Bio: Archer learned of his ability at a young age. He was about five when he discovered that he could perfectly mimic the other kids at his kindergartner. He didn't change his appearance that often. He preferred to be more discreet. But when he was eight and his sister was born, he would sometimes entertain or comfort her with his mimicking. He knew he would do anything for his sister. He and his sister were orphaned when their parents died in a car crash.

Bio: As a baby Ivonette would try to eat everything. And often she did. She would gnaw on furniture, solid foods, the walls, everything. She would bite through furniture. She was a problem child. She was a quiet girl. She didn't socialize much. The car accident that caused her and her brother's to be orphaned changed Ivonette's life forever. Ivonette had been in the car at the time, they had been on their way to pick up a Archer from his club activity. Their car was hit and totaled. Her parents died and Ivonette received a bad wound. An injury to her spinal cord witch caused her to lose the use of her legs.

Bio: Due to his 'condition,' as well as an actual physical infirmity, Thomas lived a rather sheltered life when he was young. Besides being blind from birth, he was known to exhibit peculiar behavior for apparently no reason. Doctors and psychologists could only explain his occasional bizzare behavior as severe mood swings. Only he knew that the powerful emotions he experienced were the result of the feelings of those around him. Thomas lost his mother when a fire destroyed the building she worked nights in, leaving him oblivious to the loss until the police came around later the next day. That was the day that then seven-year-old Thomas first set foot in the orphanage.

Bio: Haven might as well have grown up an orphan. With no father to speak of and a mother who would rather chase her high than care for her child, Haven was on her own more often than not. She excelled in school but often found herself in fights because of her sarcastic, aggressive and combative nature. One day she came home from school early on a suspension and found a man beating her mother to death. The man came after her but she managed to escape the house in time. She was picked up by the police after living on the streets for nearly a week. They sent her to the "special" orphanage after she healed a boy who had fallen at the first children's home the placed her in. Now she's just biding her time until she's old enough to be out on her own.

Bio: Leo was born under the Vladernhearth clan, a clan known for their multiple dojos across the world. He was born to be a fighter, whether it be hand to hand combat or some other form of combat. The parents kept young Leo's power a secret in fear that the other branches of the large family would come after him for experiments. However, one day his parents died in a plane crash leaving the boy alone. The parents left a note to the butler to take Leo to the orphanage if ever they die before he turned 18.

And so, when he was but 8 years old, he was sent to the orphanage. He was already told by his butler that he had to stay there because of his unnatural abilities and the butler was never seen again.

Bio: Kind and sweet boy even with what he went through when he was born/created but likes to sometimes isolate himself. Tends to try and learn anything he can.
History: He was experimented on when he was born.. taken to a lab and put into a test tube, his body was remade again and again.. infusing technology and organic into one single creation, his parents who was the ones who did this to him was seeking to make the perfect being. This lead to disaster when the body was 5 and his powers went out of control and destroyed the lab.. but his body was unharmed for what it was while his parents was obliterated. Having been seeking a home for years now for his power been to dangerous for him to call any place home yet without him being able to control it.

Power: Super Speed, Leon is fast, and that's an understatment. Leon has never reached his max speed but hes broken the sound barrier before and he fears if he pushes it to hard he could dematerialize or travel through time. He can vibrate his own molecules at such a speed that he can phase through solid objects, however he rarely does it because of the extreme physical strain it puts on him.

Leon had always been the kind of guy to run from his problems, before his powers developed he was an orphan kid living on the streets in the city, he was bullied and beaten and treated like trash but his heart was always in the right place and he never blamed people for the way they treated him. he discovered what he was when a bus lost control and came careening into a crowded park full of children. Leon had to do something and time slowed down around him, Leon didn't quite understand at first but he didn't ask questions and saved the kids and the people in the bus. Soon after Leon was contacted by the orphanage and offered a place to live and learn about his powers and Leon agreed.

Her Past.

Anya was born to a russian family that had moved to a more quiet country. Her father barely there as he was working all the time left her alone with her terrible step mother. Anya's real mother died during childbirth of her little brother. Due to the troublesome fact of being a wild child she was often locked outside in the woods when her father left. She learned of her abilities when she was 10. Seeing as she would run into the woods with a small wolf pack and not return for long periods of time it became apaernt she was different.

