp and follow. Every character is in one location at any given time (unless their freaky super powers say otherwise). It will also force players to interact and give exposition once a character travels to a new location. They won't instantly know what is going on, and so one of the players in that location has to tell him/her. Good roleplaying bonuses all around. My vote is for solid time.

The three cities explained:
I like the idea and diversity of the cities. I think you've covered the three big “comic book cities” so everyone should have a place where their character would feel the most “at home”.
Also, it's easy to find real-world cities that could mirror the cities in the game. Like this:
Grimmarch – London.
Claychester – New York.
New Skywell – Tokyo.

Last but not least, questions.
Being a superhero-rp, there is always the question of limitations. Has the GM(s) given this some thought?
I'm not thinking so much about power levels, but more on origins. In some worlds things like magic can clash with the setting, of perhaps aliens shouldn't exist. Perhaps the eternal war between heaven and hell is a bit too much of a side note... Just throwing the thought out there.

Yeah, I can be the third GM. I was thinking of asking, but wanted to wait.

I think Crisis would do best in Grimmarch, honestly. It fits his character and the...lethalness of his ways of vigilante justice.

Ok, here I come from the old thread. I'm very interested in this. The cities look quite nice, they have a variety that will make a place for every tipe of character to fell comfortable. I like Grimmarch very much. Regarding the time discussion, I believe solid time is the best option to go with, cos' liquid time will be a little bit to much for everyone, both players and GM. I believe GMing 20 people at the same time it's kind of harsh.

Problem with liquid time, is that, when a character may want to travel to another thread, what if that thread is hours upon hours behind their original thread? Like, will they need to hop into a time machine before hand?

I think solid time would be best, but I may not be thinking about certain factors.
