Marsaili

Having made her way into the city, Marsaili was beginning to wonder if the height choice had really been her greatest move after the whole 'dying' thing. Having spent more than twenty years towering over everyone and anyone aside for some coworkers, she had definitely been expecting it to take some adjustment to being smaller again... but the level of change was hard to account for. Seven feet to four and three quarters made everything far more intimidating.

She hadn't gotten this far in life--well, hadn't, at least--by letting scary things get the better of her, like having to be slammed through a metal cage by a guy with more muscles than brains. So she just adjusted the panda hood, which was definitely the second best thing to come of all this so far, and kept walking around, getting the hang of 'living' (she was definitely in a... grey area) again until the quest window showed itself. The wrestler regarded the choices before picking the one that, though marked as medium, was definitely more in line with her skills than the easy task.

It wasn't like she was Steve Irwin; she hadn't much of a clue how to go about wrestling wild animals. Instead, the short-haired girl had opted for a far more straight-forward task: delivering a message! That way, if things did go wrong, her normal skills would still be applicable to some degree or another.

Looking for the actual... well, message, and her fellow couriers was successful and eye-opening. Some random winged woman came out of nowhere and just... groped another girl for no apparent reason before getting driven off.

"Does... does that happen a lot, here?" Marsaili asked, arm raised in case it did--whether to girls in general, or simply people with the best possible taste in cold weather outfits.

Orion - ゴースト狩り

Orion shrugged. "I'm just following him around because his biceps are as big as my head and anyone like that is always good to have on your side, especially when you got more brains than brawn." He said with a conspiratorial wink. Mostly true. He was pretty smart. And it seemed Rayo was determined to take care of the ghost problem by himself. Which Orion was, of course, perfectly fine with, after all, the luchador could obviously handle himself. Then the room temperature plummeted, along with Orion's optimism for the quest. He'd been hoping there was no ghost, or at least some sort of friendly misunderstood one. This was obviously not the case as the blood stained snow white ghost that was now trying to murder them clearly was none of these things. He stared at it for half a moment and only one thought came to mind. Run.

Orion instinctively reached out to grab Sonia's hand and sprinted after Rayo as fast as he could, feeling the familiar surge of energy that came to his legs when he ran away from something. "HEY RAYO!!!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, albeit an octave or two higher than he wanted. Still effective in getting attention. Orion had been hoping that cat girl's sword would be helpful but given the ghost's clear disregard for swords it seemed rather unlikely. Maybe lightning fists would work better. The ghost had to be a great conductor with all that metal in him right? Or maybe Rayo still knew some cool exorcism tricks. Of course they could all die here but Orion was distinctively trying to avoid that possibility. In part because he had a very strong feeling that he at least wouldn't die here. Not if the wolf howling inside of him demanding release had anything to say about it. Orion didn't know if the wolf could hurt the ghost, but if he let it attack the ghost it would certainly attack everything else in the area, including his two new friends, and he couldn't let that happen.

The Exorcist

Sonia didn't exactly get a chance to react because between the appearance of the ghost and Orion's sudden flight, which actually dragged her along, well there was too much to process at once. For a moment that catgirl couldn't believe the dragon morph could be so fast, but like a puzzle it clicked together. Those two, the wrestler and dragon man, they had to be reincarnated from Earth just like her. Besides the obvious where they really stood out from anyone else she's ever seen in this city, they also had abilities that went beyond that of a normal human, just like her martial techniques. Although returning to the present, Sonia was still being pulled along by the winged man, and her impressions weren't good. The guy was scared, like seriously scared, sure even she was fearful of the ghost, but not on that level, at least so she thought.

Eventually Sonia had enough and tore her arm from his grip, hopefully that would stop the both of them. "Hey!" She shouted. "Hey! Running around like idiots seems like damn bad idea to me." She paused and looked behind them before returning back to Orion. "Think about it, we're in a relatively small building meaning we'll quickly run into a dead end and I mean dead in more ways that one! Its also a ghost! It can probably pass through walls!"

Again Sonia turned around. "I think that wrestler is our best bet, so go find him he can't be that hard to find in here." The catgirl exhaled sharply. "I'll delay that thing, buy you some time just in case. I got some of my own tricks after all." Then she closed her eyes and tried to slow her breathing that despite all the adrenaline flooding her system, she had to find some peace. When the time felt right she bellowed. "Bulwark!" On that command a very small burst of blue energy exploded from her body before forming a faint barrier all around her. The blue substance shimmered softly, but honestly was barely noticeable unless one were to really focus on it.

