@Princeofhearts Yeah, but Superboy was a clone. The DNA didn't really work in his favour, so he could super jump, but not fly. So if Kadar is a Kryptonian, I think his abilities make sense. He just wouldn't have them mastered or anything, you know?
edit ;; I forgot about the heat vision - I've been rewatching Young Justice, and I don't think he had that, either. Not sure about the breath, though.
So basically Golden age Superman? I think Golden Age was the weakest of the 3 ages when it came to superman, yeah? or DCAU superman nerfed would work too. He was balanced pretty well.
I personally was going for Supergirl lol cause I was inspired by her TV-Show. But they said all Kryptonians had the same abilities and I didn't really think of Superboy, I just named his Alias as that. And he could have threats, I mean there's his weakness of Kryptonite, etc.
@PrinceofheartsFor one, I'd tone down the scale of his powers. A fist-fight using super strength of 100,000 tons with flash-equal speed is over the top compared to most others if he went off the wall from mind control or some such. most superheroes get super strength or super speed, not both. And tossing on super-genius intellect with full martial arts training.
Soft suggestion and suggestion only is to set yourself up with a personal level or point system and shift the things around to scales of strength, instead of starting off with arctic superbreath, make it 10 MPH and lower temperature by 10 degrees, you could freeze already cool objects around 40 degrees and kick up debris easily hands free. Then after some adventuring and training, ramp it up to 20 MPH winds and 20 degree cooling. When you reach huricane force winds the arctic breath will be just as easy to accomplish.
But teffinately drop the strength and speed to something like 10X a human of his height/weight, that's 100-120MPH and 2000 pounds or so. More than enough to be a superhero without being justice leauge material off the bat.

Yeah, but kryptonite is supposed to be rare, same with red sun radiation. My char has that net/gas/ext weakness which is much, MUCH more readily available, even on a shoestring budget.

Thats about Superboy levels, except I think Superboy had 10 ton lifting cabaility instead of 1 ton, yeah?
Superman chars are really hard to balance. its like their points system is overbudgeted by a lot.
Edit; I never knew making a Krypto could be so bad tbh x.x no one likes Kryptonians I am guessing?
There is a reason why Superman hasn't been successful in the same way Batman has, hes just a mary su char that sets the bar for DC heroes in such a way that unless your Batman, your kinda SOL. Plus imagine how hard a Superman videogame is to make in comparison to a Batman game. With Batman, its feasible for him to lose in most situations. He usually doesn't (Unless its DCAU), but its not beyond the scope of belief. Superman? You KNOW hes going to win, your just waiting for it to happen as nothing can hurt him, and you know the writers don't have the balls to kill him off and keep him dead or crippled unlike Batman.
Plus Goku vs Superman, with the deathbattle team using Silver Age superman didn't help things at all.
I see, well next time I'm just gonna make a Batman type character. xD
Its not your fault. Lots of hate for Superman out there xD. Like I said, Goku vs Superman didn't help things at all. xD
If your dead set on a Superman like char, we can probably work something out to make them work.
You could make him have roughly or a little less than the durability/strength/speed of Starfire/GMs char, but instead of energy bolts you got your vision and breath powers nerfed a bit. Tack on the Red Sun/Kyrptonite weaknesses, change the knowledge down to be reasonable, but not JL levels, and we could probably make stuff work, yeah?
@Archmage MC To be fair, both Superman and Batman are "Mary Sue" characters - they're just able to be labeled as such for different reasons. Superman, because he's pretty OP - though he wouldn't be considered so on his home planet - and Batman because of his behaviour and backstory.
edit ;; I gotta go, though, so I hope you guys can sort this out. (I'd really leave the decision up to the GM, though.)
I got a feeling you want my character to be hella weak. If it was like this, I would've just made something else other than Kryptonian but I'll see what I can do.

Yep yep. xD I'm just super chatty and trying to help @Princeofhearts's char idea to work assuming their dead set on it. Problem with Superman is the extreme lack of weaknesses for so many powerful and pricy powers, and even then his weaknesses aren't that strong anyway.

