Even more reason to 'bribe' that group.

Siphran it seems your character's SRTU and Venator's Serious Crime Division overlap quite a lot, if we are both law enforcementy types perhaps we should merge these departments as they both seem to be top tier crime investigation.

Or at the very least, temporarily cooperate/compete in trying to pin down Gideon Hydes for a recent slew of murders. He's a former high profile criminal (former boss to an infamous syndicate) that got a pardon from the death penalty, so I'd say the authorities are trying to keep close tabs on him. He's affiliated with the Knights, but his dirty work as an acolyte is kept a secret. And to make things juicy, bringing him in could open up a can of worms with the Knights. What do you guys think?

Ey ah, boss, eh, dis ain't dun yet. Characters I have planned so far are a member of the TLF and some kind of big game hunter with a name like Lord Blackwood-Smythe III.

"Freedom. None of us know the true meaning of this word. Not the Gorrompek for all their bravery and their strong wills. Not the Eliazioph for all their infinite intelligence and endless wisdom. Nor us Chirix for all our skills and labours. Not one of us alive has been born free. Not one of us knows what our home was before the humans reduced it to ash and glass. Oh, we are slaves no longer, but if humans know that, they don't show it. It is our people who work in the most dangerous places, who are paid nothing, who live in degenerate collapsing slums, who are spat on in the streets. When we try to protest in peace, they nod and congratulate us on how well we are doing, on how we are a credit to our people and go right back to eating their dinners. When we protest with violence, they call us savages and barbarians and hint that we should never have been freed.

Well, brothers and sisters. If we are to be savages, and barbarians, and animals, let us be so! We are the rage of our parents, who were so broken they never thought to raise their voices. We are the vengeance of our forbears who suffered the indignity of slavery. We are the death howl of our ancestors as our planet burned around them, and we shall be heard!"

Faction Name: The Tindrel Liberation Front, also known as the New Collective, the Tindrel Equality Front, the Black Carapace, the Shadow-Weavers, HiveTank and the Tindrel Underground.

Structure: One great Tindrel Rights movement under numerous names.
Tindrel Liberation Front attack businesses that treat Tindrel species poorly and liberate the workers. The New Collective establishes education programs and spreads awareness within the Tindrel communities. Tindrel Equality Front is a peaceful protest group that tries to get Tindrel into positions of learning. The Black Carapace is a terrorist cell sort-of-thing. The Shadow-Weavers are espionage agents and saboteurs, often working to bribe, blackmail and sway politicians to their cause. HiveTank are a think-tank of Eliazoph that debate and propose solutions to problems on television in an attempt for people to see the Tindrel as more than bugs, and secretly work as mission control. The Tindrel Underground spirit away wanted criminals to other parts of the city, and also steal food and healthcare for the betterment of those in the slums.

From here:
http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/13627/posts/ooc?page=2#post-306053
Gorrompek are #1 - warriors and sentries, Chirix are #2 - builders and artisans, Eliazoph are #3 - scientists and philosophers

Wow, i like it! Well done, nice work.
I think the collective idea is exciting, and also gives people looking the roleplay the Tindrel more choices. The Liberation Front gets a yes from me.
Anyone else wanna weigh in?

I agree, i think it'd make the Tindrel race more appealing and (as Catharyn pointed out) more choices. I'm just wondering if organizations such as the New Collective and HiveTank (more pacifist organizations it seems) would want to be lumped in with the Liberation Front and the Black Carapace? Though their goals seem to be the same, the way they go about it varies completely and it makes me wonder if someone in the New Collective would even support the practices of the Black Carapace?

Aha, but it's HiveTank running the show, using the more violent organisations in tandem with the peaceful ones in a carrot-and-stick measure. The way I'm currently seeing the Eliazoph, or at least some of them, is that they're very good at long-term planning. The Tindrel in these organisations are also desperate to get themselves out of the mire, and the general opinion is that the best way to do that is to work together, no matter what you think of your neighbours. After all, the TEFfers are probably unlikely to ever deal with Black Carapace or Shadow-Weavers. Might not even know they're affiliated with them.

The Knights Holy Cross are a secret order with much power, whilst they without a doubt have controll over what the police or law authority 'sees' when it comes to the righteous act of 'murder' they cannot hinder third party organizations as easily, however, the knights are as stated, a conspiracy theory, a rumor without much to back it up. Whilst the Red Cross corps act as the face of the ancient order.

The Knights Holy Cross would take it upon themselves to rid the world of any alien species, just saying, as it's obvious that the Knights holy Cross only favors the human species. However if everything goes according to the plans of the a knights Holy Cross everyone would die eventually.

The Eliazoph race seem similar to the San 'Shyuum (Prophets) of the Halo Universe, although that doesn't mean any of the traits or characteristics have to be the same to. Just putting it out there. In other news, i'm going to work on getting the races up to scratch then we can maybe start to think about an IC. Y'all excited!?

Haven't played Halo, so I can't really comment.
So far

Chirix: Strong, dexterous, exceptional team-workers; herd mentality, panicky, overly emotional
Gorrompek: Fast, agile, rapid reaction times, fairly robust; overly aggressive, overzealous, tendency to act before thinking
Eliazoph: Extremely intelligent, the cleverest often working at scales beyond human capability; not very practical, physically inferior to humans, often absent-minded, sometimes overly logical, rarely decisive.

I see the parallels.

Chirix: Grunts
Gorrompek: Sangheili
Elizoph: San 'Shyuum

They're insects right?

I'll put that in the Tindrel section. Guidelines for how races conduct themselves are useful but i also want players to run with their characters and see what they can create. I'm sure as the RP goes on people will refine the races so that they all work perfectly (or imperfectly) together.

Insectoid, and the Gorrompek are probably closer to mammals in terms of physiology. Sorry, I'm a biologist so calling aliens words related to phylogenetic groups from our planet really annoys me.

Yeah, these are just typical traits. Like for humans you'd probably have argumentative, adaptable and libidinous

I just watched Ender's Game - I won't spoil the particulars for people who haven't watched it or don't like spoilers, but it has some similarities to the Tindrel History. I'll tell you how in the hider below. Beware though it might ruin the film.

SPOILER ALERT

Just noticed now that the OOC is up! Once I'm through reading all the background info, there will be a character sheet coming your way.

Great :D I know i haven't been keeping the character section up to date (i'll do them all at once), but how many participants do we have now? I'm almost in favor of starting the IC soonish.