At the age of 12 her step mother found out about the wolf pack and why her least favorite child wouldn't come home. Believing the child was a freak the witch tried to dispose of the girl. Anya thought her step mother was just strict and always treated her with respect. A fateful day for poor Anya when she allowed her step mother to tie her to a pole in the woods. Using a dead deer carcase with she sat next to Anya she lead a bear over. Luckily her wolf pack chased it away but the large creature has scared the girl. The wolves then killed and devoured her step mother on her command, riding her off into the woods.

Found trying to salvage clothes from a old cabin she was taken away from her woods and into custody of the police. Who after seeing her having a discussion with the squirrels outside of the office thought it would be best to bring her to the orphanage. Not without the car taking her being stopped multiple times for animals coming right up to the car just to say something to the girl.

Bio- The Saito sisters are from a very prestigious family. They had a very happy life: they went to school, had friends, a happy family and even another sibling along the way. Mikine was the youngest of the twins and was a bit of an air head when it came to many things. Her sister Yumiko was the oldest of the two girls and was more of a responsible person. Thou the girls were different they were very closer. The girls had an easy life with little struggles, but that all came to end 12 short years later.

On the girls 12th birthday the family was on their way back from the ice skating rink they were at for the girl's brithday. Their mother who was about 5 months along was chatting happily with the girls about the upcoming baby while their dad was driving. They were on a large hill and it was raining pretty bad. Mr. Saito was being very careful since he knew the railing up in the hill was very old and needed to be replaced, but the car behind him was swaying back and forth as if trying to pass them. The car ended up getting too close and ended up hitting the back of their car causing them to spin out of control. Their car flew over the railing and down the steep hill where it ended all smashed up and four people trapped inside. During the crash two glows, fire and blue, came out of their hands whcjh went unnoticed by the girls.

Yumiko, the only one who stayed conscious during the entire crash, saw the entire was smoking and knew she needed to get her family out. Yumiko looked at her sister and tried to undo her seat belt. Her sister was barely breathing and she was bleeding a lot from head. Yumiko got the seat belt off and kicked open the door. She slowly dragged her sister towards the heavy tree line and when she ran back for her parents when the car blew into family pushing Yumiko back against the ground.

The person from the car came into view with guilty eyes as he saw the state of the girls, though a bit surprised that none of the girls seem to have suffered more wounds then they had gained. He quickly called for an ambulance and the two girls was taken to the nearest hospital.

Yumiko sat by her sister who was asleep after having surge to remove the glass that had entered her sister's head when she saw her hands glowing red. Confused she flicked two of her together and flames came out a little before vanishing. Yumiko saw the a blue glow around her sister's hands as well leaving her confused.

The two stayed in the hospital for a few weeks to recover. They quickly learned after a few mishaps in the bathroom they had powers. Yumiko could manipulate fire while her sister could manipulate water. When both girls were recovered enough, a person from social services came to pick the, up and the two were taken to an orphanage. Little did they know that this orphanage that had kids that were just like them.

Power-Darkness manipulation:jack is able to control masses of darkness to do basically anything he wants, he could for example:shape the darkness into a dense ball of shadow and break a solid peice of concrete in half, assuming there would be enough darkness to do so,jack sometime has trouble controlng his power when his judgement is clouded, so if he were mad, he could do as much as he could if he were calm. jacks power depends soley on the absense of light, the more light in an area, the less he could do, so if there were a small amount of light in an area, it would barley hinder his power, but if there were a lot of light, he couldnt do much, another thing that hinder his uses is that jack can only use his power so much before he himself gives out, reguardless of the light, eventually, jack would just fall to the floor in a dizzy sate for about 5-10 minutes

Personality:Jack is a nice person when he isnt mad, but is dangerously silent when he is,otherwise he is smart clever and respectful to others, he likes listening to songs in his spare time as well as drawing whatever comes to mind