I don't want it to be super weak, its more the Teen Titans setting and powerlevel area than anything. And lack of palpable weaknesses against any villain that isn't the top tier DC villains, which the Titans don't really fight since its out of their powerlevel range. (I'm not including any batman villains here because they are pretty low on the DC power scale if their name isn't Joker. And even he isn't that high on the scale tbh.)
Also admittedly I'm an advid Superman hater. xD

Yeah, I'mma do that. The basically carbon copy of Superman's powerset with 100k tons of SS really raised red flags in my head though. xD

Not at all. Compare Young justice superboy versus Justice league superman. He was still coming into his powers with room to grow, he had super-vision and x-ray, but no heat vision or super speed unless his human DNA was surpressed.
Couple months back I played a superman who landed in hawaii instead of kansas, I gave him the endurance and heat vision as his primary powers so he could take punishment and deal out hits as well.
Since thee are so many aspects of supermans powers, pick your top 3-5 favorites and focus on them more and give yourself come room to 'level-up'.

As before, suggestions only.
That sounds really sweet. xD Sounds like a City of Heroes kinda powerset balance thing, which I'm fine with xD.
EDIT: Wait, Superboy had Xray? I didn't know that!
Alias The Great and Powerful Kazam! (Or just Kazam, although Al himself insists on the full name.)
Age 18
Gender Male
Appearance
That's only Al's casual dress. His "professional" uniform consists of a dress shirt and vest combination worn under a royal blue high-collar cloak cut specifically to have triangular "teeth" at the hem, black dress pants tucked into shin-high white boots, a pair of white formal gloves and the pièce de résistance, a blue tricorn hat decorated with a big white feather for extra flair.
Personality Al is very charismatic, almost overly so. Most of the time it's part of the act, after all it's rather difficult to dazzle an audience if the performer has a gloomy attitude. Other times, though, he can come off as overly confident if not outright cocky. His confidence is great for putting on a show, but otherwise makes him difficult to work closely with, close personal friends tend to find his overly-dramatic confidence to be rather insufferable at times. His insistence on being called The Great and Powerful Kazam can - and has - rub people the wrong way. Still, if you can get past the bluster and theatrics, you'll find there's an overall good kid somewhere in there. Al fights crime and injustice as much as the next superhero after all, he just does it with a bit of a self-inflated ego.
Skills Al has learned a wide variety of tricks and illusions accomplished merely by sleight of hand. Apart from that, he likes to believe he is good at convincing people to agree with him through sheer charisma. He's also done his share of dabbling into occult lore and mysticism, if only because such knowledge is practically required for someone like him. Al has also become a practiced swordsman out of necessity due to the nature of his magic-wielding. Finally, he has learned to speak quite fluently in the famous Backward Speech of Zatara and Zatanna, as any self-respecting sorcerer would if only out of respect for and in tribute to their greatness.
Powers Al is of Homo Magi descent, at least on his father's side anyway. As such, he possesses a certain talent for using real magic. As with most spell-casters, a specific focus is generally required before Al can successfully throw out magic spells. For most, the focus is incantations, Zatanna's backward speech being the most famous example. For Al, while he can use backward speech for incantations, and often does so, he also uses a physical object as a focus as well. That object is an antique sword, an enchanted one that is his family's heirloom. While Magic generally allows one to accomplish a wide variety of feats, there are more specific spells designed for more specialty purposes. The ones Al himself knows are as follows:
"Drows a emoceb!" - A transmutation spell that transforms the wand into its sword form.
"Dnaw a emoceb!" - A transmutation spell that transforms the sword into its wand form.
"Rednuht fo edalb!" - The sword becomes magically infused with an electric charge, giving it an unnatural sharpness that allows it cleanly cut through objects it should otherwise be unable to. Concentration is required to hold the charge, so it will be dispelled by breaking Al's concentration or by outright knocking him unconscious.
"Llab gninthgil! Mrof ekat!" - Conjures and then hurls a ball of electricity. Upon impact with a target, the lightning jumps from the target and spreads its shock to those immediately surrounding it at a maximum radius of ten feet.
"Evoba morf rednuht!" - Calls a bolt of lightning to strike from above. Becomes even more powerful and effective during a natural rain storm.
"Sdnuow esolc!" - A healing incantation for closing and healing minor injuries and flesh wounds. More serious injuries such as dismemberment require an incantation of much higher level and thus will not be effected by this one.
