| H I S T O R Y: |
1978-1983 | Born into one of Gotham's most influential and wealthiest family's, Bruce Thomas Wayne grew up living an entitled life. His father, Thomas Wayne was the CEO of Wayne Enterprises, a military defense contractor that included dozens of umbrella companies involved in all sectors of the economy both in Gotham City and around the world. This included Thomas' personal pride and joy, Wayne Healthcare.

Bruce's mother, Martha on the other hand spent her days fighting against the abuse of Gotham's children and against the trafficking of children around the globe. In her youth, Martha had a reputation as a notorious party girl, socialite, and debutante, frequenting all the most prestigious country clubs, night clubs, and soirees. Upon meeting Thomas Wayne however, Martha developed a social conscience and often used her family's wealth and status to champion causes and charities.

As such Martha headed a covert detection agency with help from a young officer James Gordon and the family butler Jarvis Pennyworth until his untimely death in 1984. Their goals were to stem abuse against children, in the hopes that those children would not grow up to turn into abusers and criminals themselves.

1984-1985 | With the death of his father Jarvis, retired MI-6 Operative turned stage actor, Alfred Thaddeus Pennyworth is summoned to the Wayne Family Estate as it was his father's will he would serve the Waynes as his replacement. While originally reluctant, Alfred complied with his father's wishes and left London for Gotham. Arriving at Wayne Manor, Alfred was accepted by Thomas and Martha with open arms but clashed repetitively with the family's young heir.

1986-1991 | At the age of eight, Bruce Wayne watched his parents murdered before his eyes. Thomas and Martha Wayne were walking home from the Monarch Theater one night with their son, when they were held up at gunpoint by a mugger who demanded the pearl necklace that Martha was wearing. When Dr. Wayne refused to surrender it, both he and Martha were shot dead in the streets.

The death of his parents traumatized the young Bruce Wayne. Taken back to the Gotham City Police Station by Officer James Gordon, Bruce was put in the care of one of the late Thomas' associates, physician and social worker Leslie Thompkins. Providing loving comfort to the traumatized Bruce, Leslie advised Gotham's child services to put Bruce in the care of Alfred Pennyworth despite the protests of the young Wayne.

Despite a rocky beginning, Alfred and Bruce eventually learned to understand each other. The former military man eventually began to get through to the spoiled boy and Alfred and Bruce began to bond. When Bruce was bullied at school, Alfred would be the one to tend to his wounds. Alfred taught Bruce how to throw his first punch and how to stand up for himself. By the time Bruce had graduated into secondary school, Alfred had changed the spoiled boy into budding young man more than willing to take care of himself.

But no matter how much Alfred forged the boy into a man he could not extinguish the fire that burned for justice. After witnessing the murder, Bruce swore revenge on criminals, an oath tempered by a strong sense of justice. Hardened by the death of his parents, Bruce devised a crusade on crime believing that Alfred could help him become a force for change.

1992-1995 | Despite his insistence that he be home-schooled, Alfred denied Bruce's whims and ensured he stayed enrolled in the prestigious Excelsior Academy his parents had intended him to learn at. His classmates at Excelsior were among some of the most gifted young minds in North America and the class was filled with numerous individuals who would go on to change the world. These individuals included the likes of Alexander Luthor, Anthony Stark and Oliver Queen1. It was here at Excelsior that Bruce developed a close friendship with a fellow Gotham heir by the name of Thomas Elliot. Bruce's rival in every way, Thomas excelled at strategic thinking and always seemed to be two steps ahead of Bruce.

During his late teens, Bruce took an interest in the occult, demonology and necromancy having known of such mystic arts due to his father's friendship with Giovanni Zatara1. Searching Gotham for another with this interest, Bruce eventually discovered Jason Blood1. However upon finding out Blood's true nature and his cursed existance, Bruce decided to abandon his quest to resurrect his parents or imbue himself with otherworldly powers. Deciding to leave Gotham, Bruce bid Alfred goodbye and headed out on his own.

1996-2011| At the age of eighteen, Bruce departed Gotham travelling the world in order to learn the skills necessary to start a war with the criminals of Gotham. Alfred put Bruce in contact with an old MI-6 Operative by the name of Sir Denis Nayland Smith. While Smith had retired he directed Bruce to Hong Kong putting the young billionaire in contact with Shang Chi1.

For the next fifteen years, Bruce backpacked across the globe learning anything and everything he could from various masters and specialists. After leaving Hong Kong, Bruce continued to travel across Asia eventually encountering an enigmatic blind man known solely by the name of Stick1. Like Shang Chi, Stick was a master martial artist, unlike Shang Chi, Stick was robbed of his sight. Teaching Bruce how to fight without his eyes, Stick taught Bruce how to enhance his senses and see the world through more than just his eyes.

Continuing East, Bruce hunted down humors of a legacy of hunters who were near perfect trackers. Eventually finding the home of the Kravinoff family, Bruce observed them and eventually gained their trust going on numerous hunts with them. Bruce discovered the secret to their abilities was in fact a concoction made with local herbs. This concoction prolonged the user's lifespan while enhancing both the body and the senses.

Departing Russia, Bruce made his way South in Europe where he made his way to the Italian home of one of his father's associates. As a boy, Bruce remembered being amused by the parlor tricks of Giovanni Zatara but after the deaths of Martha and Thomas, Giovanni departed Gotham. Moving to Europe, Zatara had met and wed Sindella, who gave birth to their daughter, Zatanna. However leaving Gotham had not allowed Zatara to escape further tragedy as Sindella died after giving birth to Zatanna. This led Zatara into a downward spiral as he become a depressed drunk.

Things changed for the better in Zatara's life when a Bruce Wayne arrived, requesting Zatara to teach him to become an escape artist and illusionist. While it was a struggle, the combined efforts of Bruce and Zatanna eventually led to Zatara agreeing to teach his skills to Bruce while he battling with his own alcoholism. By the time Bruce departed Italy, Giovanni had been sober for nearly six months.

Continuing South, Bruce found himself recruited into a band of mercenaries in Egpyt. It was here he learned the tactics of guerrilla warfare as Bruce was taught how to strike back against insurgent forces. During one penultimate firefight, Bruce and his allies found themselves ambushed leading to Bruce taking a bullet for his associate Marc Spector1. The two forged a friendship as they survived the ambush and helped patched one another up while Marc headed further into Egypt and Bruce made his way to Wakanda.

In Wakanda, Bruce honed his hunter skills, learning to track in ways the Kravinoff's hadn't been able to show him. It was also hear that Bruce discovered the mysterious metal known as vibranium. Learning about the properties of the metal, Bruce would years later incorporate the precious metal into his Batsuit armor and weapons.

Leaving Africa behind, Bruce made his way to Brazil where he learned to handle a wide variety of automobiles and motorcycles on the narrow and treacherous roads around Rio de Janeiro. It took a few years for Bruce to be able to handle any vehicle as he constantly modded, wrecked and rebuilt cars each passing day. Entering into the underground racing scene, Bruce eventually departed after hand delivering the organization heads to the police.

From Brazil, Bruce found his way onto Blackhawk Island. Enlisting help from the retired Blackhawks who still resided there, Bruce sought them out in order to learn how to handle aircraft. As some of the world's finest pilots, Bruce sought their instruction and experience. They in turn put him to work repairing the older vehicles in the hanger believing Bruce would not be ready to fly until he knew the place from the inside out. Upon mastering the art of flying, Bruce contacted Alfred and arranged his return to Gotham.

2012 | Returning to Gotham after fifteen years, Bruce began his crusade against the criminal underworld. Shot on his first outing, Alfred demanded that Bruce not take on the underworld single-handedly, instead encouraging Bruce to follow in his parent's footsteps. Due to his injuries, Bruce reluctantly succumbed to Alfred's request and turned his attention to the family company. Taking the reigns of Wayne Enterprises back, Bruce begins to take a page out of his mother's playbook and invests in Gotham developing jobs for the unemployed and seeing that the underprivileged are able to gain education.

His actions lead to Bruce becoming a target promptly Alfred to hire Bruce a protector in the form of Sasha Bordeaux.

2013 | After nearly a year of charity work and pushing Wayne Enterprises, crime has yet to recede in Gotham leaving a very devastated Bruce Wayne. Drunkenly stumbling into his father's study one night, Bruce found himself staring out the window defeated when a bat smashed through the glass. Seeing the Bat as a sign from his father beyond the grave, Bruce swore that he would become a Bat. Realizing that fear was his best weapon, Bruce fashioned a costume that would take him from man into a hellish monster in the eyes of the superstitious and cowardly criminal underworld.

2014 | Working in secret with Alfred and Lucius Fox, Bruce develops the Batsuit and rapidly expands his armory taking a new brutal brand of justice to the streets of Gotham. These develops include an improved 'Batsuit', a 'Batmobile' and eventually an aerial vehicle known as the 'Batwing'.

While working with the alien known as Superman, Bruce realized that he was a man among gods. Consulting with Lucius, the two devised a secondary Batsuit that would allow Bruce to work with his more gifted colleagues on an even footing. However under advice from Alfred, Bruce avoided using the suit in Gotham in order to not rely on it as a crutch or to incite escalation from his foes.

2015 | Having gained the attention of the largest crime families in Gotham, a hit is put on the Batman's head bringing the assassin's Deathstroke and Elektra1 to Gotham.

At the request of Superman, Bruce commissions Lucius to help him design a suit capable of taking on the Man of Steel himself should the alien ever go rogue. The suit was further designed to be able to take on some of the world's other mythic foes including the Amazon Wonder Woman, and the Norse God Thor.

2016 | Having become a thorn in the criminal underworld's side for nearly five years, a hit has been put out on the Batman's head. Fifty million for him dead, a hundred million for him alive.

Alfred Pennyworth:
Bruce's loyal butler, father figure and confident. Former MI-6 Operative and Actor.

Ace:
Alfred's loyal German Shepard. Given to Alfred as a puppy during his training with MI-6.

Sasha Bordeaux:
Bruce Wayne's bodyguard at the behest of Alfred. Originally Bruce believed that Alfred was trying to set him up with the lovely Miss Bordeaux until she revealed herself to be his new protector. Bruce often ditches Sasha in order to suit up as the Batman.

Zatanna Zatara:
A former flame of Bruce Wayne's, Zatanna and Bruce enjoyed a brief but intense romantic relationship while Bruce trained under her father in Italy. After departing Italy, Bruce and Zatanna fell out of contact but she still holds a place in his heart.

Lucius Fox:
The Chairman and former head of Research and Development at Wayne Enterprises. Lucius is also a confident of Bruce Wayne, although he refuses to acknowledge that he's away of the Billionaire Playboy's nightly activities. Lucius is the mastermind behind most of the Batman's equipment and tools.

Captain James Gordon:
An ally to the Batman and one of Gotham's few straight cops. James Gordon's career has been more entangled with the Waynes than he'd care to realize having assisted Martha Wayne with her social activities, been the responding officer to their murder and returned to Gotham months before the Batman appeared.

Barbara Gordon:
The daughter of James Gordon, Barbara is currently completing her Master's at Gotham University in Forensic Psychology. Holding a double major in Psychology and Criminology, Barabara hopes to be an FBI Profiler upon graduation and is basing her Master's paper on the Batman.

