Brenner sees the new girl approaching himself, Cecelia, and William, giving a half-assed wave as he continues to play with a rubber band, weaving it around his fingers randomly "Welcome aboard." he greets calmly, "How do you feel about UFOs? ever seen one?" he inquires of the others bus riders, taking careful aim at the sleeping hitchhiker with a rubber band as he debates bringing him into the discussion.

William is sleeping restlessly. He always finds it difficult to find a comfortable spot on any seat. He now wishes that he had brought a pillow and a blanket.

The old man elects not to provide the hitchhiker with a rude awakening, instead slipping past his granddaughter and the young man who had joined them, taking a seat behind the newest passenger "Not a lot of people can sleep on public transportation." he states abruptly after settling in.

"Not a lot of people walk on the side of a highway for an hour." Emmett mumbled back, eyes still closed.

"Good point." he agrees, looking at the hiker cautiously "But WHY were you walking along the road for so long? he asks, leaning back in his seat and propping up one leg over a knee, wearing a not-so-subtle stare of suspicion.

Emmett grumbled at the voice and turned on his side to try to sleep better. He wasn't exactly in the mood for answering "why" questions.

As the drive goes on, you notice that the you're off the highways, and there's less and less traffic.

Soon, you notice the surroundings start to dim, and though the sun is still up, the clouds cover it making it dark and foreboding. There's a sudden bump, but the bus continues on. You feel another bump, and those near the driver hears him mutter "Oh, man." The bus slows to a stop as a small village to your right catches your eye.

The village looks small and close knit, and the structures appear as though they area decades behind. You hear the hissing sound from the speakers and the driver speaks.

"Uh.. Yeah. The engine's acting up a bit. We're almost at Howler's but..." he said, then looked at his watch, "we'll have to stay the night."

He points to the biggest and closest structure, then says it's an inn. "You can go and explore the village, but I don't advise that. If I were you, I'll get a room and rest. We can ask the agency for reimbursement later. Tomorrow morning, I'll fetch you at the inn and we'll drive up to Howler's."

You hear the hiss again, then the driver's droning voice. "Oh, and don't go out past sunset. Now, if you would just... you know. I gotta bring this to the mechanics."

William woke up to the sudden bumps. He rubs his eyes and looks out the window. He takes note of the driver's warning but it is not like few ,including him, will take heed. William turns to Brenner, Cecelia and a new person to the group. " Um. What is the plan?"@Camerch@Phantomlink959@Rogue Colm

Emmett felt the bus stop and cracked his eyes open. As his mind began waking up, Emmett gave a large yawn and stretched his arms. He heard the driver say something about staying the night in a hotel, which was absolutely out of the question for Emmett. There's a very good reason he was hitchhiking and not taking a bus or something like that: He basically has no money to spare at all, and he was pretty sure most hotels cost more than a bus ride. On the other hand, they might let him sleep on the couch in the lobby.

But anyways, it's still too early to worry about things like that. The sun's barely down. It would be a good idea to check out the village and see if there's anything useful around. For example, a map or a computer.

He turns around to face William and the others. "I reckon I'll be wandering the village. You never know what you can find here. Oh, I don't think I ever introduced myself." He extends a dirty hand. "Name's Emmett Brown. I'm making my way to The Cobbs, if you know where that is."

"Have to ask the granddaughter where we're headed." Brenner responds, standing up as the bus halts, he inhales slowly smelling the air "Cool, damp, reptilian paradise." he observes, pulling one of the poorly labelled bottle of alchohol from his bag and tucking it into a jacket pocket. "Question is, any wetlands in the area?" he finishes stepping off the bus and waiting at the doors for Cecelia.

Lane felt the jolt in the bus before it came to a complete stop. She looked around trying to work out exactly where they had stopped, she slowly gathered up her archery set and bag before walking off the bus. Lane noticed the group that was sitting behind her and though 'well not time like the present to make some friends' taking a deep breath she asked "Hey, my names Lane Would you mind if I joined your little group?" Lane really didn't want to have to spend tonight alone and was really hope they would say yes to her joining them for the night.

"Fine by me, but if you see anyone with scales pour some whiskey on them." the possibly insane old mane agrees and informs, patting the pocket currently containing 3 ounces of almost pure alchohol Reptilians are highly susceptible to alcohol poisoning."

"Good to know, but I don't have any whiskey or any alcohol on me for that matter," she replied looking very confused. She had no idea what the old man was on about nor was she about to ask as Lane was very scared of what might come out of his mouth next.

When you decide to leave the bus, it slowly moves along the road and turns the corner, to where you assume the mechanics' shop would be.

As you look around you, you notice more and more of the village. With it being away from the highway, there's a number of trees surrounding it for the most part. When you enter the village, you immediately see the inn. It is parallel to a road, and beside it are empty lots, which have houses beside it. Through the lots you notice even more trees, but you notice some bigger structures such as the tower of a church.

To the right side you see a dead end in the distance, with some establishments and houses. One notable establishment is a small diner.

To the left, you notice more trees, as well as the road turning the corner.

When you decide to enter the inn, you will notice that it has a small lobby. From the entrance, you will see to your right a wall, and to the left some couches and a coffee table. Directly in front would be the innkeeper, a stout middle aged man with a shaved head and a full beard.

"Yea, this place is not good." Brenner observes flatly, cautiously glancing around what is visible of the village

"Hey, you take what you can get is how I see it. This place beats city streets at least." Emmett replies to the old man, whose name he still didn't know. "I don't know about you, but I'm gonna see if there's a map or something in the inn. At least get our bearings straight."

"I wonder what the bus river meant but don't be out after sunset?" Lane asked thinking that the old guy might have a smart comment for her. Lane continued to follow the group as she walked towards the Inn, this place was giving her the creeps and she clutched her bow tighter in case she needed to use it quickly. Maybe a good night sleep will be all I need she thought still looking around the old building. "That's a good Idea with finding a map, might tells excatly where we are," Lane replied.

"And also if we have any wetlands that might be harboring undesirables." Brenner notes, adjusting his bracelet of rubber bands. "Always better to suspect and be wrong than be caught entirely off-guard

Cecelia opened her mouth to protest her grandfather's comment, she realized he wasn't using a crackpot theory and was 100% right. "Yeah, getting a lay of the land would be very useful. Anyone know where we could get a map...? This doesn't look like a place to have a 'Visitor's Center' in it."
