Time Lord
@Crimson Raven
Time Lord rose, and said to Ferrin, "In this time, Phoenix Wing is Fairy Tail. Strangely, it seems, a lot of their descendants made their way to Phoenix Wing, even if they don't know they are descended from them. Perhaps not so strange, really, considering the Masters" Time Lord mused, thinking now. "But I suggest if you wish answers, then you should join them. I'm more then sure you'll be happy in that guild. In fact, I'm very sure of it" With that almost cryptic message, Time Lord left the bathhouse.
The young man paused, and looked about, humming an odd tune as he thought on what to do now.
Ferrin simply smiled a deceiving and disarming smile. As he shifted slightly so his emblem was out of sight.
"Fairy Tale? Why do you bring them up?" But the man didn't answer and he walked away.
"Hey!" Ferrin called after the retreating figure.
"We will have a rematch one day, you can count on it!" Ferrin was left staring after him.
Does he has some connection to Fairy Tale? Ferrin thought.
And what was with that lame cryptic message? I have read fortune cookies more mysterious then that. Ferrin shook his head and put away those thought.
Ah, well, best to get going. Ferrin dried off, got dressed and headed out.
@Caits The day passed quickly, and by noon, Ferrin hadn't really found anything he had been looking for. He then wandered aimlessly around, seeing the sights and browsing a few different stores for nothing in particular. His feet eventualy brought him to the entance to the arena. The shouts and cheers from the crowd could easily be heard from where he stood. The place was also packed with people going in and coming out. Ferrin walked, mosly following the crowd, lost in thought. Suddenly he felt an impact and heard a startled
"Oomph!". He glanced down in surprise. He saw a young strange-looking kid. They had features that made it hard to tell if they were boy or girl, and had pale skin. They wore a large brown cloak with a hood that had fallen back to reveal red and blue hair that started red at the roots and turned blue at the tips, coupled with eyes that were a bright red.
"Hey! Watch where you are going, jerk!" Said the kid. Ferrin was rather startled by the kid's strange appearance, but he managed to say
"Sorry, I did not see you." The kid glared angrily at Ferrin.
"Well, try looking down sometimes, you big oaf!" The kid shouted. Ferrin admired the kid's spunk. Ferrin bent over and offered his left hand.
"Need help getting up?" He said. The kid swatted his hand away.
"I can do it myself." They said as they got to their feet.
Then, Ferrin witnessed somthing strange.
Between one blink and the next, the kid's eyes changed colors. Their eyes were now an icy blue and their expression changed to more wide-eye innocent look.
"Claire, the man was trying to help." They said, seeming to talk to themself. Their eyes changed back to red.
"If he had watched where he was going, we wouldn't have needed his help." The kid shouted at themself. Their eyes changed back to blue.
"Still, there was no need to be that rude."Thier eyes changed color again.
"I can be as rude as I want to be!"Eyes changed color.
"What kind of logic is that?"Eyes changed.
"My logic!"Eyes changed.
"Your logic stinks!"Eyes changed.
"Does not!""Does too.""Does not!""Does too." Ferrin rubbed his eyes as he watched this odd exchange, bemused. He had picked out the voice with the red eyes as feminine, and the voice with the blue eyes as masculine, and started to use the appropriate pronouns in his head.
"Uhh, sorry to interrupt this conversation but--" The kid rounded on him, eyes flashing red,
"Don't talk to me, I don't like you." She said. Ferrin recoiled.
Rejected! He thought.
"Don't be like that, sis." The kid turned to Ferrin.
"I apologize for my sister's rudeness, mister." He said, putting his hand on his chest.
"I'm Colt, and you have met my sister, Claire." Ferrin nodded slowly.
"Okaaay, can I ask...what exactly are you?" The kid's eyes changed to red and she kicked him in the shin.
"Ow!" Ferrin said, mostly out of refex, because it didn't actually hurt.
"Claire!" Colt said.
"What? He deserved it!" Claire responded.
This is too weird. Ferrin thought, as the kid started arguing with themself about weither they could kick strangers or not.
"I don't have time for this." Ferrin said, as he started to walk away.
