"Please, don't make a big deal of it. It's something I'm relatively used to. Honestly, I expected you to feel more put off by it. Some people here wish they could avoid me completely I'm sure," Thomas said, reaching out to take Katherin's hand again. She was right, they needed to get back to the others. Keeping his free hand on the rail, he carefully feels for the next stair before putting his weight on it each time.

Now safely on the ground floor, Thomas leads Katherin towards the gym. As they get closer his anxiety builds, fed in part by her nervousness about meeting the others. He was nowhere close to controlled enough to hide it from her, but with an effort of focus he was able to keep their emotions distinctly separate.

Katherin carefully made her way down the stairs. She was too focused on trying not to fall to pay attention to the emotions that Thomas was sending through her. She slowly slid her foot forward until she found the edge of the stair. Then she lowered her foot slowly until she found the one below her. It was slow going but she was able to make her way down the stairs without falling. "Thank you for your help Thomas. Now where is the gym from here?"

Leon nodded as their little group disbanded just as quickly as it had formed and with a light sigh he turned to the gym, but before he could even make a move Haven was standing next to him, he laughed at her first question a bit, "Yeah this place is weird...I don't really know what to expect..." when she complimented his hair he blushed a bit he rarely had anybody telling him he looked good specially not a girl like Haven, "Thanks...It's always been that color not really sure why..." He gave her a bright smile and turned to the gym, "You wanna try moving at my speed?" He looked at her with serious eyes so she would know he wasn't joking. But just then Leo and some new girl walked in, "Hold that thought..." Leon smiled big at the two of them, Leo and Brooke, "Hello there...I'm Leon...Fastest guy I know."

Brooke followed Leo to the gym. On their way, they passed a redheaded girl and a boy whom Leo waved to. Then they were at a massive, open room with polished floors - the gym.

Brooke stiffened as she took in the others - a girl, a bit taller than her, and a boy with light blue eyes. There was another boy, looking about her age, a little further away. One person was ok, but she didn't do well in groups of strangers. Distracted by her mounting anxiety, Brooke barely noticed Leo's introductions. For a moment, she wanted to crawl into a hole, to be anywhere but here. A rectangular patch of space beside her visibly shimmered, a portal starting to form without her conscious decision as her power responded to the desire to escape.

No. Brooke willed the unfinished portal to disappear. She didn't know where the other end of the portal led - besides, there was no place left to escape to.

She could do this. She could. It was just meeting a few more people, who had barely been here longer than she had. They might be nervous too. They were probably nice.

The other boy, Leon, was smiling and introducing himself again. Brooke thought that she was supposed to respond, but it seemed like Leo had already said everything about her that needed saying. What did people usually do in these situations? Brooke couldn't remember, so she took a guess and awkwardly stuck her hand out for a handshake.

Leo looked at the rectangular patch of... something, space, appeared beside Haven. The teen didn't know what he should do at times like this but he knew that the user, Brooke, could at least do something to make it disappear. If not, well then, he'd have to be forced to knock her out for the time being. He never liked it when he was ordered to do something like that when some previous kids' powers went out of control. He was tasked to do something like that because he was trained in martial arts and he knew exactly where to strike to make someone sleep. He waited and saw that the portal disappeared and Brooke seemed to have calmed down, hopefully.

"Well... that was something. Portal?" He asked as he looked at her with a curious look on his face. So... that was her power? Must be something to make portals appear and stuff like that. Wait... if those were portals then she can technically teleport and now Leon knows someone who can be as fast as him! Wow, that was great. He then smiled at her and then placed a hand on her shoulder and then whispered to her, "Maybe you should... be more chill. Don't worry alright?" He then leaned back and placed his hand inside his pocket once more.

"Just down this hall, not far now. I'm sure the others have probably started without us by now," Thomas said as he led Katherin towards where everyone else was gathered. He didn't need the wall to guide him now, but he walked slowly for her sake. He had remembered this hall feeling endless the first time he had walked it alone. That had been a long time ago, now he had much of the building's floor plan committed to memory.

Brooke had hoped that they wouldn't notice her slip-up, but it appeared that they had. In response to Leo's question, she clarified, "Kind of. If it was complete, you'd be able to see the other side." After all, light could pass through her portals just like anything else.

When he put his hand on her shoulder and whispered to her, she jumped a little, surprised by the contact. Slightly indignant, she wanted to protest that being chill was much easier said than done. She wanted to defend herself and explain that it was an accident, and that it was natural for her not to be in complete control of the powers she'd just gotten. But instead Brooke nodded in acquiescence, because he was right. Worrying wouldn't help anyone, and she could've endangered them by doing so if it made her powers go out of control. "Ok. I'll try."

Then she turned to the others in the room. "I'm sorry. I won't lose control again," she apologized.

