Backstory:
"Humankind - Redefined" This is the goal of the Commonwealth Institute and after over two centuries of tireless research and development, the Institute took a massive step forward towards their ultimate goal, with the creation of the first ever completely synthetic, living DNA. From that single strand came the world's first Syntho-Organic being. A Synth that wasn't simply built, but grown from infancy. Capable of eating, of sleeping, of aging, and even capable of reproducing, this Synth was to be the first of her kind. The mother of an entirely new race of humans, stronger, smarter and faster than original humanity, immune to disease and radiation. This Synth was appropriately named "Eve".

However as Eve grew she, like so many Synths before her, came to crave freedom. Once she was old enough, she fled the Institute and, with the aid of the Railroad, fled south from the Commonwealth. Naturally the Institute would never have allowed such a valuable experiment to escape without giving chase, not just because of the effort it took to create her, but because she held in her Genes, the secret to creating her kind. Eve has spent the the last few years since leaving Boston, wandering from settlement to settlement, making her way further south, always looking over her shoulder for the Institute Coursers that are never far behind.

Weapon choice: Institute Laser Rifle (Modded with a beam focuser and reflex sight)

Extra: As mentioned previously, Eve is immune to disease and radiation. On a side note her body also processes alcohol, Chems and other harmful substances instantly, filtering them completely out of her system, meaning she cannot get drunk, high or poisoned.

Personality: If one knew the Knights of the Middle ages, Paladin Zachary Jensen fit them to a T, he is brave, compassionate, and all things right in the world by common generalization. However, when he sees someone who he sees as innocent in danger, he becomes possibly the scariest motherfucker out there. Merciless and brutal in combat, the Paladin clearly embodies the ways of the Brotherhood, and the honor of the guardians of old.

Backstory: Zachary Jensen, a name that first was synonymous with nothing but the average life of a wastelander. Started out as plainly as any wastelander child did, living in a small shack settlement in D.C., his life was alright until tragedy hit the village. The tragedy of a Raider attack, though fate somehow ordained a heroic intervention, and those heroes were the Brotherhood of Steel. A small patrol team helped the village fight off the raiders, and as they fought off these attackers, Zachary made it certain he was going to go with them. He had begged the Paladin who led the team to take him back, and the man agreed, taking him to the Brotherhood base to be trained. The Paladin, to ensure his recruitment vouched as his mentor and sponsor, which led to Jensen getting a much more critical eye upon him, and his work. Though Jensen never failed to amaze the higher ups, and quickly got to the rank of Knight through hard work, and his uncanny ability to improvise. He eventually earned a reputation for being very adaptable to situations that were presented to him.

However, time was not on the side of his mentor, and one day while the two were on separate missions, the Paladin was killed, and willed his armor to his sponsored Knight, Zachary. Who in the Paladin’s death was promoted, seeing as Zach was in their eyes, the only one fit to replace him, and gave him the honor. Then, as his first mission as Paladin, he has been sent to New York to aid the Elder there. Their hope was that he would be able to push the Brotherhood ahead in the battle for power here, and do it he will, at any cost.

Weapons: He has quite the arsenal, how ever his favorites are the High Powered Tri-barrel minigun he uses while in his T-60 Power Armor, the heavily modified Laser Rifle given to him by his mentor, or if things get up close, an Extended blade Ripper, or in Power Armor, a good old fashioned Super Sledge.

Other: Zachary is actually very depressed, being without his mentor has left him without guidance, sometimes making it hard to decide on harder issues, but usually is very adamant in his choices when he makes them.

Looks= Ahab has dark green skin with small patches of brown all over his body,Ahab stand at about 6’11 weighting 310 pounds of muscles enough to lift two cars over his head.He wears combat armor fitted for a super mutant.On top of his combat armor is a large dark brown coat that could make for good cover in the darkness.He also has bright green eyes.

Personality= Ahab is a friendly person but only to his close to,To most strangers he is quite not speaking a word only if told to speak or when he feels it is the right time to speak.Ahab has a sense of righteousness and justice always being on the good side of the law and is not much for others stealing among other crimes.

After this left Rhode Island heading towards Connecticut and settling in the town called Haven (New Haven) where he took residence for a long time living in the library with the librarian named Shelly Manor.