This Batman has nothing to prove by simply being a man. When in the company of Superhumans, Bruce does not shy away from utilizing more high tech batsuits akin to the 'Batman Beyond'/Batwing suit. Additionally he possesses bigger and more powerful 'Kryptonian Buster' Suits akin to the one used during the 'Night of Owls' and 'Endgame' arcs for taking on foes like the Hulk and Superman himself if the need should arise.

Batman has never been a member of the League of Shadows, as mentioned in his history, Bruce did travel the world to learn his numerous skills but he never joined the League merely training under various master martial artists.

Due to ingesting a similar concoction as Kraven the Hunter, Bruce ages at a slower rate and has an enhanced physical condition beyond those provided by his rigorous training regime.

| M I S C. N O T E S: |
The standard Batsuit is a technological marvel that almost rivals the Iron Man Suit. Bruce's Batsuit can augment his strength by a factor of two, containing Vibranium in the gauntlets and boots in order to minimize harm and increase striking power. The cape is fire retardant and goes rigid to allow for gliding when passed with an electrical current. The Bat's boots contain Stark repulsor technology to boost Bruce's jumping abilities and aid his grapple guns. The grapple guns are mounted in the gauntlets and use OsCorp fluid wire technology that is also seen in the Spider-Man's webshooters.

Name: Frank Castle/The Punisher

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Affiliation: The Punishers

History:

Frank Castle was born in raised in Brooklyn. Right out of high school he married his sweetheart Marie and signed up for the Marine Corps. He and Maria had two children Lisa and Frank Jr.

Castle was an exemplary Marine and soon joined Marine Special Operations Regiment, a special forces unit. Frank saw major combat in Afghanistan. On a routine mission in the Khyber Pass, Frank's entire squad were wiped out by a Taliban ambush. Frank, the sole survivor, proceeded to kill every Taliban soldier. Frank was wounded in the fight and sent home, awarded the Navy Cross for his actions and honorably discharged from the Corps.

A month after he was home, Frank and his family had a picnic in Central Park. Unfortunately, they were there at the same time as a botched mob hit. Frank and his family were caught in the crossfire. Frank was wounded, his family was killed. The two assassins who were responsible for their deaths were acquitted by a corrupt judge and jury. The assistant district attorney who tried to case was Adrian Chase, a survivor himself of criminal violence. As devastating as it was for Chase to lose the trial, for Frank it was so much worse.

That was when Frank Castle ceased to exist. Taking what little money he had, Castle put it all into weapons, gear, and a safehouse and proceeded to wage a one-man war against the Scargetti Crime Family, the employers of the two assassins responsible for his family's death. While effective at first, Castle soon realized soon that he could not do it alone. If this was a war, then he would need an army.

Rachel-Cole Alves, a fellow Marine who lost her new husband thanks to violence, was the first recruit. Second was Yorkie Mitchell, a British ex-pat Castle served with in Afghanistan. Together, the three tore through the Scargetti Crime Family like tissue paper. The NYPD began to look into the vigilante murders. The NYDA's office assigned Adrian Chase to the case. Castle was the prime suspect and Chase tried to reach out to him to talk some sense into him. Instead, Chase was recruited and the vigilante group gained a fourth member. Together, the four destroyed the last remnants of the Scargetti Family and stole five million dollars of their laundered money for operational cost. Now, the band of four are average New Yorkers by day and something else altogether at night. They are not agents for justice or truth. Frank Castle and his group deals in one absolute principle: the wicked should be punished. And they are the Punishers.

Supporting Cast:

Rachel Cole-Alves: Fellow Punisher, former special forces operator.
Michael "Yorkie" Mitchell: Fellow Punisher, ex-SAS commando and MI6 agent.
Adrian Chase: Fellow Punisher, New York ADA
Microchip: Hacker, Punishers ally.
Martin Soap: NYPD detective, Punishers ally.
Oscar Clemons: NYPD detective investigating the Punishers.
Barracuda: Hitman and former special forces operator.
Finn Cooley: Irish mobster and IRA member.
William Rawlins: CIA agent investigating the Punishers.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?: Castle doesn't roll solo anymore. He has a dope squad with him. #squadgoals. I want to set up each one with a unique character and voice. They'll work together and solo to deal with the corruption that's run rampant in NYC and America as a whole #lifegoals. If you're wicked and have profited off the suffering of others, you will be punished #murdergoals.

| NAME |
Kai-ro, Green Lantern of Sector 2814

| ALIGNMENT |
Lawful Good

| AFFILIATION |
The Green Lantern Corps

| HISTORY |
Kai-ro is a descendent of the ancient and extinct civilization of Nanda Parbat, born on Earth as the off-spring of refugees who escaped the destruction of their homeworld and were successful in integrating into human society centuries ago. Born into an impoverished family living in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, Kai-ro became one of many boys orphaned into the various Buddhist temples throughout the Himalayans. As a result, Kai-ro is fluent in both Tibetan and Mandarin Chinese, being formally educated in the latter while more often speaking the former in normal conversation while 'growing up monk.' Functioning like a boarding school and orphanage, the monastery saw to all of Kai-ro's basic needs while providing for his education.

It was during Year 3 of our story's continuity that Kai-ro's story became something beyond that of a simple monk, living and learning in a temple in China. For it was in that year that the Green Lantern Abin Sur took off his ring and retired from the Corps. That ring was sent to search the universe for one whose will was strong, one who would stand up in brightest day and darkest night. And that ring found a young Tibetan monk named Kai-ro and the ring spoke to him and said, Kai-ro of Earth, you have the ability to overcome great fear.

Transported by the ring to the Corps Headquarters on the planet Oa, Kai-ro found himself indoctrinated into a new order and discipline; that of the Green Lantern Corps. Graduating from Killowog's training, the boy finds himself charged with maintaining peace and order in the wider galaxy, while ensuring that Earth remains out of the growing conflict between the Shi’ar and the Kree. He returned to Earth several months ago, garnering much attention for his youth and abilities.

| SUPPORTING CAST |
Clarissi Salaak – The title roughly translates as 'Commander', denoting that this Slyggian from Sector 1418 and veteran Green Lantern is one of the chief administrators of the Lantern Corps, and is responsible for directing the Enforcement branch of the Corps.

Kilowog – Kai-ro's drill instructor and trainer, a Bolovaxian from Sector 0674.

Ch'p – A squirrel or chipmunk-like alien from the planet H'Iven in Sector 1014.

Aya – An artificial intelligence which exists as a humanoid robot and the computer of the Guardian patrol ship, Sentinel.

Uatu, the Watcher – The GLC Dispatcher for Sector 2814, based out of the Blue Moon Area of Luna.

| VARIATIONS ON A THEME |
This interpretation stays true to the DCAU Kai-ro, except that this version has Abin Sur's ring whereas the DCAU Kai-ro used John Stewart's ring, owing to the reinterpretation of him as a surrogate Hal Jordan. This is obviously flexible if we have someone who wants to come in as Hal Jordan.

Additionally, I’ve broadened the notion of the GLC from “Cops in Space” to more of a UN Peacekeeping Force, charged with maintaining the security of neutral borders such as keeping Earth from being used by either the Shi’ar or the Kree in their interstellar war. I’ll also incorporate the Z’ynx (Snarks) and the Kymellians, with the idea that the GLC works to prevent non-space faring civilizations from being corrupted or enslaved by exposure to more advanced races, in order to incorporate the notion of the GLC alongside the Marvel universe with its many warring alien factions.

New Frontier: DC/Marvel One Universe RP application:

Clark Kent - Kal-El - Superman.
Lawful Good.
Unaffiliated.

"It's not about where you were born. Or what powers you have. Or what you wear on your chest. It's about what you do... It's about action."
-- Clark Kent.

History:

Nearly three decades ago the Last Son of Krypton’s life raft crash-landed in “New Frontier” Smallville, Kansas and Kal-El, son of Jor-El, became Clark Kent. Unlike mainstream Smallville, Frontier Smallville is a hard, unforgiving place and Clark’s childhood was equally unforgiving. The post-agricultural town has been all but stripped of its character by economic downturn after economic downturn and farms that had been family-owned since before the Civil War have been driven to ruin. Kent Farm perseveres partly due to Jonathan Kent’s pig-headedness and partly due to Clark’s abilities alleviating the pressure on the Kents.

Though he is loathe to leave his adoptive parents, Clark dreams of a day when he can leave dreary Smallville behind and see the world. He’s clever, much cleverer than any Kent before him, and Martha pushes him to apply for colleges rather than follow in Jonathan Kent’s footsteps. Clark would study Journalism at Metropolis University although his storied career as "Superman" (then referred to in the pages of the city's less reputable news outlets as "The Blur") would take precedent over his studies. After graduating he would take up work at the Daily Planet alongside Lois Lane, Perry White, and Jimmy Olsen. The reports of a figure pulling people from car wrecks, rescuing them from fires, and anonymously apprehending criminals seemed to grow in frequency after Clark began work at the Planet until one act would finally force "The Blur" out into the open.

The mutant terrorist Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants would make an attempt on the life of President-elect Robert Kelly (R) that would require Clark, as well as many other masked vigilantes from across America, into battle for all the world to see. After an adruous battle, Magneto was defeated and Clark, feeling compelled by the moment, would use the occasion to call for peace between mutants and humans and for President Kelly's Mutant Registration Act to be repealed. The Daily Planet would dub him "Superman" and at first the people of America would love him.

Until superhuman villains began to appear across the country - some mutants, others not - that would make a mockery of Clark's call for peace. The Daily Bugle would dub Superman, as they did Spider-Man, a menace and question his patriotism for denouncing the Mutant Registration Act. One man, Lex Luthor, would offer Superman a chance to put a halt to the media whirlwind around Superman's repudiation of legislation passed by a democratically-elected Congress. Join his Justice League of America and the hatchet jobs would come to an end. Suspecting that Luthor was behind the hatchet jobs and having learned of Lex's true nature from Lois he refused.

Since then Superman has cut a solitary figure, watching over Metropolis, a liberal, metropolitan city at odds with the rest of the country, while the media fawns over Lex's Justice League of America - led by none other than Captain America. Superman and a cabal of other masked vigilantes, some of whom he teamed with during Magneto's attack, cast a watchful eye over this Justice League as a new presidential election nears. There is trouble brewing. That much they sense.

Supporting Cast:

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:

The Frontier version of Superman is far from universally loved. Though the world knows Superman thwarted Magneto’s attempt on Robert Kelly’s life, his usurpation of Kelly’s inauguration to condemn the Mutant Registration Act rubbed many Americans the wrong way. Mutants are still considered a menace and those that sympathize with them are treated with suspicion. Especially if they have powers themselves. This coupled with Clark’s crusade against Lex Luthor and his Justice League of America has led some to believe that Superman is a politicized, divisive a figure and many believe his growing politicization is the thin end of the wedge. Superman is at odds with the United States security apparatus and SHIELD and its new Director Amanda Waller considers him a threat. It remains to be seen whether her fears are well founded or not.

Not to mention that Frontier Superman’s upbringing is slightly different. Frontier Smallville is not mainstream Smallvile by any stretch of the imagination. What were once prosperous, family-owned farms have been reduced to squalor through a combination of economic downturn and greedy corporations undercutting them. Only the Kent farms remains and even that is not what it was. Having grown up in that environment, to a harsher Jonathan Kent, this Superman is deeply driven by a sense of fairness. It manifests itself both in his dislike of anti-Mutant sentiment and his ill feelings towards Lex Luthor and his Justice League.