Bio:up until jack was 7 years old, he ironically was scared of the darkness, he always felt as if something could jump out at him at any given time.a few months after he turned 7, he started to feel safe in darkness, not just being okay with it but actually being away from light, shortly after, he discovered his power and stated hanging around the darkness even more to the point of earning the name'shade',when asked why he felt such a connecion to the darkness, he couldnt give them a proper answer
5 years later, people started to realize that jack could control the darkness, and it made sense to them why he liked it so much, one day his friends payed him a visit and caught him shaping darkness into nightmarishly deep shadowy spheres, jack noticed his friends at the door, they were shocked and thought he wasnt humn, despite his best efforts to calm them down, a few days later, his family decided that they had the audacity to no longer allow jack to 'play with shadows', jack told them that he would control darkness for as long as he liked, a fight broke out between him and his father, his dad told him that he could either'get rid of your obsession with darkness or leave'
jack couldnt stop himself from pinning his father to the wall with a shard of darkness in his shoulder, realizing what he had done, he grabbed is jacket and ran until he found the orphanage, hoping not to repeat his mistake

Phoenix knew that she had to take care of you baby sister even if she was only a child herself. Phoenix wondered where she was going to go when they were released from the hospital, for they had nowhere to go.

Bio: Selena only recently discovered her powers within the past year. Before this, she lived a normal life with her parents and younger brother. Lena would always be in the back of Selena's head, taunting and insulting her. Lena can only control Selena when she is in her wolf form, giving her some form of protection, though Lena has forced Selena to shift a few times, either through trickery or brute force in the girls moments of weakness. Scared by what she could potentially do to her family, she ran away from her home and made her way to the orphanage, hoping it was the sanctuary she had heard of.

Appearance; Curly auburn hair that ends at her waist if let down. Lean athletic figure capable of damage if needed. Dark green eyes, high cheekbones and pointy chin. Small, about 5’3 in hight, average weight is 115, so petite looking. No overly defined muscle mass, lean from training and built for speed. White scars litter her skin, on her neck, arms and legs. A dark wound from the right side of her forehead down over her brow ending at her cheekbone. Skin is a light olive where the scars do not cover it. High cheekbones and widows peak in hairline. Auburn brown hair goes down to center of her back but is usually held in a tight french braid for battle. Dragon and tiger symbols branded on her forearms. Along with the Shaolin bonsai tree.

Clothing; Normal attire is loose black thick jeans tucked into grey mid calf combat boots. Solid blue, tight shirt underneath stiff light brown leather that serves as shoulder pads and tied in the front by a metal ring. Dark purple almost black cloth wraps around her arms and criss crosses on her palm between her pointer and middle finger. A small white hoop in her right ear gives her an almost pirate look. Heavy cloth necklace holds a bunch of feathers, red, grey and one black. Strip of white cloth covers part of her forehead and keeps back hair.

Ability; Controlling lightning, the ability to summon different animals, to aide her such as tiger, crane, leopard, dragon or wolf.

History;
Abandoned on the streets as a young child she stole and survived in the mountains before being found and taken in by Shoalin monk. Taught martial arts from a young age she soon saw Ta Lee as a father figure and he treated her as such. Due to training, injuries and fights she eventually gained scars over every inch of skin. At age 10 she summoned a tiger to her when a couple of boys were pickiing on her, afterwords Ta Lee trained her personally to control her powers. Ta Lee was betrayed and the temple fell under siege. One of the only surviving monks she lived on food she could catch. Some of her clothing she wears was from the animals she gutted and skinned at that time. Before the temple fell he gave he branded her with the marks of her style on her forearms. Dragon and Tiger.
Later she was found by the authorities and tossed between homes until they sent her to the orphanage.

Bio: Avary was a troubled child, he was always secluded from the other children and his extended family, his parents knew of his powers but accepted him. His powers allowed him to control the minds of other people to do what he wants and to read minds. His parents died when the government came for him and they tried to protect him and died, when he saw his parents die in front of him he ran, and he found the orphanage.

Power: Hugh can not only see and communicate with other worldly entities (ghost, PSI based plagiarist, and demonic-like presences. This is non-voluntary, and only works at certain times. It allows her to travel outside of her body as well, in a clairvoyance like way, causing her in world body to go limp and her to go into a deep sleep. She is able to move very light things and if with powerful emotions be seen as an apparition in this form. Other worldly beings are also drawn to her.