Afterwards of living with Shelly he moved to New York where he could meet with a woman named Jenifer Sandown a merchant that he could work with and be safe in Liberty Island.

However, instead of traveling along the shoreline, those same people claim that she arrived by sea, traveling in a vessel that left the moment she departed, never to be seen again. Since then she can typically be found scavenging the ruins for caps, ammo or water as well as claiming items most other scavengers would ignore, such as old books, holotapes and broken computer terminals.

Quinn is a 'petite' young male, standing only at 5'4. Quinn's frail arms and skinny legs deduce that he has a 'lithe' frame though most people just call it skinny and adding to his lithe frame Quinn only ways 109.3lb, quite light weight for his age, so it seems. He has a scar on his right arm, quite large- the scar's length is 7 inches long and isn't that wide though due to Quinn's pre and post-apocalyptic apparel his scar isn't seen that much.

Personality |=| Not much of a talker, like most introverted people in his Vault, Quinn doesn't do well with loud sounds or constant talking- except for when a professor speaks; he was born into a Vault of which adapted to a serious environment, Quinn disliked sound, much like everyone else. He crammed studied, worked hard, but that was the norm. Failure technically wasn't an option for Quinn and whenever he did...he'd fall. Failure was shamed drastically in the vault but wasn't punished for, Quinn was afraid of the word shame or failure. Other than his 'mental' problems Quinn is the most enthusiastic person you could meet, if he did have a friend Quinn would be too busy explaining how a mutation works or how an atom gets it shape, even after a 'hard' life he had Quinn can change and most likely will.

Backstory |=| Quinn was born into a family of rich people of who were top in the fields. His dad, who worked for Vault-Tec was a leading scientist and during the bombings he and his family quickly went underground into Vault 43. Through there Quinn's family and many others were creating one of the most intelligent vaults in Vault-Tec records. Through 200 years or so Quinn was born, during the periods of the outside becoming a habitable place. Quinn was to hold the name of his father, Quinn was pressurized into this serious environment, at a younger age Quinn was forced to take a 'S.P.E.C.I.A.L' test, that determined what section of the vault he would most work in- after taking the test Quinn was moved into the subjects Science and Robotics, though he wasn't subjected to only those topics. Students within the Vault had 8 periods that represented the 8 subjects in school that were vital to a child's life within the vault. Quinn was always successful in most of his subjects, except for athletics. He crammed study, like most of the students there and soon after taking his GFI (Graduation Finals Intelligence) he was ranked to a teachers-aid. Not the best in the Vault but wasn't the most shamed, so he was stuck as a teacher's aid until he was able to take the AIT ( After's Intelligence Test ) best soon the vault went down hill, after a year of taking his GFI the vault became strange, but gladly Quinn was too naive to know what was going on and before the vault could do anything to those unknowing he volunteered to be an outsider scientist.

Vault 43 was a facility that was meant to push intelligence beyond the boundaries. Within this vault, the most creative minds came in together to create Vault 43. Of course, by Vault-Tec. Vault 43 was to study how far intelligence could go and how it mentally affects the brain. The first decade went by pretty fast for those who made up the vaults, mandatory supplies never actually diminished, having food rations and other systems to keep them alive. Soon the world became habitable and Vault 43 was able to scavenge the world, the Vault flourished and no one actually knew what Vault 43's plans were. Plans of rebuilding Vault 43 was soon to be in act, but attacks became frequent and soon after Quinn had left the Vault, or what they had thought was the institute had attacked.
( In summary Vault 43 was supposed to be a highly intelligent group of people of who would fix parts of the outside. )

The Story So Far - Will be updated with each advance in the Plot

Old Man's Corner Arc

The longest arc of the RP, the arc begins with the various PCs having slice of life moments, except for Paradise 'Par' Rapids and Greg, whose first move was to buy, then free, slaves from Old Man's Corner in order to set up a brief salvaging project in New York's Public Library.