Sample Post:

SHIELD Helicarrier
30,000ft above Puerto Rico

A gust of wind passed through Conference Room B as Superman’s hulking figure appeared in the crowded room. Several SHIELD agents assembled around the long table climbed to their feet and unholstered their weapons. The volley of loud clicks lasted several seconds before Superman tipped the contents of his hand onto the floor of the conference room. Two-dozen bullets tinkled along it and Superman smiled at the woman sat at the head of the table. Director Waller cleared her throat and stood up from her seat with a scornful look in her subordinate’s direction.

“If you are done embarrassing yourselves, gentleman.”

The SHIELD agents placed their weapons back in their holsters and filed out of the room with sheepish looks. Superman waited until the room was emptied before unfolding his arms and nodding politely to the SHIELD Director.

“Director Waller.”

“Superman,” Amanda Waller said with a smirk as she gestured to a seat. “To what do I owe this pleasant surprise?”

Superman flicked his bright red cape over the back of the seat and sat down.

“I thought it was about time you and I sat down across from one another and had a civilized discussion.”

Waller chuckled.

“Would it have killed you to have called ahead?”

“I don’t know,” Superman said with a searching look. “Would it?"

Waller smiled as she wagged her finger in Clark’s direction. “You’re cannier than I gave you credit for, Superman.”

Superman took a look over his shoulder at the security camera in the corner of the room. He knew that King Faraday, Deputy Director of SHIELD, was in the control room by now listening into their conversation.

“Now that we’ve been properly introduced maybe you could tell your man Faraday to stop sending his drones after me. I’m sure the money SHIELD spend scrapping them for parts after I’m done with them would be better spent elsewhere.”

He had first noticed them six months ago but they’d grown in number since then. Rarely a day went past now without having to down one or two before he made his way home. What was what an annoyance had grown into a genuine hindrance. Every second he spent dragging those things out of the sky was a second not spent helping people.

“Faraday thinks he’ll have your name, date of birth, and social security number on my desk within six months. I’m thinking more like… nine.”

“I'm flattered but I think SHIELD has slightly more pressing things to worry about than my home life.”

One of Waller’s eyebrows lifted involuntarily at that and a playful look appeared on her face. “Oh?”

“Lex Luthor,” Superman said calmly. “The Justice League of America.”

“How disappointing,” Waller said with a pained sigh. “I had heard you had it out for Luthor but I didn’t realize just how much. What’s wrong? Are you that upset Luthor’s Justice League has upstaged you? Is that it?”

Clark tried his best to disguise that the barb rattled him but Waller notice the slight gritting of the teeth. Superman’s dislike of Lex Luthor was common knowledge. Whilst the rest of America was enamoured by the billionaire playboy that financed the Justice League of America, Clark was certain that Luthor was a crook.

When Superman opened his mouth to speak the voice that came out was gravely serious.

“You are going to have blood on your hands if you place your trust in Lex Luthor.”

Waller stared at the superhero unblinkingly as the corners of her mouth twisted into a knowing smile. “Who says I don’t already?”

Beneath the table Clark’s hands balled into fists out of frustration. He could lift a car with a single hand or melt a steel beam with his eyes but try as he might he couldn’t make these people see what was right beneath their noses.

“If I was your enemy I could have snapped your neck in the time it took you to blink. Yet here I am talking to you like a reasonable person. Isn’t that enough to make you question whether maybe you’ve got the wrong idea about me?”

Waller shook her head.

"The fact you could do that is enough to make you my enemy, Superman."

It was only then, staring into Waller's dark brown eyes, that Clark realised the truth. It wasn't that they weren't afraid of him. They wanted to control him. For as long as he wasn't under their thumb they would consider him an enemy of the state. Luthor's League got a free pass because they signed on the dotted line. Unless Clark did the same they would hound him until his dying day - even if it meant hugging his enemies close to them to force his hand.

"I'm sorry you feel that way."

It didn't make a difference. He would be there for them when Luthor made his move. Not because it was the right thing to do or because he wanted to but because they would need him. Between Waller's blinks there was another heavy gust of wind and by the time she opened her eyes she was alone, staring at an empty seat that Superman had once been sat in.

How does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:

Paranormal ghosts may not exists (well at least in our world) but people are certainly haunted ghosts of the past. Last vestigial motes of could of beens and what ifs. This incarnation Black Widow that I'm aiming for is very much haunted by the Ghosts of the Past. I always figured it made sense given her character and her history. A child of war, turned killer, spy and assassin while others her age learned to like boys and did algebra. She's killed more men then many men will ever in their lifetime and she's watch her own world rise and crumble around her while she remained almost suspended in time watching those around her age and fall to a place where sane minds do not dare venture. And the Ghosts of her deeds haunt her, the are specters in her sleep and ghastly flashes across her eyelids when they close for a moment.

And unlike the Black Window of mainstream, none of it just goes away because she falls for some boy. You don't just step away from a life of soviet doctrine being smashed into your head day in and day out, you don't just step away from the people that have become your family, you don't just defect because you might like a pretty boy. Black Widow is not a hormonal teenage, I've think she's gone past thinking with her sexual organs first. So yes this is a Black Widow that never left the KGB, that never defected who still holds alternative agendas, who carries secretes and operations behind the backs of her so called friends.

And it's all because well I have a little morality tale in mind, to tell you the truth. A story of revenge (a tired and well worn concept I know) and a story of duality. So while even she has mission from the the JLA and the Russians, she has another mission one more personal, one I created by taking a father figure and a ex-spy that has sort of been forgotten by the DC Mythos to create a classic tale of revenge. But Revenge is never quick and it's never easy. So well we will see what will happen won't we?

Diana Prince, AKA Wonder Woman

| ALIGNMENT: |
Chaotic Good

| AFFILIATION: |

| HISTORY: |
Wonder Woman has been in a constant flux, her memories telling her so many stories of who she is and what she represents. She’s been told she’s the daughter of Zeus, a warrior princess of the Amazons, a student of the martial arts, an elite operative for the agency known as SHIELD, and a herald of justice. She isn’t one of these things— she is all of them. Born Diana Prince in Gateway City, the girl that became Wonder Woman had three lifetimes worth of trials.

From her beginnings in Team 7, a black ops unit operating under authority from the agency known as SHIELD, to her awakening as an amazon and demi-goddess Wonder Woman has found herself tested by many as injustice plagued the planet. Challenged by gods, warlords, corrupt governments, gangs, corporations, mystics, and monsters Diana has refused to back down where evil overshadows good and she refuses to let it go unpunished. Her values have had many people unite behind her as they coined her a “superheroine” alongside many others of her ilk. But few of them have shown themselves to stand with her when things looked the most bleak… at least for a time.

In 2012, Diana returned to Gateway City and to America and began fighting injustice as she had in Eastern Europe, but it was here that she became in full-view of the media and the public as she defeated a sea monster summoned by Circe to destroy the pacific seaboard. She was coined “Wonder Woman” and the rest becomes history. Following this event she would go on to fight many who aligned themselves with evil and sin such as Silver Swan and Cheetah. As time would pass she would come to side with Superman and Charles Xavier on the Mutant Rights issue, assertively opposing assertions of a law that would bring more suffering and injustice. Nobody listened. When Magneto attacked the White House Diana aided in defense, but did not do it out of sympathy for President Kelly.

Declining Luthor’s JLA initiative, Diana has fought independently, continuing to spread her ideals. However these ideals have marked Diana in a bad light as conservative media paints her a ruthless intolerant extremist; and after her most recent encounter with business savant and medical expert, Cylvia Cyber, more people are starting to be wary of Diana and her brand of justice. As things turn up… SHIELD Director Amanda Waller looks to Diana with familiarity, confusion, and dread.

2016 is going to be hell.

| SUPPORTING CAST: |
Superhero Associates & Wards
    TBD

Other Friends & Allies
Steven Trevor - Former lead operative of SHIELD’s Team 7 and Diana’s former comrade. Given he is a special agent directly under Amanda Waller, Diana’s relationship with Steve is often times complicated and Diana doesn’t feel like she can entirely trust him.

Edward Indelicato - Lead Detective on Gateway City Police Department’s Special Cases Squad and oddly an ally Diana has come to trust.

Enemies & Rivals
Circe - Diana’s nemesis. Similar to Thor’s nemesis, Loki, Circe taunts Diana with countless schemes for apparently no reason. She’s completely hard to predict and much more difficult to deal with. Diana fears the day when Circe and Loki work together.

Amanda Waller - The current Director of SHIELD, and the former Commanding Officer of Team 7. Diana has a checkered relationship with Waller whom she believes in completely untrustworthy given her support to unjust laws and actions. Often times Diana does see her as a mirror of herself; the individual who is as ruthless and uncompromising as she is but on the opposite political plane. For years Waller believed Diana Prince to be dead until Diana’s reappearance as Wonder Woman.

Cylvia Cyber - A genius businesswoman, politician, and medical expert that continues to elude consequence. A co-funder of the Justice League of America, Cylvia is a cunning foe for Diana much like Lex Luthor is for Superman. Diana swears one day all of her ills will catch up with her and then the people will refuse to turn a blind eye. That will be a good day.

Cheetah - A former archaeologist that mutated into a anthropomorphic Cheetah; a mutation that darkened the once ambitious and eager woman into a monster of sorts. A monster Diana has had to put down on several occasions.

Ares - The Greek God of War finds himself at odds with Diana due to his attempts to manipulate the citizens of Gaia like he did in ages past. Diana has put a stop to his plans on several occasions.

| DIFFERENCE FROM SOURCE MATERIAL: |
I did a brief shot at Diana in Henry’s “Shattered Justice” game, but it sort of teetered out before I made a second post with her (it took me awhile to figure out how to go with her). I want to properly incorporate her in this game and run a Diana without as many walls for other players who might want to play Donna or Cassie. I’m taking my love of Greek Mythology and reading back up on it to reinvigorate my focus with character and plot ideas as well am looking forward to dealing with Marvel characters such as Thor.

I’m not going to lie, this Diana is different than the one most of us grew up with in the DC Animated Universe. But there is aspects of her mainstream continuity that I am using as a central point of development. Unlike my first go at Wonder Woman this one is a lot more amazonian and olympian but without removing the “Agent Diana Prince” aspect I’ve enjoyed every since I read her run where the writers made her depowered and more focused on her wit and tenacity rather than her artifacts and superpowers. Still, Diana is here. Believe me.

Chloe Van Cleer/ Killer Moth

Alignment:

Chaotic Evil

Affiliation:

Self-Employed

History:

Chloe Van Cleer grew up in Limerick, Ireland, as a frail , unassuming young girl who was often taunted and picked on by bigger children. Her weak physicality offered her little protection, but as the bullying increased, so too did her mind sharpen. The children who targeted her would often find themselves stricken with mysterious illnesses, or injured at the hands of faulty classroom equipment. Some of the worst offenders would suffer fatal allergic reactions, at times where no medical help could reach them.

Chloe had more mental illnesses than friends, and spent most of her childhood burning off pent up rage by punching bags or people. She flunked pretty much every class, but excelled in extracurricular self-defense sessions. Boxing, wrestling, shooting, krav maga, mma, judo, and Jeet Kune Do; Chloe dabbled in pretty much every style of fighting that she could find a class for.

