Name: Virtura Ilmata (Virtue)

Age: 18

Gender: Elder blooded female

Apperance:

Virtura is a rather tall but very slender young woman. Generally considered reasonably attractive, it’s not very outspoken womanly features or an incredible smile that make her stand out, but a more natural beauty. Her posture and vigor, the way she moves and the sheer confidence that she radiates. Along with that it seems like she takes of her body as if it were a temple. Her is hair wild but carefully kempt and reaches all the way down to her waist. Her mildly toned skin seems flawless and free of any blemishes, the only scars being the ones on the palms of her hands and one along the length of her right arm. It is supposedly an incredible feat to retain such a pure body whilst enduring the training of a witch hunter.

It is clear that she doesn’t intend on coming off as beautiful or attractive. This issuggested by her loose sloppy clothing that shroud her gorgeous body from any prying eyes. A simple robe with a few patches here and there, still in reasonable condition. A deep hood further disguises her face making it almost impossible to look straight at her face. She has a set of silver trinkets hanging from her belt and clothing, a few silver rings, as well as a large silver torc around her neck. She also has a typical Elder Blooded tattoo, a small red eye on her forehead.

Personality:
Virtue is surprisingly expressive, having little trouble showing her mood to others and being a very open person. She is usually rather quiet, but this is because she’s very intent on thinking carefully about what she says. She tends not to look at those she is addressing, and since she’s constantly wearing that hood of hers it makes it difficult to discern her emotions. Once you do catch a glance at her face however, you’ll see the occasional smirk or smile escaping her. Her voice is rather expressive too, and along with a strong body language it isn’t that hard to communicate with her.

Amongst friends she can be reasonably easy to talk to. If she’ll reply, that something else, but it’s always clear that she’s listening intently, nodding every now and then. She will only speak when she absolutely deems it necessary. When amongst less friendly company, reading her is almost impossible. She’ll be an emotionless and rather intimidating statue, giving you the eerie feeling that she’s watching you from under her hood.

Although she has been separated from her cultural origins since youth, Virtue has an immense respect for the old ways of the Elder Blooded and of their rituals, and tries to follow the traditions that she still remembers from her youth. One of these is keeping her body in perfect shape. Not just in physical ability, but also in health and purity. She tries to avoid damage to herself as much as she can, and is disgusted by people who intentionally harm themselves or allow them to be harmed through inaction. As a witch hunter, it is nigh impossible to keep herself completely free from scars and wounds, but she has developed a very defensive combat style to prevent it as much as she can.

With an exceptional sense of empathy, Virtue tends to be more kind than cruel. She feels the hurt of the innocent around her, and wants to help them as much as possible, being kind whenever she can allow herself to be. This makes her job as a merciless witch hunter all the more difficult. She does wholeheartedly believe that what the order does is for the good of the world, but she has difficulty sacrificing anything other than herself for their goals.

Strengths:

Great intelligence and wisdom being her most apparent talents, Virtue has turned into more of a scholar than a tribe-shaman or a witch hunter. As such she has an incredible knowledge on all things magic, and how to dissect and disable such foul forces. She knows quite a lot about history and has gotten rather high end education, standing out most philosophy, human anatomy, toxicology and herbology.

Being a Witch Hunter, Virtue has endured the near tortuous training with difficulty, starting with a very lacking physique and undeveloped practical skills. With great mental fortitude, willpower and discipline she rarely slipped, and if she has lacked any of those before, they are definitely beaten out of her now. Thanks to her training, she can mostly make up what she lacks in strength with dexterity and speed. Virtue can defend herself in combat, and can be considered well-trained with the quarterstaff, nearing expertise slowly, but still far from mastery.

Weaknesses:
Aside from her clear physical disadvantages, being very weak for a Witch Hunter (still considered strong for ordinary people), Virtue has a lack in her methods as well. In combat, she has great difficulty with going in the offensive. Her lack of strength prevents her from doing significant damage, only doing so when she can use the uncontrolled strength of her opponents against them. This requires her to stay calm and methodical whilst her technique works better as her opponents get angrier. This leads to another deficit in Virtue's personality.