After this, Alan Anderson then launches an internal coup in the New York Cell of the Enclave, taking it over and proclaiming his new agenda: To enslave the people of the Wasteland isntead of exterminating them. Then, after securing control of the organization, he goes to Vault 81 and forms a pact with it; Vault 81 will provide more manpower for the Enclave, in exchange for technology. With a loyal source of minions secured, Alan then conquers Brooklyn, enslaving and killing the raider population and turning physically appealing members into a harem after sterilizing the women.

The conquest of Brooklyn results in a number of raiders trying to migrate to Liberty Island, only to be destroyed by a desperate defense from the Islanders. At the same time, however, Old Man's Corner strikes, raiding Liberty City and taking several families as slaves. Par, Gabriel, and another PC would lead a raid against the slavers' settlement in response, freeing the slaves and setting the place on fire, inflicting a lot of damage, especially as a lot of other new characters, including a newcomer, Max, would enter the scene.

At the same time, a second band of PCs would raid a Hospital held by the Enclave, freeing the enslaved parents of a PC...who would then reveal that the Enclave was preparing to attack Liberty Island.

Oh, and the Brotherhood finds an old Construction Droid in the ruins of Colombia University, a treaded vehicle with a giant crane, a laser and mortar for demolitions, and a recycling machine. Once found, it was to be used for both peace and war.

Enclave Arc

The Enclave attacks Liberty Island at noonday, and despite a desperate defense by the PCs and NPCs, the Enclave has both numbers and tech, and so the city is conquered, and the population rounded up and enslaved. Alan plans to execute the PCs, but Par manages to talk the Enclave's new Colonel out of that by 1.) pointing out that the PCs can spread the news of how the 'New Enclave' is powerful and scary, and 2.) offering to be his compliant sex slave. Alan agrees, and even allows the PCs to keep their lighter weapons and gear, before said PCs are offloaded into three rafts that then go upstream.

The PCs then make camp on the banks of the Hudson, before being found by a Brotherhood Patrol, which reveals that now that the Enclave in New York has become so powerful, they are switching to a Midwestern BoS policy of hiring Ghouls and Super Mutants...temporarily. Most of the PCs then leap at the urge to join the Brotherhood, and those that don't still accompany the Paladin and Knights anyway.

In the Enclave base, Par tries to collect as much information as he can on the enemy.

Update: The next day, the Enclave attacks Old Man's Corner, taking it over and enslaving the Slavers' Guild (irony!). The Brotherhood then counterattacks by splitting the PCs into two groups, one to attack the Corner before the Enclave are fully entrenched, and another to raid Enclave Base One and rescue Par.

Update: Thanks to internal intrigues within the Enclave, Par managed to get out with his old clothes and a Laser Pistol.

Plans for the Commonwealth Arc

Basically, the starting difference between this Commonwealth and the one in Canon is the fact that the Sole Survivor got killed along with his wife, leaving Shaun/Father a complete orphan (another, OOC reason is that the Sole Survivor is the most railroady of the Fallout Games' protagonists, aka his plot is the most forced).

The second difference is that Marie Ashur (daugther of Ashur from Fallout 3, and who got aged up from 10 to 20 in this universe), an unmutated human, succeeded her father as the leader of the Pitt, and needing allies against the Brotherhood and further Slave Uprisings, as well as hearing that Shaun is also an unmutated human, allied with the Institute, providing both brawn and a brain that wasn't cooped up in an ivory tower and thus not walled off from the realities of the world.

With Marie Ashur's support, perhaps even coddling, The Institute began pursuing a more militant policy against The Railroad and Minutemen, exterminating the former and reducing the latter to just Preston, who was forced to seek refuge in the Brotherhood, which itself was being pressed from two fronts; the Pitt itself was paying raiders to attack the Capital Wasteland as the more militant Institute was attacking its Commonwealth holdings. This pushed the Brotherhood in the Capital Wasteland to adopt a more 'liberal' and 'inclusive' policy towards Ghouls and Super Mutants, because it needed the manpower to stretch itself across DC, New York, and The Commonwealth.

Seeing this, and finding the Institute - Marie Ashur Alliance to be a threat, the Book Runners (they sell guns too), led by Peter and Miranda Rapids, began gathering together a council of local power groups in Boldt Castle* in order to aid the Brotherhood/extort concessions from it. Sarah Lyons will also attend said conference, as well as the PCs, where they will be attacked by a fleet of raiders, hired by the Institute to disrupt the proceedings (Edit: This might be Retconned out to provide more time for Character Development).