"Hey, wait mister!" The kid moved in front of Ferrin.
"What do you want?" Ferrin asked. The kid's eyes turned red.
"Colt, why are we talking to this weirdo?" Ferrin's eye twiched.
Takes two to know one. He thought. Their eyes turned blue.
"Shush, sis." Back to red.
"Don't "shush" me!" Claire protested. Eyes blue.
"Mister, are you a wizard?" Eyes red.
"Don't ignore me either!" Eyes blue. Ferrin looked at him strangely.
"Me and about a thousand others here. Why?" Colt looked embarrassed.
"Well...you see...we--" Eyes red.
"You." Eyes blue.
"I," He amended,
"Was hoping you could help us." Ferrin shook his head.
"I am not the only wizard here, and, as much as I hate to say it, probably not the most powerful here. Besides," He added.
"I am mixed up in some bad business and can't involve you." The kid looked extremely crestfallen.
"Oh...sorry to bother you then..." Ferrin look on them with pity.
Who could refuse a face like that? At that moment, the kid's stomach rumbled loudly. Colt looked embarrassed. Ferrin sighed. The situation was incredibly weird and getting weirder by the minute, but Ferrin decided to just roll with it.
"Come on, I will buy you something to eat, and then we can talk about what you need help with." Colt brightened immediately.
"Really?! Thanks, mister!" Ferrin started walking but he turned around when he notaced the kid wasn't following him. "What is wrong?" He asked. The kid's red eyes looked away.
"I'm not hungry." Claire said. Her stomach growled again, not convinced. Her cheeks turned red.
"When was the last time you ate, Colt?" He said to Claire.
"Don't answer----about two days ago." Colt said, interrupting themself. Colt then peered at Ferrin.
"You are taking our...oddness remarkably well. Most people freak out and pelt us with questions...or stones." He winced. Ferrin rubbed the back of his head,
"I admit, I am a little weirded out, but I have seen stranger things. Not by much, but still stranger. Or perhaps I am just good at acting. Now, come on, I will feed you."
"What would you like to eat?"Eyes blue.
"Fish!"Eyes red.
"Chicken!""I should have known..."
"Hey, you, wait up!" Valak turned as a voice called out, to see who they were talking to. It turned out to be Valak himself. A man, tall and blond with a crystal in his left cheek ran up to Valak.
"You are the guy who helped me out the other day. Thanks for that, I never caught your name." "Valak, who're you?" Valak said. Layle grinned.
"What, you don't remember me?" Valak stared at him for a second, then blinked in reconition.
"You. Stuck in that tree. Covered in mud. ...Layle?" "Right-o, thats me! Anyways, I never though I would meet you here. Funny how fate seems to have brought--." Valak started walking away. Layle sputtered in surprise.
Hey! Where are you going?" Valak looked over his shoulder with one dispassionate eye.
"Shopping." He said.
Huh? Layle thought.
"I'll go with you." He said. Valak shrugged.
An hour later, they were paying for the requested meat. Layle turned to Valak.
"What in the world would you need all this meet for? Are you feeding an army?" Valak just shrugged. Layle raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well, you are a real chatter box." Valak nodded as he gathered up the meat.
"Oh, I can help with that. Layle said. He held up his hand and snapped his finger. The was a transparent, light blue, glow from below the stack of meat, then it started levitating. It floated to Layle and followed him.
"See? Cool, huh?" "Handy." Valak observed.
Hah! So that got a comment out of you!" Layle crowed. Valak rolled his eyes and lead the way back to the hotel, with Layle following him and the meat following Layle.
Valak knocked on the door, once, before going in without a word. Layle filed in, and Valak pointed to the bed. Layle, though had caught sight of Mithera. His jaw dropped for a moment and he stood there, speechless. Valak crossed his arms and stared at him.
Its...its...SO CUTE! Layle rushed over to Mithera, scooped her up and started snuggling her.
Itssocute. Itssocute,sounbelievablycute,socuteIjustwanttosnuggleit,awwww." He gushed in a torrent of words. Valak raised his eyebrow.
Not gonna end well. He thought.