She dropped out of school to sell weed a few years later, and began using the profits to invest in herself as a gun-for-hire. Once she had enough money, Chloe cut ties with her family, and headed off to Gotham City, ready to make a name for herself in the criminal underworld.

Upon arriving in Gotham, it became painfully apparent that Chloe was a small fish in a very big, very murky, pond full of sharks and crocodiles. She could get the odd bit of work here and there, but most mob bosses just laughed her out of their offices, or tried to convince her to become a hooker. Angry and rapidly nearing bankruptcy, Chloe switched back to utilising the quick wits and devious mindset that had gotten her through her earliest years in Limerick. She needed an edge, not only on her targets, but also against other hitmen. That was the line of thinking which spawned the cocoon gun.

Chemical warfare was Chloe’s new gig, and being able to incapacitate whole room's worth of hired guns suddenly made her a lot more desired. Now working under the alias “Killer Moth”, Chloe is an up-and-coming star in Gotham’s dark underbelly, who will aid any gang or crime syndicate, as long as the pay is good enough.

Supporting Cast:

None at time of writing.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:

Apart from the obvious genderswap, I’ve tried to ground Killer Moth in a slightly more menacing, and slightly less ridiculous, set of circumstances. She has no single universe limitations. My intention is to use her as an adversary to some of the non-super powered heroes, and to develop my own individual story threads.

The New Frontier: DC/Marvel One Universe RP

Name: Peter Benjamin Parker, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!

Alignment: Neutral Good

Affiliation: None

History: Peter Benjamin Parker was born to Richard and Mary Parker, a middle class family living in Queens, New York. Richard worked as an administrator at a local hospital; Mary was an elementary school teacher. Peter, unfortunately, never really got to know his parents. When he was still very little, Peter's parents were killed in a car accident as they drove home from a night in the city. The orphaned Peter fell under the care of Richard's older brother, Ben, and his wife, May.

Ben and May raised their nephew as though he was their own child. Although they didn't have much in the way of money, they made every sacrifice possible to give Peter the bright future he clearly deserved. They encouraged Peter's love affair with science at every turn, even going so far as to let the boy turn the backyard shed into his own personal laboratory slash workshop. In turn, Peter loved his aunt and uncle as though they were his own parents.

At school, Peter struggled to fit in. His inability to relate to his peers and his general clumsiness made him an easy target for bullies like Eugene "Flash" Thompson. The more Peter became a social outcast, the more he escaped into his studies, beginning a vicious cycle of bullying and abuse. While his classmates chose to go to the mall or attend sporting events, Peter chose to spend his time at science exhibits -- which is how he found himself at STAR Labs on that one fateful day.

An escaped, genetically altered spider dropped down on Peter's hand and bit him. Peter spent the next three days of his life bedridden, nursing a fever and suffering through the worst flu-like symptoms of his life. But when the sickness passed, Peter emerged as a changed person. Somehow, the bite had transformed Peter on a genetic level, granting him the incredible abilities of a spider. He was strong, lean, and fast. He could perform incredible feats like crawling on walls. The discoveries brought Peter equal parts joy and terror. He feared the repercussions of revealing his condition and so kept his transformation secret from everyone, even Uncle Ben and Aunt May.

In no time, Peter found himself twisting his new abilities to his own benefit. He stood up to Flash Thompson, humiliating the bully in a lopsided fistfight in the cafeteria one day at school. Not long after, Peter answered the call for new fighters in an underground wrestling league. It gave him an outlet for all his pent-up aggression and let him earn a little money on the side to boot. Peter adopted the identity of the masked fighter "Spider-Man" and quickly rose to the top of the ranks. However, when someone robbed the wrestling promoter, Peter found himself under suspicion, as he was the only wrestler to keep his identity anonymous. Under accusations of theft and the demand to unmask, Peter angrily quit and stormed out.

Heading home in a sour mood, Peter paid no mind to the cries for help coming from down the street. A robber raced past, briefly making eye contact with Peter before continuing to run from the store owner giving chase. The man berated Peter and asked why he made no attempt to stop the robber, but Peter brushed him off and continued home. Later that night, May received a phone call telling her that Ben had been shot and killed in a carjacking attempt. Heartbroken and furious, Peter donned his wrestling suit and took off in pursuit of his uncle's killer.

The Spider-Man tracked the carjacker to an abandoned warehouse by the docks. There, the police were in the midst of a standoff. Spider-Man slipped past the barricade undetected and entered the building in search of Ben's killer. When at last Peter confronted the man, he recognized him as the same robber from earlier that night. Stunned, Peter lost his grip on the robber, who promptly fell to his death while making a desperate attempt at escape.

Wracked with guilt, Peter slowly faded into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come great responsibility.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?: Well, for the most part, I'm not going to bend over backwards trying to reinvent the wheel. This Spider-Man is going to be the Spider-Man that we all know and love. What excites me, though, is the prospect of getting to play with a whole new toy-box of supporting characters. As the supporting cast shows, I've already started the process of weaving those threads together, and I have many more plans once the dust settles on who's-playing-who. I'm also interested in the various team-up possibilities. Spidey talking Batman's ear off? Peter ending up in Metropolis on a Bugle assignment and getting a friendly rivalry started with Jimmy Olsen? Sign me up.

Sample Post:

I've never considered myself a terribly lucky person. In fact, you might've heard me throw around the phrase "Parker luck" once or twice. But then, that's the thing about luck: it's frustratingly fickle. One minute, you're king of the world and riding high, and the next -- as is more often the case in my life -- you crash and burn, finding yourself down in the dumps. So on those rare occasions when things are going well, it's important to sit back and enjoy the ride; after all, you never know just how long it's going to last.

Captain George Stacy's interview is playing on the television next to our booth at the Student Union. He sits across from Sally Floyd, one of the chief correspondents for Frontline -- the television branch of the Daily Bugle News network. Sally sits with her legs crossed and a notebook on her lap. Her eyes flick from her notes to Captain Stacy's gaze, and she smiles, saying, "Let's switch gears for a moment and talk about Spider-Man."

Captain Stacy doesn't flinch. He simply returns the smile and replies, "Let's."

"What your stance on New York's resident wall-crawler?" Sally probes, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

Stacy sits a little more upright in his chair. "Well, it's no secret, Sally. In fact, my stance on the issue is much the same as my department's," he begins, "We believe that Spider-Man currently poses no threat to public safety, and -- moreover -- he has demonstrated a consistent pattern of assistance in the prevention of violent crime and the apprehension of the most serious offenders."

The smile creeping across my face would be noticeable to anyone, if they weren't too busy watching the screen. Oh, Gwen. I could kiss your father on the mouth right now, I think silently to myself. Certain others at the table aren't quite so silent.

"You said it, Captain Stacy!" Flash Thompson declares emphatically. I can't help but appreciate the irony; the man who singlehandedly put Peter Parker through hell in high school is also Spider-Man's biggest fan. It's a fact I used to my advantage once, when my secret identity was very nearly blown to all of Midtown High School. Flash -- with his big mouth -- convinced everyone that there was no way "Puny Parker" could be Spider-Man. It's strange to think that I actually owe him one for that.

Next to me, Gwen bites her lip, and it's all I can do not to swoon right then and there. This girl could ask me to jump off a bridge, and I'd happily ask which one. She watches the television with concern in her eyes. "I just hope my dad is right about Spider-Man," she muses. "I don't know. I just... have a hard time trusting someone in a mask. Look at Superman! He doesn't use a mask."

"Yeah, I'm with Gwen on this," Mal Duncan chimes in. Mal's one of Flash's new teammates on the Empire State football team. Unlike the jocks I knew back in Midtown, Mal's actually a pretty cool guy. He's laid-back, non-confrontational, level-headed... basically, every Flash is not. "Dude dresses like a spider! It creeps me out. I hate spiders."

The girl on Mal's arm -- his girlfriend, Karen Beecher -- smirks and says, "Have you seen pictures of Spider-Man? With that body, he can dress however he wants!"

Mal turns his head and gives Karen a look. "Really, Karen? In front of me like that?"

She narrows her eyes. "Oh, like I haven't had to listen to you and your friends drool over Wonder Woman," she counters.

"Well, she is hot," Flash offers with complete sincerity.

As Mal punches Flash in the arm and Karen simply shakes her head, Gwen turns to me and regards me with those baby blues of hers. "What about you, Peter? You haven't said what you think about Spider-Man."

"If it doesn't come in a petri dish, Parker doesn't have an opinion."

I consider taking a jab at Flash and congratulating him on knowing about petri dishes, but I decide against it. Aside from the occasional snarky comment, Flash's behavior towards me has actually improved since coming to college -- if you can believe it. No need to rock the boat now. At least, not while I'm in this good of a mood.

"I think Spidey's probably just a normal guy, trying to do the best he can with the gifts he's been given," I state. My answer brings a small smile to Gwen's lips, and I feel myself reciprocating naturally. As I glance at the clock, I realize that it's gotten later than I thought it was. "Speaking of doing the best we can, I'm gonna have to rush to make it to lab on time. I'll catch you guys around!" Gwen gives me a pleasant wave, Flash offers his own half-hearted version, and Mal and Karen continue to bicker.

I swear, when things are going well, it's like even the sun is shining a little brighter! Empire State has always boasted a beautiful campus, but today I find myself appreciating it a little more as I power-walk towards the biology building. As I'm crossing the main quad, I feel the telltale sensation of my Spider-Sense on a low tingle. Spider-Sense? At school? My mind begins concocting all kinds of terrible situations that might've provoked it. Before I can figure it out, though, the answer hits me.

Literally.

I tumble to the ground, catching a glimpse of the errant skateboarder who crashed into me. His knee drives into my side and aggravates a bruise I acquired a few nights ago. I let out a stifled groan as I roll through the grass. The embarrassed skateboarder gets to his feet and nervously collects his things, blurting out a quick apology under his breath. "It's fine, dude," I offer as I climb to a knee. "That was probably my fault for, y'know, walking down the pedestrian pathway like that." But as I look up to see his reaction to my comment, he's already taken off down the quad.

Alright, so maybe not everything is going well for me today.

"Well, well. Look who's actually on time." Debra Whitman. My prickly labmate. Deb -- and she hates it when I call her that, by the way -- brought an Ivy League mentality to Empire State. From day one, she's looked at me like I'm her rival; not that I'd make for much of one, anyway, between my tardiness and my sudden disappearances and the like. Still, regardless of how she chooses to treat me, I've resolved to kill her with kindness. "Well, aren't you going to swipe us in?" she asks impatiently with a nod towards the card reader on the door.

Confused, I pat each of my pockets in succession. "I swear I had my keycard this morning..."

Deb rolls her eyes. "Of course," she begins, "Even when it seems like you've got your act together, you still find a way to screw it up." With a huff, she digs through her bag and finds her card.

"That's why I have you, partner," I reply with a kind smile.

I'm not the only person to be having a good week. Earlier this week, my mentor, Doctor Curt Connors, succeeded in his bid to study a new extraterrestrial virus discovered by the CDC. They believe that the virus was brought to Earth by one of the extraterrestrial heroes that have popped up in recent years, like Superman or that one Martian guy. Dr. Connors faced stiff competition in his bid to be the guy for this project; OsCorp, in particular, made a strong play for ownership of the virus. However, in the end, it was awarded to our lab.