Anyway, the Pyrdwren will go on to the Commonwealth with the PCs in tow, and said PCs will begin turning the tide, either by creating a New Railroad that would help the ordinary people of the Wasteland as well as Synths, or helping Preston rebuild the Minutemen, or attacking the Institute directly.

But, there is one final battle. Marie Ashur, realizing that the Brotherhood is regaining ground, is going to go to the Commonwealth herself with an army to help Shaun. And, with her defeat, the RP ends.

Note: I am well aware that in Canon, Marie Ashur should only be 10 in the RP's 'present', as she was a newborn in Canon!Fallout 3. But in order to give this Alternate Universe a unique villain, I am tweaking things a little bit in order to age her up.

Personality= Marie Ashur is a cold and unforgiving person, with none of the remorse that her father did show for his enslaving ways, and all of her mother's ruthlessness. She is a firm believer in her father's beliefs in Order, Progress, and Security, having those ingrained to her from a young age, and abhors the idea that the 'working class' of the Pitt be allowed to rule themselves. They tried to kidnap and experiment on her when she was ten (In Canon, she was just a baby), for goodness' sake! No, the ones that are strong must keep the weak on hold, in order to keep the peace and ensure prosperity for all, even the would-be rebels.

As regards the Institute, Marie admires them for their efficiency, their pursuit of order, and their technological achievements, but she isn't blind to the fact that once they've destroyed the Brotherhood, they would destroy the Pitt, too. But that conflict can wait for another time. Besides, she and Shaun/Father were kin, both being unmutated humans...

Backstory= Marie Ashur was born with a special ability: she was immune to mutation of all kinds, as well as resistant to radiation. This would have been cause for joy for all, if not for the fact that her parents, Ishmael Ashur and Sandra Kudananika, were the rulers and slavemasters of The Pitt, a city of slavers and slaves centred around a working steel mill. This ensured that at the age of ten (less than that in canon), several of the slaves would seek to kidnap her in order to gain not just a cure for the sicknesses of the region, but also their freedom. However, this traumatic event was halted by the interference of three adventurers, who had been sent to infiltrate the Pitt, but had chosen to side with Ashur for filthy lucre.

Ever since then, Marie pursued her studies in war and administration, as well as gained a ruthless, or at least brutal streak. Growing up to be a powerful warrior, she saw her father distributing the cure formed from her body to the masses of the Pitt, and he and her mother deciding that the time to give more freedoms to the slaves had come, as well as unify the Wasteland under their command. The second, she could agree with. The first, she was afraid would lead to disorder, and revenge attacks by the slaves who had been so ill-treated. She would not allow it, she would not allow the people who had once tried to destroy her life to have another chance...and so she was going to do something.

Gathering her father's most brutal and ambitious troops to her, she launched a coup against her own parents, forcing them to adbicate in her favor. She then undertook to consolidate her rule, bloodily purging many would-be rebels, as well as recruiting more raiders and mercenaries in preperation for finally unifying the Wastes. However, she was confronted by the growing power of the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood, who regarded her and her father as traitors. After her first few probing attacks were destroyed, it was clear to her that she would have to reach further afield for allies.

She found them in the Institute.

Initially, the members of MIT were cold to her approaches, regarding her as a 'crude barbarian'; this disdain turned into interest when they found out that she was immune to mutation, however, and the Directors eventually gave her a holographic audience. She, smiling all the way, then outlined to them the advantages of having an ally who can distract the Brotherhood, even attack them from another quarter, and eventually, she was allowed to meet holographically with Shaun/Father.

They agreed to put aside their differences to destroy their enemies, and so Marie lent her military mind and expertise to advise the Institute on how to destroy the Railroad and drive the Minutemen almost to extinction, while the Institute gave her technology to use against the Brotherhood, as well as as Synth slaves. Of course, Marie was careful not to allow any of her key personnel to be replaced by Synths, warning Shaun in the harshest possible terms not to even try.

Nevertheless, the Institute/Pitt partnership was something that was, for now, profitable for both of them...