Bio: Hugh was born with an innate ability to see very spiritual beings. As a child it haunted him, seeing terrified people, monstrous beings attacking him but with no success and many more strange things. His parents thought he was just a creative kid, but his desperation to get rid of this curse made them quickly decide he needed help. They tried all sorts of things, but nothing was a permanent solution. They where forced to watch their son slowly grow distant, accepting his ability and allow it to haunt him. He was defeated, and basically a shell of their old son. When they moved next time, they felt their son was turning into a monster, as he had lost his sense of morality, and so they moved without him while he was at school. Hugh did not mind much, letting himself waste away, almost eager for death. That was when he was found for the orphanage and taken in. He didn't mind much, hoping they'd be able to help.

Appearance:Gavin is a relatively cute little seven year old, though he is often thought to be younger due to his short stature. He is 3' 09" tall, which is more the height of a 5 1/2 year old. He is a bit thin for his height, weighing in a 42 lbs. soaking wet. He has long shaggy straight blond hair, often unbrushed. His eyes are bright blue with a sparkle when happy or excited. He has fair skin, but from summer through early fall will sport a moderate all-over tan. Like most little boys, he is often at least faintly dirty.

Bio:The Vicus (Latin for village) Family was a nomadic commune formed in the mid 1970s. Their number would vary, averaging thirty adults and twenty children (from infant to mid teens), with people joining for a time and leaving, some for a while and some permanently. The core group was thirteen adults and six children, including Gavin and his parents. The Family held practically everything in common - money, jobs, possessions, and child rearing. Gavin's birth parents spent less time with him than any of the other parents; their energies, time, and focus devoted mostly to Causes that the Family found important.

The Family was Vegan and an early adopter of almost exclusively using locally sourced, organically produced, non-hybridized fruits and vegetables (Natural is Good). They used practically no factory processed foods, considering the chemical additives to be a leading cause of cancer (Poison! Poison!). They were heavily into Animal Rights, opposing animal testing for any reason and nearly all uses of animals and animal derived products (Meat is Murder!). Another firmly held belief was that vaccinations were primarily a method for the government to eventually track and control the population, so they did not have any of their children vaccinated (No Mind Control!). They also decried rampant consumerism and unchecked capitalism and were extremely active in the Occupy movement, thus most everything they had or purchased (when they couldn't make it) was second or third hand (or more) if not scavenged (Too many possessions are a burden on the Soul!). Overdevelopment and urban sprawl (Save the Trees!), pollution (especially from industry) (Give a Hoot, Don't Pollute!), use of nonrenewable energy sources (No Blood for Oil!), nuclear power (No Nukes!), and the military-industrial complex (Hey Hey LBJ, How many kids did you Kill Today!) were other things they were concerned about.

The Family had a strong sense of spirituality, borrowing parts from many Eastern religions and belief systems as well as Native American tribes, Australian Aboriginal beliefs, and even some elements of Judeo-Christianity and others. But their primary beliefs were heavily rooted in a mix of New Ageism, Neo-Paganism, and especially the reverence of Gaia. They were not anti-religious, but strongly felt that most organized religious groups had badly strayed from a more positive path. These were primarily those with a substantial hierarchal and patriarchal tradition.

The care and raising of the children was shared equally by all the adults of the Family, at least that's how it was supposed to work. In practice, things were different. Some were better and some worse at dealing with the children. And some people were excused as their duties to the Causes of the Family were deemed to be more important. Gavin's biological parents were in that group. Gavin was cared for as well as the other children for the most part. He was given affection and attention, and that was enough when he was little. But when he was three to four, he began to notice the bond between the other children and their parents. At that age he couldn't comprehend what he was missing or why his biological parents spent little time with him, but he knew that something was missing.

The adults of the Family were generally well educated, with a sizable number having a Bachelors degree or better. This was an asset when it came to the teaching of the children. Those with degrees in education and teaching certificates adapted various instructional philosophies to develop a curriculum that was heavily based on the Montessori and Waldorf methods for early childhood education. This Frankensteinian creation was particularly appropriate for the nomadic lifestyle the Family lead, seldom staying in any one place long enough to enroll the children in local schools if they had even been inclined to. The vast majority of the children had spent little or no time in a traditional school setting. Gavin was in the second group. Due to the methodology, Gavin's education was a bit uneven as he focused on the things that interested him to the detriment of other subjects. He was ahead of his age level in reading, arithmetic, geography, and science. Well behind in writing and spelling, and social studies and history. He enjoyed helping fix things, being small was often an advantage working in confined spaces. But what he loved the most and had a real talent for was music.

