huzza!
<Snipped quote by Turboshitter>
The guys currently outnumber the girls, I'm starting to think you just want a sausage fest up in here, or a harem. That's it isn't it. You want a harem of mythical men.
I thought you meant like a bugbear or something but this is much better XD
Name: Arkiyel'ein
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Race: Light Draconian (Originally of Fire Tribe)Draconians have been around for an extremely long time, hiding themselves from humans and other mythical species. They are rather secretive, extremely religious, and a very elitist race. As you could probably guess, draconians are a species that was born from both humans and dragons, taking the best of both worlds into 1 creature. They have the general shape and intelligence of humans, but the strength and power of dragons. From the dragons, they also took the ability to use certain elemental magics.
Draconian scales are not as hard as that of Dragons, but are very close. Taking a blade or gun to a Draconian's scales is a foolish endeavor, most likely resulting in a broken weapon, or wasted bullet. Draconians also have wings, tails, horns, and claws, not too dissimilar to their draconic ancestors.
Draconians have always seperated into 5 tribes, based on the coloring of their scales, and the element of magic they could harness. These tribes are Fire(Red scales), Water (Blue scales), Earth (Brown scales), Air (Grey scales), and Lightning (yellow scales). These tribes only ever converge on 1 idea: their religion.
Religion is extremely important to Draconians, as it what binds them to their traditions. It is why they hate dragons, feel they are superior to all other species, are generally secretive, and live in a matriarchal society. Draconian religion is based on the worship of the embodiment of the gods will, which they believe manifests within certain chosen Draconians. These chosen ones are born with white scales, and the capability to use light based magics (These can be explained as rare genetic traits, but of course, this species of zealots wouldn't believe this). These Light Draconians still retain a small amount of control over their tribe's magic, but are generally forbidden from using it.
Once a Draconian is born, if it possesses white scales, it is immediately delivered to the Grand Oracle, who is essentially the Draconian pope. Female light Draconians are trained as priestesses, harnessing their magical potential to help others, as well as being taught to uphold many rediculous traditions, such as the sacrificing of the weakest servant on the 7th day of every 3rd year.
The male light Draconians, on the other hand, are kept in servitude. They are not allowed to speak, they are not allowed to disrespect, or deny the orders of any priestess, and they are not allowed to use or learn magic in any capacity. If they break any rules, their wings would be clipped, and they would be exiled from Draconian society.
So, how does Draconian society stay so secretive with such a religious operation? Well, that mainly involves Draconians grouping up and living in the same area (usually a suburb or apartment complex) and having no non-Draconians in that area. They interact with human society through spells and artifacts designed to make them look human. Even in these times where mythical beings are becoming known to humans, Draconians do not stray from their teachings, and stay hidden.
Appearance: Pretend the armor and weapons aren't there.
Ark stands at about 6 feet tall. He is reasonably well built for a Draconian. He has nubs where his wings once were. His scales are a dull white. He tends to wear robes and cloaks. He prefers to wear looser clothing. On his right hand, there is a symbol seemingly burnt into his scales: A circle with a 2 perpendicular vertical lines, the Draconian symbol for Heretic.
Bio: Ark was born a light Draconian, with 2 fire Draconians as his parents. The Grand Oracle took him in as a servant, just like every other unholy male light Draconian. The Grand Oracle was a respectable woman of high class, though she treated the servants with such a vicious anger, that it made Ark think about their society. He spent 15 years as a worthless servent before he decided to speak up. He told the Grand Oracle about the injustice within their society. He was, of course, arrested. His wings were clipped, and he was labelled a heretic. The Draconian symbol for heretic was magically inscribed onto his hand. He was exiled, sent off into a world he was unfamiliar with.
Since then, he has been unable to truly connect with human society. He can speak and write in both english and draconian, mostly thanks to textbooks he stole from the Grand Oracle's great library. He has yet to meet anyone he can truly trust as an equal, but has been hoping to meet someone he can trust at Daelstadht Academy.
Personality: Ark is generally respectful, though he can get rather emotional. After he was labelled a heretic and exiled, he learned to resent most Draconian teachings. He still treats women with more respect than men (mostly out of habit), but he does not consider himself an elitist, and believes all people, regardless of species, to be equal. Ark is a rather dependable person, but he can seem rather distant and out of touch with modern society.
Quirks: Since he was never taught how to use his magic, he had to teach himself once he was exiled. He has a very slight grasp on the basics of fire and light magics. He can create small orbs of light or fire in his hands for a few minutes at a time.
I added info about the race, and a bio section to the sheet so that it would make a bit more sense.
Guys it's just a game, let's chill with the name calling and be friends here.
1) No specific mythical figures. A vampire is not Dracula, a demon is not Lucifer, an angel is not Michael, nor are they direct descendants of said beings. This is for simplicity.
@Black Alice Sorry, I was worried that the discussion was getting a little heated at the time >.<
Hmmmm... wait. I think this stuff about the draconians kinda conflicts with what I've already got, seeing as Fáfnir's mother isn't really a part of any "tribe", and Fáfnir looks completely different from Arky Ark and the funky bunch despite being more or less the same thing (i.e. the children of a human and a dragon).
Maybe we can sort this out with some explanation along the lines of "long ago the draconians became a distinct species from dragonborn when the draconians started mating more with dragons than humans, thus taking on more reptilian characteristics"?
Either way, we're gonna need to reconcile some of the differences in our sheetsz
I didn't think it was. Are you sure you're not reading into things a little too much?
Question: Can I play a member of a race who, as part of their canon, were all mothered by the same god from which they get their appearance? Say, how the Greek Cyclopes were (if I remember right) all or mostly fathered by Poseidon. The character won't have godly powers, obviously, but will pray to her.
As a bonus, it could be written in that in times of need the character may receive a blessing or talisman in the place of an ordinary 'power'.
