I have interest in making a chinese-style legendary general. A more authoritarian mythical figure may be needed to balance out the free spirits that run amok here.

Is such a figure possible here?

Jokes aside, it would be interesting if it were the Raitan gods maintaining the status quo, to keep the populace cowed and under their control.

If progress is what you want... I got something for that.

For that line alone, I'm writing Erebus an epic. No take backs, already writing it as we speak.

Well! I'm flattered, thank you! I shall look forward to it~

I believe our GM has said that the only rule for our characters is that they be "awesome." If you want an authoritarian Chinese-style general of legend, then make it the best one of those that you can make.

Good to have you with us!

We've done it. We've unleashed the beast.

From here on, Dawnscroll will pack each post with a perplexing amount of verbosity, and posts will gradually turn from one-act plays into volumes of the Odyssey.

As far as which legend has the most feats under their belt... well, depends on who wrote the character and how much background they really left out. Personally, I skipped quite a bit and omitted stuff that happened on Altim's journey to unite the West, but the gist is that he's basically Cynderian Jesus.

Erebus' history is pretty fast and loose- to be perfectly honest, even he's not sure which legends are true or not. Just write a bunch of stuff about him wrestling other dragons, leveling cities, breaking mountains, etc.

Oh, and include lots of fear- Erebus is the dragon other dragons fear.

I always play Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus when I read one of his posts, truly I am a wizard.

Erebus is the cuddliest of all the dragons.

Noted. :)

I will humbly claim that title for Cinnead.

Volkimir really doesn't have any historical or mythological analogy that I can think of. He's motivated almost entirely by selfish reasons, and is pretty detached from the majority of humanity.

You say that now, but when Transcience throws a pretty damsel/man in his way and this becomes a vampire rom-com I'm going to blame you.

About as likely to turn into a rom-com as when anyone else would upon encountering, say, a cheeseburger. Not to disparage any food lovers present, but my point stands.

I was Homer in a previous life, what can I say? Nah, in all seriousness, my future posts will be much shorter and far more concise in order to better conv-pfffttt hahahahahahaaha. Nope, couldn't keep that up with a straight face.

See, THIS is the issue I had with how the RP was set up.... and its not an issue, per say, but left me a bit of a loss for the character creation. How do you separate thousands of years of myths and legends to what is truly attributed to them? Did all our characters do what history said they did? Did Ansur wrestle three dragons? Was Vampy a true menace or sparkle bundle of hugs? Did Clarent trully slay six dragons in a single go? (Yes, but not in the way many of you might think... based on his song, PM me what you think he did to win.)

So I wrote both. I wrote his story from the perspective of others. Because as a writer... I feel that a lead characters story should never be told through their eyes. But the eyes of the characters around them.

Demon. Savior. Prince. Butcher. Knight. Orphan. Servant. Weapon. Commander. Protector. Clarent is all of these things. They don't make him good, bad, just or unfair. He is simply Clarent. Nothing more.

Because let's face it... in all reality, each of our character is simply a Man who woke up from death. Other than some spells and talents, how special are we trully?

@Dawnscroll See, that's one of the things that I actually really liked about the CS. It adds an element of surprise to the mix and you can choose what is truly them and what has been changed throughout time. It's a cool type of freedom. Also, none of the characters were alive at the same time, so they only know each other through the legends (if at all, depending on where they were on the time line from one another). The same goes for the entire populous of Ansus. By just having what their legends say, it helps everyone (especially our dear GM) know how the world should react around them, at least initially.

Could the CS have included a blurb on what they actually did or were like? Yeah, totally. But personally I prefer to get to know the people behind the legends via the IC, let it all unravel naturally and humanize them throughout the story.