Music was a constant in the Family. There were always a few musical instruments around, mostly guitars, but banjos, fiddles, flutes and recorders, an occasional mandolin or dulcimer, various small brass instruments, and of course drums - lots of drums for a Circle. For a couple years the Family even had an old battered, oft out of tune, upright piano they hauled around in the back of an old school bus. When Gavin was four, a musician who traveled with the Family for most of a year noted the boy's keen interest and began teaching him to play on whatever instruments were available. Though this tutelage ended when the musician went his own way, it left Gavin with a solid grounding in musical theory and practice, and established a very firm foundation for him to continue to this day. The musician also gave the boys a Suzuki Professional harmonica, which has remained one of his most prized personal possessions.

A couple of months before Gavin turned 7, his actual biological parents took him when they went to a large protest and planning conference in Mexico. Gavin throughly enjoyed the time, but everything fell apart when his parents (along with other activists) were murdered (which Gavin does not know about) in the desert. Gavin spent a short time on his own in Mexico, before being found and turned over to the local authorities. Due to diplomatic problems as well as bureaucratic indifference and apathy (on both sides of the border), it took a bit of time before he was returned to the US and placed in the great malstrom that is the child welfare system. He was bounced around from emergency shelter to group home to foster home, with no one agency wanting to take responsibility for yet another expense, as well as the problem of the few places that he stayed for more than a day or two noticing and being concerned about his "power." Finally, one particularily enterprising bureaucrat actually read the reports on Gavin from the various places and putting two and two together decided to try and send him to the home for children with powers.

Personality, mannerisms, and behaviors

"March to the beat of a different drum," "Stop and smell the roses," "Find your bliss," "Question Authority," "Be yourself - everyone else is already taken," these are all phrases that could be used to describe Gavin's normal personality and outlook on life. He is generally a sweet and cheerful boy, full of energy, someone who gets along well with others, and tries to see the good in all living beings.

Currently though, "Shell Shocked," "Fish out of water," "Deer in the headlights," and "Adrift" would be more apt phrases. His perceived abandonment and rejection by his parents and the Family has eroded his sense of belonging and security. This has been exacerbated by the way that the various social services agencies have treated him. More rejection - 'we don't have room for him," "we already have enough children here," "he's not our responsibility," and "we can't afford to care for him" are just some of the things he overheard being shuffled from place to place. Gavin didn't understand that there were simply not enough resources available, he thought they were rejecting him personally. At this time he is looking for any bit of stability and friendship to cling to.

As mentioned in the background, Gavin loves music and is more than a bit talented in that area. He enjoys listening, learning, and playing. He can read music somewhat, and learn new compositions in that manner, but his usual method is to listen to performances and play by ear. Currently, music has become something to cling to, a security blanket of sorts. When he begins to feel overwhelmed he might start humming a tune, or tapping out a beat with his hands, mouthing the words, play a imaginary keyboard or some combination.

Gavin does not have the same understanding of personal property that most people do. Since the Family was a true communal group and held almost everything "in common trust," he regards most items as belonging to everyone and thus most everything is available for anyone to use as needed. In his mind, he is not stealing, just using what is everyone's. There are exceptions to this, notably musical instruments (but not pianos) and "sacred" items and keepsakes. You could borrow someone's guitar, but must ask first and of course you never even touch a person's sacred bundle or spirit bag. Clothing, pencils, paper, crayons, food, and even money are among the types of items that belong to all. He very abstractly understands the basic idea of money and buying things with it but does not have a firm grasp of the concept. Someone who is unscrupulous could really take advantage of him.