The catgirl glanced back to Orion. "Go! The less time you waste, the less time I'll have to fend this undead bastard off by myself!" Sonia stopped herself before continuing, should she really say this? In the end she decided to go ahead anyway, not even knowing quite why she paused in the first place. "Also remember, death isn't final, we can't die anymore."

Orion - ゴースト狩り

NOoooooo! Didn't she understand that fighting it was a terrible idea? They had to get to Rayo so he could punch it or something as soon as possible! He wasn't sure that she was correct that death wasn't final here but still had no intent of dying. First off, it was painful. Second off, he was confident that if he 'died' wolfy would consume everyone in the immediate area and he wasn't sure he could live with himself if that happened. Still the girl seemed to have some tricks of her own, hopefully she could hold out until Rayo came. For some reason he could tell he wouldn't be able to persuade her.

Maybe it was the way her feet were set, her voice confident, body somewhat relaxed in spite of things. Or maybe it was just a guess. Regardless he nodded, "Don't die until I get back." he told her and raced off again, shouting for Rayo. He nearly ran into the big guy a bit later and quickly explained.

"WeFoundTheScaryGhostThingBackThereAndSonia'sFightingItYouGottaHelp!" Then he took a deep breath and began running back leading the luchador there, admittedly somewhat slower than before. Running into danger wasn't nearly as effective as running from it. Meanwhile the growling inside his chest was slowly increasing in volume, it was almost real at this point, perhaps a careful listener could've heard it.

The luchador heard faint yelling and noises behind him. It was probably Orion and the cat hybrid. Rayo couldn't figure out exactly what they would be doing, but they were loud. Rayo kept searching the place and could not find any signs of paranormal activity. It was horrible and frustrating to find nothing. The quest is obviously a false advertisement. Rayo was beginning to think the cat was the "haunted activity" this whole time.

He then felt a smaller person bumped into his backside. It was his new comrade, the dragon hybrid, and his face was as white as a sheet. The luchador was about to say something until he was interrupted. Despite Orion's slurred words, Rayo had got the gist of what was going on. His eyes became immediately wide and he quickly picked up Orion and set him to the side.

If the cat hybrid was battling the ghost then she might win and claim the mansion. "I am not smelling fish," Rayo roared through the halls unlocking his hidden strength. His massive built and electric fists charged through hallway; lightbulbs above him began busting due to the overcharge of lightning.

He ended up back where he was at before and saw the ghostly figure. "You will not get in the way of my bachelor pad," he pointed his electric finger at the ghost's general direction. Truthfully, he was referring to the cat hybrid. Rayo leaped toward the ghostly figured while chanting the Lord's prayer he memorized during his days of weekly Mass.

"Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen," he finished as he threw some electric punches.

Vanni looked down at the boy with a ticked face, fangs showing. He knew what Oji-san meant. And he certainly wasn't that old. Before, he felt sorry for these kids. Living in a slum place like this. It was almost parallel to his roots. And without parents... you knew what happened to those kids. They died within a week of being an orphan and if you're unlucky, and a girl, you were taken away to 'a better place'. He almost snorted. The better place meant being sold to some rich white man from Europe or if you're slightly luckier, a cam girl. It was disgusting but life. With no proper orphanages, those kids would die. Looking over the field of young faces, seeing the worried look on their faces, he softened.

These upstarts... they were young. Very young. One girl was holding an infant in her hands. He looked at the boy who greeted him and set a hand on the boy's hair and ruffled it. Looking over the masses, he grinned. "First off, I'm not an oji-san. If yer goin' ta refer me as anythin', refer to me as ni-san or Vanni. I'm 'ere ta save yer butts. How do I know?" He paused, looking down at the boy. "Dem big gangs are putting up sum bounties on ya'll, that's how I heard. And how do I save ya'll from yer impendin' doom?" His whisper of a song gathered enough power for him to release it all and for the young gangsters to feel the power. The power coursed through their body, feeling enlightened as they felt themselves become lighter, their strength tripled, and the feeling of refreshment was almost addictive. And it was all gone. He grinned. "That is how I'm goin' ta save yer butts."