After putting in my time at the lab, I emerge to find that the sun is only beginning to set. There's a pleasant breeze in the air, and I feel the rooftops calling to me. I'll tell you this about being Spider-Man: the fighting and the risking-my-life parts aren't so great, but the swinging? Man, I'd swing all day if I could. I wish I could describe to you just how liberating of a feeling it is. If I hurry back to my apartment, I can get out there with just enough time to watch the sun set over the city...

So far so good, right?

Name:
Scott Lang, AKA Ant-Man

Alignment:
Chaotic Good

Affiliation:
The Justice League of America

History:
After Scott Lang realized that he couldn't support his family through his repair work, he decided to use his skills to turn towards burglary, stealing just enough to get by. It wasn't long before Scott was apprehended and sentenced to spend the next years of his life behind bars. During this time, his wife Peggy divorced him, so when Scott got out four years later on early parole, he found that he had nowhere to go.

Wanting to continue to providing for his family, especially his daughter Cassie, Scott managed to get a job at a Wayne Enterprises branch as part of their ex-offenders employment scheme. Life gradually started to get better, that was until Cassie got sick, having been diagnosed as having a serious congenital heart condition. Desperate to help his daughter, Scott sought the aid of surgeon Dr. Erica Sondheim. However Scott soon discovered that she was mysteriously being held by Cross Technological Enterprises against her will.

Breaking into the home of Dr Henry Pym, the infamous Ant-Man, Scott stole the man's old Ant-Man suit, which he used in order to break into Cross Enterprises. Here he discovered that Dr. Sondheim was being held captive by the company's founder Darren Cross, who sought to use her to heal his own heart condition. During the struggle that unfolded, the villainous Darren Cross passed away after his heart gave way, allowing Scott to escape with Sondheim whom managed to save his daughter's life.

Scott was intent on returning the suit, however before he could Hank Pym informed Scott that he had watched Scott during his confrontation with Cross. Pym felt that Scott had what it took to take on the mantle of the Ant-Man full time, an offer Scott graciously agreed.

Having moved to New York, Scott fought as Ant-Man for around a year before he was approached by the Legendary Lex Luthor into joining his Justice League. Eager to make Cassie proud, he accepted.

Supporting Cast:
Superhero Associates & Wards
Hank Pym - Creator of the Pym Particle and the Ant-Man suit, Hank gave Scott his blessing to become the Ant-Man.

Lex Luthor - The benefactor of the Justice League, Scott finds the guy to be quite friendly and the two have a good working relationship. Requires approval from Lex player

Captain America - The leader of the Justice League, Scott grew up listening to stories of the war hero.
    Requires approval from Cap player

Thor - The actually Asgardian god Thor, as well as a fellow member of the Justice League.
    Requires approval from Thor player

Black Widow - A fellow member of the Justice League. A hot Russian redhead, what's not to like?
    Requires approval from Hexaflexagon

Superman - Unlike many members of the Justice League, Scott actually holds an appreciation for the big man in blue, although that might have something to do with the fact that Scott know's the man could absolutely destroy him if they came to blows.
    Requires approval from Morden Man

Allies and Friends
Raz Malhotra - Raz works at Lexcorp as a computer technician, although his area of expertise is actually artificial intelligence. Scott often approaches the guy for tech support whenever the rest or the League aren't around. Due to this, they soon became good friends.

Luis Peña - Scott former cellmate from his time behinds bars, Luis now serves as Scott's link to the criminal underground. Despite Luis' criminal ways and the fact that he keeps trying to convince Scott to turn back to crime, the two still remain friends.

Cassie Lang - Scott's daughter and the most important thing in his life right now. Scott shares custody of her with his ex-wife, Peggy.

The Ants - There are approximately over ten thousand trillion ants on the planet at any given moment, and all of them are under Scott's control. He tries to be "friends" with his employees, giving them names and treating them with care.

Enemies and Rivals
Peggy Rae - The ex-wife. Enough said.

The Atom - More of a friendly rivalry, Scott believes that his Ant-Man suit surpasses that of the Atom suit, leading to the two shrinkers to constantly argue.

Darren Cross - Former CEO and founder of Cross Technological Enterprises, Darren Cross was the first villain Scott faced. Believed to be dead after his heart gave out during his confrontation with him.

Taskmaster - Due to having fought against the guy on more than one occasion, Scott sees the man as one of his arch-nemeses. Taskmaster would disagree.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:
Scott doesn't really differ much from his comic iteration. Here however he worked briefly for Wayne Enterprises (I assumed that such a company would have ex-offender employment schemes or something). I'm basing the majority of how I play Scott on his current comic run, in that he's trying to care for his daughter, despite his ex-wife's protests, as well as the fact that I'd like to portray Scott as the "funny guy" i fell in love with.

Despite his friend's warning, he went head on against the terrorists and grabbed his father's bows, arrows, and knife. He had killed the guys in the control room and went from the office, where the other terrorists were at.

They were armed with a detonator to a battery of explosives; however, Oliver didn't know that and went into the room with a careless attitude. He managed to kill most of them and got the detonator out of one of the terrorist's hands, but it bounced and activated, blowing up half the rig, killing the remaining guests on the other side of the rig. Fortunately for Oliver, his life was saved by Tommy - but his friend had taken the brunt of the blast, and was very badly burnt. They both fell off of the rig and Oliver was washed up ashore on the remote isolated Starfish Island, with his father's gear.

1998 | He had been spending a year on the island as he developed his skills as a hunter to survive and gained mastery over his bow. During his time at the island, he had taught his self self-reliance and realized that his past self was selfish and horrible. He had become a man.

His second test of his new self was the discovery of drug smugglers, ran by the famous drug cartel, China White. She supplied heroin imports for the West Coast and the entire Pacific rim. Oliver found one of her operations in the island, though he was unaware that it was apart of a drug cartel's business. Using his new skills, he attacked and destroyed the operation.

After using one of the boats from the site, he delivered them to the authorities before returning home. He saw his mother for the first time in a year and half, now that she turned fifty. Oliver had to prove that he was a changed man before she could give the control of Queen Industries to her son. That was when he took up a job as the company's spokesman.

1999 | During his time as a spokesman, he took acrobatics hand-to-hand, and martial arts training to improve his fighting skills. Then, he took politics seriously and decided to study the US government. That was when he saw how high crime was from Seattle, despite having strict laws on guns and other things. And then, he decided to do charity work and used his job as a way to help out the underprivileged.

1999-2002 | After years of being the Queen Industries' spokesman, his mother soon retired and let her son become the CEO of his family's hard work. With the company's money near him, his first order was to invest in Seattle developing jobs for the unemployed and improving lives from the low-class.

Despite his efforts, the crime rate didn't change that much to make an impact in the city. Which made Oliver devastated and went to his dying mother for help and advice. She told him that he must be brave and do things that bring fear to the bad and hope to the good. Later on, she died peacefully in her sleep and left behind a despressed son. She was buried next to her husband and Oliver had to move on, despite losing his mother and letting his father die.

2002-2012 | Ten years had passed since his mother had died, the city of Seattle and their crime rate has increased because of the economic crisis. Oliver's hard work was from nothing as crime rose again, taking away more lives. His views on politics had changed as terrorism increased and immigrants were coming to America from around the world. Since Washington was a liberal state, Oliver had some liberal ideas; but, he also had conservative ideas as well.

Despite his obsession with politics, he haven't thought of becoming mayor of Settle and rejected the idea because the people won't like his conservative views on some points. While he was looking around his attic, he found some Robin Hood comics inside a box of childhood collections. He decided to take a look at them and similares with him, wanting to protect and avoiding orders for the poor.

With his training in archery and acrobatics, he decided to use the company's money to developed his gear and update his father's bows. He was going to become a crime-fighter, like Robin Hood.

2013 | A year since he had the idea of becoming like Robin Hood, he has learned several skills: disguise, stealth, and throwing. He was able to finish updating his father's bow and made some trick arrows to used in battle. Then, his design on his outfit was finally done and he decided to try it out. He knew from the moment that he had become The Green Arrow.

His motivation was to save the citizens caught in the middle of the criminals' terror.

2014 | There were more mutants and other superheroes than there was two years ago. This, of course, worried Oliver Queen as he views mutants with caution. He was a supporter of the The Mutant Registration Act and voted for Robert Kelly to become president. Oliver just wanted to protect the powerless from the powerful.

That was when he met his first villain, Onomatopoeia. A serial killer who targeted non-powered, vigilante superheroes. His ability was that he could imitate noises around him, such as dripping taps, gunshots etc. Green Arrow soon defeated him, but he was able to escape. The citizens of Settle had finally met Green Arrow from the first time.

A symbol of hope had come to the city for the first time.

2014-2016 | Now that Green Arrow has become well-known in the city, the city's underworld are starting to worry about him. That was when Brick, a brilliant criminal mind and metahuman, showed up and soon became the leader of half of the crime empires. Saying that he would take care of the Green Arrow before he collapses the empires and end his terror for good.

This was the start of Green Arrow's first test in protecting his city.

Onomatopoeia - A super-villain who only speaks in sound effect words and his own name. His origins are mysterious, but he uses expertise in martial arts to kill super-heroes. The costumes of his victims are taken as trophies.

Billy Tockman - A ruthless crimelord in Seattle He controls the city's waterfront and operates out of the Midnight Lounge.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?

The New Frontier version of Green Arrow is based on Prime Earth, Arrow, New Earth, and Justice League Unlimited. I want him to be skeptical of organizations like The Justice League or mutations like Superman and Magneto. And I want him to be interested in politics, not to the point where he's running for President (#Queen2020). Also, I want for him to kill with reason if he has no other choice or the villain becomes too powerful to stop him and then put him in jail.

If I would to become a hero, I would based my hero on the Green Arrow. I like the idea that he thinks that heroes shouldn't become too powerful and that the government should have programs that would stop Superman from going crazy or stop the formation of the Justice Lords. If this roleplay would have a secret division of the United States government (similar to Project Cadmus), then Green Arrow would support it. I also like how the fact that he thinks that he wouldn't fit in with an organization like the Justice League, because he just wants to help the 'little guy' and an organization would just 'forget about him'.

And, he has some interesting things that he says.

Damian al Ghul, Ibn al Xu'ffasch (Son of the Demon)

| ALIGNMENT |
Chaotic Neutral. Might shoot you in the back. Might save your life. Might get a cheeseburger.

| AFFILIATION |
The League of Shadows

| HISTORY |
Continuing South, Bruce found himself recruited into a band of mercenaries in Egpyt. It was here he learned the tactics of guerrilla warfare as Bruce was taught how to strike back against insurgent forces. During one penultimate firefight, Bruce and his allies found themselves ambushed leading to Bruce taking a bullet for his associate Marc Spector1. The two forged a friendship as they survived the ambush and helped patched one another up while Marc headed further into Egypt and Bruce made his way to Wakanda.

And now, the rest of the story.

Marc Spector hadn’t been the only one learning guerrilla tactics. Brought in to help finance the operation and supply weapons, Talia al Ghul was honing her craft in preparation for leading insurgents and directing political discord across the globe. What no one had planned for was Bruce Wayne. And long nights with dark knights.

Damian was born nine years ago in Bahrain. Raised as the grandson of Ra’s al Ghul, he knows only death -- nothing of love, very little about life, and even less about his father.