Equipment Al's most precious possession is his family sword. It's enchanted and thus capable of changing its appearance between being a sword and a wand. Much of Al's magic is channeled through it in some form, and so without it his spells become significantly weaker or more difficult to maintain.
History Much of Al's family history is muddled and forgotten, but it has always possessed a talent for magic. This is because, at least on his father's side of the family tree, Al's family contains members of the Homo Magi race, essentially humans with a natural affinity for spell-casting. In fact, Al isn't even the first to be called the Great Kazam. That honor goes to his great grandfather, Al simply taking the title for himself when he inherited the family sword. Al was an only child, and in a way that was a blessing for him. According to the Kazam family traditions, only one child per generation could learn magic. In households with more than one child, both would be taught magic until adulthood, at which point it was customary for the siblings to pit their magical mastery against one another, the winner being awarded the sword and the losers stripped of their ability to use magic in order to prevent them from becoming a threat. Since he was an only child, Al was spared from this custom as he had no siblings to compete against.
His childhood normal, or at least as normal as could be when magic was involved, Al grew up being praised for his talents, mostly by his mother. While his father was around early on to teach him the basics of magic, he vanished when Al was 14 years old. Whether he died or simply transported himself to some other dimension, none could say. Supposedly he was researching something but he always kept that a secret, so no one in the family actually knew what it was he was working on at the time of his disappearance. Still only a rookie spell-caster, Al demanded the sword be given to him so he could finally master his gifts and go searching for his father, but was denied. He was still too young, and so the family sword went to Al's depowered uncle, who despite no longer possessing magic was able to complete his training and, four years later, finally gave Al the family sword.
In his search, Al began using his talents to fight crime, something none in his family had ever considered doing before. Al was almost entirely inspired by the famous Zatanna in his decision to become a crime fighter, even self-learning her famous Backward Speech for his own use. In these activities, Al encountered others around his age who also resolved to fight crime. Deciding that his talent would certainly be invaluable to them, Al reached out to them and essentially invited himself into their team.
Other He still keeps in contact with his uncle, reaching out to him if a magical problem proves too difficult for him to solve on his own.
Personality Quiet, thoughtful and always focussed on the job. Her social life is all but non-existant. She has a hatred for non-practical outfits, ESPECIALLY, that of her mothers. She has a special place in her heart for Waffles, if one wanted to get her to open up, that's the best way to do it.
Skills Highly trained in multiple forms of combat, including swordplay, Tai-Chi, Boxing, Tae-Quan-Do and Wrestling. Highly trained Acrobat. Highly trained escape artist
Equipment Gauntlets of Submission Lasso of Truth Standard Bat-equipment, baterangs, tiny cutting laser, explosive gel and a batclaw. Her costume is made from a super-light weight, polymer-treated kevlar, allowing for full range of movement, but also difficult to pierce from bullets, arrows and most other stabbing weapons (She learned from her mothers mistakes in attire)
History Hera, the child that should not have been, bore from a father with no parents and a mother never meant to know the touch of a mortal. The gods are not pleased with her existance, to say the least. Before she was thought of, everybody imagined the idea of Batman and Wonder Woman getting together and (As Plastic Man once said) "Hearing the pitter-patter of tiny justice machines" to be the best outcome for the both of them. Well, what they didn't know was that, being an Amazon, Diana was supposed to remain celibate.
It was the moment that Hera was born that the Gods rescinded their powers and struck her mother as mortal. Diana didn't care, as she had found the one thing she needed more than anything else, to love and to be loved. Hera grew up hearing the stories about her mother and father, and somehow came to harbor a mild self loathing knowing that, had she not been born, that her mother would still be one of the worlds greatest superheroes. Although Bruce was determined to keep Hera out of the superhero trade, Damien was far more lenient and trained her. This is probably why that, at the age of 12, she stole her mothers equipment and Stephanie's old Robin outfit from the batcave and took to the streets alongside her older Halfbrother (She got grounded for a week afterwards). Ever since then, she has been steadily making her way up the crime fighters list. She petitioned to join the Justice league, but she was deemed far too young.
Now, with the Teen Titans forming, she made her own costume and has come to Jump City to join and save the lives that her mother couldn't anymore.