She is prone to frustration. Although she is otherwise very good at controlling her emotions, frustration and anger is what she has difficulty with keeping in check. The angrier she gets, the more she will try to actively go on offense, which she's terrible at. This will cause her to get even more frustrated and the vicious cycle ensues.

Funny to mention, this is not necessarily a weakness but a part of her personality that is reflected in her combat style. When in a heated debate or in moments of diplomacy, Virtue is on her best when she's calm and collected. When you get on her nerves however, her arguments will grow weaker and her speech will start to falter, making her a lot less convincing. All in all Virtue is at her best when she's calm, and she'd be very grateful to anyone who helps her recollect herself in a moment of distress.

Finally, something that could be considered both a strength and a weakness, Virtue is completely magically deficient. Most people, even those without any talent, are usually able to learn to control a tiny bit of magic if they were given the opportunity. Not Virtue. The inability to control magic in any way is literally in the blood of the tribe she originates from. Although it gives her the advantage of trust in the eyes of the order, allowing her to more closely study subjects about magic without causing suspicion, it makes her a bit more vulnerable against magic, and if she were to somehow end up in a situation where being able to influence magic is vital, she'd be doomed.

Equipment:
- A self made tunic, robe and hood.
Chain shirt and leather armour
- A leather backpack with general equipment and storage room for other things.
- Silver simple jewelery and trinkets
Quarterstaff
- Grooming and cleaning goods - travelling issue set good for about a month of simple bodily care
Writing equipment and notebook
- Old maps of Aldergard
- Witch hunter's handbook on magic spells, rituals, auras and other ‘infections’ - hand written by virtue herself, with research collected from all sorts of ‘forbidden’ scriptures with all the actual methods to replicate filtered out.
- Thieves tools. Useful for disarming traps and unlocking locks.
- Medical kit with plenty of herbs and bandages, a few salves and two desinfective potions. Comes with simple surgical equipment, enough to get bullets out or sew a huge gash closed
- A strange looking wood and leather talisman
- An ocarina (yes, the little flute from zelda)
- The silver dagger

Okay folks, I finally finished the first post to a degree that I was happy with. I've not written anything in a long time so It's not my best writing ever, but I'll get back into the swing of things soon enough.

@PrettyWalrus
I'm happy enough with him, sure you're in.

@Dephaistos
I've messaged you fella - I'm happy with her save for one small change.

And with six characters, I think we have reached the limit that I can cater for! Nicely timed with me getting this started, I hope everyone involved has fun.

I'll get the character list in the OOC updated in the morning.

I'm not one to be a 'first post' type, but I guess that'll do since Kaite would have been genuinely paying so little attention to others that there wouldn't be much to base a post on. >_<

I like it, it's nicely written and gives a feel for the character.

Personally I'm in the middle of that awkward moment after I post something where it feels like I'm being judged by everyone reading it, heh.

Aight, so I've been playing about with the order of the posts a bit because I wanted to ask a question. Just insert the answer somewhere inbetween the posts. I don't think there'll be a follow up question :P

Also hi guys! I'm really excited for this one. It's already kicking off great!

I could probably have a reply post ready in another 30-60 minutes, but I'm a little unclear about if there is a posting order and if someone hasn't posted. Don't want to leave anyone out ;>_>

EDIT: Yup, just sitting on a post.

Don't worry about any set orders or anything: so long as two people don't get carried away and leave everyone else trailing behind them, its fine.

I'll probably be able to post 2 - 3 times a week, and I'll try to give everyone a chance to respond at least once before I do that.

That said, I'll try and post shorter replies intermittently to keep things like conversations flowing if need be. Like now.

Apologies on the short post, bit of a struggle to write a present moment. Will not make a habit of it.

It happens - don't worry about it. Sometimes we don't have time or just can't think what to write. Sometimes a full short story simply isn't necessary. It's one of the reasons I didn't want to impose strict rules like 'you must write eighteen paragraphs' or whatever.

What i'm trying to say is that I appreciate the effort. :)

I'm working on the next post at the moment - it'll be a long one and should give you all a setting that you can explore freely. That's something I want to emphasise: freedom of exploration. You want to inspect something in the distance? Go ahead. Want to try a rndom door? Do it! Mention your characters intentions and I'll do my best to make the world as vibrant and reactive as possible - that's one of my goals.