Rationally, he must have a biological sperm donor but all that he’s been told is that his mother is Talia al Ghul and he is the heir to the League of Shadows. As his ninth birthday approached, the boy was set upon a path that will complete his training as an assassin. The brutal slaying of the rival assassin Morgan Ducard was the first murder on this quest chosen for him by Talia, this Year of Blood.

One thing is very clear: Someone won’t live to see his tenth birthday. Possibly him.

| SUPPORTING CAST |
Ra’s al Ghul – The Demon’s Head, leader of the League of Shadows. He is like a GOD to Damian.

Talia al Ghul – Daugher of Ra’s al Ghul and Damian’s mother. Serves as his ‘life coach.’

Goliath – A demon from an unearthly realm, recovered as a man-bat cub during the Year of Blood. A familiar.

Nobody (Maya Ducard) – The daughter of the original Nobody (Morgan Ducard). Seeks revenge for her father’s vicious killing.

| VARIATIONS ON A THEME |
Actually, no. This is pretty straight stick and I wouldn’t see need to complicate it with needless intersections or cross-overs prior to the actual roleplay.

Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel

| ALIGNMENT: |

| AFFILIATION: |
The Justice League of America
SHIELD

| HISTORY: |
Not the first to bear the Captain Marvel name, Carol Danvers will most certainly not be the last. Working closely with SHIELD and the Intergalactic Community Carol tries to balance her sense of adventure, independence, duty, and ideals in a universe that wants her to be a militant drone and enforcer. She rejects that idea entirely.

As an adult, Carol found herself involved with NASA’s foray into a new space program which had her cross paths with Mar-Vell— a former member of the Kree Empire and an associate of NASA’s in the regards of interstellar expansion and affairs. Not too long after her initial meeting Carol found herself thrown into the thick of trouble when Kree forces appeared and attacked the base she was stationed on. Despite Marvel defeating the invaders Carol was thrown into a damaged Psyche-Magnitron; a device born of Kree technology. Carol was critically injured and the attack by the alien invaders was covered up by SHIELD. However, when she recovered something strange had happened: the damaged Kree technology had reacted adversely to Carol’s physiology, changing her genetic structure and molding her into a Kree-like being. The change would be one she wouldn’t discover for sometime.

Following her recovery, Carol eventually severed ties with NASA due to a variety of reasons she was not at liberty to disclose. As she began having strange blackouts and meta-phenomena she decided to check herself out by meeting with experts in the field of meta-biology. With information gained from the studies she would discover what the battle with the Kree had resulted in. As if on cue, SHIELD came walking into her life and she found herself recruited. Remembering Mar-Vell she would take on the codename “Captain Marvel”, a name that stuck. By 2013 she became a superhero in her own right.

In the years since, Mar-Vell has disappeared and Carol has found herself juggling Earth and the Intergalactic Community. She was recruited for Lex Luthor’s vanity project, the Justice League of America; though there is a bit more to it than just allegiances between corporate and federal lines. Though Carol is finding it rather uncomfortable in her position as lines are beginning to be drawn in the sand.

| SUPPORTING CAST: |
Superhero Associates & Wards
Mar-Vell - The man, the myth, the inspiration. Without Mar-Vell Carol’s life would be a lot less dangerous and a lot more boring. Despite his absence from Earth Carol hopes he is well given the dangerous machinations of the situation in the greater galaxy.

Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) – Inspired by her idol, Captain Marvel, Kamala uses her powers to protect Jersey City.

The Justice League of America – Her teammates.

Other Friends & Allies
Abigail Brand - Some might say Abigail Brand got hell of a pay increase when she recruited Carol into the agency, but the former SHIELD operative and now high ranking officer is a no nonsense ally to Carol. She suggested the idea for Carol to involve herself with the JLA.

Jessica Drew - A woman who works closely in SHIELD as a field agent. Perhaps the “ice” compared to Carol’s “fire” relationship with Brand, Jessica is not only a former comrade of hers but a close friend who has been known to get involved in Carol's hijinks.

Enemies & Rivals
    TBD

| DIFFERENCE FROM SOURCE MATERIAL: |
Honestly, unlike my last attempt at Carol this one is a bit more conventional and not a shitty mixture of her and Shazam. I have stories this time too! Yeah, I know weird right? Anyway, this has some minor differences (mostly trimming of the fat) from Carol’s 616 origin. Which is mostly… her joining SHIELD after leaving NASA. The rest is in-universe melding.

| REFERENCES: |

| SAMPLE: |
The world sure had changed a lot since she was a kid. But that was probably a given, wasn’t it?

Carol Danvers had been sent to Coast City to investigate a lead that suggested a new sect of mutant extremists under the ‘Brotherhood of Mutants’ banner had surfaced. The extremist group had caused more problems than they were worth since their attempted assassination on President Robert Kelly failed all those years ago. That was back when people didn’t paint heroes like Wonder Woman and Superman with words such as “obsessive” and “ruthless”. Those were at least better days, as far as Carol was concerned.

So here she was in Coast City, hoping it wasn’t going to go south on her.

The idea of the MRA still seemed all so… wrong to her. It felt exactly what Superman and Professor Charles Xavier warned the government about, which was borderline tyrannical. Now, she didn’t think President Kelly was neo-Hitler or anything but the whole idea reeked of misguidance based on fear of “what if”. Had Captain America not lifted everyone beyond that? Hadn’t the world moved forward through hope?

Men in Suits clamoring on ironically about accountability and safety wasn’t new, sure, but Carol felt the toxicity that the Kelly Act endorsed was. She hadn’t lived in a time of tyrannical oppression, she was born in 1984. She didn’t know what it was like to be a Japanese citizen in the United States during World War II. But this time they were rounding up people that were quite similar to her; happenstance made them discover great abilities. How long would it be until the MRA included people outside of a mutated metagene? How long until they asked Superman to give out his name or face legal opposition?

A heavy sigh left her lips as she flew past Ferris Aircraft Stadium, until she saw the scene in the parking lot of the arena. That was strange, right? The Sharks hadn’t gotten in the playoffs in over thirty years and their conference in over eighteen; but people didn’t care this much.

“When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty! We refuse to allow President Kelly to treat us like monsters!”

A shame. She was hoping it’d just be a bunch of angry sports fans. Still though, this wasn’t a radical call to arms or borderline terrorist behavior. This guy wasn’t the main attraction— the Brotherhood didn’t do peaceful protests.

A heavy sigh left her lips as she continued to look down on the scene; trying to see if she could pinpoint someone dangerous.

At least it hasn’t turned into a full-on riot yet. Carol thought aloud as she crossed her arms.

When the Brotherhood pulled out their cards, so would the Justice League of America. But what was mostly strange to Carol was that nothing had happened so far. Usually when they got somewhere there was trouble starting. Did they catch this early or did Luthor have some bad intel? It didn’t make any sense, Luthor never had bad intel. None of the people below were flying the flag of the Brotherhood of Mutants and looked just a normal peaceful protest; and the police were keeping their distance. Nothing like Ferguson.

Carol’s eyes scanned the crowd, trying to pick out anybody she recognized— her experience in SHIELD allowed for her to have some knowledge her partners on the league didn’t. But she saw nobody: Mortimer Toynbee? Frederick Dukes? John Allerdyce? Pietro & Wanda Maximoff?

“Do you really think peaceful assembly is something they will answer to? Fools!” A voice broke through the crowd, but Carol couldn’t get an ID on them. “If you want change you have to MAKE change!”

Here we go.” Carol muttered under her breath.

Carol reminded herself that the enemy down there inflicted terror. They were not the voice of the people she felt sympathy for and right now it was about to get hairy. These were people who followed the zeal of Magneto and answered with vicious violence. If they were not dealt with swiftly they would endanger the safety of innocent civilians. She shook her head; attacking a public event like this was senseless and had no statement other than reinforcing the government’s belief on the mutant issue.

She smirked as a thought crossed her mind as she swooped down, glowing with golden energy. I don’t think so!

“Captain Marvel?! No matter.” The voice in the crowd shuffled and a sharp whistle followed.

The streets started to shake and that’s when Carol saw people she finally recognized— members of the Brotherhood of Mutants. It was dumb. She imagined Magneto would scoff at this motley crew of mutants chanting “brotherhood”. Then again, Magneto was a psychopath that believed he was some kind of mutant Malcom X, so maybe he’d think this was absolutely necessary.

Whatever the case, she was done gawking.

< “This is Captain Marvel to Justice League; looks like this protest is turning into a riot, feel free to you know... help. If you want. You know how the Brotherhood gets.” >

  • Miles Morales
  • Spider-Man (II)

| ALIGNMENT: |
Neutral Good

| AFFILIATION: |
TBD

| HISTORY: |
Jefferson Davis met Rio Morales at his physical therapist’s office in the great borough of Brooklyn, New York. Now, you can call it whatever you want – sappy, stupid, cliché – but the fact of the matter is, it was love at first sight. The moment he laid eyes on her, he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. And so, after much time spent debating whether or not it was a good idea, Jefferson came to the conclusion that he should ask her out on a date. And so he did.

The first date became the second. The second became the third. The third, the fourth. Before they knew it, they’d moved in together. After two months of knowing each other, they got married.

Talk about moving fast.

On the 3rd of August, 2001, they were given the greatest gift they could ever imagine: their son, Miles. Living in a small apartment in the sunny side of Brooklyn, Jefferson and Rio watched as their little boy grew into the slightly bigger boy they always wanted him to be. He was smart, thoughtful, resourceful; every bit his parents’ son. There was no way they could love him any more than they already did. But despite all his great qualities, they were saddened to see him struggle with other kids. To them, he was nothing more than a geek. But lucky for him, there was another boy that happened to be ten times the nerdzoid he was: Ganke Lee, legophile and proud. They soon became inseparable, and Jefferson and Rio couldn’t be happier.

The years sped by, and the family of three soon found themselves in a state of anxiety like no other. Miles, now aged thirteen, had applied for one of New York’s finest charter schools, Brooklyn Visions Academy, and the day had arrived where he would find out if he’d been accepted. After sitting through a nerve-wracking admittance ceremony, he was relieved to find out that he was.

After celebrating with his parents at a nice little restaurant, Miles rushed over to his Uncle Aaron’s to give him the good news. Unbeknownst to him, a spider there awaited him, one that would change his life forever.

It bit him, and Miles, having fainted, then come to, then fainted again, was forevermore banned from visiting his uncle at the behest of his father.

Over the following two months, the young man discovered and then tested some nifty powers he’d gained courtesy of the spider, sharing the knowledge of his newfound gifts with Ganke. Ganke, as hyped as one could be, told Miles that he should become Spider-Man’s sidekick. Miles, being opposed to the idea, told Ganke that he should go stick it where ideas don’t stick. Months passed, and Miles was able to control the urge to use his powers – but eventually, all things must come to an end.

Walking along the streets of Brooklyn, he bore witness to a building in flames, the screams of its inhabitants shrill and urgent. The fire department was on its way, but the fire was getting worse and worse in their absence. He didn’t have a choice. Hoodie up, he leapt into the inferno, carrying the family that was stuck in there to safety, one by one. As the firemen arrived Miles left, using his powers to appear intangible as he crawled up to the rooftops, where he would remain unseen. Little did he know that keener eyes saw inconsistencies in the light, and through further concentration were able to make out his form in the daylight. And so Spider-Man followed him, having observed his heroics, seeking to have words with the now fourteen year-old.