A new challenger appears!

Eri turned as a new voice entered the fray.

"Uh..." He started.

He gave the new person a quick once-over. The first thing he noticed was that she sort of really stood out. Clearly her clothes weren't from around there, even if what she said didn't give her away already. He couldn't help but think that she might get cold easily but he wasn't sure if that was ever going to be a problem for any of them. Maybe the place they were in didn't have winter, maybe being cold was unheard of.

Still, the new person's question was still to be answered so he put his other ones aside.

"We're kind of new around here as well so maybe it does happen often." He said. "Are you here for the messenger quest as well?"

Miyu's Not Happy With Mazes

After some bright lights an walking, they were... at another corridor. Just like the last one. Miyu folded her arms. Jeez, it was like someone was just copy-pasting these places. The tiny blonde frowned deeply. It was probably deliberate to avoid anyone getting too far too easily, wasn't it? Well, the tiny mage was having none of that. Mazes just back her annoyed, after all, but before now she didn't have a rather unique tool for dealing with them.

Miyu grinned, and raised one hand towards the air, pointing up at the sky. There was a faint hum, as a reddish light gathered around her. Motes of light shot up in a circle from around the girl, as a magic circle spread from the tip of her finger, beneath a growing ball of light. It was time to see just how durable these walls were, wasn't it? It was unlikely she'd have to use this spell against anything else inside a dungeon. For a while, at least. The humming sound grew steadily louder, as the orb grew bigger and bigger... and she thrust her hand down and forward.

"Spark Rise Vermilioooooooon!"

There was a blast of noise and light as the orb shot forward, erupting in a beam towards a nearby wall.

Takeyoshi Sakujima- 歩いて行く

The corridor that the two walked down was, luckily enough, well-lit; Takeyoshi didn't expect that much, if anything. Granted, the whole dungeon had a very... Magitech-like aspect to it, so it made enough sense to prevent him from dwelling on the matter too much. The lighting itself was a tad... Nostalgic, though that was probably the color of the lights doing work there.

The end of the passageway led to what was effectively another identical room to the one from before, save for the way back. At the very least, they didn't go in a big circle... Right?

As soon as the thought crossed his mind, though, the way back was slowly closed off by a wall rising from the ground.
Of course.
The mark above the gate was marked 'teleport,' which made sense; that was where they came from, after all. Before Takeyoshi could make a suggestion to Miyu, though, he noticed the light gathering above her head.
...
Oh.

"For the love of--!"
Just as Miyu fired the explosion magic forward, Takeyoshi took a step back and covered his ears. The explosion was deafening, throwing a large cloud of smoke and dust into the air. It seemed to be far enough away from them to not warrant any coughing, But, even so...!

"What are you thinking?! The place is probably built to withstand stuff like that! And what if it backfired and blew US up instead?!" he asked incredulously, staring at the cloud and waiting for it to dissipate.
If it ended up actually REVEALING something, though, he'd eat his own words. But that was probably as unlikely as it'd get.
Probably.

The Exorcist

Sonia somehow managed to stand up after taking that blow. Goddamn it, wasn't that idiot wrestler wannabe supposed to be her ally?! Although the catgirl of course didn't have time to brood over what just happened it seriously wasn't the time to be standing around thinking, and admittedly it really was just an accident, well she hoped at least. When the ghost charged Sonia was barely able to dodge to the side, her injury was clearly affecting her speed, it stung something fierce but thankfully it didn't cause any permanent damage thanks to Bulwark's defensive properties.

With that diagnostic analysis taken care of there was still the major problem of a crazed, bloodthirsty ghost. Even then they weren't exactly sure if Rayo was actually effective against the damned thing, he was certainly powerful, Sonia could personally attest to that, but would his lightning fists be enough to take down something that was basically incorporeal? She couldn't do much honestly, her skills were more geared for fleshy enemies, plus her rusted sword would definitely be useless. She had a gut feeling that direct combat was not the answer, but neither was running away, at least not yet.

"Rayo!" She shouted at the luchador. "Your prayer didn't seem to have any affect, you're supposed to be the ghost expect, right? Why is this thing even here? I'm just starting to think that we should find the reason and take care of that rather than trying to fight it directly." Sonia hoped to whatever Gods were in this land that the meathead actually knew something about spirits, if he didn't... yeah.