Personal privacy is another thing he has a differing view of. Gavin will walk into a room without thinking of knocking, even if the door is closed. But if someone says they want to be alone, he will not bother them. Related to personal privacy is body modesty and nudity. He has only the barest (no pun intended) notion of body modesty. Clothes are something that you wear when it's cold, or to keep from being bitten by insects, or to keep from getting sunburned, or just because you wanted to. The Family were not nudists/naturalists but definitely had no taboos concerning the wearing or not wearing of clothes. Related to both is Gavin's understanding of human (and animal) biological functions, especially the Birds and Bees. He does know exactly where babies come from and how they are made, having witnessed the process from conception to birth multiple times. He is absolutely uninterested in the whole process.

Just a few oddities for flavor:

He has never used a telephone and doesn't know how to use one. The same for computers, laptops, tablets, cellphones or much of technology.

He has never had his birthday celebrated, the Family instead celebrated that a woman had given birth but not the child.

He has not been vaccinated and was not ever seen by a M.D. until he was in the social services system.

He has never been to the movies, but has seen old 16mm films projected on a sheet hung on the side of a bus.

He has never had ice cream.

He had never watched TV until the Mexican jail. At the various homes, shelters, etc., he saw more but still doesn't understand the attraction. The exception being channels like MTV and VH1, programs like Lawrence Welk and He Haw reruns, and any televised concerts and such.

Direct eye contact with Connor causes worst memories to replay in head for the duration

Appearance: Connor has short brown hair, blue eyes, and stands about 4'1". He has fair skin and typically wears sweatpants and a t-shirt. He also covers his eyes with a black piece of fabric wrapped around his head so it stays attached.

Personality: Connor is quiet, still trying to get over his rejection by his foster parents. He is surprisingly polite, given his age, and is also dependent on others to show him around. He pretends he is blind so that people don't ask him to take off his covering.

Bio: Connor, luckily, was born to parents who accepted him. (although they never could find out why they kept remembering things) He eventually discovered that people seemed to freak out because of his eyes, though he didn't know why, so he covers them. Besides that, Connor was actually pretty happy.
That changed when he was 6. He was going to the store with his parents when he accidentally turned the steering wheel from the backseat, causing the car to veer into oncoming traffic. He survived, but his parents were killed. He was put into a foster home, but the family thought he was some sort of demon and cast him out into the streets.

Power: Currently Unknown. But his powers seem to deprive from the creature that is part of him, be it a manifestation of emotions or just a part of him that grew in power over the rest of him, no one will be able to know. Outside the host body, the being would manifest into a black cloud in the form of an animal, any animal it chooses. In this state, James would be faster and more agile, and the creature would be able to fight alongside him. But in this state is when James would be at his most powerful but most vulnerable as well. If the being was inside, James wouldn’t die to just anything, a bullet to the brain would mostly likely only cause a scratch as the being strengthens his body. But outside, the being would leave it’s more vulnerable part inside him. Thus it would push the pain and injuries on James, showing in minor injures that slowly start to increase in severity.

Appearance:

Bio: James was a strange child, even from birth. People and parents saying they found things happening around him, whenever he was in danger that he came out alive and well where others would be dead. At the age of 7 would be when it was found out what was happening with him, a group of bullies pushed him around and finally corner him. Him with a black eye and looking like he was going to be hurt more, but suddenly the bullies were being hurt. Being pushed around and even tossed around a bit as a dark cloud flowed from a cut on the top of his hand that never healed. Opening to show the darkness flowing from it and attacking the bullies. Sending them running before taking at first the look of a cat. The darkness flowing around it as it looked at him, that day was when things changed for the child. Thrown out after the stories became increasing against him, he never trusted others. Even those he thought he could trust betrayed him. He was seeing it more and more while on the streets with the creature that called itself a “Void” as a friend. He saw people like him, different and strange, bullied and hurt and rejected by society. He didn’t like such prejudice against people like him. Soon him and his “Friend” would be doing what they can. Stealing from the usual “Normal” Society and giving to the supernaturals. Finding homes for others. As time went on, he and the being he came to call “Neric” would hear of a place where multiple supernaturals were held. But not knowing they were there for the betterment of themselves or anything that is good for them. He and Neric would come up with a plan to break them out, them trusting eachother till the day they met. They were there for eachother, now and forever.

James: “So what’s the plan today my shadowy friend?”

Neric: “I believe that you can’t plan the future, it’s in constant motion. We can only think, hope and see about what will be.”

James: “I couldn’t agree with you more.”