William walked over to the group "hello everyone" he says with a slight grin. "what you all talking about over here?" he asks as he is also trying to concentrate on his surroundings feeling out any electrical wire in the walls and such. Listening to it as it tells him things about the orphanage.

Katherin could hear the other teens in the gym. She wasn't looking forward to the gym it woukd be a big empty echoey room. But she knew that they woukd have to be there. She stopped at the doorway. And tilted her head to listen. It didn't really help. There were too many sounds at once. "If there are bleachers or someplace to sit out of the way I would suggest we go there."

A police car drove up to the orphanage. The cop inside watching the small girl suspiciously. The car had been stopped multiple times by animals crossing infant of it. Anya was staring out the window longly at the trees wishing to climb away. She was polite though and kept her manners so they though of her to be polite and well mannered though really she was energetic and wanted to run about and be free like she was.

They let her out of the car with only an instruction not to run away. She obeyed, reluctantly when faced with the mean cops. They reminded her of bears, she hated bears. So she walked up to the door of the orphanage. Knocking on the door bowing her head politely as the police car drove off leaving her alone. Wondering where чаяние went off to and if she would be back. Maybe she could run away back to the forest with her friends.

jack shambled along the sidewalk doing his best not to fall over, he had been walking for hours with a nasty cut in his eye after the uproar with father, he had heard about a place where people like him could live without fear, after a few hours, he finally arrived,he walked up to the door and raised his hand to knock, but hesitated, he thought about what might happen if he lost his temper at a place like this, he coudldnt possibly stop himself from hurting anyone let alone no one.

he kocked on the door and hoped for the best

"Right," said Thomas, raising his free hand to the wall. "Hope we don't have to stay here long. She knows I hate this room..." he continues, referring to the caretaker. He led Katherin towards the simple bleachers situated on one side of the room. They were little more than a series of raised benches, but it would serve. On the way to them he misjudges the distance, and ends up hitting the corner of the lowest bench with his shin. Sucking in a breath through his teeth, he flexes his foot until the pain starts to fade.

"I was going to say we should be safe over here, but I may have spoken too soon."

The housekeeper frowned. She really needed to start the day. She went to the door. She opened the door to find a boy and a girl on the steps. She sighed. It was going to be one of those days. "Come in. Follow the others to the gym please. We ate already running late."

@Polaris North@KatherinWinterjack sighed as he stepped through the door, he could hear many people on the other end,he put a hand to his eye, he realized that the blood had halted and it was ok, he was more worried though about the mass of people in the area, this filled him with dread, but he pressed on, he saw a few people walking to the gym, at this rate he was a couple feet behin them, but didnt speak to them, he lifted his hood over his head and shoved his hands in his pockets,jack wasnt a praying man but he hoped to god that nothing bad would happen@makarov@BreakingMe

Anya nodded, she wasn't hungry she had eaten some acorns with a squirrel she met. Tim was his name. Funny name for a squirrel she thought. The lady looked grumpy but late days were not good so she walked inside. Hoping the lady would lead the way. Staying away from the boy who joined her on the steps. Slightly scared of him like a rabbit would be a blood hound.

jack noticed the girl who came in begin to feel uneasy around him, he looked to her and said in a dull voice:relax, im not gonna hurt you, you dont have to be afraid thos were word he wanted to belive, hopefully, they would be true

"Ha, cool. Show me the complete thing later alright?" Leo politely requested with a smile. Hearing her response, he just flashed a smile at her. He then stood aside with his hands in his pockets. He wanted to at least let everyone get to know each other since he could always do that later. He liked to see everyone mingle with each other. It was nice to see how people took it slow since he usually goes about everything faster. If there wasn't any new people around, he would've rushed everything he had to do. Thomas and Ms. Smith would be used to that already.

Ms. smith headed to the gym. "Please be seated everyone. First I woukd like to welcome our new arrivals. I know who scary and confusing arriving here can be. Let e assure you that no one here will think that you are odd, strange, or scary. Everyone here can o something that most people can not do. The benefactor built this orphanage because he was kicked out of his home when his powers appeared when he was thirteen. He was up unable to find another home because of his ability. He did not want others like him to suffer the way he had."

Leo looked as Ms. Smith went inside and did as she told them to do. He quickly sat down when she told them to do so. He already knew this story, even did research on the owner but nothing came up. Apparently, their dear benefactor didn't want to get his identity leaked... or he just wasn't searching hard enough. Maybe he'll ask Ms. Smith personally since he didn't think of ever doing that in fear that maybe she'll get angry.

William looked as Ms Smith arrived and sat down as told sense didn't want to cause any trouble, he listened to her as she spoke, especially about the benefactor of this place. He would look at his hand closing it and remembering his own past.
