Wait... does she keep her surname? Or does she take Wylde?

I am going into this with little knowledge of Game of Thrones apart from the first book (which I started). Based on what I know of royalty, I believe it would depend. I think she'd take your name as you are her husband and will be a minor lord. Her brother is probably in charge of carrying the family name.

Women from noble Houses in Westeros often take on their husband's surname - though this is not automatic and many do not. Essentially, if a noblewoman "marries up" into a more powerful noble family, she will tend to shift to using the name of her husband's House. Conversely, if a noblewoman marries into a less powerful noble House (i.e., if she is one of the younger daughters in the family, not able to secure as good of a match) then she will often retain the use of her original family name, to remind everyone of her social and political ties. If their two families are of roughly equal power - such as if they are both from Great Houses that rule entire kingdoms - then the situation is more variable, and is more dependent on personal choice.

FYI

That doesn't help me much. Is your family high up in power @agentmanatee? If not, then my question will be answered.

The Wylde's station isn't too high. Basically you'd have no reason not to take his family name though.

I'd imagine the Wylde's are a bit higher up though, based on what I heard. But yeah, pretty sure I can take either or.

Its seems about equal to house Vypren, so I really think it is up to you, well rather than bannermen of tully they are bannermen of the baratheons so... maybe a bit higher

Wylde: Holds a major stronghold (Rain House), also is a minor vassal of a Great House.

Vypren: Holds a major city (Fairmarket) due to our canon, also is a minor vassal of a Great House.

About equal if you draw lines in the sand. Looks like House Vypren has been around since before Aegon's Conquest and have some mentions about importance.

Historical Ancestors:
Vorian Vypren
Jasper Wylde

Looks good overall, just a couple of nitpicky things:
- As far as that quote at the top goes, i can't imagine that a highborn lady's focus would very often be on "dispatching those who oppose her." "To solve my problems" might make more sense.
- It's J-O-N Jon Wylde, not J-O-H-N. Blame it on GRRM.

Other than that, it looks great. Accepted.

I intend to have news of the battles reach our characters shortly after RP start. Ned's still in the black cells, and Stannis hasn't started spreading his allegations.

Hey, I know this may or may not be useful or important, but sense it has none stated I've come up with a few ideas for the words of House Wylde, and I'd like your guys opinions on them, so I can choose the best one

"Take what they owe"
"From the waves, we rose
"Conquered by none"
"For, our nights are full of terrors"(this one would represent lord Casper's new devotion to R'hllor, but I'm not sure how house words can be changed so...)
"Devotion eternal"
"We bring the storm"

Thats what I have atm... thoughts? Or variation ideas?

So, I saw this and started watching my DVD set of GoT again, so I am interested, if there is still room.

Though, this will be my first Advanced roleplay and I know about the Lore more than the story since I have yet to read the books.

They're just so massive!! D:

But anyways, mind squeezing in another?

Since @DeltaV ain't online atm I'll tell you, yes we are indeed open. We have 1 more cannon position open if you'd like that, OR you can create your own character. Rules are on the first page and I would read the character sheet template their for advice on what should be in your character sheet. It also has info on the RP in general

Hey @FantasyChic what do you think of the house words for house Wylde? Which one do you think is best?

Yep, there's absolutely space for more people. In particular, we could use more non-knight types: Maesters, septons, that kind of thing.