The luchador stepped back, he was surprised his attack had missed. Rayo had never punched a cat before; if animal services had learned about this, he would be in some deep caca. "Lo que significa para el demonio. Lo sentimos extraño gato," the fighter apologized to the cat hybrid.

He focused on the ghost at hand. It was the only thing keeping him from having this apartment. Dragon Rayo has yet to see if his attacks would be useful against him. Unfortunately, he might have lost his chance since the demon decided to draw swords. "Crap..." Rayo acknowledged the apparition had an upper hand; there was no sense in finding out his attacks were going to be effective at the price of his limbs getting cut off.

Rayo then heard the hybrid cat speaking to him. The luchador shook his head and looked around his room. He was familiar with ghosts, but he was no expert. "Um..." Dragon Rayo paused a bit and eyed the room again. "There may be something in this house that is connected to the ghost. I forgot the term word for it." Rayo kept his electric fists up in case the demon headed his way. "Destroy the object, you destroy the ghost...I think there's also something about ghosts hating silver."

The luchador concentrated on all of the remedies for paranormal activity. His mind was too focused on the ghost at hand. He grunted and began knocking over furniture and items off of bookshelves just to see if the "item" was in the room.

Orion - ゴースト狩り

Orion flinched at the sight of the electrically charged luchador slamming his fist straight into the kitty. Oh that must've hurt. He was impressed the kitty was able to get up again, Orion doubted he could've taken a hit like that. At the sight of the violence his heart stirred even faster and he could swear he felt his teeth elongating into fangs. Rayo burst out something in Spanish but he was talking way too fast for Orion to hear anything other than gato. Rayo then suggested that there might be an object in the room to destroy or that silver might work. Orion looked at the ghost again, this time ready with a sword for its next attack. Maybe if all the swords were taken out? It could pacify the ghost since anyone would be upset if they were stuck full of swords.

The difficulty however, lay in removing them. Orion scanned the room for some sign of an object the ghost might be attracted to or some sort of holy or silver item. Regardless of what he saw he would grab the chair next to him. Orion took a deep breath and stared at the ghost as he thought through his plan. Wait until it attacked Rayo or Sonia. Run forward, use the chair as a shield in case the ghost was fast enough to attack him. Use the other hand to grab one of the swords and rip it out while running past it. Easy. Orion's tail swished behind him nervously again and his wings flexed a little in and out. "No killing!" he said sternly to the ghost, just playing for the slightest ghost of a chance that it would listen to him.

To the Citrouille Dungeon!

Tori took one last look at the group before she and Velte went off to the Citrouille Dungeon. Along the way, Tori attempted to start up some conversations with her new companion with some questions. How old she was, what skills she had, what she knew of this world, etc. Despite the few hours of walking, time quickly passed, and the two soon found themselves at a cave.

Tori went over to it and looked inside, feeling unimpressed with the appearance of the cave. She knew the quest box said that it looked just like a cave, but she still couldn't help but feel that way. After all, it was their first grand adventure in this world. Tori had been expecting something a bit more... grand. "Is this really a dungeon?" Tori wondered out loud. "It just looks like a cave to me."

Orion - ゴーストハンティング

Orion gave a small grin as he successfully removed the sword. But it was short lived when the creature smashed him with unholy strength and sent him crashing into a wall, losing his grip on everything, including reality. The roar in his chest grew exponentially louder, until the only thing he could hear was the overwhelming roar of the wolf. If Orion still had a firm grip and his body he sensed that the whole thing would've been incredibly painful. Finally Orion descended back into his body, looking around with fierce eyes and ready for blood. He locked onto the ghost. His crude, animalistic thoughts couldn't process much, but he knew one thing. The ghost had hurt him. Now he was going to hurt it. Orion gave one glance at the two people behind the ghost. They were familiar. They should leave. He tried to tell them to go, but all that come out was a low, pleading growl. Then the moment of clarity passed and they turned back into sacks of meat and blood. More importantly he could no longer contain his rage at the ghost. A howl burst from his enormous frame and in an instant he was lunging at the ghost. A ball of claws, fangs, and flesh, hurtling towards the ghost in an inescapable rush of movement. Slashing, tearing, biting, anything to tear the ghost into tiny little shreds for daring to hurt him. Or what used to be him. Orion's sense of self was far gone by now, lost in the thrill of the hunt. The wild hunt.