After getting over the stutter initiated by seeing his idol in the flesh, Miles heard Spider-Man out, who hoped to convince him to continue using his powers for good. Before he left, the web-slinger imparted a saying to Miles that would stay with him forever:

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

Encourage by these words, Miles went back to his dorm with new vigour. Sewing together a costume with Ganke’s help, he took to the streets as New York’s second Spider-Man, hampered by a lack of webs but nonetheless making do.

A few weeks in to his new career, Miles ran into his first real problem as a superhero – and it came in the shape of his uncle, Aaron. Aaron explained how he was a criminal, and how it was him that stole the spider that bit Miles. More than that, however – he knew that Miles was the new Spider-Man. As Miles tried to recover from that shock, he went on to explain that he owed money to some very bad people, and that they wanted him, for lack of a better word, dead. He then gave Miles an ultimatum: help his dear old uncle get rid of the competition, or let Aaron tell his father, a deadset anti-superhero, that his son was the very thing he hates.

Given a day to mull things over, he let Ganke know of his dilemma, desperate for guidance. At midnight, he made his decision.

He refused his uncle’s offer, rain falling around them as they stood on a rooftop. Needless to say, Aaron didn’t take it very kindly. Wearing a suit made by the Tinkerer, he attacked Miles, their fight quickly spinning out of control as it spilled onto the street. Miles, determined to bring his uncle to justice, slowly gained the upper hand – but in a last ditch effort to escape, Aaron set off an explosion to escape, disappearing without a trace. He hasn’t been seen since.

It’s been a few months since then, and the superhero life is treating Miles well – at least, as well as it can treat a fourteen year-old. Nothing but the future knows what it holds for him. Here’s hoping that it’s bright.

| SUPPORTING CAST: |

Moonlighting as a career criminal, he makes his money as the burglar known as Prowler; a choice of life that has left his brother, Jefferson, bitter. After stealing the spider that gave Miles his abilities, he saw his nephew as indebted to him; in his eyes, Miles owes him everything. An attempt at blackmailing Miles led to a rooftop battle against him, which ended in Aaron’s retreat.

Arthur Light / Doctor Light – A deranged criminal with photokinesis, Dr. Light is the persistent foe of a number of heroes.1

Marcus Lyman / Massacre – Caught in an attack that killed his wife and embedded shrapnel in his brain, Lyman lost the ability to feel human connection. With a new lease on life, he began taking on jobs as a mercenary – but not before targeting the man responsible for his misfortune.

1Pending approval from prospective players.
Enemies list subject to growth and change.

| DIFFERENCE FROM SOURCE MATERIAL: |
The only real difference from the source material here is the fact that Peter Parker isn’t dead. Instead, he serves as Miles’ idol, his guide in superheroics, and, eventually, his mentor. There are other minor differences, like the fact that Miles’ uncle didn’t die in their fight, but believe me when I say that they’ve been made for a purpose. Other than that, this is the Miles as seen in the comics (both Ultimate and his recent 616 run), who I hope will be able to make as much of a mark on this world as Eddie’s Peter.

Zebediah Kilgrave AKA The Purple Man

|Alignment|

Neutral Evil

|Affiliation|

Purely Self-Interest

|History|

Zebediah Kilgrave grew up in rural Surrey, as the youngest member of the esteemed Kilgrave family. His earliest years were ones of extreme privilege, but that was all swept away when his father's company went bankrupt. Zebediah spiralled from the upper echelons of society, and straight down to the bottom in the years that followed, leaving him with an unquenchable desire for life's finer commodities.

Kilgrave joined the army to get away from the life he despised, and did two tours of Afghanistan before his cruel cunning and ingenuity was noted by the British Government.

Getting bumped up to the special forces, Kilgrave was sent on an undercover mission to investigate rumours of the Russian Government's so-called "Department X".

Kilgrave was compromised, and his captors subjected him to countless twisted experiments in an attempt to implant him with the meta gene. Kilgrave's mutations did eventually manifest, in the form of pheromones which allowed him to control the minds of those within his immediate radius, for up to 12 hours without contact.

Escape was easy, when all he had to do was ask the guards to let him out, and soon Kilgrave was on the first plane to America.

He's spent several years drifting from place-to-place, taking whatever he wants from whoever he wants, and building his criminal empire.

|Supporting Cast|

This is Kilgrave at his earliest, having just gotten to grip with his powers, and had a few years of fun with them. So far he hasn’t turned any super heroes into super slaves.

|How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?|

I've made a few tweaks to his backstory, but all in all this is a fairly faithful depiction of Kilgrave, combining elements of his print origin story and the one seen in Marvel's Jessica Jones, as well as some content of my own imagining. I've also gone for him being a gentleman who likes to wear the colour purple, instead of a man with purple skin.

AQUAMAN

"The Strength Of Atlantis"

Name:
Arthur Curry Aquaman

King Of Atlantis
Orin, Lord Of The Seven Seas.

Alignment:
Lawful Neutral

Affiliation:
Atlantis
Justice League

History:
Aquaman was born in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, the heir to the queen Atlanna and the Great King Atlan, both beings of incredible magical prowess. The name his mother gave him upon his birth is Orin Of Atlantis, heir to the throne. He had a younger brother, born two years after him, named Orm. When Orin was three years old, the convoy he was transported with inside of Atlantis was attacked by a monster of mythic proportion, killing his convoy and causing a riptide that washed up him on land, where Arthur William Curry, a fisherman and owner of a lighthouse took him in and raised him as his own for several years, Orin's vague memories of Atlantis was thought to be nothing more than a child's imagination. For the coming years he had a normal childhood, fixated on water and a stronger swimmer than his peers.

Nine years later, when Arthur was 12 years old, people came to the lighthouse - the kind that didn't look familiar, out of this world. They wanted to kidnap The Prince and when his surrogate father resisted they killed him, striking him down like a dog, right in front of Orin. That was the first time Arthur saw someone die.
But it wouldn't be the last time. The would be kidnappers were destroyed by a young girl who also emerged from the water. Her name was Mera, and she had come to get Arthur.

Once he returned to Atlantis, things started coming back to him. He began remembering the submerged city, the aura of magical energy, the golden architecture and the long lost sense of grandure. Yet a deep sorrow in his heart. Mera, the girl who had saved his life tried to talk with him, cheer him up, but he was not in a talkative mood. he had already lost his dad today, only to be brought into the Royal Court to be greeted by a crying woman, claiming to be his mother her embrace reminiscent of a time long ago. She told him that his father had passed. That the King of Atlantis was dead.

Following the next six years, Arthur would learn about Atlantis, about his heritage and he would learn how to rule his kingdom. He would prove to be a strong warrior, a excellent tactician and a graceful king, putting his people before everything else. On his 18th Birthday he was crowned king, handed the Trident Of Poseidon and declared the ruler of the seven seas. The people of Atlantis rejoiced for a time.

Over the course of the next ten years, Orin would marry Mera and he would lead Atlantis with a strong hand, forever having Atlantis's best at heart. Yet, parts of him longed for the world he had lived in previously. The surface. Maybe it was tunnel vision, or that very same longing that made it impossible for the cunning king to prevent the betrayal he faced by his brother, Orm whom had plotted a coup against Orin to steal the throne.

Civil war erupted, many were dead, Mera and her unborn child included. Filled with anger and grief, he struck down his only still remaining kin, condemning Orm to a life of torture. His spirit broken, Arthur left Atlantis behind, to walk the Earth. In 2014, after a outing where he stopped a mutated sea beast from destroying an oil rig - thus preventing the biggest oil spill in human history, Arthur has become known to the world as Aquaman and asked to join Lex Luthor's attempt at a joint Superhero operation - the Justice League. He accepted. Once again, his mind is thorn, between being a hero and the king he used to be. He misses Atlantis, he longs to be with his family, yet he finds purpose in being a hero of the surface world.

Supporting Cast:
To be added onto once I've discussed possibilities with other players.

New Frontier-Effects:
For one, I wanted to play a.. More Gray-scaled Aquaman. He's a warrior, a soldier and a king, before he is a hero. Inspired by the JLU and Flashpoint versions of Aquaman. The goal with the character is to write a interesting story, weather it's justice league or Atlantis based, or anything inbetween, as I think Orin is a grosely underrepresented character without equal in that regard. Besides B'Wana Beast, of course.

Post References:

Notes
This entire sheet is based on the idea that nobody is playing Namor and therefore I've made no mention of him as that would complicate the entire sheet for no good reason, if anyone would be interested in playing the false king of Atlantis, we should collaborate a backstory that works with the two.

Today, I make no demands... no threats! But, one day, I shall voice demands -- and all shall obey them!
-Victor Von Doom

Name: Victor Von Doom

Alignment: Lawful Evil

Affiliation: Latveria

History:
Victor Von Doom was born in the hills of Latveria to a mother and father who travelled with a group of Romany gypsies, on the night of his birth there was a terrible storm and lightning struck the camp, some said it was a bad omen and talked of casting the newborn babe out but Doom's mother proudly declared that the Gods themselves had failed to kill her son and that no mortal would do any better.

Victor was raised in the travelling group for a few years, playing with another child of the group, a girl called Valeria; Victor was also taught basic arcane tricks by his mother and, being a child, he thought nothing of this. It was a happy existence until local soldiers came for his parents. It transpired that his mother had been arrested for practising witchcraft and she, along with Victor's father, had been sentenced to death. They were executed on the spot. Victor left both those he knew and Latveria itself, heading to America.

Victor spent many years in the states, his mind proved well-suited to learning the sciences and he greedily absorbed all the knowledge he could. Upon attending college he found himself sharing a room with another up and coming prodigy, Reed Richards. The two worked well together but their attitudes contrasted enough that, when a lab accident caused Victor's face to be scarred horribly, he bitterly blamed Richards and left the states shortly after.

Victor's life consisted of travelling during this period, he explored many areas of the world where no one had documented and learned many teachings from the wise figures he found; not limiting his education to (as he saw it) Western science, Victor broadened his understanding of the Arcane and Magyks of the world. It was here he began to refer to himself as 'Doctor' and clad himself in hooded garments to hide his deformity.

Victor ended up in Latveria and, seemingly without reason, launched a coup and took over the kingdom in quick succession. Within weeks he reorganised the country into a thriving and productive nation. He maintained a cordial if distant relationship with the United States, preserving Latveria's independence while maintaining an embassy in Metropolis. For its part, the US publicly decries the dictatorship of Von Doom whilst privately maintaining his diplomatic immunity and purchasing his weapons which have ended up in the US military and the black market alike.

Supporting Cast:
Kristoff Von Doom - Shortly into his reign Doctor Doom decreed that he would require an heir. All the Latverian villagers were required to bring their children to Castle Doom; Doom chose a boy from the crop of children and renamed the child 'Kristoff'. The boy has been kept in Castle Doom ever since and has remained at Doom's side, learning what he can. After years of exposure to Doom's personality Kristoff is a product of Doom's ideology and will often be left to rule Latveria if the monarch leaves the country.

Valeria - Victor's childhood friend grown up, Valeria made the mistake of not leaving Latveria. When Doom became ruler he had the young woman brought to him. It is said he proposed on the spot and, at her refusal, has kept her locked in the castle ever since; others say that she is under house arrest but serves as Doom's conscience when he will listen. Either way the public of Latveria know better than to speak of her anymore, Doom's ears are everywhere.

Boris - Doom's faithful servant. Not much is known about the elderly figure who sometimes appears by Doom's side but it is clear that Doom uses him for all sorts of functions in Castle Doom. He has known Victor longer than anyone else, having been present for his birth as part of the gypsy group that Doom's parents had joined.

Doombots - The mechanical facsimiles of Doctor Doom have been used in circumstances where Victor could not risk his own safety or had no interest in being present for. They are indistinguishable from the original Doom until their destruction, with the emergence of superpowered beings Doom has spent even more time making his creations appear human under the armour.

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:
In a world where characters like Superman and Thor can work together and Lex Luthor is currently a benevolent figure Doctor Doom, who typically works alone, needs to be a credible threat. So I shall focus on Victor's political skill as head of a sovereign nation, granting him diplomatic immunity, along with his considerable skill with magic.

Sample:

Castle Doom, Latveria
The shadows shook when Doctor Doom returned. As though anyone hiding within had taken a breath to steady their nerves at the sight. But no one was hiding in the shadows, no one would dare, Doctor Doom was back and no one could hide.

Doom knew the castle as intimately as he knew each and every inch of his armour, they were both made to his exacting specifications. Unforgiving and cold.

Doom had barely walked through the great doors of Castle Doom's entrance when the servants arrived. They busied themselves with the task of taking their master's cape, checking his armour for any imperfections and providing updates on anything, anything at all that had occurred in Latveria while he had been away. Doom barely noticed them anymore, they were performing their duty and doing so well, that was all that was needed. Not waiting for them to keep pace or remove themselves from his path Doom strode through the small mass of menials and made his way purposefully to his throne room.

The throne of Latveria was a marvel of technology, like all Doom's creations, it allowed a single person to activate and use all the means Doom had installed to run Latveria. From that throne one could quite literally control the entire country with the touch of a button. Like a great deal of the technology in Latveria the throne was imprinted to Doom's DNA and quite fatal to any who attempted to gain access without Doom's express permission.

Which is why Doom was beyond stunned to see another figure sitting atop it.

The figure was facing away from the room's entrance towards a giant screen that illuminated the room. The screen showed a very detailed map of Metropolis, the very place that Doom had returned from; as with all Doom's surveillance the map showed key points of interest labelling the city along with key and vulnerable features marked in notable hues. The indication was clear, whoever was trespassing in Doom's throne was clearly intending to use the resources he had accrued in a pointless attack on the American city.

The figure gestured and the large throne swivelled to face Doom. The figure on the throne wore Doom's signature armour, green garments and even his iconic mask accompanied by a green hood. In short, Doom was facing one of his own Doombots.

'What is this?' Doom's voice was cold and held the metallic tint of a voice obscured by a mask.

'Excellent, you have returned. Update me on the progress of our work in Metropolis.' The sitting copy's voice was richer and resonated with more force than Doom's own, a clear sign of a duplicate.

'Rise, you have forgotten your place.'

[color=ADFF2F]'I-'[color] The copy appeared momentarily confused. 'You dare question me?'

This was always happening, Doom mused under his mask, Doombots allowing their programming to make them forget that they were Doombots in the first place. Clearly a problem he would need to address.

'I order you now, speak! Detail the progress!'

'Enough of this charade.' Doom raised his arm, preparing to unleash an electronic pulse that would render the Doombot incapacitated. The Doombot did not move, it would be unable to anyway, Doom had installed many safeguards in his creations including programming that rendered them unable to attack their creator.

Doom activated the electronic pulse and...nothing happened. He tried again and still nothing. Now he was genuinely mystified; perhaps his armour had been hacked somehow or some virus that interfered with his weaponry.

Indeed, Doom was so confused that he didn't notice the copy rise from the throne and raise his arm in exactly the same fashion that Doom himself had done moments before.
What Doom did notice was the shock of electricity that ran through every nerve in his body, his armour shut down immediately and he felt himself fall to the floor, numbness setting in. His senses dulled and he found it difficult to see through his mask.

But he heard the laughter.

The copy stood before him. 'You, like many before you,' it spoke drily, 'are just another failure born of Doom's brilliance.'

With that, the standing Doom, for that was who he was, reached down and wrenched the head of the Doombot, for that was what it was, from it's shoulders. He held it aloft, almost fondly, before turning and striding back to his throne. With a simple movement he deposited the Doombot's head onto an arm of the throne.

Immediately information of the Doombot's progress filled the screen, days of work and many activities were compartmentalised and given order in nanoseconds before appearing on the large screen. Doom analysed the information in silence before rising once again from his throne and beckoning to Boris. The old man stood to one side of the room, out of distance of any potential danger that the Doombot could have caused, at Doom's gesture he approached the throne.

'My Lord?'

'The time has come Boris, prepare my private jet.' Victor Von Doom surveyed his map one last time and knew that the pieces had all fallen into place. 'Today we fly for Metropolis!'

Boris nodded hurriedly and turned to leave.

'And Boris,' the old man stopped, Doom gestured to the ruined Doombot on the floor, 'Have that cleaned up.'

Name: Thor Odinson, God of Thunder, Prince of Asgard Exile of Asgard
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Affiliation: Asgard, Justice League

Thor!! The legendary God of Thunder!! The mightiest warrior in all of mythology!! This is HIS hammer!! And I- I AM THOR!!!
-Thor, God of Thunder.

History:

Thor is a God of Asgard, the son of Odin Allfather and heir to the throne of the Gods. When Midgard was new and its inhabitants more open to the possibilities of the universe the Gods and all manner of beings walked among them freely. However, as mankind grew in power and their belief in things beyond their comprehension waned, Odin decreed that all things from the Eight other Realms would leave Midgard to its own devices.

In the time since then, individuals began to appear in Midgard with abilities to rival the gods themselves. Thor, Son of Odin demanded that Asgard open its gates and allow interaction with Midgard once again. When Odin refused, the younger God insisted that Odin was an old fool, out of touch with those around him. For his arrogance and disrespect Thor was immediately banished to Midgard where Odin felt he would learn more respect.

Thor arrived on Earth in 2014 and was immediately spotted by multiple forms of surveillance, many factions approached him but the first to get to him was Lexcorp. Lex Luthor himself approached the God of Thunder and offered to reacquaint him with the world. Within a few days Thor was operating on a global level, battling criminals both superpowered and on a street level. His bombastic attitude and easy charisma led to him quickly receiving popularity among the general public. Any damages were taken care of by Lexcorp and Lex himself made sure to regularly publicise Thor’s victories, involving himself involved in some capacity.

Thor soon after was recruited into and present at the unveiling of the Justice League.

In the years that followed, Thor divided his time between supporting his allies in the Justice League and fighting his own battles. The emergence of figures such as the Enchantress and Surtur has led Thor to believe that there are events going on in the Nine Realms that he isn’t aware of, but he finds the amount of events that are concentrated on Earth troubling.

Supporting Cast:

How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:

This is a Thor who has only recently arrived on Midgard, he is still dealing with being an exile from Asgard and hasn't overcome the pride and arrogance that got him banished in the first place. Whereas the MCU was very coy about calling him a God, given the presence of other pantheons in this world, we're going to go with Thor being very much a God fallen to Earth. As a result, his understanding of many factors of life on earth is limited, he sees life as an epic quest (revolving around him) and hasn't really had time to stop and think.

In addition, Thor has not seen any Asgardians other than fellow exile the Enchantress. I'm not saying they aren't around, pulling strings, but this early in Thor's career I feel they work more as an unseen force rather than being heavily involved in stories. Not that this situation cannot change down the road.

There will be no human identity for this portrayal of Thor, at this point I don't feel it's needed in a world as big and full of heroes as this.
I would like to explore matters of belief, how different pantheons can coexist (if @Gowi is willing) and to make Thor a less serious character than he's been portrayed as in the comics recently. By focusing on what, for him, is an earlier time I think that all this is possible.

| Name: |
Matthew Murdock (Attorney at Law)

| Alignment: |
Chaotic Good

| Affiliation: |
Manhattan/Hell's Kitchen
Nelson & Murdock, Attorneys at Law

| History: |
Born to a nameless mother, Matthew grew up with his father, Jack Murdoch, a semi-pro underground boxer for Hell's Kitchen and its underbelly. Jack had a penchant for getting back up off the mat despite however many broken bones he'd picked up, and this trait seemed to pass to Matthew, who would treasure it in later years; for most of his childhood, however, Jack tried to keep his only family hidden from the violence that plagued the downtrodden Manhattan neighbourhood and instead directed Matthew's attentions to his studies, making sure he kept up in school until Matthew started to excel by himself. Jack was proud that such a bright child could be called his, and he foresaw an escape from Hell's Kitchen for his son.

At nine years old, Hell's Kitchen put its claim on Matthew Murdock. A traffic accident and a brave, but reckless, act by Matthew caused a truck hauling chemical waste and toxic run-off to crash and overturn, spilling its cargo across the road and onto several bystanders - Matthew, who had shoved an old man out of harms way, was caught in the spill, the chemicals hitting his eyes and causing him to go permanently blind. Jack and Matthew's lives changed irrevocably - Matthew bound to the abilities that would reveal themselves over the next few months and years, and Jack bound to dealing with a disabled son who displayed abnormal reflexes and sensory overload.

Matthew spent his formative years learning his new place in the world, refining the senses he had left and continuing his studies. Jack continued boxing, losing and winning when the local wanna-be mafia told him to, until eventually - as he realised Matthew's abilities and intelligence were beginning to pull him to greater things, although his devotion to his father kept him rooted - he took a final stand, winning an against-all-odds boxing match in Round 9 against 'Crusher' Creel, despite being instructed to stay down in the fourth. Jack Murdock never made it home.

Matthew fled Hell'd Kitchen, cursing the criminals that had shaped his life, and ultimately ended his father's. He found refuge in an nun's orphanage for a time, until his abilities took the notice of a blind man who called himself 'Stick'; Matthew left with Stick to train his mind, senses, and body, and he never looked back.

Many years later, Matthew returned to Manhattan to pick up where he had left off in his education; securing a place at Columbia, where he met Foggy Nelson, and going on to secure a Summa Cum Laude Law Degree from Harvard Law, with Foggy attaining a Cum Laude Law Degree alongside him. Together, the two founded 'Nelson & Murdock, Attorneys at Law', and moved back to Hell's Kitchen - where they had both grown up - to try and change life for the better. Matthew soon found that courtroom law was far from the 'justice' he sought for the people of Hell's Kitchen.

At first, it was those in his immediate vicinity; a blindfold and dark clothes for the domestic abuser in the next building over, the cop taking bribes from the local dealer to keep him operating on student corners. Beyond that, Matthew moved his scope to the broader picture, donning padded athletic wear and a more stylised 'mask' to take on gambling rings and amateur human trafficking. Soon enough, Matthew saw too much in court to stand by action-less any longer. It was time for the suit, to combat the massive crime organisation that underpinned the criminal everyday of Hell's Kitchen.

It was time for Kingpin. It was time for Daredevil.

| Supporting Cast: |
Foggy Nelson - Best Friend, Law-Firm Partner
Karen Page - Close Friend, Law-Firm Secretary
Stick - Former Trainer

| How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?: |
My Murdock draws heavily from the Netflix series version - the same show that forced me to appreciate the character in the first place. He's practicing law, and already has his suit - but is yet to be coming fully to blows with the entirety of Wilson Fisk's (a.k.a. The Kingpin) criminal organisation.