Rayo was frustrated that his finding no progress in finding the "item." He was frustrated and annoyed that a single ghost could be this much hassle. At the corner of his eye, he could see his comrade steadily make his way to the target. This made the luchador satisfied that the dragon guy managed to be useful in combat. He pulled one of the swords from the ghostly figured and it screamed out loud.

"There ya go, little amigo!" He spoke too soon. His friend had been kicked to a wall and he could not believe what had happened next. The luchador was honestly confused and had stepped back. All this time he figured Orion was just some dragon hybrid, it turns out he was a wolf. "Why didn't you do that before?"

Watching the wolf attack the ghost angrily, it looked like he did not have any control of his wolf transformation. Rayo was beginning to get pissed off; problems were beginning to stack up and there were no signs of solution. "Yo, Gato! I don't know your name, but it's time for brute force!"

Dragon Rayo unleashed a mighty roar symbolizing his strength boost. He picked up the couch in the living room and chucked as hard as he could at the ghost figure while it was distracted by the rabid transformation of Orion.

The Exorcist

Sonia wasn't like that dense wrestler, she knew that things were falling apart around them, and she had a pretty good idea how this was going to end. The ghost had got her good, even if it wasn't anything mortal she was still loosing blood, and that seriously scared her. Dammit, in a previous life she was nothing more than an office worker, hell she wasn't even a she, and here she was trying to play warrior. The reality hit her hard, she knew nothing about combat, how to properly wield a sword, how to actually defense herself, and above all else how to kill a ghost. For what seemed like forever Sonia couldn't do anything other than stare at the extremely slow growing pool of blood at her feet, all sort of thoughts swarming her mind.

She really wasn't cut out for this.

The thing was, however, Rayo a man who she'd pinned as a thickheaded idiot was still going at it, he seemed perfectly willing to continue flailing about even though the situation was all too dire. Sonia had to wonder, what did he have that she didn't? The catgirl forced down a few deep breaths, she still had to fight this out it seemed, other than death there was no way out, and the more she thought about it the more she didn't exactly feel like dying. Again.

Already she had her eyes on the sword Orion dropped, you know before the boy became some hellish wolf beast that would probably soon turn on them, in the struggle she lost track of her old weapon, but considering she had something new to use that didn't matter as much. While the ghost was hopefully fully occupied by Orion the Wolf, Sonia scrambled to take hold of the blade. Of course she thought about what clearly could go wrong by taking the ghost's sword, there weren't any other options she just had to take the risk, and maybe for once doing something won't literately come back to bite her in the ass. For the moment she was armed again, but by this point she was prepared to have a curse or something placed on her, guess she'll have to deal with the consequences later.

Back to the battle on hand, Sonia carefully made her way to the front door and opened it. Long as she still had the chance she wanted to prepare an avenue of escape, if all else fails then maybe she could still run. The catgirl mentally steeled herself, either Orion or the ghost will eventually come after her, then when they do she'll have to be ready. Silently she readied Rend, with a sharper blade it could actually deal some damage, the sword faintly glowed red showing the technique had the desired effect. She wasn't about to blindly throw herself into the melee, she'll wait for an opening.

Noob (Supposedly) Dungeon

Velte answered what questions he could during the walk to the destination- stating his age was 22, that no, he didn't know much about the world other than the basics, and so on with a dead-set and serious face. His eyes constantly shifted to and fro, alight for any sort of threat to their persons despite the quest assurance since there was no guarantee they couldn't be beset on the way there. A naturally cautious person by heart, the elf only really relaxed ever so slightly when they got to the entrance of the cave. Glancing at Tori, the elf hummed for a moment while analyzing the thing.

"Well, caves are usually stock fantasy dungeon settings. I'd assume the interior would be rather winding and would host various territorial beasties inside." Hefting a somewhat warped wooden spear made by fusing a lot of smaller tree branches collected on their way there together until the rough fibers were woven into hefty and dense giant toothpick, Velte began a breathing exercise as he began to compose himself before traveling inside. "At this point, if you have anything that'll help in a fight, you should equip or prepare to use it at a moment's notice. It wouldn't do to be caught off guard."
